This is pretty decent thrift store. They had a nice pair of Calvin Klein thigh high boots that I snagged for only $10. The store doesn't have a lot of inventory, but I like that about it. Sometimes when thrift stores are overly packed it can be overwhelming. The employee working there was really nice too. read more

This is the most clean and organized Goodwill store I have ever been to! I appreciate that prices are clearly labeled (mostly by section vs. individually) and items are thoughtfully sorted. They may have a smaller selection than other locations but what they do have is actually in good condition and isn't too dated. Employees are kind, dressing rooms are private and clean, and this store accepts donations too! If you enjoy thrifting but aren't the most patient shopper, I think you'll be as grateful for this particular Goodwill store as I am. read more

This review is for the experience I had today with the donation service - it was a major DISSAPOINTMENT!! Very rude staff! I came in to donate a basketball and a bag of clothes. The man working there puts my basketball in a bin and asks me "What's in the bag?" I told him that it's probably all clothes. He looks at me funny and says "Why wouldn't you know what's in here?" I told him that I don't know exactly everything in the bag.. I felt a bit uncomfortable so I turned around to exit. On my way out, I can hear supervisor walking up to the donation area with a new employee to explain the whole donation process. I've now walked halfway to my car.. and just when I thought everything was okay.. The manager comes outside and yells "HEY! HEYY! YOU COME HERE!" I turn around and walk up to her. She holds the duffel bag of clothes and says "We're not taking this!" I looked in the bag and told her it's clothes. It's all pretty new and nothing is wrong with these items. She said, "No, we are not taking them. Take them back!" and throws my bag on the floor. I was pretty upset by now.. and very confused about what just happened. I'm not coming back to this location again and would like to WARN ANYONE READING THIS that they could also experience this. read more

Goodwill replaces Compass Bank. not much parking available. unknown why this commercial strip is so popular. (Shane Co. and a Staples here too). unlike other Goodwills, everyone is cheerful here. was told "50% off on single color stickers". book section was anemic of worthy titles. clothes didn't look my size. iphone accessories not in need now clothes are the main attraction here. come here if family needs clothes. store too small to hosts furniture.... doubtful return. parking is short here. read more

Being a big booty girl with a high small waist means jean shopping takes some day drinking to happen. It's exhausting, expensive, and every other pair ends up not working out. So for most of the last five years I've tended to buy my jeans at Goodwill. For a few reasons: First, there's a ton of different brands all in one place. I don't have to schelp across a Macy's floor to try and grab the two sizes I could fall into depending on cut to try and test out every brand just to see which fits my current shape. Additionally, they're all worn in. Which means they've been comfortably stretched out and most importantly, because it's Goodwill, they're inexpensive. Which is bank because nine out of ten times all jeans rip under my ass within six months to a year. My ass don't quit folks, and jeans have a hard time going the distance. And Goodwill, specifically this Goodwill, keeps me in solid work appropriate baby blues. This location is clean, spacious, and their dressing rooms are large, walk in, and easy to use. Service is friendly, and parking is plentiful. And now, after today's visit, I have three more pairs to destroy. Bring it jeans, bring it. read more

This place could use better management and better pricing. They could use the racks in the back to display more items. What a waste is space! On the positive side, they have some helpful employees here. The lady (I believe her name was Arniti) was very helpful and treated me and my puppy very well. I will never ever donate here again. First, they require YOU to sort everything for them. Second, the employees are super irritated when you come in to donate. Third, they're always acting out, yelling obscenities huffing and puffing. This place is ridiculous. You come in to donate and you're treated like crap. I was actually afraid to come back. The person taking things was yelling violently. I had several boxes and after I brought in the first, decided to never come in again after seeing a mother and child screamed at by the crazy that was taking the stuff. Everyone that was trying to donate got yelled at in some form. There are many other BETTER places: American cancer society, Salvation Army or literally any other Goodwill. I regret bringing anything here. Stay away unless you enjoy being treated like garbage. read more

The last several times I've shopped here, the shelves and racks are half empty. They get donations throughout the day - there are always people bringing donations in, so it's strange the store is so bare. My guess is the donations go to a central location and don't even make it into this particular store. Same with the other East Bay Goodwill locations - they all look half full now. Sadly the condition of this store condition has gone downhill since opening staff has changed. The girl at checkout couldn't understand me or English well enough to answer my question correctly. The shelves and bins aren't turning over quick enough that a bunch of useless stuff is building up. I wanted an HDMI cable and found two bins of a huge amount of mostly phone cords and cables and a jumbled mess of what not. There used to be always at least one person on the floor besides cashier. The close rack I was looking on had about 50% wrong items on it. Door to magt office now has glass covered. Translates into don't bother manager. Sad. Think I won't bother with this place and go back to concord. The staff there is very friendly, helpful and available. read more

This is the worst goodwill I've ever been to. The prices are outrageous ($7 for a ratty old t shirt?!) And the customer service was terrible. The man behind the counter was unbearable ( to any management reading this- the rude individual was a tall black man about 40 years old - this encounter occurred around 4pm on 1/13/20). He wouldn't Reply to my greeting of "how are you?" And scoffed when I asked him to leave my Nickle for the next person (there was a pile of pennies on top of his register). He turned to throw my nickel in the trash so I said "or I'll just keep it." He rolled his eyes and placed it in my hand. There are much better thrift stores in the area, with very friendly staff and much more reasonable prices for used/donated/worn out clothing. read more

Easy donation drop off with a parking lot and collections staff during all open hours. Friendly staff make it all the better :). Wanted to clarify the donations process for anyone looking to bring something here--do it! Donations are accepted any time the store is open. The donations counter is conveniently located immediately on your left upon walking in. Awesome news for my back! The parking lot is small, but the benefit of this is that any space is not too far from the door--key for the multiple trips between the trunk and the store. The staff in person were incredibly friendly and efficient--we were welcomed into the store with a huge smile as soon as we walked in, and two different employees offered us a donation receipt as we ferried boxes from the car to the store. I had a bit of a time getting someone on the phone (three rings takes you to a full voice inbox), but once I did, she was warm and helpful. read more

This place is very clean and well organized. When I went I saw primarily just modern clothes. I go to Goodwill for the vintage, so I did not make any purchases. Still, Good location. An added bonus is you can being able to stand at the edge of the parking lot to stare at the cars going by on the freeway. read more

I've been coming to this store for more than half a year. I'm a huge thrift shopper and I love coming here because of the variety of items they have. However, what I don't love about this place would have to be the workers. The place recently got a different security guard for their store and always has a negative attitude towards the customers. I didn't place a cart correctly where the cart rack is and I instantly got yelled at. That's not necessary. I understand I didn't place it correctly for which i'm sorry but there was no need to yell. Secondly, I got a lot of clothing with red tags because at the entrance was a sign that said, "50% OFF Red Tags". So when I was about to pay, I asked the cashier if the red tags had a discount since the price came up to be pretty high for 5-6 shirts and 1 green pant. He instantly replied in such a cocky manner, "Pft no." So I asked, "What about the sign right in front of the entrance ?" To this he laughed and said, "There is no discount. Do you want this or not?" Is that really the way to reply to a simple question? There was no need for attitude nor mocking. I left the things there, not because of the price, but because of the treatment. I love the variety of items this store can offer but if the employees get worse. I might just have to stop shopping here. I hope that doesn't happen. read more

Unfortunately, for a new location / grand opening, this Goodwill did not impress. Incredibly bad customer service. I went to drop off two pieces of furniture and was treated disrespectfully by Sharon who seems to be the supervisor for incoming donated goods. It was one of the most unprofessional behaviors I have experienced, especially representing a company that stands by good will. Absolutely shocking. I will never return here. The furniture was slightly used but in excellent condition. I took it elsewhere and they eagerly accepted the furniture. It was her uppity attitude that was arrogant and did not fit that position. read more

Having Goodwill less than 5 mins away from home is dangerous! I wish I could come here everyday to snag some goodies. I've been here a handful of times; each time leaving with great pieces. What I love most is their staff and customer service. The people working here are very friendly, welcoming, and helpful. A lot of times in retail, you'll encounter staff looking like they hate their job. That's not the case here. The only thing I can say I dislike is that everything in a certain category will be priced the same, so it kinda bums me seeing F21 or H&M stuff on the racks selling for almost their retail price. Can't really complain though. They are expanding their furniture section now for anyone wondering. I hope they keep up the good work and great service! If I could give zero stars, I would. People giving donations, don't have to. They do it out of kindness. What sense does it make it turn down a donation when your store is still clearly open, and the explanation is that donation receiving stopped at a specific time?..........and guess what folks........THE IS NO SIGN ON THE DOOR THAT GIVES YOU THAT TIME, OR ANY OTHER TIME (OPEN/CLOSE). Since when did the Goodwill become a place where is was inconvenient to give, and difficult because the people there are rude?! The gentleman at the door closed the door on me, which is terrible to do to someone, let alone a PREGNANT WOMAN!!!! This facility and its management should be utterly disgusted with themselves. This place is right off the freeway. I was here to see if there was a desk. Really easy to get to and they had plenty of parking. This place is the cleanest and most organized store I have ever been to. I won't buy everything used just some things. Almost everything in this store was new. Everything was organized in section by color and size. It was clean inside and the people who work there are very helpful. Definitely recommend checking this place out. read more

One of the less nice Goodwills I've been too and I've been to tons of Goodwills. The issue is this Goodwill isn't organized by size which means it takes forever to sort through. The positive is all clothing items have flat prices which is nice. However, I found that most of the clothes were worn out. I only ended up with one item and was disappointed in the selection. The store is nice and open and clean, but overall didn't have many treasures to find. read more

Went to donate several times over the last couple months. The attendant was very rude asking what I was donating ( seemed very upset that Im donating). I was told to wait and had to separate my stuff myself into the appropriate bins. Goodwill don't you make money through the public's donations? Why would people be met with such an attitude. I frequent this Goodwill and I often find things. The purpose of this review is to get the attention of whomever pays the lease for this space and who is in charge of who runs this store. The employees of this store including the management is horrific. I literally just watched the black gentleman accepting donations today AND the supervisor on shift right now turn an elderly gentlemen away because they were closing for "15 minutes" because they were overwhelmed with donations. This poor man was telling them he drove all the way from SF to donate specifically to this store. Perhaps every employee at this store should be REMINDED that donations fund their paychecks and secure their jobs. If I had to choose, Pleasant Hill Goodwill over Walnut Creek Goodwill hands down has a better selection and incredible staff. I've been bothered by Walnut Creek Goodwill for a while because they are horrible at putting out defective clothing and I don't know if it's because they don't see it's defective or if they want to make money because a lot of it is name brand. I often hear the staff talking about trying to "beat" Pleasant Hill for sales and they pride themselves in being a "luxury" goodwill. There is so much potential at this store but with the current leadership it's so unfortunate. I know someone pays a pretty penny for this space too! So sad read more

This store is awful. Been to the store twice and both times the store was messy with clothes all over the floor and in dressing room. I used the restroom on my 2nd visit and it was totally gross, smelled and no soap or toilet paper. Donation area cluddered with stuff on the floor. Employees are not courteous and helpful. The last time I was there and was at the check-out, the young lady was rude and reeked of alcohol all other employees where standing around laughing and talking among themselves For that location, there should be better service and more decent employees. Ok prices, but will take my business elsewhere for better service. read more

So I understand during this pandemic, we need to be extra nice to everyone because we are all trying our best. Taking that into consideration, I just stopped by goodwill today and had 2 bags of donations to be dropped off. There was a sign outside that if the donation box is full they can no longer take any more donations and there is no deisgnated time for that. I still went inside and there was this guy who wasn't being very clear if it was closed or not. I was following him and then he said we are full. But he was like getting something and so I thought is he taking my donation. Then he took out a bag and said this is your bag that you just dropped off. I said 'NO', I just got here. Why would you assume that it's mine. Then he said because you just walked past the sign that say we are closed. Then I said I see the sign but it doesn't say closed. Then he said we are closed at 2pm. I told him I didn't know that because goodwill hours is till 6pm. And it was my first time dropping off there after this covid had happened. He wasn't yelling but he could have just said plain and simple that we are not accepting donations for the day. That would have ended it nicely instead of accusing me of leaving a donation outside and lecturing me about the hours. Definitley not going back in here. They need to drop the attitude and be grateful for people helping out other people with their donations. read more

Great experience with my daughter!!! First, the donation area was conveniently located up front. Staff were helpful and did not refuse my old furniture!! It was not the best condition but I am thankful that they will make the effort to re-sell and use it for their sustainability effort!!! The store is well-maintained, clean, friendly staff, and priced fairly. We were greeted by staff as we were walking through isles and asked if we needed assistance. My daughter found her favorite Lulu lemon pants for only $6.99!!!! Brand new! I found mirror, shoe rack, laundry drying rack and clean tops for reasonable prices. We just loaded up my car and we were so happy with our treasure shopping! Also, we are very happy that our donation and money spent will be used to help people who are trying to get back in society. We will come back for more treasures and positive experiences!! read more

Another awesome Goodwill in the East bay! Ive been here quite a few times and never had any issues shopping or donating here. Employees are always friendly and go out of their way to help you. They are well organized especially with the amount of donations they receive daily! Stuff gets brought in here by the cart full!! They always have new clothing carts and goods daily! Today, still unimpressed. I'm giving it 3 stars because staff was very friendly. The space is really crowded and the signs didn't seem to match what was on the racks in certain areas.
