The one slice was bigger than most personal pan pizzas you get at most restaurants AND it was only $4.50!! Delicious and a bargain. The place was hopping. Lots of people who know this place is great were streaming in and out the door. We just sat at the counter but evidently there is a larger seating area upstairs. What a gem of a place we come once a year to Covington and always make it a point to stop at the Bourbon bar upstairs and have some pizza. Stopped in here to purchase some pre-made pizza slices they had available at the counter (the wait was too long for a custom whole pizza). It was good but nothing too amazing. However, the slices are huge! The staff was friendly, and we managed to find some seats on their second floor to eat where they have a bar. Goodfellas Pizzeria is our GO-TO place. We love coming here everytime we're in the area to say hey to our friends that work there and to grab a quick slice of pizza. Quite honestly, it's hard to walk past and smell it and just not go in. We went here on our first date night of meeting so they are our biggest fans there. Huge shoutout to our favorite bouncer Leroy! He is great! We love the food and want to try more of what the menu has to offer. We love the pizza of course and our other favorite is the meatballs. They are served with fresh basil and mozzarella on top. They are truly delicious! Many people don't realize there is actually a bar on the top portion of the restaurant. There are stairs tucked down the end of the restaurant that lead you to the fun. It's never been over crowded while we were there but there are always people, it's a vibe. The bartenders are professionals. They put every effort into every drink and give you a show while they are preparing it. It's entertainment right before your eyes. They have cozy leather couches and tables up there as well. We grab a drink, pizza and cozy up and people watch or talk to Leroy upstairs! Goodfellas Pizza has been on my radar for some time now. I've heard so many good things..plus it's only a couple blocks from my work..not quite sure why it took me so long to check it out. Well..with a little bit of nudging from fellow Yelper Tom J. I decided today was as good a day as any to take a nice walk and check this place out. I'm sure glad that I did. I had me a damn good slice of pizza. I arrived shortly after their lunch rush it seemed so the place was empty and the employees were cleaning up the seating area. They didn't have too much of a selection left over at that time of slices to choose from. Tom had suggested I try a slice of plain cheese just to get a good taste and sense of how the pizza was. They didn't have any plain cheese..so I went with a slice of Pepperoni. These slices are HUGE..I mean, it's New York style and that always entails a big slice..but out of all the New York style I've had in the past..I don't think I've had a single slice this large..anywhere. The crust was nice and crisp..the cheese had a great consistency..slightly salty but in no way overly salty. The sauce tasted just fine. They didn't go overboard with it which is always good..just enough to compliment the slice nicely..and not acidic at all that I could tell..which is always a plus seeing how a lot of sauces out there are. The pepperoni's were monstrously sized..like at least twice the size of a silver dollar. They tasted good and did not in any way take away from the taste of the slice. I'm not the best at putting food descriptions into words..but let's just say it's one of the better New York style slices I have ever had. The staff was friendly. As I said earlier, they were busy cleaning up the restaurant and probably prepping for their next rush in a couple hours. Didn't have much interaction with them outside of when I ordered the slice..but I felt welcome to sit there and eat. At a little over three dollars..the slice was soo worth it. It was enough to stuff me to the brim. Can't beat that for $3 and some change. So yeah..this might become a regular spot for me now. Not a New Yorker, but I've been quite a few times, and I've gotten obligatory slices from shops around Brooklyn and Manhattan, as every self respecting food tourist must. I've seen weird things on NYC pies, like the "Cheeseburger Pie" complete with iceberg lettuce and pickles, and the "Mac & Cheese Pie". I'm hoping that these are anomalies on the NYC Pizza scene. NYC pizza places have a certain vibe though. The thing you get at Goodfellas is kinda the same feel. A glass case with a couple or so mixed-topping pies. I always grab a couple slices that are already made. They toss them in the oven for a minute or two to heat them up, as in NYC. They're big slices, foldable, chewy crust like you'll have in The City, and two will fill. There really isn't another pizza place around that gives you the same NYC feel. They already had a great variety (pepperoni, spinach & sun dried tomatoes, pineapple) with more great choices to follow. Taste, quality, texture, and service were all on point during our visit. We got a large pie with one specialty on one side and another on the other. As long as the bases are the same, they are happy to split them. For a first visit, this really allowed us to get a feel for their flavor profiles. We all really enjoyed our food. The caddy of seasonings (cheese, red peppers, garlic powder, Italian herbs, salt, and black pepper,) was a nice touch. Basically each bite could be customized. Everyone who worked there seemed to enjoy their jobs, and all made positive comments about their pizza. There are several dining areas. I've been to this pizza place several times while under the influence, and I have always found their pizza to be the perfect thing to end a night out. It wasn't until I finally tried it for lunch that I decided it's time for a review. Sometimes the beer glasses make food taste better, but I can safely say this pizza is just as good while stone cold sober. I love the pepperoni, and my husband is a fan of several of their other flavors. Plus, we're both fans of their gigantic breadsticks and garlic sauce. Seriously...the pizza slices make me think of Joe's Pizza in the West Village of New York City. The slices are large, hot, and the crust has a a bit of a crackling crunch, but still nice texture. They got the sauce and cheese ratio right too... Sometimes you order a slice of pizza and the cheese has sucked up all of the sauce. Not here! You can still taste the sauce. They have a few tables out in front, because the inside of the restaurant is very narrow, with stools and side counter seating. But, the real gem is the backyard bar and patio. Haven't been there yet in the evening, but during lunch, it is a delightful break to step into that patio area with a cold beer or soda, and a piece of ZA! ADDED BONUS! They have a GREAT lunch special served 7 days a week from 11am-3pm. It consists of any slice of pizza with a side item (A salad, or One breadstick, or a desert), and a draft of Miller High Life... Although the pizza here is amazing, I have to write about the bizarre experience my family had here the other night. We seated ourselves outside on the 2nd floor and after we had been sitting for a couple of minutes the woman at the only other table on the patio told us there there was a baby bird under our table. We looked and sure enough, a baby bird was wobbling around and we could hear mom nearby. We decided to switch tables in the hopes the mom would come and assist the baby. We moved and a minute or two later the mom did appear next to the baby and was guiding it and chirping around it. The bartender came out soon after this to clear some plates and move chairs, my daughter warned him about the baby bird and he just grunted and went on about his work. He went back inside but reappeared a moment later with a towel in his hand and he scooped up the baby bird, my daughter said no, no, it's still alive at which he again grunted and then proceeded to ignore us and go back inside with the bird. Our table of four and the other table of two outside sat there with our mouths hanging open. It was the weirdest thing. Not one word was ever uttered by the bartender during the whole encounter. When my husband checked out, he told the bartender why he wasn't getting a tip, his lack of communication, his attitude, and the whole handling of the bird situation to which the bartender replied, "Well, it wasn't your bird". No, it wasn't our bird, we don't own a bird and we sure wouldn't bring one to restaurants if we had one, but that wasn't the point now, was it? Then the bartender told my husband he didn't care one way or another if he got a tip, he had been working for 8 straight days. We get it, guy, you are too tired/sick of work, customers, baby birds, whatever. Then quit. Stop making people's visits to the restaurant so weird and disturbing. In any case, the pizza was great but the atmosphere and the odd bartender with yellow glasses were not. Maybe we will go to another location going forward. read more

Who doesn't love a good pizza? Seriously. I have been here many times and in both the downtown Cincinnati and this location, the pizza always hits the spot. Sometimes they do not have the "exact" pizza I am in the mood for, but I mean, that's a first world problem. Suck it up and enjoy this handmade tossed pizza. The upstairs has a nice place to overlook Main St and all the traffic both pedestrian and motor. I will say that the upstairs bartender seemed a bit off and wasn't the most friendly, but we didn't let that get to us. I think she may have been miffed that we brought up our pizzas to eat, but whatever, it's a pizza place remember?! The downstairs patio is cozy and yet seems large due to the tiered area. The WiFi is a nice touch so you can instasnapbook your delicious pizza to all your friends. Great vibes!! the specialty cocktails were great and very original. The crowd was small for 10p on a Friday so someone in our group requested a mocktail, which are hard to find and we were excited to get a good one knowing that Goodfellas Lounge is known to be a real cocktail bar with ingredients and knowledgeable bartenders on staff. However we received a $7 glass of ginger beer and lime juice. We are more than happy to pay the $7 for an actual mocktail but to receive only ginger beer i was a bit frustrated. I expected a $3-$5 charge, $7 seemed steep for the sole fact that there was no fruit muddled or extra effort exerted in the creation of the drink.
