I am updating my review because the owner and their office manager, Eric went out of their way to correct the situation. They explained to me that the owner was out of town and they had hired free lance lock technicians to work while he was gone and this particular one did not follow company guidelines. The owner and the office manager went out of their way to get in touch with me and were just as upset as I was from my experience and really went out of their way to get to the bottom of everything and deal with that particular employee. I didn't ask for anything, I just wanted them to know what happened and my experience and how I felt about it and they took it very seriously and followed up very quickly. I have never felt more comfortable in my life with a business especially one as important as protecting where you live. I'm really happy with this experience. For starters I called Tal at Good Lock and he was able to come same day. This is after I made a ton of phone calls to what seemed like every locksmith in the greater LA area. He was the only one that took the time to explain what the problem was and how we were going to fix it. He didn't try to scare me away like all the other calls I made by throwing prices at me and trying to sell me hard. His personality was quickly apparent and I felt at ease. In a nut shell I had a break in and wanted to upgrade to a higher security lock system. He showed up on time (he was very flexible) and was super courteous. Tal is awesome! I wanted to install a swing bar lock on my front door. Before I made the appointment, Tal sent me a picture of the swing bar lock and provided a one-two hour window for the appointment. Tal also sent a message when he was 20-30 minutes away to let me know he was on his way. Once he got to my unit, he went to work and installed the swing bar lock and made sure it was secure and worked properly. When I asked him about installation of a smart lock, he explained the various options that were available, showed me how smart locks work - using the app for the one he installed at his own home, and provided an estimate of the costs to install a smart lock for my front door. We have a newer-type glass back door that has extra latches in it in addition to its lock, and the latches stopped working. We called Tal based on reviews & that he was local, and he was able to come the next morning to check out the problem. He said that he hoped he could figure it out and fix it right then and there because these types of lock mechanisms have to be custom ordered and it would take 2-3 weeks, kinda like if you have a custom car and it takes a while for parts to come in. BUT after opening it up and seeing the broken part, he said "I can fix it." And he did. What I love about that? No upselling! He could fix it and he did and it was very inexpensive and bingo, our door is fixed and working again. His biz card has officially gone into "the drawer" for any locksmith needs we have. Tal quoted me $85 over the phone and gave me an ETA of 30 minutes. I asked him to call the landline when he was close by (cell was locked in the car along with my wallet). He called when he was 5 minutes away as promised and showed up with his cute little boy. Our interaction was less than 10 minutes.
