It was a first time for my daughter and I but they were very nice with giving us a brief tour about both facilities, how they worked, when they expected deliveries, and how people were able come in via appointment or walk in to get clothing (point system) and groceries. Everyone was so nice. It was a great first experience for my daughter for her volunteer service so we definitely would come back to do the grocery side.

I just needed a tool box. I pulled up and as I was about 15 ft in front of the doors, the manager person came up and locked the doors. He could clearly see I was about to enter. But he locked up and just walked away pretending he didn't notice. Normally I'd just leave, but the fact that I saw him look at me and then walk away and just mosey around while I stood outside the doors pissed me off. So I stood there waiting for him to look and see if I was still there. He did, I waved, he came over with a scowl unlocked the doors and said we close in 3 min. I looked at my phone, they closed jn 7 min. So I said oh yeah in about 7 min actually- he cut me off and said do you see any yet customers in here ? We have already started closing down and we're mopping the floor. I said oh ok that's no problem at all I will come back another day. But do you happen to know if you have tool boxes or any kind of locking boxes ? I just wanted to know if I should even bother coming back so I was hoping he'd be cool about answering a simple yes or no. The issue I have is that more than 50% of the time I have been overcharged and/or charged for items I didn't buy. A couple of times one of our party has caught it in time. When we caught it as we were loading stuff in the car this time, I immediately went back in and I was told I could get store credit (which requires a commitment to return to a store I struggle to trust), and, "there is nothing else we can do." One time, I can suck it up and deal with. A second time, okay, there is still room for grace. But to repeatedly have this experience, I need to tell people to- BEWARE! I go to thrift stores because as mom of a large family, I DO need to count my soon to be discontinued pennies!

There seems to be some construction going on with the car dealership they share a lot with so the parking situation was a bit of a hot mess, even on a Wednesday morning. But the sales and prices clearly made up for that, I was greeted by volunteers telling me the specials of the day which included a color tag and then women's tops. I found some great brands because it is so well organized and the prices were reasonable. I just loved this place and had such a great time exploring the racks. I have been shopping at this wonderful thrift shop for years. All proceeds from the thrift shop…read morebenefit the food bank that serves hundreds of people each month. The shop prices are great. Donations are able to be dropped off on Wednesdays. There are a lot of high quality name brand items. This is a great way to recycle. Reduce waste and support food security, in Golden. Today I scored two like new brooks brothers wool sweaters for $40 and a stack of paper plates for a dollar! I highly recommend shopping, supporting, donating & volunteering at the CAG. It's also a great place to pick up odds and ends for the kitchen.
