DO NOT USE THIS LOCATION! Mother in law had her brakes "fixed" there and shortly afterwards, we drove her car to Tennessee for a vacation. There was an issue with the brakes on our drive so we took it to a mechanic while on our trip and there were multiple issues with the brake work and the lug nuts were not even fully tightened. Upon our return, she went back to Goodyear and showed them the paperwork from the TN mechanic. Instead of owning up to their mistakes, the Goodyear people told her that her car must have been vandalized and that the TN mechanic was wrong. Do not use this location as they were very rude to my 83 year old mother in law and didn't shotty work and wouldn't own up to it when they were called out for it. read more

This shop is amazing! I was driving through SC from GA to my parents' house in NC. My father was in the hospital with pneumonia while having lung cancer. My car started to shake. I went into the shop. I explained my circumstances. They understood how important it was for me to get back on the road. As soon as possible. The staff was amazing. Everyone was approachable. I had some great conversations while waiting. The shop environment was very relaxing. Other customers waiting in line were being taken care of and happy. I thought I was going to only need two new tires. It ended up being 3. They found every deal I could use to bring down the total. I was able to get back on the road within 90 minutes. I arrived at the hospital at 9:30 that night. I've never seen my dad cry like I did when I walked into his room. I will always be grateful to this shop. If I could have done more, I would have; they deserved more than lunch. Eternally grateful. read more

Took my vehicle in 18 July for a leaky power steering hose just got my vehicle back 22 July when I was called saying that work has been done now all of a sudden my vehicle won't start had I no problems nor issues starting before I taking it there so finally figured that out supposedly.I arrive to pick up my vehicle now my A/C not working which was just serviced prior to taking it there so that caused me to wait another 2 hrs. Took my car in because it needed a new starter and they charged at the high end for the cost of this job, but what was much worse, is my stereo was working fine when I took it in, and after getting it back it was dead and they wouldn't fix it. i've been to this goodyear before and had no problems. Although todqy, I had an appointment and dropped my car off. I went back to get it at the end of my appointment time when they said it would be done and my car hadn't moved. I went inside to get my keys and they said sorry because of employee shortage. I understood and said it was fine, just didn't have time today. they wanted me to make another appointment with them and I said I would do it online. the guy helping me caught attitude and rolled his eyes at me and forced me to make an appointment even though I will be canceling. I'm very disappointed and will not be returning anytime soon read more

Called to get a quote for an oil change, which is $100 anywhere I go, and asked if they have all that is necessary for the job for my car. The lady on the phone answered that they do. I then ADVISED I'D BE THERE MOMENTARILY. Once I arrived, there were, understandably, 4 other "emergency" (flat tire) jobs that arrived in between the call and my arrival (literally 10 mins in-between) Again understandable, and I then went to say that I'd like to hang out till the job is complete, that same lady then said it would be a few hours before they could get to my car and said that if she had been aware of my arrival that she would've been able to get me in sooner via appointment, implying it were somehow my fault that I didn't tell her that I was enroute. (Take notice of the capitalized lettering above). As I went to leave I noticed 4 open bays with technicians with their phones out texting it appeared. I get that the local governments want to continue with the "social distancing" & "compliance apparatus" while a virus with a MORTALITY RATE OF .04% IS FLOATING IN THE AIR. BUT, it's no excuse to place blame on your customer because you can't handle your customers in a professional manner. I wouldn't recommend this place, not unless your comfortable with getting blamed for that company's short comings. read more

Traveling home from Florida and we blew out a tire. The situation was made worse as there was additional damage to the tire rim. My car was taken back quickly and the technician confirmed that I had a nail that had gone straight through my tire and was causing it to leak. Mr. Obermeier, My family has been entrusting the Good Year on Garners Ferry rd. with all three of our vehicles for over a year and half now. On February 6, 2015 I dropped my car off for an oil change like I have many times before. I received a call about an hour later stating the car was ready to be picked up but I actually just said pull it into the bay and I will get it in the morning as we don't need it tonight. I made the same statement to the manager when I drooped my car off that I was in no rush to get it back if they wanted to wait until the morning to knock it out. On Wed Feb 11, 2015, I was driving to work and my vehicle made a loud revving noise and then when I pushed the gas pedal to accelerate it would not pick up speed. I was able to pull off the road safely and park. My husband called the Good Year store and was told sounds like a transmission challenge and we don't work on transmissions. He was given a recommendation for a transmission shop and called Dave transmission. My husband called the transmission shop and told them the challenges we were having. While on the phone with them they asked him to check the Transmission fluid. The transmission fluid was bone dry and was not even touching the stick. This is a huge challenge since I just had my car serviced 5 days before. If Good Year had done what is included in an oil change their would have been fluid in my vehicle. This is what I pay an expert to do, we trust that our cars will be maintained based off your minimum standards when getting an oil change. Now my transmission needs to be rebuilt. I am sure you are well aware of your standards but here is what is listed in a standard oil change. Service Details An oil change from the experts at a Goodyear Tire & Service Network location means a lot more than simply changing your vehicle's oil filter. It's a comprehensive maintenance service performed by our experienced, certified technicians and includes: *Your choice of premium oils, from conventional oil to 100% synthetic oil *Oil filter replacement *Lubrication of all fittings *Filling and topping-off of all fluids *Air filter checked *Engine inspected for leaks *All belts and hoses checked *Tire pressure checked *Entire undercarriage inspection So filling and topping off fluid is something that is done with EVERY oil change. Please get back with me on how you would like to proceed with this challenge that could of been prevented by a certified technician doing his job. 2nd email Mr. Obermeier, While I appreciate the call 30 min after I sent you this message this morning, I am appalled at the phone call my husband and I just had. This morning I received a call from Luis (sp) stating Mrs. Bell my GM just called regarding your email and we are going to go pick up your car and take it to our transmission guy and FIX YOUR CAR. These were his exact words. So I called Dave's transmission, who was the transmission shop that the Forest Acres GOOD YEAR RECOMMENDED and let them know that my car was going to be picked up and fixed by Good Year. This evening my husband received a call from Luis, stating in a very accusatory way, that he felt that the car's transmission issue had nothing to with them... Stating that the fluid blew out of the transmission because it burnt up and that HIS mechanic thought it was our issue. This is contradictory to what was stated by the transmission center, that the Forest Acres Good Year Location, recommended . The documentation at the Garner's Ferry location clearly stated they didn't check my transmission, so they don't know if it had fluid or not. If it was low, and it was allowed to fall below recommended levels this would cause the described behavior and lead to the transmission failing. We pay for this service to take place so this doesn't happen. Keep in mind that we added fluid after the failure and the vehicle was able to drive up onto the rollback under its on power... Creating pressure in the transmission which, if what your mechanic stated was true... would have caused the fluid to once again blow out. This would have been evident on the roll back, and at Dave's transmission and this was not observed. After contacting the service center of your choosing.. We had a conversation that stated that if in fact the transmission had been failing that the service center should have noticed through regular checks that the fluid was continuing to get low, and that the color was changing. We take the vehicle to you guys exclusively and this has never been brought to our attention. There is concern now on our part that perhaps none of our vehicles are getting thoroughly checked and who knows what other issues we could have that are being ignored.
