This is a great Goodwill. They have a fantastic book selection and I always leave here with an armful of awesome books for only a few dollars. The clothes can be hit or miss but are well-organized and easy to look through. I actually once bought a Ralph Lauren jacket here for $2! After doing some research I found that similar jackets usually retail for around $150, so it was an amazing deal. read more

This is without a doubt the cleanest, most well organized, nicest Goodwill I've ever been in. Even the book section, a disaster area in most Goodwill stores, is organized as well as a bookstore would be. The staff is friendly, the selection good and there is even a rewards program. The rewards program seems to be a Denver thing and not necessarily specific to this branch, but as I am new to town it's new to me and I think I'll like it. The selection at thrift stores is always variable depending primarily on where the store is located and secondarily on what those people have brought in lately, but I feel like my odds of finding good things are greater here than at any other Goodwill store I've ever been to. read more

This has to be the best Goodwill in Denver. Every time I'm in town I stop here..sometimes multiple times in the same day because stuff moves so fast. I have always found the staff to be super helpful and friendly and have never had a bad experience. Most recently I was helped out by Tony in the furniture department. I had the good fortune to learn a little of his story and found him to be a focused, dedicated, hardworking and caring individual. He has big goals outside of work, but you can tell he really cares about doing a good job and seriously APPLIES himself to the task at hand. So awesome to see in the current job market. Went with my sister to look for deals. Found a great pair of shoes for $3.99. She found jewelry she liked for real cheap. They have 10% Senior Discount and every Saturday in December you can get 50% off. The store was a little disorganized, but I attribute that to so many people being there going thru everything. I am now a regular at this Goodwill. We completed our set of bar glasses here when we found champagne glasses and brandy snifters. We've also found some interesting glasses in other shapes as well. I've found super-cheap clothing and some vintage Pyrex items in great condition. The prices are pretty good, though some items aren't the bargain-bin-blowout prices you might find in other thrift stores or at garage sales. But I don't mind that. It's still cheaper than buying new, and some items simply can't be found new. Plus you are supporting community services. AND you get to shop in a clean, well-lit, well-organized store. Don't forget to check to see which tag color is 50% off that day for extra bargains, too. Another bright spot: this locations takes everything. While some thrift stores won't accept Christmas decorations, computer items, and more, this place does. Got a broken necklace? They'll take the beads, combine them in a bag or jar with other beads, and sell them to crafters. Same with little bits of yarn left from projects or other such things. They will recycle or salvage what can't be resold. (But this doesn't mean you can bring them your broken glasses or other trash. Let's be realistic, people.) If you can make it on a weekday, it's much more manageable and there are more items being put out all the time. read more

This is one of the biggest Goodwills I have been too! The whole bottom level is just furniture. The ground floor is misc goods, clothes, and books. Too bad I couldn't find anything at this place! Maybe cause it is one of the busier goodwills but the quality stuff was lacking here. The help was friendly (as usual) though. read more

The prices for used products are ridiculous!! Goodwill Industries is a non-profit which brings in $5.7 Billion tax free dollars. Where does that go? Their ads on their radio station say they train employees and keep things out of the landfill. It doesn't cost $5.7 billion tax-free dollars to do that. read more

If I could give this 3.5 stars, I would. There are 2 really positive things about this goodwill location, but also two annoynces. First the good: 1.) This store is not only very large, but also the most organized location ive been inside. It looks more like what a professional retail store should look like than a thrift store with inventory randomly scattered everywhere. 2.) The staff is super friendly as opposed to the apathy i see in other goodwill locations. The bad: 1.) There is literally 1 bar of bandwidth in the store - so if you want to compare the price of something on your phone to something you see in the store, it will be very difficult. The slow bandwidth also resulted in the store checkout registers working slowly. 2.) CD's were 1.99 each here, as opposed to .99 that i have seen at other locations. I usually buy huge lots of cd's, but instead of the .99 cent rate, i got a 15% discount from my final purchase. read more

Today I bought a few things including a pre lit christmas tree that was in the window. After Paying for my Items I asked if there was a box for it as it had new assembly tags on it. I had purchased another tree 2 yrs ago and it came with a box. the gentleman who helped me told me that they keep all of the tree boxes down stairs. But before that the new supervisor who I was told Justin was training her by and another worker. She had paged him to come upstairs and give a price check. He in a rush came over after being asked how much the tree was said it was $20 " well charge him 19.99." then hurried off. As I mentioned I asked for the box. Sylvia said she would go ask him(Justin) I told her that I would go wait by the tree ,taking it apart and noticed it had no cord. After more than 10 minutes I walked over to the register waited my turn in line again. When I got to it another nice lady asked me if I had a return. I asked her if they were getting the box for the tree. she said no there wasn't one . Sylvia walked over after as I had decided to return the tree due to it having no power cord and no box. Sylvia and the lady were trying to process the return. They couldn't get the codes to work. the code was another employee's. Justin came over after being called again, asked them if they did the blah blah they said they weren't going to use another employees code. Justin put in a code and left. Sylvia apologized for it taking so long that "he (Justin) is supposed to be training me. The other lady told Sylvia not to let him go until he shows you this. The lady apologized and thanked me for my patience. (I was trying hard ) Sylvia had to call Justin again to help again with the Return as I had paid with cash. Justin was very short at this point toward Sylvia and myself. And I was tired of the rigmarol. He handed me a card and a receipt. and started to walk away. I saw it was a store credit card. He said that since I paid cash I get store credit. I had never heard of this or saw anything saying that. I was fed up with dealing with the tree return lasting over half an hour at this point. I told him I paid cash I want my money back that if i cant get my cash that Is never come back to the store. Justin's actions and attitude toward his coworker/employees and me had pushed me over the edge. He said they don't do that and went over to the phone and picked it up. I said never mind. I gave to the store credit slip to a fellow customer walking by, and left with a few colorful words.( I apologize for those words) read more

This is a super nice Goodwill. Like super duper nice. I went for stuffed animals for my dogs and wound up with bedding for my rabbits and a hat I couldn't pass up. Plus there was that chair I probably should have gotten. Anyways, this goodwill has tons of stuff that is all neatly organized. It's clean, well lit and they have a ton of new stuff for the discerning thrift shopper. This is the nicest thrift store I've been to in the last 10 years. Okay, I want to like this location so much , as much as others happen to but I just don't see anything special. It always looks ransacked messy in here. But also feels wayyy dirty. Everywhere I donate my stuff here often but I just don't get thrilled shopping in here. I give it and will still probably give it multiple chances purely because of the convenience factor it being close by, but I feel a lot of their things are very overpriced for the condition. There's not a lot of kids stuff to choose from either. The dressing rooms. Oh my. Okay 3 item limits are dandy and all but unless they're gonna have someone babysitting my stuff so I can swap out and make sure others don't pick up while I'm trying on... I'll make sure to ignore that... because. That's just not feasible nor gonna happen. The lighting in the fitting rooms doesn't really help either as it's awkward and not evenly lit. Soo... not even always helpful to try on stuff... Customer service on the other hand is what causes me to give it two stars... without the nice staff I probably would not come here. Being from out-of-town, I had to try out the vintage and thrift stores on Broadway. From the pricey Buffalo exchange to the goodwill, I was very happy to see that the good ole goodwill pulled through, as always. There was not a big of a selection in the kids clothes dept but plenty of slacks, jeans, and tops for women. I also found some cute pumps half off! Prices were decent. If you have to visit one thrift store in Denver, this is it. Like any thrifting paradise, one has to dig a little. You don't trip over diamonds on the sidewalk. I loathe reviewers too lazy to put in the effort to find gems. The Dude abides here. Thrift store inventory is largely a function of the neighborhood, and this is the dumping grounds for West Wash Park, Baker, and to a lesser extent the Golden Triangle and Capitol Hill. Capiche? Sure not every thrift store is optimal on every day, but I have replaced half of my fine wardrobe with designer wear over the last 2 years, and I can be very picky. I'm happy when honest men make the New Year's closet clean-out decision that they're never going to be a size 32 waist again - in this lifetime. I love you, man. Some dude wore a $1000 Givenchy tuxedo twice - all I had to do was alter the waist and now I have something to wear in my next movie or in my casket. Interesting Goodies: An audiophile friend of mine frequently finds top-notch speakers from dumb dumpers. Others find cool jewelry (one of the 20 things you should never buy new), or killer authentic-Frenchy copper cookware. If you can't upgrade at least some of your wardrobe here, then you either cannot see, or you plain suck. Bad with caveat: The usual repetitious John Grisham and Sidney Sheldon crap, but depending on the day, you can nab a killer CD or two. Lower level mostly forgettable, but you can find *very* rare books on the right day. You've got to play to win. Warning: My better half is the absolute meanest, badass thrifter west of the Mississippi. Also highly recommended is the Goodwill near the Tar-zhay in Glendale. Both are excellent. And you don't want to f*ck with my better half when it comes to evaluating thrift. No matter which thrift store you patronize, remember that you're re-purposing goods, and not increasing the carbon footprint of a similar new product. Thrifting is one of my guilty pleasures. I'm a bit of a shopaholic with expensive taste. I know "thrifting" and "expensive taste" are never used together but there's an exception here. This goodwill is huge and constantly has "new" clothing. I have found myself shopping here during their 50% off weekends and always find hidden gems. I've found gently used name brand clothing including Loft, Express, Zara, Ann Taylor, Banana Republic, and so many more of my favorites! With their discounts the maximum I've paid on a single item is $2.50. Yep, imagine buying a beautiful Zara blazer at such a great price! This is the perfect place to feed my shopping addiction and satisfy my like for high quality clothing. read more

I came in here to shop for an outfit for a thrift shop themed party I was attending. The idea was to find goofy outfits that could only be found at thrift stores. Well..... I found nothing here. But that's because they seem to only stock their racks with truly quality items. Everything was clean, organized, and pretty easy to sort through. I'm used to the Arc further down Broadway where everything is a hot mess and the smell of urine lingers. Let's make this simple. They have great clothes. They have great shoes. They have great knickknacks. A valiant effort is put toward keeping the racks and shelves semi-organized by size and product. It's well-lit. You can find some crazy steals if you're willing to spend some time digging. The folks who work there get serious kudos for how much they bust ass and how prompt and polite they are at checkout. Downside? Bathrooms. I had to wade into the women's room the last time I was there because my 3-year old HAD to go. Nothing like holding your daughter aloft and aiming her butt over the toilet while suppressing the urge to gag because you're wishing you had on rubber boots and a hazmat suit. That was just unsanitary; it made some of the dingiest bar bathrooms look good. Somebody fix their plumbing - they seem to have repeat issues with their toilets. Ooh, also? The parking lot is an intimidating place for pedestrians. Drivers, remember - lots of people walking around. Slow it down a bit. read more

This Goodwill has ruined me for other thrift stores. I loved it so much when I lived in Denver that I wouldn't have dreamed of endorsing it because I didn't want more competition. But I don't live in Denver anymore, so now you can get the goods. Unlike the Goodwill on Leetsdale, the parking lot is spacious so I don't have to weigh the buying-used savings against my car insurance deductible. Jesus, that's an awful parking lot. It doesn't smell weird in there. Good, no, it doesn't smell good, but it doesn't smell like the lovechild of mothballs and plastic thermos filled with spoiled milk. While I love thrift shopping, I hate sifting through junk to find the stuff I want. That's not a problem here. Everything is so well-organized, from the books to the housewares to the clothing to the furniture in the basement. All you have to do is single out your color/author/function, that you'll either find what you're looking for, or know that they must not have it. I've had some good scores here. I've passed up some Prada, Marc Jacobs, and Burberry items here because they were ugly and I'm too lazy to turn that stuff around on eBay. I have, however, purchased an entire wardrobe of office-wear (all J. Crew, Banana Republic, Ann Taylor, and other nice-but-not-runway stuff) for about $60. It was a rad bonus discount day, but still. One more thing: this is great spot for picture frames. Go to Goodwill first! read more

I've never shopped here, but during our biannual donation runs they are always help us unload our car with a smile and be sure to give us our receipt for tax purposes! My friend (who makes probably 60K a year) shops here, and I told him that he should leave the great prices for people that really NEED the break, but hey, what can you do? With everyone's 401k crashing I'm sure the demographics are changing, and quickly. The other thing that stands out to me is the quality of this store. It's clean, it's orderly, and it does NOT feel like a discount/donation/charity store (unlike some of the other ghetto Goodwill stores I have seen). It's got tons of great treasures ready for decorating a new place, but it's also great if you're into upcycling. I've taken lots of frames and a dresser and repainted them. This store is crazy packed any day of the week, at any time. Be sure to sign up for a Blue Card if you're planning to shop here a lot (10% off any purchase of $25+) and grab a "deals" calendar that lets you know on which days certain color stickers are 1/2 off. I learned today that Thursday is the best day to shop here because you get two colors of stickers for 1/2 off! HOORAY DEALS! A few years back, I worked with a Hungarian girl who only shopped at thrift stores, and she gave me a brilliant piece of advice. If you want to be successful shopping at thrift stores, go to neighborhoods were people dress well. And wealthy neighborhoods. It seems so simple, but it's true. From neighborhood to neighborhood, Goodwills have a different character. This one is in the Baker District, which isn't packed with wealthy people, but rather hipsters. Annoying, yes... pretentious, yes... but they do have alright taste in clothes and donate good stuff. There are some really good finds to be had here. And if you are willing to shop out of season, you can get some real bargains. My sister walked out with an entire new wardrobe of business casual gear, all nice brands like J Crew and Banana Republic for a mere $80. I found a few cute essentials, and got them for less than an "ironic vintage" t-shirt from Buffalo Exchange. You do need to work a little harder to find the good stuff, as there is also the usual thrift store mank. But that's part of the fun. All I know is you'd be silly to pay Buffalo Exchange prices when 1 mile away is this gem. read more

I remember the first time I came here. I thought that the Pearly Gates opened up because this was the best Goodwill that I had ever been to. And yes, I realize I threw in a Biblical reference. Get over it. The gates opened when I saw the hardwood floors (pretty fancy, huh?). I read somewhere that this was an old art gallery. This Goodwill is huge, with two floors. The top floor is clothing and house wares, while the basement is filled with old furniture. Most of the (women's, men's, and children's) clothing is very good quality, and I actually want to buy these clothes. I don't just come here to find something for a costume party, but for everyday kinds of clothing. Usually the best sales are on Saturdays, as well. You still have the high-rise and acid wash jeans (for both men and women), the reindeer sweaters, and the Hammer pants (Can't Touch This), but the other clothes make up for these fashion devastations. Sometimes you can find a designer label here. Even if it isn't my size, I'm tempted to buy it, but I usually put it back. If you need some new business outfits (blouses, slacks, blazers, dress shirts, etc.) I would recommend coming here before heading out to the mall. Sure, someone else has worn the clothes before, but one good wash, and no one will know except you. There's a big book and CD selection in the back of the store, but good luck finding something you want. It's not alphabetically organized. But I think it's about $1 a book if you find something you like. I've left empty-handed the last few times I've been here, but I just keep coming back. I don't why. It just draws me in. I think since so many know about this wanna-be euphoria, more people are coming in. I might as well tell you that the best time to go is on Saturday morning, 8 A.M. for the best selection and pricing. I walked in and was in thrift store heaven!! No smell, clothes were neatly organized on racks and not tossed all over, nice staff, tons of selection....yes yes yes!! I walked out with bags full of goodies and saved so much money. I bought several pairs of Banana Republic pants and shirts, Gap and J Crew shirts, and a great winter jacket. I love the book store in the back. I left with 3 cd's and 4 paperbacks. I spent a bit under $70!! Sad to say, I didn't even make it downstairs, but I know I will be back! I agree with Fiona B - this Goodwill will put all others to shame. It is massive, clean, well-organized, and rivals, say, Macy's in terms of selection and layout. I can't entirely wrap my mind around how awesome this Goodwill is!! Women's clothes, men's clothes, children's clothes, accessories, shoes, books, toys, home decorations you don't need (or want), toys - you can really find anything you want here. If you can't find something, you probably aren't looking hard enough. I can't say enough good things about this Goodwill. If and when you visit, you will see for yourself. As a native Texan I heard the legend of the massive 2 story Goodwill in downtown Denver. So, when I was in town, I had to check it out. I was sorely dissapionted. Some of the prices were nearly triple that of the Goodwills I shop at in Texas. For instance, an older pair of no brand shoes with scuffs were $20. They would be $6 at any one of the Goodwills I frequent back home. There was a ton of merchandise, but I still struggled to find anything I loved. I left with a Nic + Zoe cardigan for $7. To be fair, it was extremely busy and I'm sure the good items go fast, but that didn't make up for the high prices. read more

Ah...recession. Ah...Goodwill. It's like peanut butter and jelly, just perfect together! Okay, I kid, I kid... I am fairly tall and have never ever been able to find anything that fits me in a Goodwill. I guess peeps my size like to hold onto what they got. My poor luck at finding additions for my wardrobe in a Goodwill aside, they are always fun places to spend a lazy afternoon perusing the passed-on's and hand-me-down's of others. The Goodwill on South Broadway used to be a furniture store selling some really tacky and wtf?!? type furniture. Surprisingly none of the former merchandise wound up at this particular Goodwill... This former furniture dumper is now the nicest looking Goodwill I have ever seen outside of Malibu. The smashing location and bang-up interior might be good cause as to why there is absolutely so little of anything actually worth buying, however the look of the interior alone is worth a stop inside. Goodwill shopping is never a quick experience and given the size of this place, 2 floors, be prepared to spend some time inside this golden temple of Goodwill's. My favorite part is the little book nook or alcove situated in the back part of the store (south-west corner). I found several quality finds, the most expensive being $1.99, a couple of which served as terrific spontaneous gifts for friends. (can't go wrong giving a book) On a side note, this Goodwill also seems to attract some of the most attractive Goodwill shoppers I have ever seen. I don't know if it is the economy or the hipster location, but there were some smashing Goodwill shoppers who looked more Goodwill hobbyist than Goodwill target clientele. Budget home decorating at it's best! Be ready to go some days and see absolutely nothing and other days find a shopping cart full. It's always packed. So packed I can see claustrophobia haunting many faces. Avoid the weekends if you can. Be patient and don't give up on this one! I discovered this Goodwill sometime late in 2011 and have shopped a few times a month since. I'm a thrift store junkie, and (somewhat) know what types of things I can expect to find, and what is generally good/not so good at each of the stores I most frequent. Not so with this Goodwill though. My best finds have always been random, for example a KitchenAid blender, new in the box, priced $19.99. WIN! The book nook is charming and exceptionally maintained. Loads of titles, in great condition. Recently I didn't find anything in the clothing sections but I did leave with 8 books. The locked displays usually have several authentic designer label handbags in recent styles. I've even spotted leather bags in great pre-loved condition. Lots of women's office fashion. Dress pants and button downs from Express, Banana Republic, Limited, Ann Taylor, J. Crew.. you get the point. Lots of jeans. Not much for small sizes in either though. Tip- skip the children's section altogether. Quite possible I just happened to go in on a less than amazing day, but lately the women's clothing has been consistently scarce (for me at least). read more

I was super impressed with how easy it was to try on; do it yourself style, but so civil!
