I've been selling my designer clothing for years at Labels, and almost buy as much as I sell from them. The inventory is just so good! They have tons of stuff and always have a sale rack. I usually buy shoes, handbags and sunglasses. However, they have lots of clothing, jackets, and jewelry as well. I've read some of the reviews and they say a lot of times people don't greet them while they're shopping. That has happened to me only once. They usually have a lot of great friendly employees ready to assist you. If you are selling clothes, you need to call them and make an appointment which I recommend. Another tip is if you're selling clothes and have a haul to bring in they have a parking lot in the back with easy access to the store. They also have plenty of street parking in front of the store and nearby. I recently went in to pick up a bag that I had them pulled because it didn't sell at a higher price so I decided to keep the handbag and to pick up my check. I hate to admit, however, they sometimes can be a little forgetful when it comes to mailing you your check. I recommend calling in to see how your clothes are doing, and if they've been sold I ask them to mail me my check. And unfortunately they have forgotten two times to mail me my check so now I just pick up my check and I also use it as an opportunity to shop and have lunch in the area. I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Labels Luxury Consignment. If I could give this business zero stars, I would. The level of arrogance displayed by the staff evaluating my apparel was completely unwarranted. The service felt disingenuous, and the employees conducting the evaluations lacked a professional demeanor. Most notably, they dismissed several pairs of shoes I brought in--which were still in their original boxes--without ever actually looking inside to inspect them. It is frustrating to be turned away when a proper evaluation wasn't even performed. Additionally, I found the store environment to be lacking; some items on the shelves were visibly worn yet significantly overpriced. Given the poor customer service and the lack of value for both consignors and shoppers, I would not recommend this store to anyone. read more

What an amazing gem in the middle of downtown?! Loved the variety of option here. They have two sides in the store, designer ($$) and super duper designer (SSSS) sections! The selection of clothes, handbags and accessories were good. The shoes section was a bit of disappointment. I purchased a brand new with tags cashmere dress; marked at $895 for $99!! What a great find in a beautiful soft green color. My friend purchased a CHANEL GST tote for $3500, almost brand new!! How w can you go wrong? Love to stop by here any time in town!! I think if second hand luxury items are your jam this place will rock your socks off!!! But as someone just looking for quality work clothes this place was a bit out of my budget. Brands range from lower-end (e.g., Kate Spade, Coach, department store brands) to higher-end (e.g., LVMH). I found a Karl Lagerfeld blazer for over $20 with food stains and tears on it :( The shoe display is pretty neat, as shelves are organized by size. I didn't have to go through the five stages of grief each time I picked up a cute pair only to discover it was too large or too small for me. There's also a cute display of the more higher end designer shoes on a separate round table. The service is lovely. Employees can hold items for you while you shop. I ended up getting some vintage black almond shoes! My mom didn't get anything tho. Overall, items are generally hit or miss. Prices lean more expensive for more designer brands which is pretty typical so know what you're looking for. I managed to find a gem but the quality of items really depends on the season and what items they receive. read more

It's a Saturday and I walk in and just browsing around. Three ladies behind the register just talking loudly amongst themselves regarding weather, food, friends and where they are going later. I walk & looked around more . Still no hello how can I help you , do you need anything or help? Nothing at all. I looked in the showcase where jewelry is displayed at the register, they were all standing there, and they didn't say anything. I'm like this is so strange and rude. What type of culture is this? I walk into the next area the other room with more higher end items. I'm like oh my it must be the culture to NOT speak. It's terrible! Honestly, I was up at the register looking at the higher end jewelry and long and behold someone spoke to me and her name was Gabby. I expressed to her that she was the only person that said hello to me after being in the store looking around for 40 minutes. She apologized and asked me my name and apologized again for the awful experience. Thank you Gabby for speaking to me and acknowledging that I was a customer. I had a wonderful experience shopping at Labels in Berkeley. I was warmly greeted by the store owner as soon as I walked through the door, which immediately set the tone for a great visit. The store is filled with so many lovely items--from jewelry and stylish handbags to beautiful clothing. This time, I had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Lynn, and I truly enjoyed our conversation. Not only did I leave the store with an amazing find, but I also left with new knowledge. She was incredibly friendly, helpful, and took the time to educate me about a designer I wasn't very familiar with. i love this place so very much. i visited a couple months ago and the girls who work there were too sweet to me and i had a lovely chat with them. i believe i also spoke to the owner who was equally as lovely and taught me to walk in heels. i ended up picking up some beautiful christian dior heels for an amazing price! i highly recommend this place, they have a great selection of vintage luxury brands for a very reasonable price and the fantastic staff is a huge plus. i would visit all the time if i lived closer. read more

I had high hopes for this store and I literally drove over an hour to shop in Walnut Creek and I was ready to buy some nice luxury items. In the end, I walked out empty handed because I had such a horrid experience with an employee. I was followed around by this woman with this crazy look and disturbing attitude. She also got foundation on some of my clothes and when I tried to ask for help and she was so rude. Not sure why this place has such low reviews. I have only shopped here twice but both times, its a solid 5*. Why only twice? Because of the Walnut Creek parking situation. If not for this reason, I would spend most of my weekenda here. The staff was extremely friendly, sweet, attentive and helpful. They knew their stuff very well; didn't try to upsell the items but rather, knew how to provide such service that we felt like buying. Both times, I enjoyed the service and appreciate the staff making me feel like i was shopping with my girl-friends. That's what luxury service should feel like. The store was clean and bright. The inventory was nice and well organized. Not sure what some buyers expected but this is a preowned store, so, of course, items will smell like .... preowned. The employees working during the time of my experience were your typical rude walnut creek b******. I went here to try to get a Prada purse that I was trying to sell authenticated and I was told that they can't authenticate the person unless I was going to consign with them. I thought that would be a option, but the 50% was just a bit much for me when they were going to list it for $1500. I listed it for more than that and would've received more by selling it on my own so it just wasn't for me. If you are OK with the 50% that's good and this place is great. I do not have a bad review. It just wasn't for me for the amount they would take. I just wish they did a authentication service that we can pay for. read more

Today was my first time going into the store. There's a pair of sandals on sale on the 50% rack, the label says $99 after 6/2023, which means the sandals have been at the store unsold for nearly 2 years. I bought it to the front desk and asked about the sandals, the lady took a look at them and rudely said "oh they are not supposed to be 50% off" and took it to the back. Mind you, I took a picture of the label and description brand size and $ clearly matches the actual sandals. What kind of bait and switch tactic is this? Oh top of that the sales lady was so rude to me that I was completely turned off by the whole thing. Btw, the whole store is filled with old and dirty designer clothing that aren't trendy at all. I felt compelled to leave a review of my positive experience with Labels. I've shopped here for years and I now consign with them. I have nothing but positive experiences, which is why I decided to consign with them. First off, the shopping experience is great, you can find all types of hidden gems here, just have to be patient and willing to take your time to look through the store. Pricing is fair. As for consignment, everything is clearly laid out in the contract and the pricing is throughly explained. I wasn't happy with the pricing of one of my items and I was able to pull it with no problems. I would recommend this store to anyone, you don't have to worry about the authenticity and the pricing is reasonable. I'll continue to be a customer and consigner. read more

I have found many cute things here reasonably priced. The staff has a very high rate of turnover. Unfortunately the ones that remain have become increasingly impatient and scatter brained. Helen has become forgetful, says she will "ask the owner and follow up" or "look for something" or "call later" and never does. This makes everyone look bad. On several occasions while shopping here, I have seen her get into very uncomfortable confrontations with other customers. There is another older woman with outdated hair who always wears the same musty pant suit with tennis shoes who knows nothing of fashion, snubbing everyone as if she is an authority. Kind of creepy and off-putting. My husband appreciates the small but mighty men's section of very high end clothing and sneakers. read more

Labels sold my YSL kitten heel pumps on Wednesday 6/26 and stated that they could not honor the contract to pay me on Friday this week 6/28 because they have no money! I had to escalate above the main salesperson to a "manager" & was told that my account in now closed (phew...). If the check is not available tomorrow I will report them to the Better Business Bureau for reneging on their contract. My YSL pumps were the only quality merchandise in this store; it smells like a damp basement and the main salesperson is haughty and rude. I recommend going to LA for quality consignment; this place is sketchy. read more

Love this store! It's got great deals on designer items and I really enjoy finding good deals. Sometimes you can wait for an item to go on sale if you look at the tag close enough you can see there's a date that you can wait for it to go on its ultimate sale. This is a mixed bag review for the Walnut Creek location. I initially had a good experience with consigning some items, which did sell. Communication was not the best, so there had to be multiple calls. "Check will be ready for pickup on such-and-such a day", finding out on arrival which involved a 1-1/2 hr drive to Walnut Creek, to be told the check would be available AFTER a certain time. But, killing time in Walnut Creek is a fun thing, except for having to keep an eye on the nuisance parking meters. So, ok, lack of communication forgiven. Some months later I took in two designer bags which had belonged to my deceased mother-in-law. After a cursory glance, a saleswoman (whose name I wasn't given) declared the bags to be counterfeit. I knew damn well they were not. As she was shushing me away from the counter, another woman (whose name I wasn't given either) passed by and announced the bags were indeed designer and very vintage. SI you're given a little paper receipt, and you entrust your items to them. Then you have to check into your online account (which was a headache to set up) to see what price they gave them. These vintage purses were given a great price! Some months went by, no sale. Then circumstances involving a family health scare changed my focus and prompted me to take the items back. Labels allowed me to take them. When our issues here at home settled down (sorta), I was told I could bring them back for reconsignment. So, again the 1-1/2 hr drive. Hellish drivers on the freeway! This time a very dour, humorless woman, again whose name I wasn't told (and I didn't have the presence of mind to ask), determined one of the bags and a wallet we're not acceptable. Really? What had happened to the bags in a few weeks? Who knows. I was wary of consignment stores. I had been told several stories of how items were lost and no accountability or recompense was given. But I felt Labels was different. After all, I had such a good experience. #1, thanks to that younger woman who overruled the "counterfeit" assessment. #2, why was I told the very same items weren't fit for consigning? What goes on there? Is there some ego or power play going on behind the counter between employees? Too many chefs in the kitchen? Who is in charge? read more

I love browsing through their great stuffs in this store and have purchased items from them. I recently consigned a pair of beautiful western boots I've had for years that I've only worn a handful of times. Although it didn't sell for as much as my original purchase price, I was happy it sold and found a new home and someone else can enjoy them. It sold within a month! It was great consigning it there because it got wonderful exposure. The store was always prompt when I would call to check on the status and when it did finally sell, I called to ask them to mail the check to me which they did, and I received right away. I have been shopping at Labels in Walnut Creek for years and just learned of Berkeley location. Looking forward to checking that out. I was shocked to see any negative reviews here when Yelp sent me a message to review, sneaky Yelp, following me.... My last 2 visits were so pleasant. I eyed a gorgeous Gucci bag, PINK(!!!) and saw it would be going another $200 in three days. I decided to take my chances and wait for the price drop bought a great top and left. The next day I started getting nervous, this bag is hard to find and it's amazing, called the store, Lynn answered and said it was still there but being what it is, may be gone soon. I drove out, looked at bag with Lynn. Soooo glad she was there. She is a complete expert on luxury goods. Never anything but authenticated, most everything is good shape, bags, luggage, clothes, shoes, etc... She was so busy, but decided to try and clean up the Gucci a little more, small spots on leather. All but one small one came out, showed me the lipstick stains inside and then offered me more $$ off. Uh, yes please, thank you! Again, this place has always been great. I miss the chocolate covered almonds, before covid. Best selection and most salespeople are friendly and great. read more

What a nightmare of a business. When they set a price without you being there they never call to verify if you approve it. Sales girls are polite but have no clue what they are doing. It took 2-3 weeks to find and return one of my merchandise. The owner is so greedy she takes tons of stuff without adequate space to display it. My nice jewelry could not possibly be seen obstructed by the incredible amount of other pieces in front. When I asked the owner to put it in front she yelled at me and very angrily returned my jewelry ($300 worth) without me asking or verifying who I was. It's so refreshing to watch her in action as she is a kind, strong, and caring force who focuses on sustainability, is super organized, and is full of integrity. These days, it is more important than ever to build and maintain community and human connections but she's been known for doing that for decades and this is reflected in everything she does. As for security, in addition to cameras and security guards, she is very vigilantly present and constantly communicating with city officials and local government entities. It's with a very heavy conscience that I have to post this review. Before reviewing, I read almost all of the reviews of this business. There was one in particular that stood out to me in which someone made excuses for the owner...that she was rude and irritable, but that it was excusable behavior for someone who is inundated with all the trials and tribulations of running a business. I beg to differ! There is absolutely never an excuse to treat your patrons like crap because they are the lifeblood of your business. Of course people are not perfect, and I am certainly no exception...but there is absolutely no excuse for the way my friend and I were treated last week. I have known the owner and have frequented this business for over 10 years. I used to own a business helping people with closet consultations and I used to take a lot of items to Labels to consign. I definitely don't expect to be recognized or given any special treatment. It had been a few years since I've personally interacted with the owner Lynn, but I was extremely shocked and appalled at how we were treated. So we (my friend and I) arrived for our appointment about 5 minutes late due to traffic and construction. I said hello and told her we had an appointment and I was going to set up everything in the back of the store where the consignments are typically processed. Lynn said she needed me to bring the stuff to the counter because it was busy and she was "short staffed," which isn't normally how I've consigned in the past. I said ok no problem but it's a lot of stuff. I didn't want to overwhelm her counter or interfere with customers. Lynn said, rather annoyed and irritated, " I don't know what to tell you. Do you want a rack?" She was referring to a rolling rack for clothes. I replied no because it's mostly shoes and handbags, and it would take us a few minutes to unload the stuff from the car. She said "free appointment, free parking, what more do you want?" Perhaps this statement may not have been intended to be rude, but there was a definite edge and tone to her voice. I was really disgusted by her behavior but tried to just let it go and continue on. Part of me wanted to say...who on earth has ever heard of charging for a consignment appointment??? I wanted to say, your livelihood is dependent on your consignors for their goods, so why the attitude???? I was very dumbfounded. Then after bringing everything in there was an awkward period when we were standing there waiting. Lynn told us to shop or get a coffee while she looked at everything. I was momentarily confused because she hadnt asked for any information, and I wanted to make sure she had my client's/friends name and information, as these were expensive items--unworn Loubiton, Chloe, Prada etc!!! Lynn started to record the information, but looked at me and said "why all the negative energy?" I pretty much lost my cool. I said, "I was just about to ask you why you've had such an attitude since I walked in?" I proceeded to tell her that I was dumbfounded by her attitude and she demanded to understand why I was upset and what she "did" or "said" to make me act this way. I retold her what she said from the beginning about being short staffed and she said " I never said that!" Oh my gawd... this woman is bipolar! Liar! Why on earth would I lie about that?! It's exactly what she said. Ridiculous. Im not proud of what I did next because I'm a firm believer that you never know what someone else is experiencing. I'm an extremely empathetic and emotional person and I would never pretend to know what is going on in someone else's life, or claim that my issues are greater... but I had a very emotional day. My poor little baby boy was super sick and I had spent all morning at the dr, and the night before my grandma had passed. I mentioned this, partly because I wanted her to know that my tolerance for her bullshit was just not at its normal level...I simply did not have my ordinary level of patience...but Lynn responded that I "had no idea what happened to HER last night" and that she "has a fever." WOW.... I just don't know what to say. She told us to "pack our items and get out" of her store. Gladly. I'm SO relieved I never half to go back there again. Bridge burned. Your loss Lynn!!!! Everyone I know will hear about this. And your ridiculous fake treatment of your other clients in our presence was disgusting. Everyone sees your true colors. read more

You can't get a straight answer on getting reimbursed for your consignment items. They will sell your item after they are no longer on contract so they say and not give you the option to pick them up. So suddenly your unsold item gets sold exclusively for them and they keep the total profit!!! they make the total profit from your items!! Some of their clothes are really dated and are very very over priced compared to eBay for designer clothes and other consignment stores. Not my go too option anymore for consignment or purchases. I LOVE both Labels shops! They are run by a local woman, Lynn, who amazes me with her knowledge, friendliness, professionalism and style. She seems to know and remember everyone and is so warm. It feels good to support a small local woman run business based on reuse while also getting perfect items to dress up for events or wear for my job! Recently, I attended a black tie wedding and I needed something appropriate and comfortable. Even though she is the store owner, Lynn made time to help me find different dresses and she came up with the perfect piece that helped me feel beautiful and relaxed during the ceremony, at the dinner, and on the dance floor! Nearly all of my work clothes come from the 2 Labels shops. Its brilliant getting good deals on designer items! I am grateful to be able to buy beautiful and professional clothes that I might not otherwise buy, and knowing that I'm also being thoughtful of our environment. I recently purchased a wallet online. I emailed to follow up as per their FAQ, they ship within 3 days of purchase. Well over a week later they decided to cancel my purchase. They never responded to my email on the follow up of my order. They lack communication and for some reason post stock online and probably favor a face to face sale instead of an online purchase. Seems that they were probably to lazy to even ship it, or hadn't cleared the stock online. I guess inventory maintenance is way to hard to keep track of for the employees at this consignment. Which I find rather odd being that ALL ITEMS are consigned and only one of each. At any rate I won't be going to spend my money at this establishment anymore, despite me and my family being patrons to both locations for years. For the owner: I think you should really review and retrain the employees at your place of business, because it seems a lot of regular patrons have been recently having poor experiences. read more

I'm a big fan of consignment shops having frequented many in the Bay Area and beyond. Without a doubt, this is my favorite consignment shop of all time. Huge amount of inventory, some items needing a bit of TLC which I feel just adds to their selection. Recently had an issue with a purchase not making it into my bag, upon realizing and calling, the item was placed on hold for me and when I was back in the area, pickup was a breeze, they even stayed open late to accommodate. Man! This store has really gone down hill since the last time I was in. Many items in desperate need of mending you know frayed seems, gaping holes etc. and lots of serious out dated clothing and I don't mean like last season. Some of the special nite out items had be placed to beaded items and extremely snagged well beyond repair, sad really. A designer pair of shoes that have been there for at least 2 years were actually 2 different sizes, when brought to attention of the store clerks, they seemed SHOCKED....,then promptly reattached the 3 figure price tag back over the shoe sizes on the sole. I LOVE this store! I went to find a glamorous gown for a special event, and I hit the jackpot, not only with the gown selection, but also with Debbie and Sunshine! They were superb in helping me. I plan to make many trips back in the future. The prices are very reasonable, the quality of merchandise is excellent, and their designer section is top notch. This consignment store is top notch! Quality goods and friendly service. The high end luxury brands are against the walls and the rest of the other luxury goods are on the floor. Nice and full racks. There is a mens and women's section and a nice selection of shoes. This is a luxury consignment store and the prices seemed reasonable. I like how the prices go down over time as the items ages each month. I'm sure it helps to move inventory. I got a pair of flats for $50 compared to the original price of $88. Seeing as most of the old consignment stores have closed, it is nice to see this place is still around. read more
