I would recommend this place to people. Service was quick and the server was very attentive the whole time. She was very nice and helpful. The overall vibe was nice being able to listen to live music, eat, drink, and talk.

There's a row of boots on the wall, which I think is for display only and a call out to the time when they actually sold boots here. This historic building itself feels like a shotgun (long and narrow) and apparently once served as a Civil War warehouse and later the Sho-Bud Steel Guitar Company. To prolong our stay, we ordered cheeseburgers and beer (fries and onion rings were extra) for brunch. I tried to interest folks in their $6 "Recession Special" - A grilled or fried bologna sandwich piled high, with a bag of potato chips, a Moon Pie, and a cold Pabst Blue Ribbon (PBR) beer, but got no takers. We sat up on the balcony, which we had all to ourselves and with a nice view to the main floor below. Our waitresses were down home friendly, hard working, and good at what they were doing. We felt right at home and this was perhaps the most classic and authentic Nashville experience we had here. The band even wished my Happy Birthday. :)

Shout out to Derek Williams singing and playing his sax like a master - truly captivating the entire place. Next time we will eat here because EVERY dish that came out smelled and looked fantastic. I wasn't hungry, but my senses were telling me otherwise! If you're in Nashville, you must check this spot out! Jump, Jive, AND Wail! Woooo (that's worth 50 claps Mr. Williams!)

My fiancé and I are getting married next week, and they surprised us with complimentary champagne, which was such a nice touch. We started with the lobster bisque and the Caesar salad. The Caesar was your standard salad, nothing that stood out, but the lobster bisque was rich, flavorful, and easily one of the highlights. They also had a great selection of cocktails and beer to choose from. For our main we split a NY Strip with mashed potatoes. Now I'm usually a ribeye guy, but I have to say this steak was cooked to perfection. It melted in your mouth, and the butter they used was spectacular. The mashed potatoes were a touch dry for my taste, though my fiancé loved them. The best part might be the atmosphere. You can feel the history the moment you walk in, and the live piano playing in the background ties the whole experience together. We will absolutely be back!

But if you're looking for an authentic, old-school Nashville music experience, this IS the place! It's crowded. It's hot. Personal space does not exist. Claustrophobics should plan accordingly. The night we were there, they had a bluegrass jam going, and it was fantastic. Close your eyes and you could imagine yourself sitting in some West Virginia holler listening to a bunch of incredibly talented musicians just playing because they love to play. It was uncomfortable, crowded, hot, completely authentic--and I enjoyed every minute of it. The Station Inn is Nashville the way you hope Nashville still exists.

Once inside, people make a mad dash to claim their seats, and they squeeze in as tight as they can. Popcorn, Jack's-like pizza served on paper plates and buckets of beer are available, and the line is long. The music here IS phenomenal, without a doubt. That alone is worth the visit, but be prepared to wait in line and feel like a sardine stuffed in a tin. Not for the claustrophobic,
