Called to make an appointment for any day at 6pm. They said they could change oil today. Well that was a lie. Got there 15 minutes early, was completely ignored and then was told they don't have time to do it. A lot of time wasted because despite how willing I was to make an appointment with them on literally any day, they organized for a time they couldn't handle and ignored me. It would be easier just to tell me they don't want my money. I get the message, now. Won't be returning. Let me just say that my mother is SUPER HARD TO PLEASE and she loves this place. She told me to go there when I got a flat tire. I didn't. I went to Sears, right across the street. Oops. The tire they patched was flat again the next morning. By this time, I was all JUST BUY A TIRE! BUY 2! BUY ALL THE TIRES I CAN'T HANDLE ANY MORE SURPRISE FLATS. This time, my mom drove my car to Goodyear, they were fast and they fixed what Sears did AND fixed the OTHER leak that Sears didn't catch. They didn't try to sell me a new tire. They said the tread was good and the tire could be saved. And you wouldn't believe the price. I didn't when my mom told me. Let me just say, they made me a believer. Trust is huge when you try out a new mechanic. These guys failed. - High cost to replace tire. Easily $40 more than average. - Added on an "extended warranty" without telling me; cost like 20% extra. - Tried to get this refunded the next day; was told "I don't know how to do a refund, come back when the manager is here." - Returned when manager is on-site. Since I posted this review, I've been contacted by Jose Montes at Goodyear and have been told that they will refund some of the charges and I'll be given some store credit. He apologized for the mistake, and told me to bring in my car again so they could look into it. On Sunday morning, I discovered that the splash-guard under my bumper had fallen again and was scraping against the road. While most places are closed on Sundays, Goodyear was open and willing to help me out. My first Goodyear experience in Austin, Texas, the service is horrible. Can't speak for all employees some were very professional and courteous but outside of that it took them nearly 4 hours to install a set of four tires and do a balance and alignment. The following week had a nail or screw that was in a tire, which they apparently fixed and now the tire is leaking even faster than when the screw was in it. I myself can fix and repair a nail or screw job faster and with better quality service. I have replaced two screws in previous tires in the past and never had to come back to that tire again and I'm not Goodyear these technicians really need a huge reevaluation of their comprehension. tried calling them at 6:40 PM when their hours say they're open till seven and it goes straight to voicemail with no one responding, either answer your phones, or change your phone hours on iPhone maps!!! We've been to the Westlake location many times with all our family cars. They do a great job and their customer service is of the highest level. I was in the waiting room while my car was being worked on. I was really surprised at how many people come in and are unkind or demanding of immediate service. They had a full load of cars to work on. One man in particular came in almost immediately asking "for the G.M's number!" They bent over backwards to help him and he was still very combative. Ben at the counter was kind, courteous and handled everything the entire time I was there with absolute grace. (Barely eating his now cold lunch 3 hours later because of all the non-stop people coming in wanting to have their issue handled quickly and immediately.) Paul the manager handled the rude guy professionally and politely. I was so impressed. They deserve to be treated better than what I saw today. read more

I came into this location today because I thought I needed a an alignment. It turns out, the issue I am experiencing was far greater than alignment. We got in our car one Saturday morning, in a hurry to leave for a wedding in Houston, and discovered we had low tire pressure in one tire. After inspection, we discovered a nail in our tire. We were visiting family in Austin and had no idea who to call. The first place we called said they didn't have time to even check the tire. When we called the Goodyear store a pleasant worker said come on in and we will work you in quickly. Upon arrival we were quickly assisted, the needed repair was made , and we were out within 30-45 minutes! Their quick assistance in this situation, enabled us to make the wedding. Lydia cashed my ticket out and is very friendly and professional. Two weeks ago I bought 4 tires and alignment for my wife's Malibu. Laura helped me. About 6 months ago I bought 4 tires for my daughters Travers and had an alignment. I also bought two tires for my truck about this time. Laura, Juan and Lydia are all very knowledge and professional. What I like about Goodyear is you can ask questions and get an honest answer. In closing I posted a Negative Review about Capitol Chevrolet and it was removed. Hands down, the single best experience we've ever had with a auto mechanic in Austin! Jose Montes went above and beyond to help us service my 2006 DTS. He even came out to our house after his shift was over on a Saturday night to service the car. That same night, after he finally got back to his own house, he took the time to look up whether my car had any pending recalls. Turns out that it did, and the recalls were pertaining to the exact issue my car had. In short, we've never come across another auto mechanic who was as technically proficient, professional, and caring as Jose. I came in here with a busted up cheap old car that I cannot afford to replace and they did literally EVERYTHING they could to get my bill down from well over $1000 to around $550. I told them I had zero money and that this was a very unexpected situation for me so they gave me coupons, discounts, and in the end even offered me a part time job. If I could give this place no stars I would. I came here because I have Goodyear tires and for the most part have been happy with the company. I got a nail in one of my tires which would require a plug and patch, simple, and a service that Goodyear offers for free. I went online, selected my service and selected an appointment time. I drove 20 minutes from my house across town on my very old donut spare for them to tell me that my 1:30 appointment meant absolutely nothing and I would have to wait until about 4 or 5! The guy behind the counter wasn't even apologetic, he said that the appointment made online didn't sync up with their system?? Spare yourself the trouble and go to Discount Tire on Research, they are polite, professional, and keep their scheduled appointments! read more

I came in with my Chevy Malibu needing two rear tires and several maintenance issues that needed attention, including new brake pads. I was low on funds and needing to renew my inspection sticker. So, the manager was able to have his guys check my car out and address what was most pressing. He then gave me a timeline of when the other items would need fixing so I could budget to get them fixed. He also looked at some recent work I had gotten done at NTB and pointed out where I had been overcharged and what had not been taken care of. I was so relieved that they were fair in their pricing and that they helped me get my car maintenance taken car of on a timeline I could afford. They are honest here, they aren't the cheapest place but you will get quality work for a fair price. I won't take my car anywhere else and refer everyone I know here. read more

Never again!! My car broke down, had it towed it to Goodyear since it was the closest auto shop around. After agreeing to all fees and hoping to have my car fixed the same day on Sat; they called me 15 mins before closing stating that they could not figure out the problem and would need my 2nd key from Dallas just for a diagnosis. They told me I can tow my car anywhere else. On Sunday, their mechanic failed to show up. After being stranded for a day, I towed it again to Lexus of Austin on Monday, they figured and fixed my problem within 2 hrs. Enough said! I came here to get a nail hole in a tire patched, after the Great Re-roofing of 2009 caused by the hailstorms left the roads of Austin littered with evil little roofing nails. On my first visit, they told me it would be 45 minutes, and I told them I had an hour, but when they hadn't started 40 minutes later, it clearly wasn't going to happen in time. I was a little annoyed, since I had called ahead to ensure they weren't too busy, but they were apologetic and I decided to give them another try the next day. They found a second nail in another tire, and replaced that one for free due to the delay on the previous visit, so I got both patched for just over $20. Not a bad deal at all. read more

When I had a flat recently, my car was towed here. I have run flat tires and was petrified of the cost of a new one, since they are more pricey than regular ones. Goodyear called me when the car arrived, and I requested that they attempt to patch it up, if at all possible. About an hour later, I get a call back saying that it can be fixed with a patch, no problem. I appreciate them not trying to upsell me on a new tire, and when I went in to pick up my car, they informed me that I would need new tires soon, but did not scare me by pressuring me into purchasing them at that moment. I appreciate their honest customer service and good communication, and the fact that I was out of there for $25! read more

I stop by whenever my tire light blinks ON and they check the pressure and do a visual review of all my tires...When it's time to replace one, they tell me why and the prices are very competitive. I want to fully endorse this Goodyear location, not necessarily because the brand recognition but because of the staff they have employed there. Ralph initially evaluated and replaced everything while charging me literally a hundred dollars less than the other estimate I received. I had another issue with my vehicle the same day and Jose, another staff member, personally took charge and ownership of the issue resolving it 100% and doing it all in one day. I have never been so truly impressed with any type of mechanic/ repair shop. Great place w great customer service! I bought tires here a back in May along with them repairing my car this morning after my cars' fuel pressure regulator needed replacement. They let me know exactly what they were going to do and I was able to finance through their Goodyear credit card, which by the way is interest free for 6 months! read more

I stopped in for an oil change because I had a coupon to have it done for $19.99. I ended up leaving being charged almost double that amount. March 21st 2016 I took our Element in to the Goodyear at 907 E 41st St Austin, TX 78751 We had a leak in the front drivers side tire. The West Lake Hills location had looked at the tire previously and told us if it continued to give us trouble to bring it in and have it replaced. As it was covered by the insurance. I have worked in the service industry for over twenty years. Had the pleasure of working in management for Marriott. Communication and people management are a passion of mine. It's very rare that I am unable to accomplish what I set out to do with everyone happy in the end. I hope this helps you to understand the wall of resistance I was met with and that I am not just looking to complain. CJ had no interest in what I needed. From the moment I walked in the door he was dismissive and rude. He interrupted me as I explained what was wrong with my vehicle. When I attempted to explained what the other Goodyear location in Bee Cave told me he cut me off. "I don't know about some other tire place in Bee Cave. You'll have to get the number" not bothering to offer that the Goodyear location in West Lake Hills is on Bee Cave Rd. Once I looked it up he said as much. As I stood there shocked by his terrible lack of service I watched him treat other customers nicely. I was so confused. Then it struck me what was happening. I was a woman. This was the first time I had ever experienced this. He was able to treat the few other male customers with respect and switch to impatience and irritation with me in a breath. I kept a smile on my face and did my best to win him over. I calmly waited while they checked the tire again. I did not insist that they replace it as the other location had said they would. CJ gave me a condescending "there's nothing wrong with your front tire. But, your back tire was low." and sent me on my way. I had just put air all the tires that morning. That front tire had been down to 15 and I'd made sure all the others were okay. June 12th Goodyear 2824 Bee Cave Rd West Lake Hills, TX 78746 I let a lot of time pass before finally getting this taken care of. Honestly I didn't want to deal with it. It was easier putting air in the tire and worrying about getting a flat than thinking about CJ and potentially having to deal with someone else treating me that way. Eventually I asked my husband to take the car back to the West Lake Hills location. I feel a bit cowardly for not taking it myself. This location was great. I like to believe they would have been great to me. They kindly changed the tire. They also discovered a plug in that front tire. A plug that was not in the records. We have never had the tires looked at or worked on anywhere else. They also informed my husband that there was no record of the vehicle being looked over at the 41st St Goodyear. Why CJ wouldn't document the visit is very strange. It is sad that CJ feels whatever it is that causes him to treat women this way. I hope he can get the help he needs. Until then it is very risky having him in customer service and especially in management. I will not be returning to Goodyear. read more

Not an honest group working here. My daughter took the car there to have the tires filled and the first attendant said no problem and was going to take out the nail in the middle of the tire then Lionel came by and declared the tire beyond repair and a new tire needed to be purchased. Over the years I've gotten used to the old "the nail is too close to the sidewall so you need new tires" crap but this nail is nearly dead center in the tire. If you are thinking of using these guys, go somewhere else where you can trust the employees. read more

Great service and fair, honest pricing on repairs...Instead of taking my Cadillac to the dealership, I tried out the Goodyear place right around the corner from where I live. I called beforehand and spoke with a guy named Jose who said their shop can do all kinds of repairs by certified mechanics. I brought my car in they diagnosed what was wrong with it and gave me a very fair price (I compared to the repair shops in the immediate area.) I will definitely be returning to the Goodyear store for all maintenance on my vehicle in the future. read more

I have been taking my car here for last couple of years. Have always been treated fairly and honestly. Most recently, my check engine light came on. Took it to several different places to confirm what was needed, including the dealership. All places told me my catalytic converter needed to be replaced. Saved up the funds and took it here. First, the guy asked if I had a tune up recently because that might be the cause of the check engine light. Since my car has never had a tune up and it has 165,000 miles on it, I opted for the tune up since the car probably needed it and the cost was $600 less than replacing the catalytic converter. Not only did they do the tune up, (which was the cause of the light coming on), they also took it to get inspected since the inspection sticker was also due. All in under 4 hours!!! No one ever mentioned to me it might be something other than replacing the catalytic converter until I went here. About 6 months ago, I had my rear brakes replaced here. They were half the price of the shop that I had the front brakes replaced by the month prior. Super nice guys working here! Honesty is hard to find in mechanics and this place is it. Won't take my car anywhere else. Plus, they never push me to getting or adding on another service. read more

Came in for a free, routine tire check, provided for the life of the tires that I bought here about two years ago. Love the tires, they actually do help me with my gas mileage! BUT, this time, perhaps a new manager?, I was told via courtesy check that my struts needed replacing on my 140K + car, since mine were still wearing their factory label and really should be replaced every 50K. Felt lucky they hadn't failed on me, and luckier still that Goodyear coincidentally had a great sale going on struts, usually a $1500 job! I went home first and checked my repair records to find I'd had the struts replaced at another garage just 9 months ago! Took the car back to Goodyear and had them look at the labels on my struts with me there, and hey, they were not factory labels after all! Not going back there again!! read more

The service people had me in and out of the shop within an hour and 15 mins!! This is including them going to another location to pick up the parts for my SUV. We decided to check out this store because it is in the neighborhood. We then decided to use their business for new tires when they offered a 39.95 tow service. We had checked around and gotten higher bids. At first we were only going to get 2 new tires but Jose pointed out that another tire on the car was bald. We decided to get 4 new tires and an alignment. We found Jose to be friendly, knowledgeable and found the customer service at Goodyear to be far better than Sears across the street. read more
