I have visited Gordo's many times over the last couple of years. My go to meal is the 3 finger combo with double fries. Also the Gordo's Fries are really good! The staff's customer service skills are excellent. Chris is one of the best. I always enjoy talking with him while I wait for my food! When I go to events I get excited to see the Gordo's truck! I really like that they added phone in ordering to skip the wait! I tell all my friends about Gordo's on a regular. I have even picked up party platters for my coworkers. They all say that the food was BOMB and when can we get it again. There is a lot of Hot Chicken spots but there is Only One Gordo's! I will continue to support the Gordo's Boys! read more

Visiting the area and have wanted to try Gordo's for a while. Finally had it yesterday and was not disappointed. The amount and quality of food is awesome; everyone loved it. We wanted to get t-shirts before heading back to Kansas City but the food court location was short on sizes. Someone from one of the trucks DROVE OVER the size we needed in the cool Aztec design and then the sweet girl working at the food court location BROUGHT the additional t-shirt we bought out to our car. On top of the food being great, this kind of customer service is mind-blowing. Way to go Gordo's. We're fans for life; we left full and happy! I'm absolutely shook to see the low ratings here... just tried this place today and it was absolutely amazing. Got my food in about ten minutes, the only knock I had on this place is that they put my chicken sando on Hawaiian rolls. While it was DELICIOUS, it was hard to eat, wouldn't hurt to put it on a human sized slice of bread. That was it - that was the only con. Everything else was fantastic we got regular spice which was just fine I could have gone up a step and I'm a weakling when it comes to spice. The tenders and fries for kids were sufficient. My kids are picky and ate them. The gordo fries are a must have and delicious. Super filling and delicious. The sando with slaw and pickles was absolutely fire. I travel a bunch from central coast to socal and this is off the path a bit but I'll make the trek cause this is so delicious. And I make it a point to eat at hit chicken locations. Give it a try !! OVERPRICED for what I got, & I have no problem paying this price if it was good. I've given this place multiple opportunities from when they first started to now & yet still not impressed. hopefully they learn from this post. - 1) the chicken needs to stop being so over cooked. (Overcooked chicken gets very dry and chewy) - 2) stop false advertising your spice levels (got the Gordo killer) and truthfully, my Mexican style cornnuts that I had were spicier. The sweetness from your sauce, coleslaw and pickles overpower your spice dramatically, - 3) you're over cooking your pasta for your Mac & cheese which gives a "mash potatoes" texture I'm giving them a 2 star for the lack of cooking skills & presentation. Your portions are not ideal especially when it comes to your "sandwich combo" your Hawaiian bread gets too soggy, too quick with everything cramped in like that. Overall Flavors are good, expect for your Mac and cheese, you're doing too much with the seasoning, keep more simple & I promise it'll be better. read more

If I could give this place a 10 gold star rating I would! First of all I called in my order and the cashier was very helpful in guiding me trough the menu. I saw one of their reels pop up on instagram and I got happy to see that they're Ventura county locals! The cashier, Christian recommended the Gordo fries along with the Sandwich combo. The Gordo fries got me hooked, they were so delicious that I decided to go back the next day! It was a bed of fries, a layer of their extremely savory Mac n cheese, chopped tenders to your spice preference, a couple of pickles and their uniquely interesting pineapple coleslaw and which made the plate complete for me!!! The chicken is crispy, juicy, a bit spicy (I ordered their hot spice level) but everything compliments each other because of their house made GORDO SAUCE! The sauce is unique and the best part is that it's free no .25 cent gimmicks here it's FREE! No matter if it's 2 or 10 sauces! I got my wife the sandwich combo and she strictly told me that I could not eat her leftovers which is why we were back the next day. They use toasted Hawaiian sweet rolls for their sandwiches and everything is delicious. I'm excited to try the rest of the menu. It makes me wonder if some of the bad reviews are a bit malicious, since both times that I've gone the customer service has been the best, and it doesn't seem fake or pushed upon either. The guys are genuine, Christian the cashier makes sure you're taken well taken care of and makes sure your order is correct by repeating it to you, he even remembered and mentioned "you're back!" Eddie gave me my order the first time but the second time it was a guy named Luis, they were both very nice, they checked my ticket to make sure it's correct, and asked if I needed any extra sauce, honey or ranch even though I had already ordered extra sauce, it was just nice to have the offer unlike other places that just push the order to you and don't say bye. Highly recommend this place, I'm a fan! It's unique in Ventura County and it's cool to see that they give back to our neighborhoods, and don't be scared to pull up to their location. The place is well lit with their outdoor lights and they play music too. The wait time according to other customers that we're waiting is usually no more than 15 minutes if you're a walk up however they accept phone orders and they'll have it fresh and ready by the time you show up. read more

I literally live 4 mins away from this place. As soon as I got my order I went straight home to eat, and the chicken was cold and soggy. I was confused because I waited a while to get my food so I thought that the food was going to be freshly made and hot, but it tasted like it's been sitting there for a while. I was disappointed. Amazing Service! Food was prefect in every way. For starters me and my boyfriend were on the hunt for something to eat we got told at Pizzaman Dans if we wanted food, we had to sit at the bar which was disappointing. However, even though Gordos was closing for the day an employee approached my boyfriend and I and asked if we wanted anything he could try to help us out with what he had available. So of course, we took the opportunity to try something new and we were hungry, so I ordered the sandwich and fries, they had run out of a couple of things but they made up for it with giving us a couple of tenders which were amazing I usually wouldn't have tried a spicy tender but after trying it, I'm ready to come back to try other spice levels they have. Overall they had amazing customer service and went above and beyond for us. My boyfriend says he gives mad respect to the employees. We will be back for sure. One of my favorite chicken spots and have been supporting since the beginning ordering food out of the garage! My only complaint is that sometimes the food is a little inconsistent and they are stingy with the sauces. Even despite paying extra sauces on the side they don't even fill the sauce cup all the way making it a single dip at most. But I will continue coming here the service is always great! read more

Food was good I got the hot chicken sandwich. Was spicy but not too spicy. My girl got the chicken tenders and the Mac and cheese. The tenders were decent but the Mac and cheese was not great. Very watery like you makes it in the pot with imitation Kraft. Haven't been back since but might give it a try again in the future. read more

By far, my favorite hot chicken spot. I've tried hot chicken spots throughout LA, the IE, NorCal, and this is (in my opinion) the best. Most hot chicken places have a very plain Mac and cheese with a watery cheese sauce. This mac is very flavorful, a little spicy, and has a thicker much richer sauce all around. I can't say it would stand on its own or compete with a standard baked Mac and cheese-- but great for a place that specializes in chicken and marries really well with the food. The chicken is great, very flavorful and spicy. I get mild and can feel and taste the spice. I think whoever wrote below had a bad experience but hasn't been mine so far. Very crispy. Great flavor. I love the sauce. Most restaurants all seem to have very similar sauces which are often very spicy or, on the other end, very bland. I like that this sauce has some sweetness to it. I don't like sweet food usually but this pairs really well with the spice of the chicken and the creamy mac. Perfect balance along with the Hawaiian rolls. I can't speak to the slaw bc I'm not a fan of slaw generally but I didn't mind it on my sandwich. Fries are good, crispy and not too salty Customer service is good. Orders are taken quickly and accurately. So far I've gotten pretty fast service. I don't post too many reviews but this place definitely deserved a positive one read more

These guys must be working to improve, because I had a great experience at the Camarillo food truck event on 7/28/22. Fast service, the girl behind the register was friendly, helpful and efficient. And NOT dishonest. I'm guessing she was just flustered and overwhelmed by the crowds at the June food truck event, I heard it was crazy busy. I got the 2-tender combo with fries and mac & cheese, and it was super flavorful and so much food I couldn't finish it. The only feedback I'd give is that the fries could be crispier, they were a bit soggy. But the chicken was on point, I could tell it wasn't cooked until I ordered it. And service was still fast. Nice spice on the chicken, really good sauce. MUCH BETTER THAN DAVE'S! The dipping sauce was delicious as well. I'd never even heard of Gordo's before, and I'm glad I gave them a try. First off I need to make something clear. The bad reviews are all hella suspect. I almost feel like there's a hit job going on to take down Gordo's . And my thinking is that it's coming from fan boys and meat riders of another hot chicken spot. I've tried all the hot chicken spots in oxnard and this one by far has the best hot chicken and french fries. Not only that , the service was good and prompt. I got the 3 tenders combo with their regular spice level which was perfect. The tenders themselves were quality meat , no fat or hard chewy bits. The fries were hot , perfectly seasoned and fresh. My wife ate the mac n cheese and she loved it. The mac is their own style and a bit different from the usual. Like I said I don't understand the hate in all the reviews. Everything was hot and fresh unlike other hot chicken places in town that you would think would be smokin hot n fresh. Gordo's made me feel comfortable and at home , like chilling out with family. Some of these other places are all flash and fake hype with lame gimmicks , cold food and stank attitudes like they think they are to cool.
