Terrible experience I went in to have 3 tpms sensors replaced with my sensors An oil and filter change (8 quarts) with my oil and filter I supplied (2 5 quart jugs) And a tire rotation So first problem they dismounted tires to replace sensors and didn't re balance tires afterwards. Second problem they put 10 quarts of oil in my engine Severely over filling it and wasting two $20 (each) quarts of oil. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Next they pull my truck out I go to pay and see one of the three tpms sensors I gave him on the counter so I asked if they replaced all three and salesman Robert tried to convince me I gave him 4 sensors and they replaced all 3 but unfortunately they couldn't activate them do to them using an autel tpms tool (all lies)[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I went outside and asked the tech and he said he only replaced 2 sensors and this is when I realized the tires weren't rotated either so literally everything I requested and paid for was either done incorrectly or just not done at all and then to be lied to on top of everything else by the "salesman Robert" I was less than happy. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Luckily another tech Brandon stepped in and took care of everything the way it should have been done to start with, he installed the 3rd TPMs sensor rotated the tires and and activated the TPMs sensors he was polite and helpful and the only good thing about this place.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Also while waiting inside I overheard Robert quote a woman $650 to replace rear brake pads on her car because the pads were getting close to needing replaced lol (highway robbery) [[HIGHLIGHT]]This guy Robert is a joke and needs to go back wherever he came from I assume used car sales or calling people about a warranty that's expiring soon.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] read more

DO NOT go to this mavis tire unless you want to be scammed. I brought my car to get the tire patched, and they told me I needed to replace the front two tires. I got the tires replaced because it had been a while since I had done that. During my service, (which mind you I had created an appointment for at 10 am and they did not start servicing til late evening and did not finish until after hours), [[HIGHLIGHT]]the front desk representative called me several times and notified me that I needed to replace my breaks.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I had not noticed the breaks feeling faulty at all previously. Additionally, they told me I needed to service the car in other ways, which I had just previously had operated on. I opted out of the additional service and went to get a second opinion from a more reputable mechanic, the mechanic noted that my breaks were completely fine and did not need to be serviced at all. He showed me the exact measurement they use to determine how worn breaks are, and mine were adequate and in no need of replacement. This mechanic told me that people come to them from this Mavis location often with the same problem, one just recently being scammed upwards of two thousand dollars for work that was not necessary. Not to mention, they charged me for a windshield wiper replacement and after checking out, the mechanic noticed that the Mavis staff had not even replaced the wipers. They almost charged me for an additional service they did not even complete. Save yourself and your pocket and DO NOT go to this Mavis location. I would not go here again. I called and made an appointment to get my tires changed on a Thursday and we set a price after he said he would match the price of another tire shop, and never said anything about a deposit. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When I came to my appointment they said they had the appointment in the notes but not scheduled, and told me (after having me stand around waiting for him to try and figure out what's going on for like 40 minutes) that they didn't have my tires[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] and I could make the deposit that the guy I talked to on the phone was supposed to get from me and either leave my car there, or come in on saturday at 8am, telling me that since I'd be the first car I'd get priority and instead of a 3 hour wait it'd be 1, I told him I would try but I'm not an early riser. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I called at like 8:45 and asked if I came in could I still get priority to which he said no, so I had to reschedule to Wednesday[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], then they added my deposit back onto my final price so I payed 20 dollars more than I was told I'd be paying, and I'm 85% sure that some of these "new" tires are used in good condition. 2 had significantly less air, and one of them was missing a cap. read more

i went to mavis for a routine service (oil change) and a tire patch. i set an appointment at 3pm for this service and did not leave until 6:30. i watched 5 people come in for almost the same service with no appointment and they left 45 minutes after arriving. i was told my car would be done in 45 minutes to an hour. this was not the case. i heard from the back "should we break the news to her?" and they later came in and said that my car had been slightly damaged by the heaters. my car was left under the heater for too long and burned my paint. apparently this is not the first time this has happened either. another car was also burned and they have not fixed this issue. the proper thing to do is do not use that bay until it is fixed so this does not happen. i was still charged for my services after with no discount. Okay I'm not sure what was up with them really. They ended up not being able to get my tires off of my car, let me down a wild goose chase to find a key for it that wasn't really possible to get lol. Installation and rotation for $65! They aligned for free. Made the appointment around 1100 on a Saturday, and everything was done by 1500. They even left it outside so I could pick it up after hours. I've been coming in here for the last 2 years and this last time deserves a good review, not that there has ever been a bad experience here. The gentleman helped me out hugely by putting air in my trailer tires inflating up to 110psi in the 95 degree humid heat. He also tightened some crucial nuts and bolts underneath the trailer of which I'm highly greatful. My tire experiences here have been expedient and of great value-thank you ALL. I stopped by there for tires on a fleet van and the guy I talked to was not very friendly and told me it would take hours just to get an approval. I stooped by another shop on my way home and it was a completely different atmosphere. I had new tires on the van, same day in under 2 hours. I would not recommend this location to anyone. read more

I needed a new tire pressure monitor sensor replaced in one of my tires. I arranged this over the phone and they assured me that this was an easy fix. I come in. They replace the sensor in a reasonable time and assure me that my cars computer has been reset. I check the idiot lights when I start my car. No warnings or service reminders. Great! Ten miles down the road, the tire service light reappears. I check the pressure reading and it shows no pressure. Damn! I call Mavis the next day and explain. They ask me to stop by the following day and they will rectify. I show up for my fix and the gal at the counter writes up the repair ticket. I sit down and overhear her ask the mechanics if they know how to use the "scan" tool. The replies I hear offer no promises of a success. She then informs me that I need to take my car to a dealer for the reset. How can they lie straight to my face is beyond me! I then ask why would I bring my vehicle in for a tire repair problem at a noted tire repair facility to replace a bad sensor with a sensor that provides the same information as my old bad sensor while taking off work 1.5 hours early AND pay them $90 to do virtually nothing? Down right bullshit! All they can say is sorry? By the way, the bill for the sensor replacement included a charge of $2.40 for shop supplies? Sorry... no shop supplies are needed to break the bead of a tire replace the valve stem/sensor. So... I was driving down Harbison and saw NTB. Stopped in there to ask them if could reset my cars computer. They did. It took them 15 minutes. That bill was for $56.50. Mavis owes me money. And I don't want coupons to use at their facility because I'm never going back there again! read more

Got an alignment done and they didn't even bother to check for wear and tear on the tie rods. Pretty sure it's standard practice to not perform an alignment when parts related to steering/suspension need to be replaced. Not at Mavis though. Called to ask whether or not they check tie rods before alignments and got put on hold two separate times before I decided to hang up. read more

We had just arrived at a horse show when I discovered I had a tire going flat. We are not from hear so I found them on Yelp and someone also suggested Frank's he even call ahead for me. The folks at Frank's were GREAT. I told what I needed and that I had a horse and trailer on the side of the road. They got me right in . I was visiting after a long drive and picked up a nail in one of my tires along the way which caused a slow but steady leak in the tire. I took it to Frank's on a Saturday afternoon about an hour before they were closing ... they took care of it right away, patched it up, checked the air pressure on all the tires and I was on my way in only about 10-15 minutes. Not only did they NOT try to sell me on a new tire or new set of tires, they didn't charge me at all. I can't guarantee they won't charge you, but if you want friendly, respectful, professional tire service I highly recommend Frank's. read more

The technician took one look at the tire and told me it was an easy fix (less than $30). He fixed it in less than 20 minutes and didn't charge me anything for it!!! I took my car in for an oil change and tire rotation on a Saturday morning. I did not drive my car on Sunday, Monday on my way to work my check engine light came on. (which has not come on in my nearly 4 years of driving this car) I called Mavis thinking this must be related to the service I received and the employee who answered was immediately defensive and told me I could bring it in but it would be $50 for them to run diagnostics because there was NO WAY that this could have resulted from an oil change. Accordingly, I took my car to another shop that would run diagnostics for free (TeamOne Automotive) and guess what... THERE WAS LESS THAN A QUART OF OIL IN MY CAR. The job had been done poorly and the seal broke and oil had sprayed all over and was dripping from the under carriage. I would not be nearly as upset with just a mistake but the mistake followed by terrible customer service is unacceptable. I will never be back to Mavis Discount Tire and I encourage anybody reading this to do the same. read more

I called franks asking how much to mount tires and rims that i had purchased online. he told me he could do it for 40 bucks. after they had already done the work, i am told that it was actually 40$ per tire and that my total is 170$!!!! 40 dollars a tire is absolutely outrageous and i would have never agreed for them to go through with it if i had known i would be screwed that bad. could have gone to a different shop for half the price. not to mention the guy at the front had an attitude and didnt acknowledge me for 5 minutes while i stood at the front desk. The people who work at this facility are beyond awesome. Being a busy college student it is beyond frustrating when you have car issues, especially living far from home where you're familiar with individuals who can help you. The first time I went to Frank's was back in November 2015. I had gotten a screw in my tire and needed my spare taken off and my tire plugged and put back on. I had to be back to class in an hour and they assured me the car would be moved to the top priority and they would call me as soon as it was done. My car as ready in 45 minutes and I was only charged $14. Now, 5 months later the same tire was nearly completely flat when I got up for class the next morning. I took it down to Frank's with my old invoice and they had it fixed in an hour, free of charge. My roommate also had a great experience at Frank's. She ran over a nail on the way to work and took it to Frank's the same day and they fixed it free of charge and in a hurry so she could make it to work on time.
