Excellent. Fantastic service. Went for dinner and breakfast. Only place in Glen Arbor right now serving sit down breakfast. Indoor and outdoor seating. Only 3 tables outside and gets really busy, especially for breakfast/brunch. Nice menu and wine list. All dinners served with to share salad made with local greens and vegetables plus fresh bread. Good Harbor Whitefish was cooked perfectly and served with fresh herb butter and choice of potatoes or rice. Seafood Mediterranean full of seafood and very flavorful. Reasonable prices. My wife and I rode our bikes into town from The Homestead for an early morning breakfast. We sat on the patio, enjoying the beautiful weather and the slight breeze. Sailboat, fish and beach picures and maps adorn the knotty pine walls, reminding patrons that lake Michigan's Sleeping Bear Bay is just yards away out back. We popped in straight up noon on a Sunday and surpringly were seated right away. Table turnover and setup is quick. Outside tables are available, but inside is where the action happens. You can see the kitchen staff at work and check out all the servers hustling to get the food on the table. They work fast! We missed breakfast (service stopped at 11.30) but we got bacon on the Turkey Avocado Sandwich, so it was almost the same as breakfast! Turkey is thick, carved slices of breast. We also ordered a half a regular turkey sandwich (same bread and thick slices if meat) and cup of potato leek soup which was absolutely delicious! Menu board said local peach shortcake available for dessert. Talk about locally sourced ingredients - the family owners also own the nearby Glen Arbor Bakery which supplies the bread. $4 latte was delicious. Coffee is Higher Grounds from nearby Traverse City, fair trade and organic. About half my normal serving size, but more refreshing to my wallet than ordering 2. Great place for casual dining. Great service and great food! Nothing like a scratch kitchen in Northern Michigan. Good Harbor Grill really delivers. Our server was outstanding, it was definitely not her first summer at the Grill. She took our drink order, explained the specials and made us feel at home. Tuscan bean soup was lacking flavor but the salad with homemade dressing and main courses more than made up for it. Very accommodative of the various allergies we had at the table. Salad was full of fresh vegetables and all the dressings are homemade and outstanding. Had the white fish broiled with paprika, salt and pepper and it was outstanding. Corn on the cob and wild rice really rounded out the meal. Finished off with a cheese cake for the table (not pictured) which was fresh and delicious. Overall, we got to hear the music at Boonedocks but had much better food. A win, win all around! A must go if you are in the area. 4.5 stars rounded down to 4 but really, it could have gone either way. Waiting to try the meatloaf or breakfast. read more

We found this in Google and decided to stop by, hoping that there wouldn't be a ridiculously long line. Fortunately, only parking was a bit weird but other than that we were seated in a couple of minutes in their front patio. Had we opted to sit indoors, we'd probably have waited another 10 minutes as the place is small. Vibe was cute. Food was alright - kind of like diner breakfast food. I got the special: duck benedict. Has to be one of the worst dining experiences we've personally ever had in this tiny little hamlet paradise of Glen Arbor and Homestead Resort loyalty. That's saying a lot since I've been visiting this neck of the world for over 35 years! Came in for dinner with my two daughters and wife. I will say that the food options have always been a bit frustrating in this little town but that's not the draw. We all know this. It's the pure Michigan splendor that brings us back to M22. I digress. Wife had a 5oz steak so burnt, charred and chewy that it was quite simply inedible. When it arrived, it was such a tiny portion that WE both looked at one another and giggled in disgust. 5 ounces it just that, but this portion was laughable!! There were literally 5 undercooked green beans hiding on her little plate of food. Ha! I had the Mushroom Shrimp Linguine Special. Nothing "special" here. Pasta was over-cooked, mushy and drowning in butter. Mushrooms were slimy and from a GFS bulk purchase. Shrimp was also terribly tiny (4 total) and not lacking in liquid butter as well. Same measured and measly (8 green beans) portion of green beans. Just terrible. For a "Special $26 dollars," the value and quality were a joke. My daughters each had the kids pizza which, I get it- it's kids menu pizza. Clearly the Shwann's truck brought that. The little round pizza you can buy frozen from Costco. But it was fine. Actually, WE all ended up eating the tortilla chips that came with the kiddos pizzas. Although when you can say the kids food is better prepared in a microwave then what is served to adults, this is not good. Furthermore, the two "chefs" preparing the food that evening (open view to public kitchen galley concept) looked to be about 17 years old!? Can only surmise they are related to ownership? Perhaps in need of return to Culinary Institute of America to brush up on Cooking 101 course. Best part of the meal was the "Chloe" Chardonnay both wife and I drank. At the conclusion of the meal I drank it down like a shot to lesson the shock of the bill for such a dissatisfied experience!! I'm not kidding. I really did this action. I felt badly for the server as it wasn't her fault the food was so lousy. The Good Harbor Grill has always been a breakfast place and is not a fine dining establishment. It should cease to mascaraed as one at dinner time and simply serve eggs and pancakes all day. Like I said, GHG does a decent breakfast on par with most Mom & Pop Food Operations and better than any IHOP. When taking into account the Glen Arbor restaurant scene and lack of choices, it's "almost" understandable. But paying such a hefty bill for sub par food in this fashion left us searching for another dinner after this one. Won't be back for a long time. read more

We had such a good meal and enjoyable time at Good Harbor. The atmosphere is so quaint and old school nautical. Adorable. Our waitress was so patient with us as we asked her to repeat the dressing selection twice. My husband had blackened whitefish and I had the crab cakes. We both had seasoned potatoes and green beans. Dinner comes with a family style bread basket and salad bowl. Their lemon basil salad dressing is delicious. We both thought everything was super yummy. Service was great. Had a wonderful server. Think her name was Grace. Split the soup and grouper with my sister. We didn't think the grouper was cooked enough and we sent it back and they brought back a brand new serving. (Didn't just microwave it). It has a nice sweet potato crust. My brother-in-law ordered the white fish and liked it and my husband had the bowl of chili. The endless salad is a great addition and the bread is warm and plentiful. They'll give you second helpings if asked. Restaurant was crowded but food came pretty quick. They have a $20 corkage fee so great to bring a new local wine into the restaurant. read more

Its great to find a local Cafe with gluten free options in the area, as there aren't many. We stopped in on a busy Fridqy afternoon after doing some hiking. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. I had a delicious gluten free ham sandwich which I haven't had in ages, it was so good! The place was very busy and the servers were working hard to keep everyone happy. I wish I could eat their pie, they had so many options that sounded amazing! Definitely will be back. read more

Good harbor is a great place to stop for breakfast. The different menu items are sure to be a crowd pleaser for anyone. The front patio/seating was a really great place to be with a great view of downtown Glen arbor. The service and length of time it took to get our food was a little longer than we would've like but nothing that would stop us from returning. It fueled us perfectly for the dune climb. read more

The place was small, the food was average at best. My daughter and I ordered burgers cooked medium. They were very well done, nearly burned. We weren't able to finish them. My husband got crab cakes, but he must have read the menu wrong, because only one came, and it was on a bun. He said it was below average. My other daughter really liked her grilled chicken sandwich. The sandwiches come with dry corn tortilla chips, they were not good. The girls got a lemonade, and weren't able to drink it. Our water was never refilled, no one offered to get my husband another beer. Choose one of the other bigger restaurants nearby. read more
