I left Raising Cane's genuinely frustrated and disappointed. What should have been a quick lunch with my coworkers turned into one of the most disappointing fast-food experiences I've had. Unfortunately, the problems started as soon as we opened our food. I ordered a 3 Finger Combo with naked tenders, extra crispy fries, and three pieces of Texas toast with butter on both sides. Instead, I was missing an entire tender, my fries were soft instead of extra crispy, and the toast wasn't prepared as requested. These are modifications that have been accommodated at other Raising Cane's locations, and my order was confirmed before I paid, so I expected it to be made correctly. It wasn't just my meal that was wrong. One coworker substituted fries for coleslaw but somehow received two coleslaws instead, even after the order had been read back correctly. Another coworker found a long black hair in his food, immediately ruining his meal. By the time we realized how many mistakes had been made, we had already left the restaurant, so there was no practical way to have everything corrected. Mistakes happen, but it's rare to see so many errors in a single order affecting multiple people. Missing food, incorrect substitutions, ignored requests, and a hair in someone's meal all made for an incredibly disappointing experience. To make matters worse, the service itself lacked professionalism. The employee taking our order repeatedly asked coworkers for help, seemed confused throughout the process, and even forgot what she was asking. When I later spoke with the manager in the gray polo, I expected someone who would take the concerns seriously. Instead, he came across as dismissive and confrontational, leaving me feeling like our experience didn't matter. Overall, this was one of the most disappointing fast-food experiences I've had. While visiting from California, my friend took me to Raising Cane's at Union Station and I absolutely loved it! The chicken was perfectly crispy, juicy, and flavorful. The fries were golden and crunchy, and the drink was super refreshing--just what I needed after a long morning of sightseeing. The customer service was excellent everyone was friendly, quick, and helpful. I also loved the decor inside; it was fun, clean, and had that signature Cane's vibe that makes the experience even better. We enjoyed our meal sitting around the beautiful Union Station, which is such a historic and stunning building. So...... I did not like the fries. The best thing was the toast and the tea. The sauce was decent and you have to dip the chicken in it otherwise there will be no flavor. The chicken was ok and cooked well but I wish they would season the chicken like add some herbs or something, At least black pepper. This was the second Cane's location I've ever been to and it was beautiful! I loved the disco balls spinning on the ceiling and weirdly enough I liked how there were no tables causing any clutter, just bars to stand and eat at. The restaurant was a little difficult to find as someone who's visiting from out of town but once I found it, it was worth it. I ordered The Caniac Combo which came with 6 chicken fingers, 2 Cane's sauce cups, a coleslaw, a Texas toast and a drink (I got sweet tea). The food was delicious and you definitely get what you pay for. The workers weren't the nicest but I don't blame them since it was quite busy. This Raising Cane's is the first one I've been to! I was very excited to see this location within Union Station. It was very simple to order food, but that is thanks to the cashier, Denise. She was patient and kind enough to explain we can buy the chicken fingers in a manner of ways (naked to extra crispy --- this all depends on how much breading someone wants). This is definitely a to-go spot with standing room only. But the stand-up counters all for people to put down their food while they eat. The counter space was ample and the counters themselves were spotless, all while the restaurant being pretty busy (lots of DoorDash orders). I like how staff announced the orders being available for pickup: Ex: "I've got love for Ana!" The chicken was piping hot and so delicious. The pieces were pretty crispy (I ordered extra crispy. Six fingers a la cart were $2.19 each) and the Raising Cane's Sauce (25¢ per container). Cane Sauce did not disappoint. I can't wait to try the other items on the menu soon! read more

I was excited to try this new fast food place in Union Station but sadly felt underwhelmed by the quality of the food. I ordered a four chicken tender meal and found that one of the tenders was completely inedible. Rubbery is a generous adjective. While the other three were fine, nothing special, this one just could not be eaten. The Raising Cane's at Union Station is an express stop for those craving Cane's. This is my second time having Cane's. I'm originally from New York, so I usually go to the one in Times Square in the theater district, but this particular location seems to taste better. Maybe it's my personal preferences or expectations, but this one was a bit more generous with the sauce portions, and the fries were properly salted--unlike my last visit to the Times Square location, where the fries had no salt at all. When evaluating Cane's, I also consider the customer service. Surprisingly, the staff at Union Station seemed rushed and lacked the hospitality or joy I've experienced at other locations. I'm not sure why, but if I had to guess, it might have to do with my mentioning that I met Cane's CEO. The reaction at Union Station was dismissive, as if they didn't care, whereas the staff at the New York branch seemed more familiar with the CEO Todd Graves, AJ Kumaran, the co-CEO, and my trip to Canecún 2024. The charm that Cane's seems limited. There are no chairs, just stand-up tables, and the space is small with minimal decor--aside from a colonial-style design, glass accents, and a crystal ball featuring their mascot dog wearing what looks like a patriot's hat. Part of what makes Cane's special is the fun and lively environment, that and the sauce, but here it felt more rushed. Well a long line is usually an indicator of good food. Not really the case this time. For tenders to be the star of the show and only main menu item, they missed the mark and fell a bit flat for me. They were breaded pretty good but the flavor and seasoning wasn't there for me. I dis get carry out so it took me a few to dig in so the meal wasn't piping hot but the fries weren't very good either. Pressed for time in a train station and the pickins were slim. I can say these things however.........I welcome a kiosk situation anytime.....Wawa, Honey Grow, the corner Papi shop, it just makes things easier. Pull your ticket and step aside. The only problem with this at this particular Raising Cane's is that the music was sooooo damn loud that the staff had to yell out and you had to be listening hard because it was also crowded. I could not understand why they were playing music at that volume. The chicken was fresh but I did not find it crispy enough. If i dredge it through a dipping sauce, and Cane's is pretty thick, and the breading is left in the container then we have lost the challenge my friend. But what did stay tasted good. So was the sauce. As for the bread, I didn't understand that part either. Was I to make a sandwich out of my tenders? Not really, there was only one slice. I just munch on it as a side? I have been watching people eat Cane's and rave about the sauce on TikTok and YouTube for a hot minute, so I was happy to learn that Cane's was moving into Union Station which is pretty close to me. The hubby and I went here on 5/24/2024. The hubby and I got the box combo to share which comes with four chicken fingers, fries, and two pieces of Texas toast (we got the extra toast instead of coleslaw). We also got a couple of extra Cane's sauces to ensure we had enough. I know this is just fast food, but boy was it good. The chicken tenders were crunchy on the outside, but not too crunchy, they were just right while still being soft and juicy on the inside. The French fries were crinkly cut, hot and also quite good, but that Cane's sauce, yeah it's crack. I would put that sh*t on a shoe and I'm confident the shoe would then be edible. You thought I forgot about the toast? Nope! The toast was bomb, buttery and perfectly toasty but soft, and if you are wondering if we made a chicken tender sandwich, the answer is "you're damn right we did!" Go here! Welp, I guess it's official. Raising Cane's has changed their recipe. The chicken fingers are now tiny. The breading is completely different. It lacks the flavor and crunch it once had. WHY? WHY? WHY? This is so incredibly disturbing. The breading and size was what made Canes fingers so great. This is absolutely pitiful. This location has tanked. Got just a tiny little touch of fries in my box. And they were cold, soggy, and undercooked. The only good thing left now is the Canes sauce. The size of the dipping cups have gotten smaller, though. And given their change in the chicken recipe, it's probably only a matter of time before their sauce disappoints too. This was our final attempt at this location. I ordered two chicken fingers a la carte! I didn't get to eat it over two hours plus but I could smell it seeping out from my knapsack. By the time I got to it, it was soggy and nothing crisp about it. I found the chicken to be moist but very salty. The store was big and clean. The decor was nostalgic with disco balls hanging and a cute, giant dog wearing a tricorn hat! I visited today as part of the grand opening. This was my first time ever at a Raising Cane's and the food, service, and ambiance was all good. The grand opening was very well organized, it ran smoothly, and it ran on time. There were lots of staff around providing directions. Kudos to the organizers. The store is located next to the McDonald's at the end of the main train waiting area. The store design is clean, bright, and open, so it feels energetic and welcoming. There are a few high top tables to stand and eat, but no seating (at least today). There are 3-4 registers to place orders. My order was taken quickly and prepared quickly. I got the three piece combo: 3 pc chicken tenders, fries, texas toast, Cane's sause, and fountain sweet tea for $10.90 pre-tax. All of the food was good. I can't say it blew me away -- it's fast food chicken tenders, after all -- but it's good. I was curious, so here's a comparison to the McDonald's, Wendy's, and Chick-fil-a also in Union Station, all prices pre-tax. McDonald's: $10.29 for 10 pc nugget combo. Wendy's: $11.39 for 10 pc nugget combo. Chick-fil-a: $11.59 for 3 pc tenders combo. (price actually from the Chinatown location because the Union Station one doesn't use the mobile app, lame) McD's and Wendy's don't sell chicken tenders anymore, also lame. So Raising Cane's is competitively priced. I would definitely pick it over the option options, unless they are running good promos. read more

Upon entering. You're NOT greeted. You're greeted upon getting to the counter however. ,The ventilation is very good due to the open environment shared with union station. The atmosphere is very modern compared to the other places inside union station. Also the lighting is better as well. The employees are very friendly and social. Not professional however. There have been numerous occasions in which the kitchen is filled with employees joking around with only one register open which clearly indicates "mismanagement" due to the lack of proper delegation of tasks among the employees. There is no seating. Only standing tables currently. **SEE PICS**. The pricing is not bad for 2024 on the smaller meals. When you look past the four piece tender meal however. The pricing makes completely zero sense. An additional tender by itself is around $2 but based on the math between the meal pricing. It's $3+ depending on which meal you order. The six piece is nowhere near worth the price tag. Around $21 after tax. The portion sizes are where this location FAILS. Despite paying heavily inflated prices for chicken tenders. They're essentially equivalent to CFA sized tenders almost. Paying premium prices should equal receiving your monies worth. Especially crossing the $20 mark for chicken tenders. But despite receiving small tenders. The real estate in the box regarding the portion of fries are also usually lacking as well. Potatoes are one of the cheapest ingredients but yet you're not able to receive a decent portion size for the premium price. After notifying the staff about the small tenders. They didn't seem to care which would indicate customer service is definitely NOT prioritized at this location. The food is usually hot and fresh however. Just very small portions for the price. The fountain drinks are very good especially the lemonade. They're not watered down or syrup tasting. Which means the water/syrup ratio is perfect in the fountain machine which is a MAJOR PLUS.... The overall cleanliness can vary depending on the time of day. **SEE PICS**. The noise level is normal for a retail environment. It can however get loud at times due to the amount of employees in the kitchen area. The general crowd is mainly usually adults. Some kids. This is my first time ever going to Raising Cane's. There is also one where I live but the lines are usually too long for me. Today there was no line at this location inside Union Station so I decided to go in. I got the box combo with crinkle cut fries, coleslaw, Texas toast and chicken fingers with their signature sauce. M The Server was very nice and bubbly and my order came out in a timely fashion. The store was very bright and clean and I felt that the energy was good. I decided to take the food back to my office and eat it there. A couple of People stopped me along the way to ask how was the food? I told them I was about to find out. One Young Gentleman said it was all about "the sauce". The sauce is different-I will give them that. I can't put my finger on the flavors. The food was good but not overwhelmingly so to me. My Southern friends & I decided to take a much needed foodie trip to Raising Cane's today. A location in DC was LONG overdue. Although the line was very long, it did move along pretty quickly, and I really do appreciate that. I know grand opening week can be hectic for any establishment, but I think management did a really good job keeping everything afloat by helping the lines move quicker than usual & getting orders out to customers in a fast and efficient manner. I do like the interior of Raising Cane's. The inside was a mixture of the mascot and also a disco vibe. It is very lively and upbeat. Sometimes, good (Southern) chain restaurants that come to DC tend to lower their quality & price hike. Thankfully, we did not have this happen with Raising Cane's, though the prices are a bit higher. I ordered the Box Combo ($12.99) without the coleslaw and substituted it with an extra piece of toast. Additionally, I sized up on my lemonade for a large one and an extra Cane's sauce, bringing my order total to $15ish. The sauce alone is to die for. My only complaint is that the tenders could use more breading. Despite that, the chicken tenders pair well with the sauce. It's ideal to get extra toast! Whenever I come back, I'll be sure to keep the coleslaw on my order. I've had Raising Cane's before, but only once in Boston, Massachusetts. It was pretty decent there. I am so glad that the DC location tastes even better, and I definitely see myself becoming a recurring customer. The food is served fresh and it's quite tasty. I could be biased because I am a Southern Belle, and Raising Cane's originated in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Either way, it's certainly worth visiting on a recurring basis. If you are a Southerner in the DC/DMV area or someone from a non-Southern state that loves Raising Cane's & missing your fix, I highly recommend coming to their Union Station location. The line wasn't that long for the first day and they had a controlled entry to manage the crowd. But it was long enough to meet some eccentric people at the train station! The tables were not set up yet and were arranged to channel the line. I thought they looked pretty cool and found what appeared to be the signature of the artist who made them, and took a picture of it. Maybe one day it will slow down enough to actually sit down at one but something tells me it wont be any time soon. read more

Every thing is fried. Over fried to the point where you are just eating dry chicken and flavorless batter. You can add hot sauce to make it better. I don't get the hype. The ambiance is too loud to have a conversation unless you decide to talk over the all the noise becoming one with the noise. This was my first time having Raising Canes. For context, I was there at about 12:30pm and I did a mobile order. I ordered the 6 piece combo. As others have mentioned, it was a bit difficult to find the location. It's on the ground level sort of tucked in a corner (to the right side if you are entering Union Station). I had assumed it was in the food court initially. When I got there, it was pretty busy. I waited in what I thought was the mobile order line (because there was a sign that stated it was for mobile orders above the line I was in), but it wasn't actually a line? I'm not really sure. Once I went around that "line" and up to the mobile order counter, my food was already ready. The staff member distributing the mobile orders was friendly. Overall, I feel like it was just a bit chaotic in there, so I was glad that I ordered ahead and didn't wait in line to order. But I'm sure that was due to it being prime lunch time. As for the food, it was good, but I was a bit underwhelmed, unfortunately. I think because of all of the hype. Because it wasn't *bad* by any means. The chicken tenders were juicy and meaty and tasted very fresh. I thought they were seasoned pretty well. I had sort of expected them to be a bit crisper, but I did start to like the fact that they were mostly meat and that the breading was a thin coat. The fries were fine. The coleslaw was not my favorite (but I'm picky about coleslaw). The Texas toast was savory and buttery, but I didn't feel like it added much to the meal. The Canes sauce was also good, but I didn't think it was anything outstanding. My items were very hot and fresh, so no complaints there.
