Surprisingly, there is a really large media section here. Lots of books and movies! No furniture if that is what you are looking for. Half price on a certain color tag on Sundays. Some lamps, and a great selection of purses. The clothes are definitely a little more money than other Goodwill stores, and I was bummed to find they overcharged me a dollar on the tank I bought. But whatever, it's for a good cause. I was hoping to find some tops that I could wear to work here, but there wasn't much that was work appropriate in my size. :/ read more

Very well organized, clean, and good service. I went here hunting for bargains to help decorate and find things to go along with my friend's "photography" themed wedding. I found a few things with a great bargain and was well on my way. I even browsed the purses (yes, my guilty pleasure), and found a cute turquoise one that caught my eye. Too bad its zipper was broken! But, totally expected at a second hand store. Would definitely go back to find deals on small knick knack things. The location is a little smaller than the Goodwill's I'm used to. It works here. The space is clean, bright and organized. There is a good selection without having an overwhelming amount of stuff to go through. I spent most of this visit checking out the jewelry. Lots of fun stuff at good prices. I picked up a few chunky beaded necklaces for less than $5. If you need Halloween costumes definitely come here. Kids sizes through adult. Lots of fun accessories too. read more

I really like this Goodwill because it's so organized and clean compared to other ones I've been to! I have been looking for warm granny sweaters for the winter and was able to buy a handful and they also have many name brands and fashionable clothing and accessories!! YAY for the store being so organized. Their clothing may be a little pricey BUUUT they do have really good deals often! I only come here during their special deals (usually during a holiday or something) because they have 50% off EVERYTHING!! Weeee! I was in the store on 11/21/20. The lighting is so poor, you can't see if an item is damaged or not. Forget shopping for clothes you might miss a stain. It's also a fall hazard for shoppers putting GOODWILL at risk for a law suit. Not to mention their employees can file a complaint with Cal/OSHA for a safety violation! It's been proven back in the Victorian times that working in candlelight causes vision problems. read more

The Goodwill location off 16th and L Streets downtown is one my favorite in the Sacramento, California area. This particular Goodwill carries additional career attire and higher end accessories. The staff is attentive efficient and helpful. Addtionally the dressing rooms are actual size dressing rooms that you would find at any department store.The downside is parking is limited. read more

Apparently this is the "high-end" Goodwill in Midtown. The prices are higher and that is probably because they are taking advantage of the youth full of hipsters that want to make their look that much more unique by shopping at a thrift store. This is an assumption on my part and quite snarky so I apologize if I sound like a total B, that's not my intent. I'm only making a point that the prices are higher for the exact same used stuff that you would find at any other thrift store anywhere else. The main reason I went there was for the books though. I must say that the prices of the books are basically the same at all the goodwill locations I've been to. The selection of books is really good. The only problem I had was there was a man in the book area who kept "cropdusting" me. (Cropdusting is when you walk by slowly and silently fart.) I found it impossible to look at the books while holding my breath for multiple minutes at a time. As oxygen tends to deplete after some time remaining conscious was a bit difficult. Sadly I had to extricate myself from the books before I ended up fainting. read more

Was down here the other day and thought I would drop in to see what they had. After all, I've never been to a goodwill store before so I'm curious. So, let me start out by saying that I am pretty big on shopping around so I know what certain stores prices should look like. While I was there I actually found a few used items that I could have actually got at the signature stores brand new for either the same price or cheaper. I saw a knock off LV for $24 and remember thinking to myself that I had seen the same bag in NYC brand new for $10. I can tell it's a knock off because I own the real bag that I bought at the LV store 7 years ago and know what to look for in a knock off. I also spotted a few pair of Hollister shorts that I have seen on sale brand new at the store for the same price. There were some used sandles that were $12.99 and I remember thinking that I can go to marshals and pick up the same ones there for the same price too! Why would I pay full price for anything used? If I were going to shop at a place like this, I would expect some sort of discount because it's used. So, you won't find me going to goodwill again. read more

I really love this store. It's well stocked, well organized. As an L/XL, it's hard to find decent clothing in other thrift stores that are not pawed over or too worn. Here, you can find well-made brands (I have 3 classic u and scoop neck black Ann Taylor dresses, size 14; 1 pair of CK cropped jeans, size 14; SEVERAL work appropriate tops---shells, long sleeves, short sleeves), a few more dresses from lower end makers, and work appropriate pants, all recognizable brands (some were brand new) and multiple shoes; and did I mention, size 14? Which is impossible to find normally? And CUTE, decent stuff, maybe slightly older-style, but not being stylish I DON'T CARE. I cannot believe I buy shoes there. But they are PERFECT. I can see from other posts that people are thinking it's pretty high-priced for the items found, and not too many "GREAT" finds (read: magical and vintage), but if you're like me, and you just need pants and blouses and shoes that are reasonably priced (read: 5 bucks to 12 bucks a pop), this place is great. No, you are not going to find Vera Wang gown for $13 or a small previously unknown piece by Monet. But you might find a print, you might find a knock-off, and you might find something you adore. That's reasonable. Not "cheap". For example, several clog-style Born in brown and black IN SIZE 8.5 (and up to size 10, I believe)!! I bought a nice pair of mid-high heels by Naturalizer to go to a wedding. I am not a fancy lady, but recognizable brands and actual leather shoes are a solid plus. Shoes range around $12, and you have to be careful because most are man-made/Target style, but you can find Steve Madden, Enzo Angiolini, it's a veritable Macy's shoe store minus the mark up (I swab them out with hand sanitizer just to be sure, but they are also clean. Heck, I go bowling. I don't care. If you are freaked out, you're probably not shopping in a thrift environment anyway.) I hate other thrift stores for a variety of reasons. I hate piles of clothes. I hate dirty clothes. I hate the SMELL of smoke or old and donated old lady stuff. I'll still go, because I have found Le Creuset at places like Thrift Town, but they are busy and often messy and the staff is harried or volunteering and get all freaked out if you ask for something to be brought down from a higher shelf (or the price checks take forever.) I could go on and on about why I don't like most stores. Convenience and selection of quality goods wins big for this one, it's right at midtown on L and 17th. My very thrifty/thrifting husband trolls the music and books section and always comes out with a gem or two, still overpriced for what he finds, but EASY TO FIND. This store is like a boutique, and that's the point, they wanted it to be a very charming experience. It smells nice, it's clean and comfortable, not frenetic. They skim over all the crap and just bring the choicest stuff here. It's marked up, but not so much that a normal person cannot afford it, and you still feel like you got a great deal without having to search too hard. I have bought art here (yeah, the kind you find at Cost Plus, but it looks great in my dining room). I have bought kid's books here (they are cheap, not totally great, but for example, I purchased all the Bunnicula stories for my 8 year old for about $4 total.) They don't have any children's clothing, that would be AMAZING if they did, but they don't (except during halloween when they carry used costumes, and I got my younger daughter a cute fuzzy and warm lady bug costume last year, and a toga style blouse/dress on an 8 year old, for a Deadusa costume last year. Cheaper than the the cat ears and tails I bought for this year.) So. You can totally find deals. I am on a mission to find a nice pair of table lamps. It's literally painful for me to walk by and see someone get into their car with a lamp I would have bought---had I just GONE IN that day. Like any other thrift store, you have to go often to reap true deals. There you go. -Update on Table Lamp issues: I found one. From Pottery Barn, $20. The base was mother of pearl mosaic and it was missing a shade, which I bought later at Home Depot (because I needed a spider fit style for this particular lamp, and holy moly those are expensive---but a nice silk drum style only about 19 bucks at HD.) Nice lamp. Looked it up, and it sold for a WHOLE lot more at PB when it was a new item. read more

This place is well maintained and it's not overstocked with junk. However, I thought this was a boutique goodwill, and I didn't see very many designer labels. Kind of confusing as to what kind of goodwill this is. I prefer going to TRUE or Freestyle a few blocks away for the prices which are comparable to this Goodwill. They do however have an extensive amount of dvds in the back of you are looking for those. Halloween stuff is currently out as well and there are lots of options. read more

WAY OVER PRICED!! I l LOVE thrifting and finding preloved goods and I LOVE shopping for a good cause but I also love a good deal and if a good bargain is what you are looking for this particular Goodwill is NOT for you! When I first walked in I was greeted with multiple friendly "hello's" and immediately hit the cases of jewelery. As I was browsing a young lady walked up to the register with her purchases and asked quite bluntly "why is everything so high? Isn't this supposed to be Goodwill" Now this threw me and made me want to leave right away as I do NOT do expensive downtown secondhand stores! One of the five associates huddled around the register explained to her that "the money made from the store went to fund yada yada" and the lady (again) repeated "Bt this is Goodwill?! Are all Goodwill's this expensive"? Now I refrained from interjecting and telling her not all were expensive but I stopped myself, I eased my way further into the store VERY skeptical and hoping just hoping that she was wrong in the prices being high NOPE!! EVERY Goodwill I have been to (And that is A LOT) in the past 2 months have priced their belts at$ 2.25 AWESOME NOPE not true for this location $5.75!! That's MORE THAN DOUBLE the other stores! Ok no belts today I browsed more of the racks hoping to score some cool things and saw a BEAUTIFUL sequence dress for $29.99!! WOW!! I have NEVER purchased any item of clothing for more than 5.99 0.o I did leave with a dress, and an over sized top. After speaking with the associate at checkout I was told this particular location was where their "designer" donations were bought and sold really I just think they over price because it is in downtown and the people their are more willing to overpay! OVERALL BEAUTIFUL store, very clean and pristine but it is new, ver organized, and most items were overpriced for what I am used to with Goodwill. One of the saddest, most overpriced excuses for a thrift store ever.i grew up thrifting and places like this just make me sad...the Goodwill "boutiques" are routinely a scam/sham. They price dowdy ass stuff with brand name recognition absurdly high, it's not a particularly high end thrifting experience like a beautifully curated vintage store would be, I feel bad for people who think they are getting a deal here just because it's a goodwill.and because it's a "nonprofit" goodwill pays its employees peanuts (literally.they can pay people with mental disabilities something like .75 cents an hour, look it up if you think I'm lyin'!). Anyhoo, there are better thrift stores in the area, there are better goodwills in the area, as far as I can tell you'd be better off shopping at any other thrift store,an antique mall, eBay, crossroads/freestyle, other basically anywhere else but here. read more

The prices were a bit steep, but I guess it's worth it for the quality of the store and the clothing. This doesn't really seem like a Goodwill it seems more like a boutique. I picked up some nice Apt. 9 clothing for $8 each, which is steep compared to the $4 I spent on Apt. 9 pants at Thrift Town. They also have unused pet supplies and beauty items. I just stopped by today hoping to find something, especially loved their vintage jewelry pieces. The guy in the front, man with long hair in one braid immediately looked at me up and down when I walked in did not greet me at all mind you I'm walking in with my infant and 2 kids. Meh? If this is supposed to be the crème de la crème of Goodwills, I'm not overly impressed. This place is 3 stars simply due to the fact that the people who work there try so darn hard! The staff is always smiling and helpful and the space is kept very clean and orderly as well. As far as the content of the store goes, I have not found much here to crow over. Overall prices are redonkulous and the merchandise is not a whole lot better than one would find elsewhere. Difference: you don't have to wade through mass quantities of way bitchin' 80's junk to get to it-or do you? Do people in Sacramento really choose to wear this stuff, or do they begrudgingly relent to, because it is thrust upon them by the few "hip" stores we have? I go in about once a week, and have so far found at least one AMAZING item every single time I go in. Banana republic slacks, normally around $90, in mint condition? $9 at this place. Old Navy shirts, barely worn, averaging about $20 when new? $5. This goodwill has all the high quality, brand new stuff you could want, in a variety of sizes, all for so cheap I can afford to be the clothes horse I want to be. I found a gorgeous 100% silk dress that makes me look fantastic for $15 here. The staff is friendly and nice, there's hardly any lines even when they're super busy, and it's clean and doesn't smell funky. Yup, favorite place ever. read more

I didn't want to write this review because a) I don't want to admit I wear secondhand clothes, and b) I don't want the word to get out about Goodwill because I want everything there for myself. I have never been a thrift store shopper in my life but... This place has great stuff on the super cheap! I come here to load up on work clothes and these guys are always fully stocked on classic looks like blouses, pencil skirts and dresses... in the $4.99 - 12.99 range. The quality of the items is very good, many with tags still on. Brands like The Limited, New York and Company, The Gap, Charlotte Russe, Forever 21, mixed in with some good quality off-brands. Girls, let your inner gatherer go wild. You don't even need to look at the price, just take all you can get and come back frequently. They've also got a good selection of shoes (thankfully organized by size!). The store is set up in cute, boutique-y style in a gem of a downtown location with polished concrete floors, brick walls and exposed beams. They've got a jewelry case up front and books and movies in the back... However, I've never had the time to check out those areas because their only downside is...They close at 6pm on weekdays! That makes it hard for a gal with a 9-5 like me to really get her shop on, but I've learned to shop in short, furious bursts in their last hour. The salesgirls have never rushed me or kicked me out. Additionally these guys seem to be very tolerant of the homeless who inevitably wander in and out... In fact, I have never seen anyone working here appear to be anything less than happy, friendly and stress-free. Good quality, good prices, good service. I walk out extremely satisfied every single time. With Goodwill. Who knew. read more

I have to agree with my fellow tellers and say it is indeed the cleanest goodwill I've been too. It definitely has a mix vibe of a vintage and local bookstore shop. As soon as you enter, you can see the racks of Halloween costumes out on display. I didn't find what I needed for my costume, but they had interesting set of costumes, wigs, and Halloween makeup. If you are looking for cheap wigs for Halloween, then this is the place for you. They don't have a huge selection of regular clothes like the other Goodwills, but it is a smaller store. read more

I have been here twice- recently for black friday where everything was 50% off! I found some great stuff and new items for cheap. I am in love. I just got back from my 4th visit. I got two jcrew button ups, a wallet, belt, and a dog toy for 21 bucks.

This is a great location for a goodwill, makes it look very hip and trendy but I guess that is the reason why they hike up the prices. I can find the exact same type of clothing at any other goodwill in sac and end up paying less. They have a nice selection of movies and music and the houseware stuff seems more selective but still a bit too pricey for a goodwill. I love thrifting at goodwill but I guess I'll just stick to some of other ones. read more

I was so impressed with this goodwill.. it's like a little boutique, although it is little and the selection is limited, but everything is set up well and your not digging through trash like at most goodwills. I was on a mission for a cute tea pot for a tea party with my niece wanted cheap and I got it. $6 for a tea pot that is cute and well made and a dollar for 4 tea cups. Best Goodwill store I have ever stumbled upon! When ever I come up from Fresno area I make sure to include shopping here in my agenda. It's very clean and organized. The dressing rooms are actual locked doors instead of curtains, and they aren't limited to 6 items. The staff is eager to give you a good shopping experience also.
