I had no idea what lock to buy for a custom made gate. Tal was fantastic in walking me through which lock and lock box to buy, every step of the way with multiple texts and calls. He even dropped off the lock box I needed with 20 minutes notice so I could get it to the gate fabricator in time. If not for Tal, the gate would have had the wrong lock box (and would have cost a lot of change it) or I wouldn't have been able get the lock I wanted. He also did a great job installing the lock. My front door lock cylinder was not lined up with the strike plate opening in the door jam. I had to force the lock to close, which was very frustrating. I looked on Yelp for a great locksmith, and found Good Lock to have lots of great reviews. I was a bit apprehensive because I was thinking that I would need a carpenter to modify the wood opening behind the strike plate. So, I decided to send Good Lock a request for a quote through Yelp, and Tal got back to me within a few minutes. Tal provided his phone number to call and schedule an appointment, and he also gave me a quote. The Monday after the Saturday when I first contacted Tal, he worked with me to come to my house Monday evening, which worked out great because it was right after I finished working. Tal was lighting fast, getting the alignment issue fixed, securing my loose door handle, and even replacing the missing special screw needed for the decorative dead bolt all done within like 10 minutes! Tal at Good Lock was terrific. I called him to rekey a mailbox lock. In less than an hour, he arrived and quickly drilled out and changed the mailbox lock, since I didn't have the original key. He was so fast and did such a great job, so I asked him if he was able to open an old safe--which I had also lost the key to years ago... and within a few minutes, he had the safe opened and I could finally retrieve all of the contents from a decade before! We knew something was up a couple months back when the little thumb lever on our front door handle was getting harder and harder to push. Hubby took a look, but the door around the latch was starting to fall apart, and there wasn't much he could do with the resources we had. Opening the door became a thing that required strong hands and a good push, until one day... It wouldn't open. We knew it was coming but didn't do anything, and finally were stranded outside our own front door. A quick yelp search brought Good Lock right up, and Tal was quick to respond, arriving in probably no more than 15 minutes. He diagnosed the problem, and quickly replaced the latch. The fix wasn't long term, though, he warned. So we contacted our landlord and were able to approve Tal's return to take care of a long-term fix. Tal helped arrange a visit again right away and filled the door, drilled a brand new hole, and restored our beautiful historic door handle to its rightful place. I feel really lucky to have chosen Good Lock to install new door hardware on my front door. I was in a time crunch with scheduling house painting and needed the hardware installed so my door could be painted next day. Tal went out of his way to come to my home in Altadena in the late afternoon to install the hardware so everything would remain on schedule! He blew in, pet my dog, set up, got to work, and was done in little over an hour. He even had to Bondo part of my door so it would be smooth and look nice for painting.
