This spot always popped up on my yelp but never went because not going to lie..the area. However!!! Once you go inside you are transported to another "world" it has a great chill aesthetic. The staff is great, very friendly. No up charge for using a different milk is a HIGH plus for me. We got a chismoso and bischochito, a danish and chocolate cream cheese muffin. The chismoso a 10/10. They also had some great-looking cookies. The café itself is small but cozy, with high-top tables and seating along the wall. Came in on a weekday afternoon, and even though they were quite busy, got our drinks pretty quick! It's cute inside, with jazzy café music playing. The place feels cozy and is nicely designed, with board games for people to play! Tables have nice quotes on them. There's also waiting chairs...so intentional with their space! They proudly use Latin American coffee. Right now, they are brewing Guatemalan coffee. Tried the Estilo el Gordo with regular milk (this one I thought tasted ok) & La Mistres which has Uji, Japan sourced ceremonial matcha! The latter has biscoff cookie crumbles, cookie caramel syrup at the bottom and top, delicious! All the cups are 20 oz. I love their lids which are nice and roomy, they don't feel flimsy! There are unfortunately no decaf coffee options, so for those who are seeking decaf coffee be prepared to seek other alternatives within the menu. I asked about what are the drinks the team here recommends and they said the strawberry matcha latte and horchata latte. Since the strawberry matcha came up first, I went for it. Strawberry matcha latte with almond milk. Incredibly delightful. I really appreciated the strawberry topping on top and the jam at the bottom. It was a treat that got me through studying for the finals. What struck me most about Gordos Cafecito are the board games, books, and accessible outlets there are for each seating area. The Matcha mazapán drink i ordered "Mi sugar" was delicious! The wait time could definitly be worked on. They had about 5-6 orders and waited for each one to be ready to bring them all out together. They should really work on getting the drinks out as they're ready, being that multiple workers were there and some were just standing around. Im so happy that more cafes are opening up locally especially near CSUSB so students can come & study & what not...there were a lot of seatings, though I did not notice a lot of outlets around in case you need to charge your laptop & devices to study & work. I noticed that when I got the banana matcha in the morning it didn't come with a cold foam as it says it should...then I went in the afternoon & got two drinks & noticed that the strawberry matcha came with cold foam & a cute design on it! went recently & my experience was much different than before. First off when ordering my mom told the cashier "quiero este" while pointing at a drink on the menu. The girl says "I don't speak Spanish" and my mom then tells her in English. But it seemed so unnecessary to say that when it was easy to understand what was being asked for. Also all workers should be bilingual if they're working at a Latino coffee shop. Or they can at least not be rude about someone ordering in Spanish. Also the cold foam was VERY sweet. It used to be better when it wasn't sweet a because the drink are already sweet and then the cold foam is EXTRA sweet feeling like diabetes in a cup. I really love the drinks here but that was truly a disappointing experience. ALSO got the platanito matcha and they gave it to me with no foam or banana pudding or whatever was supposed to be on top like the menu said. It was just matcha with 2 banana chips on top. read more

I was in the area and knew I had to go down and try it! The cafe is on a busy main road, in a shopping plaza. It's easy to spot, with a prominent sign and banner. There was only some girls in the cafe, other than my bf and I. The menu is right at the entrance! It's the first thing you see, next to the table along the wall with some cute interesting decor, like spilled coffee. It looks real! xD I was debating between the La Mistress or the Ma-Chata! I decided to get the Ma-Chata, which is matcha and horchata. At the counter, the barista was very warm and friendly. She answered my questions on any drinks being gluten or gluten free. I appreciated that. There is also a pastry shelf right next to the counter, with croissants and muffins. We sat at one of the tables along the wall, near the restroom. Each table has a board game, like chess, checkers, connect four. We played checkers at our table. We were entertained while waiting for our drinks. Other people had been coming and going while we were there. I think I waited maybe 10-15 minutes for the drink. The drink was so heavenly, perfectly mixed matcha and horchata. I was, however, disappointed by the small size of their new dessert for the price and that the strawberries were freeze dried - but the flavors were still satisfying.
