Had heard a lot about this place and the one in OTR. It lived up to the hype. The 3 guys working were very friendly with us and talked with us while we ordered and waited for food. I wasn't able to read the big menu behind the counter well because of small writing but they have plenty of smaller menus at the counter to look at. Fortunately it was later than most people's dinner time so I had plenty of time to decide and didn't have to wait long. The New York style slice I got was fantastic. I only got one slice because that's all I needed. It was at least the size of my face. What made it even better, though, was that the crust was crispy enough to where I could hold the slice up without it flopping, but not so done that it tasted at all burnt. The pepperoni taste was definitely present but not overpowering, which is how I like it. If you get garlic bread, you hopefully have someone to share it with. It's delicious and the marinara dipping sauce was great but each bread stick is about 2 feet long. The only thing I think I could possibly critique is that if you don't have a big appetite or just want a snack this probably isn't the place for you. At least for pizza and breadsticks, I didn't get a good look at any subs. They have a nice variety of regular and adult beverages. I've been curious about cidergeist lately and saw they had cans so I was happy to give it a try. Not the best drink I've ever had but pretty good with my food. One other thing I was really impressed with is the back patio. It's tucked away from the busy street so it's not very loud and you can hear music playing. Plenty of tables and chairs, a bar (although it wasn't open at the time I'm sure it's a great place to relax), and string lights that give it a bit of charm IMO. LOVE this pizza and the breadsticks the length of your arm is a fun gimmick! Most pepperoni pizzas leave me feeling blah later but I have no issues with this pizza-possibly superior ingredients? I also enjoy being able to order online b/c sometimes I just don't feel like talking to someone to order pizza. Parking sucks being in Mainstrasse but I've only ever picked up pizza so finding a parking spot usually isn't needed. My husband and I usually tag team it and one of us gets dropped off to pick up the pizza while the other circles the block. It makes it so much easier! read more

Goodfellas is the closest thing you're going to get to New York style pizza, not in NYC. It's pretty close to the real thing. The best thing about Goodfellas is that you can go during lunch time (11 AM to 3 PM) and get the "Lunch Special". The lunch special is a slice of pizza the size of your head. Either a salad, a dessert (Brownie, Cannoli, or a Big Cookie.) or a breadstick that is so big you have to fold it for it fit onto your tray/plate with your choice of sauce for the dipping. You also get your choice of a soda, Ale 8 or a PBR on tap. All for $6. This is an amazing deal and if you're going with a friend, I suggest you both do the lunch special, one of you get a breadstick, one of you get a dessert and split them both. It's like a full meal with not getting overall full with just bread. They have amazing pizza. I have tried almost all of the different types of pizza toppings they have and they all are amazing. My favorite is when they make just the single slices of chicken, bacon, and cheese. That pizza is like an orgasm to the taste buds. haha. That's the only way I can describe it and do its justice. Downstairs they have a handful of beers on tap, but if that's not enough for you, you can go upstairs and eat your pizza at the full Wise Guys bar. It's a really nice bar and has plenty of selection of drinks for you. They also have a nice outdoor patio that you can eat at, don't make the mistake I did of leaving your food back there by itself for a minute, though. The birds in Covington don't miss an opportunity to come snatch your food. Haha. Other notable things about the Covington Goodfellas is that it's open late, the guys who work here are always cool and nice, and the music selection always gets two thumbs up. read more

All I can say is "finally"! I've finally found my "go-to" pizza place in Northern Kentucky. I am a bit of a pizza junkie and have been in search of a quality pizza place ever since I moved here about a year ago. I'll always be searching, but it's nice to know I have Goodfellas to count on. I tried it out tonight for the first time. Amongst four if us we ordered a 16" pizza, two extra large bread sticks and a Caprese salad - each were fantastic. I loved the sauce (which I'm told is home made), crust and all the toppings (tastes like very high quality cheese). I can't say enough good things about this place; head and shoulders above the other pizza establishments in the area in my opinion. read more

I love New York style pizza and Goodfellas succeeds in creating an excellent option. Plus, who doesn't love the option to buy pizza by the slice!!? And the slices are HUGE and so so good! On my most recent visit, I came in for #CincyPizzaWeek and ordered the Meatball Pizza (it has a name and I can't remember it and it's not on their regular menu) and I was definitely impressed. Meatballs, red sauce, ricotta, red onions, and finished with fresh basil, ohhhhh yes it was tasty! While we were waiting for our pizza, we also ordered a couple of their garlic breadsticks with garlic and marinara sauces on the side. These breadsticks are no joke; they are massive and delicious! One big downside is there isn't much seating to be had, so coming with a group is pretty much out of the question unless the weather is warm and you are able to enjoy sitting outside. But the staff is so fun and friendly and chatty that it pretty much makes up for it. read more

We were in town visiting, so we decided to have a late lunch at this great little pizza shop on Main Street! The pizza slices were impressively large, but when reheated they didn't taste as evenly warm as a fresh pizza. The breadsticks were also unbelievably large, but also a little dry. We had never been there before so we learned from the stoic worker that the seating is upstairs, along with the bar. So we got our food, one draft beer, and took it upstairs. Found a couch and table to sit down to eat, but when we went up to the bar to order bottled drinks, the bartender told us we were "in line" that he had a large order ahead of him. He didn't even ask us what we wanted, just that it would "be a while." So we sat back down to eat our warm, dry pizza while he took on his "large order." We seriously wanted a domestic bottled beer that would have taken him all of 30 seconds to get, but instead he was entertaining onlookers at the bar making craft cocktails and telling them how he has only been doing it since August, even though he looks like he has been doing it forever. The only word that describes his cocktail making skills while you are salivating for a cold beer is ridiculous...shaking shakers in the air, hitting them hard on the bar and then waiting for the oohs and aahs as he garnished them with sparkles. He was super proud of himself, while his other customers were parched. About 30-40 minutes later as we were getting ready to leave, he stopped by and apologized, but he didn't offer us anything, just an excuse that he thought he was going to be a slow Saturday. At that point we wanted to get out of there and find a place that has employees who can multi-task or at least realize that when there are three people and only one has a drink, something is missing. It will be a slow Saturday the next time we are in town because we won't be going there. read more

Great quaint place on Main Street in Covington KY (two stores in Lexington KY and expanding to Nashville, Louisville, & Columbus). Pizza sold by the pie or slice. Slices are huge! Fresh toppings, tasty sauce, and chewy, airy, home made dough. Menu offers sub sandwiches, calzones, salads, cheese sticks, deserts, etc. But their specialty is pizza. And special it is! Grab a slice, the breadstick that, cut in half, covers an entire plate. And don't forget a side of boss sauce. Fair prices, friendly-knowledgeable staff, and a stocked bar out back offering some of KY's finest bourbon. Seating is limited. More seating outside, in the back. I love Goodfellas, especially for a quick slice. The pizza is a generous size, and is everything you'd expect from a Net York pizza. I've never been mad about the pizza, but there are some consistency issues, such as the bottom being a little burnt, to them not really having the right kind of pizzas prepared during peak hours. Cheese and Pepperoni should always be on deck, especially before having a three topping with chicken, artichoke, and jalapeño. Upstairs has a really cool prohibition themed bar. They have the best mixed bourbon cocktails in Covington, which is saying a lot considering that there are two bourbon specific bars on the same street. I am a huge fan of the bartenders. I highly recommend going upstairs for a drink when you are done with your pizza, or even better yet take your pizza upstairs with you. read more

The waits can sometimes be very long I feel like they could maybe use a better system. Met at goodfellas to get pizza and have a couple drinks for the Bengals game. We waited 30 minutes and had to figure out on our own that there wasn't service. We were on second floor and bartender more interested in watching tv than serving guests. Pretty awful experience. Had friends from out of town, I felt embarrassed after taking them there. The is a very small place to eat in, but the family and I enjoyed it none the less. If nothing else, we were attracted to the quaintness. The pizza is very good. ON a very quiet Friday afternoon, I made my way to Goodfellas on Main St in Covington. I went specifically because of the special pizza I had read about in the Cincy Pizza Week promotion, No Noodle Lasagne Pie. I adore ricotta on a pizza pie. I wish I had the name of the young man that greeted me upon arrival, took my order and made my pie. He was the epitome of what any place would want in food service. He greeted me with a smile, was enthusiastic about my choice and smiled when he offered me an "enjoy" as I was leaving with my box of warm, delicious smells. Now, because it was CIncy Pizza Week, you already know I got a terrific price as an incentive for trying different pizza options around the city instead of sticking with my personal favorite all the time, but I have to say the flavor mix on this pizza sparkled my tastebuds and the crust was delightfully chewy. In the interest of honestly, I really like a variety of crusts, both thick and cracker thin, but they must be freshmade, not preformed, store cardboard ones. This was of the puffy edge variety, the kind that pulls back when you bite in, and tasted fresh. It also stood up to the ricotta spread over it just fine. This was no lightweight pizza. The ricotta was topped with onion, meatballs and strips of basil it was spot on just what I was hoping it would be. read more
