If your looking for a home town no frills cafe GooRoo's is for you. Don't expect white table cloths and fine china. Do expect local diner, great burgers and sandwiches and seafood and fair prices. First meal we have eaten out for less than $60. Their burgers as everyone else states are the best thing on the menu. Large patty's with any topping you can think of and they even toast their buns. Best side are the onion rings. They are not homemade but still hot and crispy. Shrimp taco's were also very flavorful. They were more like shrimp burrito's for how large they were. Is all the food handmade; No. Is the service great; Yes. Is the ambience great; Yes. Everyone was friendly and very informative about the food and drink refills.

I've heard great things about this spot and was eager to give it a try for the first time. The interior reflects an unpretentious spirit, with its simple wooden tables, chairs, and booths. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it the perfect spot for a casual meal with friends or family. At GooRoo's, the menu offers a tempting array of options, ranging from hand-pressed burgers to locally sourced seafood dishes, with each meal cooked fresh to order. Appetizers include wings, Buffalo shrimp, cheese sticks, fried pickles, onion rings, fried mushrooms, smoked tuna dip, hushpuppies and cheese, or fried veggies. Seafood choices include plates or sandwiches with smoked tuna, shrimp, mahi-mahi, fish, and catfish. Having heard about one sandwich specifically, I ordered the 1/2 lb monster GooRoo burger with everything on it, and it didn't disappoint. The service is attentive and friendly, and a full bar with wine choices is available for those who wish to enjoy a drink with their meal. Parking is ample, and outdoor seating is available for those who prefer to dine al fresco. The restaurant is also kid-friendly, making it a great option for families. Goo Roos has become our favorite local go-to. The service is consistently friendly and efficient and the food never disappoints. It is our favorite burger in the area and their fried catfish is great! Lunch specials are a great deal and the entire menu is reasonably priced. We would love to keep this place a secret but that wouldn't be good for their business...so give them a try...it's a great local place for a great meal. read more

These people make AMAZING food for a little take-out place!!! The GOOROO Burger is a cheeseburger that fell from heaven, I'm telling you!!! I've also had their gumbo (BEST I've ever had!) and their Philly Cheese-steak (so tasty!) To be honest, I'm going to have to try everything on their menu. They are going to think I'm a totally crazy person but I don't care. They are around the corner from my house and they provide delicious take-out food made with FRESH ingredients so I'm never tempted to buy fast food crap. Currently, they are operating out of a catering truck on 104 just west of 59 in Robertsdale. But they are moving into the building that Quizno's (Robertsdale) just vacated. It's sort of near Arby's. It's going to be so exciting to visit them with air-conditioning!!! (I'm writing this during the blazing summer heat) Instead of settling for fast food, swing by GooRoo's for a cheeseburger, philly, po-boy, or other meal of awesomeness. read more

My dad and I went here two days in a row for lunch. The first day I had the country fried steak with mashed potatoes and potato salad. The whole meal was amazing I couldn't stop talking about it. The next day I had the GooRoo burger with potato salad and it was one of the best burgers I've ever had. Their potato salad is absolutely delicious. I've always loved GooRoo's Grill. Food has always been served hot with great portion size. I recently went for lunch and was again pleasantly surprised that they were adequately staffed. Everyone has been begging for staff and their service affected BUT not GooRoos! Service was very efficient. This place has awesome food. We have eaten here for years. Never been disappointed. Tonight was the disappointment we have experienced. The cashier carried on a conversation with a friend about nonsense stuff while a lined stared to form to pay for their food. This went on for a while. Everyone else was very busy. The friend finally saw us standing there and said don't you need to help these people. The manager was making salads and saw what had happened and apologized. I expressed how unprofessional and rude it was and she again apologized. It may be a while before we eat there again and I will tell people about the experience. read more

So, after a soccer game (we won), I took the team plus parents, about 25 people, to Gooroos and we were welcomed with smiles and 5 star hospitality. The wait staff was on point and friendly, the food was fast, hot and delicious. My son, who always eats chicken sandwiches wherever we go, said it was the best he's ever had. By far, the best hamburger in Baldwin County. If you are looking for an old fashioned burger the way dad used to cook it, this is the place. They use the perfect sized bun which is usually the downfall of most burger joints. The 1/2 pounder spills over the edges. Freshly ground meat that you can definitely tell did not come from the freezer. And it's consistently awesome. I go there as often as I can and it is always superb. I'm addicted no doubt. And to top it off it comes with crinkle cut fries. Perfect. If you love burgers do yourself a favor!! read more

This small restaurant has A LOT to offer. The service was top notch!!! Stopped in for lunch and ordered the fried shrimp and oysters with potato salad. I have to say it was the BEST potato salad I've ever tasted. It was packed with flavor. The fried shrimp was lightly coated and fresh. I probably could have ate a whole basket of the hush puppies. They were superb. I had way more food than I could eat. My husband ordered the Adam Bomb burger. It was perfectly cooked and the cheddar cheese and jalapeños were mixed into the burger. Prepare to get messy but it was amazing if you like a little kick. read more

It's very good if you want the greasy spoon type food. We had the monster burger which the waitress recommended, and a BLT for something "lite." The burger was good, greasy, messy but that's what we expected! The crinkle-fries were cold, and not crispy. Not sure why. The BLT was very good, nothing different about it, but it was just what I wanted. The staff was great, service excellent, and very friendly. The place was packed but they got people in and out pretty quickly. Lots of carry outs, too. read more

Was starving and just passing through to Gulf Shores so we yelped Robertsdale. This place ended up being such a gem. We found out it was locally owned and operated by the owners. They went out of their way and were very interested in making our meal & experience the best they could. The prices are very reasonable. Not like the overpriced places the nearer you get to the beach. I get the impression this is a local hang-out that welcomes us beach seekers. Eating local is better than settling on some chain or tourist trap restaurant. They had a attentive (and ATTRACTIVE) staff serving a good variety of great food. The sea food basket my wife got was budget priced and really good. I did the GooRoo burger,. In a word 'excellent'. (Why did GooRoo's get 5 stars when I gave 5 Guys only 4 stars? GooRoo's serves beer!) I recommend eating at GooRoo's and feeling happily satisfied before getting ripped off by the tourist beach joints. read more

Was recommended by Alligator Alley, showed up with a party of 8. A lady outside said she eats there three times a week and recommends the Bacon GooRoo's burger especially. I ordered that, 1/2 pound, and it was Really good. The bun was almost doughy in its softness but held everything together still so it was just perfect. We had great service, even my picker eater kid literally ate her Entire meal for the first time during our whole week-long vacation. Praise God. read more

BEST HOMEMADE CHIPS I HAVE EVER HAD!!! We were nearby visiting the Loxley Strawberry Festival and as we left we asked one of the locals to recommend a good burger place. They recommended GooRoo's. Go where the locals go......certainly glad we did. Great little food joint which also serves beer, wine and a few alcoholic beverages. I had a classic 1/4 lb burger with mushrooms, onions and Swiss cheese. It was delicious! What was even better though we're the homemade potato chips! Wait staff was prompt and delightful. They have a pretty diverse menu including shrimp, fish, hamburger steak, soup of the day.....among other thing. The folks I was tried the onion rings and they said they were great. I will definitely go back when I am in the area. Ask your server where the name came from.....pretty cute story. read more

Our food is cooked to order and always fresh! Our hand pressed burgers are a customer favorite along with our seafood! Philly's are made with ribeye we slice ourselves and our smoked tuna is made with tuna that we smoke! Our veggies, that are cut daily, are for our delicious salads and the chili is as homemade as it gets! Our fresh chicken sandwiches are made on a sour dough bun with chicken that is hand cut and the fried pickles are battered to order!

For June, they are offering night service on Friday's, still 5 courses and the food is amazing. It's called the Southern Revival menu. The spare ribs are like nothing you have ever had before. They said they were cooked confit style for 5 or 6 hours, after a 24 hour cure, then rested for one day and finished with Ann amazing glaze (so 3 days to make these ribs). The watermelon salad is out of this world, then the short ribs were not over mashed potatoes- no ma'am, think more like Joel Rubechon Pomme puree- velvety smooth potatoes and crispy onion straws on top. The Banoffee Pudding is banana pudding taking up about 10 notches. You definitely want to check this out and you will want to call by Thursday morning to make a reservation. Only thing we would have preferred is if the fried cheesecake was actually fried. It was full on frozen and had to be cut with a knife. But hubby loved it anyway.

The gravy has just enough sausage and the biscuit is covered with just enough gravy to enjoy the biscuit but not overwhelming. The biscuit is perfectly baked and yes you can actually taste it. The gravy is unique on its on and together-Voila! The female at the window greeted us enthusiastically and made our day. We will be back!

This restaurant is my wife and my go to place for a good lunch and sometimes dinner. The gumbo is great as is just about everything. The owner knows how to make a shrimp creole that is great and I bug him about it but he just won't make it. I know he has a good reason though. I have never had a bad meal or bad service there. If someone gets something bad, it is their fault because the staff will make it right. read more
