We came here with high hopes and, I secretly hoped to be blown away but instead it blew. There were elements of goodness but overall, the quality really wasn't up to par. There were only two other tables during dinner service on a weeknight. The server lady was both helpful and exceptionally hands-on, checking on us multiple times while we were flipping through the menu and suggesting this and that. We decided on a la carte and here's how it went. Food came out without much delay, starting with nine side dishes. They were all in all acceptable and highlights were the mushroom and dried squid. The grilled mackerel was huge and came on a sizzling hot plate, and the bean paste soup was authentic. The spicy pork, however, was unrecognisable as anything that I know or have ever tasted. It certainly wasn't marinated, was indistinct, and unexpectedly bland. There's no lack of competition or Korean restaurants to choose from in this part of town, so I doubt I would be running back here next time I need my K-food fix, but I wish them well and hope they continue to improve. read more

When we told that the food just came out sour and had a fishy, the waitress ignored and did not take any action. I stop eating for a while waiting the server would come to our table, but she just served other table. We called the owner and complained the food was something wrong. She brought it to the chef and came back that the chef said it was not wrong and told us to complain to the chef if we had a complain. What the hell their attitude treats to customers? We were supposed to pay all including the spoiled fish because we already full by BBQ and the fish dish was ordered extra. However, the attitude of waitress (purposly ingnorjng when she faced our complain) and owner(told us to complain directly to the chef) made us mad. read more

We got here around 7pm and lucky there was a table left for us. It was all packed. Many side dishes. Havnt had a good seafood pancake in awhile. It was full of seafood and it had crispy edges. we got the 생고기 모듬 and 소고기 모듬 combos. The server was very good at grilling the meat and service was good. I liked some meats better than others tho: -생갈비 (non-marinated kalbi): 3/5: just wasn't flavorful enough, also don't like the taste of not marinated kalbi - 와규삼겹 (wagyu pork belly): 5/5: best pork belly i've ever had - 등심: 4/5: looked like steak. It was so tender and melted in your mouth, but I wasn't the biggest fan of this cut of meat - 차돌 (brisket): 5/5: was good, can't complain - 양념갈비 (marinated kalbi): 3/5: I just love sansookapsan's kalbi a lot more, so compared to their kalbi it was not as addicting and delicious - 물냉면 (nok cha mul naengmyun): 2/5 was way too sweet The servers were very professional and good at their job. This place is under new management. I've been searching for good daeji galbi (Korean marinated pork rib BBQ) and finally found the place. Best in Flushing! My family has been to all the restaurants in this location, and the current one is the best. Absolutely delicious. I will need to try other dishes but daeji galbi was fantastic. Are you kidding me? Initially the 11 dishes of Bonchon were impressive. However, after tasting the eggplant bonchon it was spoiled and had a bad aroma. I had to spit it out. Then came my husband's Galbi which was boneless cuts of mystery meat. What kind of restaurant that SPECIALIZES in Galbi gives out so called Galbi without the bone??? Then my bulgogi beef came and looked like frozen slices of tasteless beef. The white rice was slightly off color too meaning it was from the day before. With the sourness from the spoiled eggplant still on my tongue, I lost my appetite. When I complained to the owner she asked us to pay for this meal and she'd give a discount for next time. Well we didn't each much and there is no next time. We didn't want to make a scene as it was Lunar New Year and full of customers so we just got up and left without paying. Owner didn't follow but I would have made a big scene for all to hear if she did. Her worst comment was that she just took over as the new owner. If so, why run it further into the ground? read more

Food was fine but honestly nothing amazing. And while the prices for the meats were generally on-par with other korean restaurants, the bill was rather high because they make a killing on the drinks. The drink menu does not list any prices either - just photos of their offerings. I personally would not choose to go back. Plenty of other options for similar or better. read more

My family and I visited this restaurant on a Sunday night without a reservation. When we arrived at 5:30pm, the restaurant was around 60% occupied, but it was pretty full by 6:30pm. We ordered 4 servings of their Dweji Galbi and 1 order of the Nokcha Bibim Naengmyeon. It was a pretty generous portion of meat for the price. It was plenty of food for my family because my mom doesn't like meat and I wasn't hungry, but I would recommend ordering more than 1 serving per head if everyone was eating at their full potential. Their complementary Doenjang Jjigae was my favorite dish on the table. The taste and temperature hit the spot. The service was good and the waitresses paid good attention to our meat. I'm excited to go back to try the spicy Dweji Galbi and Makchang gui intestines. I've seen so many restaurants go in and out of business in this spot, and I'm hoping Suwon Galbi is one to stay. read more

I don't know if it was because it was busy or if the new management has really made this place terrible, but it was not good at all. First the lack of service, the servers barely came to the table and we had to get up multiple times to get plates and chopsticks. They also didn't even have the right amount of place settings for how many of us they tried to squeeze in one table. Second I wish I could say the food redeemed the experience but it was terrible. The side dishes were flavorless, the meats were under cooked, and they didn't even cut them in small enough portions to eat. If we get sick tomorrow, we will know why considering it was pork that was under cooked. The soups and eggs also arrive way after the rest of the food when we were almost finished. Again, could have been the busy day, but it left such a bad taste in our mouths that we probably wouldn't give this spot another chance! read more

Amazing new Korean BBQ restaurant! I went on Friday evening and the feel was so calming and peaceful. Perfect after a long week. The meat was so tender and juicy, the ban chan was plentiful and most importantly the service was excellent and the owners were so sweet and gracious, the amazing staff brought us a free order of homemade mandu we didn't even request. Ambiance we great, it was very busy but not too loud. Service was awesome! I think the owner came by several times to make sure we were enjoying the food. He gave us an extra egg dish which was very nice. We ordered the 4 portions of thin and thick slices of samgyupsal, galbi, and cold noodles (neng myun) for 3 people. The noodles were on the sweeter side which is not what we were used to. The meat tasted good. Samgyupsal was like any other restaurant. Galbi wasn't my favorite, it felt very chewy, didn't necessarily melt in my mouth. We usually can finish 4 portions but this day we had leftovers. I love that their offer tons of different ban chans - a lot more than other Korean restaurants I been to. Their kimchi was full of flavor, not too spicy and good amount of pungency that I had when I went to Seoul. They also offer fish pancake as a free ban chan that is pan fried fresh. We ordered the Galbi Jim, non spicy tteokbokki, marinated beef Galbi, pork Kalbi combo and the seafood pancake. My favorites were the marinated Galbi and marinated pork for the BBQ - full of flavor and cooked perfectly by the staff. They also use charcoal which also adds some nice flavor to the meat. The Galbi Jim is bit different here than the usual sweet and spicy that I was use to. It was made in a spicy broth you expect from a Korean hot pot. The meat fell off the bone and was very tender. The staff and service was top notch - the owner walked around and cook the food himself and was very personable and talkative. He even gave us some free fried dumplings on the house. The bill overall was $300 including tip which was about $50 per person which was a great deal for the amount of food we had. Great restaurant and I would definitely recommend. read more
