Absolutely wonderful food in a casual setting. I went for the shrimp and oyster basket. You can choose between fried, grilled and blackened. I got my oysters fried and shrimp blackened with a side of onion rings and potato salad. The seafood was perfectly cooked and the oysters were perhaps the best I've ever had. The potato salad was like a twice baked potato salad - unique and wonderful. Great service. Highly recommended. read more

Really solid food.... Place is packed daily and this place is not for the healthy conscious diet. However, if you are looking for excellent hamburgers, fried chicken sandwich ( which I recommend / bacon and BARBQ sauce), fried cheese sticks, Po Boys, and even good salads.... This is a perfect economical lunch on the way to the beach.... Even Robertsdale cops frequent this location.... It has to be good. Oh, the waitresses are full of Southern charm and flirt with the best of them.... Love it. read more

For my friends that come to the gulf coast: went up to Robertsdale for dinner to get away from the fried tourist dinner traps (ouch) to GooRoos Grill. Wanted to be good on the diet: side salad, grilled shrimp and fish, mixed grilled veggies. I'll go back just for the veggies; less expensive and great service and quality. Haven't been there in a while so we decided to go again today. A little disappointment came upon me as I got my shrimp dinner basket. They have downsized the shrimp and kept or increased the price. Sixteen dollars for twelve small - medium ( 36-40 ) size shrimp is not good. They used to serve a 26-30 or bigger. The seafood restaurant that went out business served this smaller size of shrimp. The coleslaw wasn't good at all as my wife also couldn't eat it. The sweet tea was not that good either. Had quite a bite to it. Had to give up on that. This kind of tea is served up north. Now the feller next to us ordered a hamburger and it looked awesome. Might try that the next time, it there is a next time. read more

Down in LA (lower Alabama) this restaurants menu is as common as white sand and sunny skies. All the staff is friendly, you get a decent meal for what you pay and it is independent. Unfortunately they have not found their own voice. They serve what everyone else serves so the only determining factor is convenience of location or lines to differentiate. If this little place found their own voice (blackened as a style of cooking and not a salt based seasoning) and created a couple of signature sides and entrees and they would hit it out of the park. The chili is home made and just perfectly chili, nothing weird. Hit the spot. The fish and shrimp, grilled were not over cooked as can and does often happen with seafood. The carry out order was correct and complete. My husband had the burger one night and it was mighty fine (per B) and held together unlike some of the other local "gourmet" options. read more

We went here on our way out from a fabulous weekend at the hangout in Gulf Shores, Alabama. At the festival I had the most amazing jumbo shrimp and I just needed some more before I completely left the area. I yelped this place and based on the reviews I expected the seafood to be as amazing as everything I had had all weekend. Well I ordered the seafood basket which was fried shrimp, fried fish, and fried oysters. They were good just not as good as what I had at other places all weekend. Just visiting the area and tried this place out. Great find. Service was great, very friendly staff and food was very good. Had a cup of seafood gumbo and wished I had ordered a bowl, best I have had except for my mothers. Tried the blacked fish sandwich, awesome and my husband had a hamburger, said it was really good. Fries were good as well. Also ordered the fried pickles.....huge basket and really good. Price was right. read more

This place is great, I mean it. If you're looking for a really good burger or shrimp sandwich this is the place. On 59 just north of the Hwy 104 intersection, on the west side of the road. White building, no drive through though their business would probably double if they had one. Service is friendly and fairly quick. read more

We are vacationing and decided to try GooRoos based on a recommendation from someone we ran into. It is very good! Staff is nice, place is very clean. My kids had burgers, husband a chicken club and I had the grilled shrimp. We also had onion rings, mozzarella sticks and hush puppies. The batter they use for the onion rings and mozzarella is amazing not at all greasy. Honestly everything was very good and we plan to be back at least one more time before we leave. read more

Great, fresh food for the area. Service is mediocre, but they do have some pretty awesome wings! I wouldn't recommend the gumbo tho, it's like it has little bits of bone or something in it. read more
