The food is absolutely disgusting and not healthy. Why is this place getting any business? The food is absolutely nasty poorly run dirty environment, but they are still selling this food to the community, which is sad. I have seen rats all over the place to include dirty handling of the food and unsanitary conditions when they put the food together, I would not come here to eat anything. read more

Classic Carry-Out food. VERY good chicken. Everything was hot and the chicken was crispy and well seasoned. We ordered ahead over the phone. The associate was friendly and precise. Everything was ready about 15-20 mins later and I repeat STEAMING HOT. The mambo sauce was on the milder side with subtle flavor. I will say it's in the hood. The other reviews said it right, order your food, mind your business and keep it moving. There were police in the parking lot when I came and I was there at 11am when they opened. People in SE gas this place up....they need to get across the River more often. Looks as sketchy and as bland as the lobby in front the restaurant. If you are on this side of town, the only option for good chicken wings with Mumbo Sauce is Hong Kong. Skip this one. We decided to order from here last night and not only was that rice fry it was clumped together which tells me it was old. I ordered veggie fried tried and they threw steam veggies on top. Large steamed veggies instead of chopping them down and frying them with the rice. Chicken wings were trash, super salty, too. I used to order her years ago, but they have fallen bad. Yes it's in the hood but it's good, staff is friendly, although a young male worker kept calling me "yo" and I had to correct him, "are you talking to me? This place used to be a decent carry out but a few months ago, I visited here and there were multiple rats running all across the parking lot, and all over the dumpster. They weren't even scared of cars or anything. It was disgusting and the health department needs to pay them a visit asap. DON'T EAT HERE!!!!! read more

Soooooo.... I did a search of best mambo sauce & this, and Yums II of Northeast, showed up. Leaving Acadiana put me closer to Yums, but someone recently left a tip about them having rats so I ended up at Goodhope. Mambo sauce was NOT GOOD here. Frankly put, that sh** is nothing more than basic tangy ketchup.... not nearly the sweet & spicy delightful mambo I grew up on, and a huge waste of time locating off the path to my next destination. 2 stars are because I did not die and the sweet lady behind the bulletproof window was so sweet and patient while the lady in front of me took a pause in placing her order to yell at a homeless person asking her for change to go and sell some pus** to get money instead of begging. read more

Bad Hope Carry Out have the most unsanitary conditions inside and outside of the establishment. The kitchen is completely filthy and their customer service is the worst service I had ever encountered. They are cooking and serving food behind a bulletproof glass windows, which entails the lack of respect for our community, but they continue to make money and rip people off by serving expired food. During my first visit, the food I ordered was rubbery and overcooked. They gave me a horrible excuse as to why they would not replace my order with freshly cooked food...big disappointment. The last visit confirmed that I would no longer eat their food, or support their establishment. I found hair in my food, but they insisted it was not their hair, even after me showing them the food with the hair hanging out of it. Again, they refused to replace my order with freshly cooked food, and refused to give me a refund. I was left with no food, no money, and a second disappointed visit. They are careless and have a bad attitude...I will never trust them with cooking my food. I WILL NEVER EAT FROM GOOD HOPE CARRY OUT AND I SUGGEST THAT YOU CHOOSE ANOTHER PLACE TO EAT. read more

Now that the second generation of this hard Working family is taking over it's good to see the continuing good reviews....Believe me that's tough on this corner....Things are livelier and better lit since addition of 7-11 across the street, with predictably better police presence. Even the tight parking is a little cleaned up. That the food is pretty good speaks for itself since they have never had any delivery capacity....And it's tough to make it in SE DC without making deliveries....!!! (And it's tough as heck to MAKE deliveries....But that's a whole other story!!) Check out the lunch specials,. Wish the curry would improve...But you can't have it all and just continuty is a admirable virtue. read more

Fresh, hot, delicious food. And finally someone who makes the mumbo sauce that my husband loves. He ended up getting 3 tubs to take back home. We was there right when we opened up at 11:00am but they were late and we didn't mind at all. I heard it wasn't the best of neighborhood but it's definitely worth the risk. Whole subs, combination lo mein, 5 wings and fried rice, Rock Creek cherry and pineapple, Jesus is real! No complaints with this place at all. Just be prepared for loud ordering, a wait if you do not phone in your order and someone probably will be asking for change and/or a Newport. The one that got me was the guy that wanted to change his 4 quarters for a damn dollar, I was so confused by that. Overall this place is really good. This carryout is an Anacostia staple for sure. Always the goto for the good ole fried chicken wings and french fries with mumbo sauce. Its one of the two carryouts I eat at in the whole city. Best mumbo sauce. Same family have owned this place for years. Food always hot and ready in no time. Its been recently renovated along with the parking lot. It was much needed. Good hope has continued to go downhill. They're overpriced and they charge .50 for extra mumbo sauce. The containers are so very small. U ask for it on your food and they put next ro nothing on your food forcing you to purchase extra. I've given up and will never patronize this u sanitary business again read more

I love this place!! It's been here forever & I always patron it when I'm in town. The steak n cheese are the best, beef lo mein is better than most and steak n cheese egg rolls are my new favorite. Oh beef fried rice and egg rolls can't be beat either! Staff is very friendly. Would've given it one mor star if they had seats to sit on instead of a window ledge and heat in the foyer. read more

These are modifications that have been accommodated at other Raising Cane's locations, and my order was confirmed before I paid, so I expected it to be made correctly. It wasn't just my meal that was wrong. One coworker substituted fries for coleslaw but somehow received two coleslaws instead, even after the order had been read back correctly. Another coworker found a long black hair in his food, immediately ruining his meal. By the time we realized how many mistakes had been made, we had already left the restaurant, so there was no practical way to have everything corrected. Mistakes happen, but it's rare to see so many errors in a single order affecting multiple people. Missing food, incorrect substitutions, ignored requests, and a hair in someone's meal all made for an incredibly disappointing experience. To make matters worse, the service itself lacked professionalism. The employee taking our order repeatedly asked coworkers for help, seemed confused throughout the process, and even forgot what she was asking. When I later spoke with the manager in the gray polo, I expected someone who would take the concerns seriously. Instead, he came across as dismissive and confrontational, leaving me feeling like our experience didn't matter. Overall, this was one of the most disappointing fast-food experiences I've had. I hope this location improves its order accuracy, food quality, and customer service, because customers deserve better than what we received.

It's a Chipotle so the expectations are not that high. There was no wait to order but the bins…read morewhere they have all the food were cross-contaminated, messy with spills, and generally not presentable, but again it's Chipotle, fast food, and likely underpaid employees. One of the employees had her child running around the dining room area. The floors were filthy, the trash cans overflowing, the condiments and soda area a mess. There were so many employees, so it wasn't an issue of being short staffed, it was an issue of careless staff. I got the veggie crispy tacos, and they tasted great, so all in all, my craving was satisfied. I'd probably take the food to go but I felt like dining in.

I came here because it's part of the Dining Rewards Program where I can earn additional airline…read moremiles on top of the points I would typically get paying with my credit card. While I was hungry, my objective was to earn points more than to satisfy a craving. This place is inside the Whole Foods in Navy Yard, which made it a tad confusing to find. Before I ordered, I asked the person who worked there what her favorite burger was. She looked at me and said she doesn't eat here. Haha. I ordered a cheeseburger. It took longer than I think a cheeseburger should, but I suppose I should be happy they make things as they are ordered. I paid for my burger, paid for my groceries, and then ate at the dining area in Whole Foods. The burger was fine. It didn't blow my mind away but I wouldn't say it was bad either. I think the "fake meat" industry has already peaked and while more people are becoming vegetarians and vegans, people are questioning the artificial flavors and chemicals that go into lab-grown meat and everyone is questioning the higher price for these items relative to actual meat. Already, the Beyond Meat and Impossible Foods brands are struggling. All this to say, it was a decent meal but I don't know if I'd go out of my way for this again. If I'm going to have a burger, I prefer real meat.

I tried their take on a strawberry milkshake and the consistency was more water than anything else. In addition, their milkshake tasted off. The patty melt did not wow me, so the food disappointed me. When I tried to place my order, there was a crowd of customers waiting for their orders - some waiting as long as 20 minutes. My order took 15 minutes, but I can understand that some times are busier than others. Overall, I probably would not go back :(

No cheese in the soup just broccoli and carrots. But you have to pay for extra for cheese when it's advertised as cheese AND!!! I like Potbelly but I won't trust this one to do nothing else for me. I don't like people playing with my money or food.
