Sushi was fresh and tasty and was $8.95 which for the area is a deal. I see why while I was sitting in eating their delivery pick up was super busy with people constantly coming in to pick up orders. The location is small so not good for big parties. They play good music for a sushi bar. They have chopsticks in a jar readily at all tables which is different. Normally when you're at sushi restaurants they give you throw away chop sticks and hopefully they do the same with these and they're not reusing them. Service was Ok. Once I received my food, no one came back to check on me to see if I needed anything else before finishing so I deducted a star for this. I would come back for the sushi though. read more

Almost all items listed on the menu ranging from Nigiri to Maki rolls was under $4. The ordering process was easy as I just rattled of all my favorite rolls and the waiter would just bring them to you on a nicely decorated long dish. The food was delicious and a great value. We got an assortment of rolls bc they sell 4-6 pieces for $4-8 which is a bargain in Chicago. I like that it allows you to try different rolls. The basic rolls were standard, worth it for the price. Specialty rolls were pretty good. Nothing to rave about necessary but solid and especially for the price point. I also got the salad and my husband got some apps but they did forget his fried shrimp, which we were charged for. We tried to call and no one answered the phone... we just let it go. The rolls I had were: Spicy Salmon 4/5 good, pretty straight forward California with eel 5/5 tasty! Just ordered UberEats pickup from here last night and was very satisfied. The Gorilla Sushi chain is all about cheap quick sushi, so you can't expect the fanciest finest cuts of fish. But for the price the portions were good, the fish was reasonably fresh, and everything was pretty tasty. I got a yellowtail scallion roll, spicy scallop roll, salmon avocado roll, volcano roll (spicy tuna topped with a torched spicy scallop mayo mixture), and red milennium roll (california roll topped with seared tuna and unagi sauce). The basic rolls came with 6 pieces each, and the spicy scallop wasn't too drenched in sauce like some cheap places often do. The salmon avocado was tasty as well, although the restaurant mistakenly but tempura crisps and spicy mayo on mine as if it were a spicy salmon roll. The volcano roll had a bit more mayo/cream cheese and a bit less scallop top than I expected, but the combination was still really rich and tasty. The red milennium roll was light and also had just the right amount of unagi sauce to not overpower everything. While it's definitely not anywhere near on omakase or fine dining sushi joint, I was more than happy with the quality and amount of food I got for the price. If I lived a bit closer I would definitely put this place on my go-to list for whenever I need to satisfy a sudden craving for sushi! read more

Maybe I got lucky, but those are two huge pros. The sushi itself was pretty average. I've developed more of a snooty standard for sushi and this stuff isn't the best, but not the worst.
