    Large Intestine Casserole
    Janice C.

We came here few times because they have good intestine menus that other Korean restaurants don't have. Service is good and friendly. It has the Korean cool vibes. Since it has a high ceiling, and the vent is doing pretty good, the air is not smoky and stiff like other bbq restaurants.

Our group came here on a rainy Friday night to celebrate a friend's birthday. This allowed us to order a large variety of dishes (which unfortunately I was too busy celebrating and eating to photograph) that I enjoyed. As others have stated this place specializes in intestines, which makes them the dishes to get. Our group went with the Deluxe Set figuring for the price and listed items we would get plenty of food - wrong about that. I don't recall exactly what was on the list, but I probably tried one of each (tongue, kalbi, pork belly) because there was not much placed on the grill. The items I did try were disappointing and made me wonder why didn't we just go to an AYCE KBBQ spot instead. The other dishes made up for it. I am not a huge fan of intestines, but when in Rome... I will eat and enjoy my fair share. I enjoyed the grilled Combo Gui - preferring the small intestines to the large and entrails. I suggested and the group was in agreement on the octopus, intestine and shrimp casserole. I was a huge fan of this dish - the not too spicy, smoky flavorful tomato-ey broth tied all the flavors together plenty of the main ingredients were throughout this dish. We ordered a fried rice dish with 3 servings to share. This is made tableside on a skillet and served with a ring of egg. It was a good amount and helped round out the meal. The servers were a bit MIA at times, but we managed to get all we needed. I also appreciated they do the cooking tableside. Seeing a 20% tip automatically added to the bill made us understand the service hiccups better. There was a 10% cash discount (and pro tip: there is a non-sketchy looking atm inside that did not charge a fee). I probably would have been at 3 stars considering the deluxe set disappointment, but I have an appreciation for a place that does intestines well because they can be tricky (and probably dangerous if done the wrong way) and that casserole is something I would return for.. the regular cuts of meats were unimpressive, but, all and all, cool story bro!

A little busy on a rainy Friday night, but no wait for a table of 5. Although the space is pretty big, with some upstairs seating, the tables are a little tightly spaced. We could not sit at one of the seats (it was a table of 6), because there was someone sitting at the table behind it. They have a QR code on the table for ordering, but we preferred to order off the paper menu. That said, the service is not very attentive, as we had to flag down someone every time we needed something. There was a good variety of the banchan. We finished most of them, and requested another bowl of the macaroni salad. The Steamed Egg was fluffy and tasty. We quickly finished this, and ordered a second one. The Deluxe Set was not really worth it, as the meats besides the intestine were nothing special. It came with a few pieces of each (beef tongue, kalbi and pork belly), some asparagus, onions and a decent portion of the intestine, as well as onions. I do wish the onions were grilled. We ended up putting them on the grill with our order of Assorted Gui. You're better off just ordering that. The Assorted Gui (for 2) was a an obvious choice to get, since they are known for their intestines. It also came with a couple rice cakes, which were tasty once grilled. A must get! The Fried Rice and Fish Roe had to be ordered after we finished our intestines. We got a portion of 3, which was the right amount for us. It had a bit of a kick. The Octopus, Intestine & Shrimp Casserole was flavorful with lots of octopus, intestine and shrimp. It had a good kick to it. I liked the softer texture of the intestine compared to the grilled version. There is a 10% cash discount, but 20% automatic gratuity. There is an ATM, with no fees, inside the restaurant. If you're into intestines, this is the place to go!

Hmm...I think this review is based on the preference. While I don't have much experience with intestines, I find the flavor to not be mine. It was a crowded restaurant on a Saturday night and I was extremely excited to meet up with friends and feast. However, I didn't enjoy the food. The intestines were so fatty and oily. The seafood pancake was fine, but not great. Overall, nothing was memorable. The service was great though.

I come here like once a week, and it's my favorite place to eat in Flushing. This location is infinitely more spacious than the one in K-Town, and it's less busy. I always go for around 3 servings for 2 people, and I opt for the marinated large intestine and unmarinated entrails. I am not fond of the small intestine. I also get the cold noodles, steamed egg, and some soju! It's usually around $40-$80 per person after tip (depending on the add ons). My one HUGE complaint as a frequent customer, however, is with the ordering app they use. I've had at least 4 issues on different visits where I've received the wrong order. The app often doesn't clear when you sit down at a new table, and it'll add residual orders (presumably from old carts). I've been upset at the staff here for pushing the blame on me (multiple occasions btw) when from my end, the order I submitted was correct. I've gotten to the point of taking a screenshot of the order I've submitted every time to avoid more conflicts with them. It's a shame because this is my favorite place to eat, and I'm not a confrontational person at all. Food here is a 5/5! There's a cash discount! SS your order!

Gopchang Story's rise in the ultra competitive Korean dining scene started in a few years ago, just a few months shy of the pandemic. Fast forward a number of years and they've done well, outpacing their Manhattan location (#1) in terms of quality and service. I'm a sucker for a place that stays open late (#2) and offers a fun ambiance. The interior is modern, spacious, and very group friendly. I love the souped up, overhead ventilation fans and the additional second level. I've seen dates, families, and massive groups all thrive while feasting and drinking. The food presentation is stellar. The cuts of fatty beef, the hearty jungol style casseroles, to their individual noodle bowls / rice platters are always perfectly laid out and make for a good food photo-op. From the cube steak to the flower pork belly, I'm a fan of most of their meat cuts. The beef brisket casserole earns top honors for me, but the octopus, intestine, and shrimp hot pot is also an excellent choice. In fact, for intestine lovers, this is the place to be. I think some other honorable mentions would be their boochoo gochoo pancake and the beef brisket pancake. I do think the beef tartare is wonderfully seasoned and the gopgamchi (aka fried intestine with garlic, potato, and cheese) is a surprising hit. For rice lovers, I am always partial to the tripe and intestine fried rice, which is also very tasty. I haven't had any major issues with the service and the pricing is average for the area. I do think this is one of the better a la carte Korean BBQ experiences in Flushing proper. I am already looking forward to my next (late night) visit. __________ (#1) https://www.yelp.com/biz/gopchang-story-bbq-new-york (#2) Open till midnight on most nights, but 2AM on others.

Food was good. It was a busy day and the service was so so. We waited quite a bit for our food. We wanted all the food to come out at the same time but they would only give us a new dish after we finished the prior dish. We had to ask several times for the fried rice to come out while we had the meat. The music was really loud plus so many people that I could barely hear my friends. It became a bit frustrating by the end. The only time the waiter would come by is when we asked for the bill. They tried to charge us for food (shrimp fried rice) that we ordered but never came. We asked them to bring the shrimp fried rice out but instead they just cancelled the order which was fine because we were very full anyways. I usually come here during lunch when it's more empty and the service is better and ambiance is less distracting. Not sure why this time the service was much worse than before. I usually come here to fulfill my gopchang craving but will try to come during less busy times.

Such a cute place inside and thank goodness for the table vents. Food is delicious and the servers are attentive. Would go back to try more of their other items.

Do NOT wear nice clothes here because the smell will stick and you will smell like BBQ all day. If you need to lower your cholesterol levels, you shouldn't even be looking at this place. The intestines just become greasier as it cooks. The restaurant can be quite loud or quiet depending on the time you get there. The wait staff is friendly enough depending on who is with you but you don't have to worry about cooking your food. Well, you're there for the food. The restroom is clean enough and located in the back to the right side. As for parking, depending on the day, you'll either find a spot on Northern Blvd (metered) or you can drive around the block. This is a place my best friend and I visit and she orders for us (I just take pictures for the food porn to send out to friends and post on social media and I eat). You can scan the QR code on the table and take a look at the menu there and order. We get the Large intestine "gui" regular and marinated. The marinated is my favorite and it's full of flavor. You can add on but this is what we get most of the time. For the first time, we tried the Prime Beef rib. They will coat the grill plate with fat and add on the meat and asparagus (or whatever vegetables they have for the day). It was good but I wouldn't be ordering it regularly due to the price for a few pieces of beef. As you're ordering your gui, make sure you order extra rice cake. They will come around and pour out the grease as it continues to cook but you should stop them before they do. When they come out with the grill plate, add all the rice cake in that grease and let it become warm and crispy. When you're finished eating your entrails and rice cake, make sure you order fried rice with cheese and fish roe. One serving was more than enough for the two of us.

    Huge dining space

This restaurant is A LOT bigger than the one in manhattan and the food portion bigger as well. I went during the weekday, so it wasn't crowded. I personally enjoyed the spaces between each tables and the ventilation being offered for each bbq table. Food was good and they had other variety of dishes available outside of Korean bbq/intestines.

    Mandy T.

Much larger than the Manhattan location - the place was pretty packed and lively for a weekday night. There is a second floor inside the restaurant (there's a neon sign leading you that points upstairs). I'm not really sure what's upstairs since I didn't see anyone there (I presume it's like a bar or additional seating area). You order via a QR code here and it's pretty straightforward. Prices are a little cheaper than Manhattan too much is a plus! I always get the daechang (large intestine) but the pork belly is solid as well. I like how if you order more than 1 portion of meat, they'll cook the other portion at another table so you don't have to wait very long for your food to cook. Get the fried rice at the end! 1 portion is more than enough for feed 2 people and it's only $5.

    Tripe Fried Rice
    Yingxin Y.

They are famous with beef organ combo bbq, which is the reason we came here for. However, the organs taste so light, especially the intestine. I won't come back for this combo. But the fried rice taste so good !!! The stuff will put the white rice on the pot and then add some Korean spicy sauce , after stirring fry them together, they will put cheese and eggs, it looks good and taste good! $50 per person, overall worthy 4 stars

There was a lot of energy in the place. The wait staff were friendly. Food was great but was pricey per skewer. Food 5/5: Delicious and tasted close to skewer cart (this is a win!). Would have loved to try more things but some skewers were up to $3 each so it got pricey fast. They did have a large selection of skewers to choose from. You get a wrist band with a QR code that tracks what skewers you order. Non-skewer items could be ordered using your phone. Everything was fresh. They had house-made spice and sauce packets at each table. Every table had a cheat sheet showing how long to barbecue each type of skewer. We tried the bbq scallops which were full of garlicky goodness and cold noodles which was a refreshing balance to the heat of the grill. Service 5/5: Friendly waiter. Gave us the run down on how things worked in the restaurant. Periodically checked in on us. No complaints. Ambiance 4/5: Prefacing that the high energy environment was not really my cup of tea but I know others may prefer it. Bright flashing lights and loud music playing over speakers drowned out conversation. That said, the tables were spaced well so every party had their own personal space and restaurant was clean.
