One of my favorite coffee shops in STL! This one is close to work so I pop in frequently. The staff is so friendly and I love that they make their own syrups. They always have the best seasonal menus too and I love the ambiance. It's perfect for catching up with friends or getting some work done. I love the cozy vibes and it's one of those places where you can go by yourself and not feel alone. First time coming to this location (but I've tried Goshen before). The matcha lemonade on their spring menu was super refreshing, well-balanced, and not overly sweet. It's one of those drinks that feels perfect on a warm day. I also tried the avocado toast which was decent but didn't quite stand out. It was fresh and nicely presented but not too memorable. The space itself has a great vibe, nice place to sit and hang out for a bit. The cafe hours are also good, it's hard to find one that doesn't close at 2PM. The drinks really deliver and while the food could be a bit stronger, it's still a spot I'd come back to. read more

I was altogether unfamiliar with this place, but apparently they make their own coffee and they have a few locations, mostly in Illinois. Do they have school-age children harvesting their beans down in Colombia, chewing coca leaves for the emotional fortitude, or are they just purchasing beans wholesale from Costco and slapping their own label on it, like most of the products at the nearby Soulard Farmers Market? I wouldn't judge them for either of those things, because that's not what I'm about. Let he who is without sin cast the first stone. It occurred to me, standing in line, that ordering a Bananas Foster Latte was maybe not the best way to judge or experience this place's coffee, but how was I supposed to pass up such an item, which was available as part of their seasonal menu? I'd order a colonic, if it came in Bananas Foster. Also, who are we kidding? I couldn't tell one brand of coffee from another just based on taste. I can only tell if it's Starbucks if it's burnt-tasting, but even then it could just be Folgers that's been sitting around for a while, waiting to heat up so it can be thrown in Craig Mack's face. I toyed around with the idea of getting a pastry, of which there were several intriguing options on the seasonal menu, but I opted for the burrito instead, due to the novelty and the fact that you could smell them while you stood there in line. I had to have one. I could have gotten both, but then I wouldn't have been able to make rent and I would have had to go live under an overpass along the River Des Peres Greenway near Carondelet Park--and I don't trust some of the people I see over there. For some reason, they were out of the Goshen Burrito but they still had the Founders Burrito, which has all the same ingredients. I took this to mean that they're pre-assembled and possibly defrosted, as is the case with the tacos at Jack in the Box. Regardless, like the tacos at Jack in the Box, the Founders Burrito is damn tasty. Because it's grilled, and it's filled with melted cheese, it's more along the lines of a quesadilla. It's not very big, for the price, but it does come with sour cream, Cholula and salsa verde on the side. which was mighty generous of them. I'm sure the Cholula alone will run you. If I worked there, I'd pilfer a few daily to keep in my pantry. In retrospect, it may not have been the best idea in the world to pair my burrito with a banana-flavored iced latte, made with whole milk. But otherwise it was an excellent selection. The banana flavor really hits you, on your first sip, but then after that there's a real subtlety to it. It's not overly sweet, nor is there an especially strong coffee flavor. I drank the whole thing down in a few gulps, as if I were Andre the Giant pounding beers on the set of the Princess Bride. In part this was because I'd just gone on a run, but also it was that good. Honestly, one of the best coffee places in downtown St. Louis. The inside is really cute and I think they even have an extra section to go sit. I didn't go there, but I saw people coming from upstairs. I got one of their seasonal beverages, and it was made to perfection. Would say because a lot of the stuff is made craft, give it some time. My barista's were all friendly. They communicated well with each other and the overall inside was just really welcoming. Went here for the first time a few weeks ago and it was fabulous! I went on an early morning and it was pretty quiet. The staff were so nice and the coffee was great! I really liked the food options, all the toasts and burritos sounded great. I went with a friend and tried the tomato toast and the Black Dog burrito. Both were sooo delicious. This cozy little coffee shop in a charming old building was a great way to spend an hour out of the afternoon downpour. The seating was comfortable and the coffee delicious. I had an iced coconut milk latte that was a bit too sweet, but that was mostly because it was my first time there and I wasn't familiar with their standards. The counter staff was friendly and helpful, and spent some tume talking with me about the various whole bean coffees they stock. There are some single origins that looked interesting, so I picked one out (Sumatra, which tends to have lower acidity). Goshen Coffee in Soulard was the perfect way to start my 4th of July--calm, caffeinated, and filled with good conversation. A friend from STL Ladies Brunch Group invited me to try it, and now I totally see why it's one of her favorites. We sat on the shaded patio for hours, catching up while birds literally stopped by our table like they had something to say. Add in the nearby church bells and it was basically a Hallmark summer morning. I ordered the Kickin' Goat Cheese Whip Toast--creamy, spicy, and surprisingly satisfying--and the Cherry Ginger Espresso Tonic, which was sparkling, refreshing, and honestly just fun to drink. 10/10 for flavor and creativity. Inside is cozy and cute, with an aesthetic that says "chill here or buy a tote bag--you'll be happy either way." Staff was lovely, the vibe was relaxed, and I'll definitely be back. During our latest visit to St.Louis, we started multiple mornings at this cozy and wonderful neighborhood coffee shop. Our kids plowed through their overnight oats and breakfast burritos like they were going out of style. They also have fabulous baked goods- I can't speak highly enough of the apple cider scone that we enjoyed from their fall menu. Speaking of the fall menu, their fall spice (exact name may be off) started off two of my mornings on the best possible foot. If I were local, I'd work my way through the rest of the fall menu. We picked up some beans for the road to keep our Goshen party rolling back in Indy. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Their space features indoor seating along with a lush courtyard in the back featuring tables, chairs and umbrellas. Lovely spot- highly recommend. read more

OMG everything here is DELICIOUS! I had the goat whip toast and it amazing, the flavor of the goat cheese, cucumbers, carrots and balsamic drizzle was so well balanced! It was such a light refreshing snack, I could eat 10 more. I also had the shortbread chocolate chip cookie and wow. It is a must try!! They had so many great vegetarian option, I loved this place. I also go a dirty chai and it had some a great spice flavor, not too strong. They had some great seating areas, upstairs and outside. It is a very cute little place. Goshen has been on my hit list for coffee shops for ages. I finally broke down and made it out on a rainy sunday morning. Let me inform you: if you have been wanting to go to Goshen(like me) but have been procrastinating(like me) let this be your sign to drop everything and run there. I went right when they opened and the manager and barista were--presumably-- caffeinated and greeted me with exuberance. It's a fun little spot. The interior is quaint and cute. Quiet and slow moving. Perfect for a coffee date, catching up with old friends, or getting some studying done. The coffee was wonderful. I went with my go-to: an iced almond milk latte. It was really solid. As i peruse more coffee shops, my palate becomes more refined I am beginning to discover good from bad coffee. Simply put: Goshen is good coffee(really good). I was so happy to find this coffee shop so close to my Airbnb when I stayed in St. Louis! I actually went 2 days in a row because I liked it so much! It was so cute and had 2 levels for seating, as well as an outdoor patio area. The staff were polite and welcoming. I tried some of their seasonal items on my first visit (but forgot to take pictures): carrot cake latte and a carrot cake scone. Both were incredible! I also got their lemon blueberry scone and goat cheese, onion, and garlic scone. Also incredible! I got a vanilla latte (pictured) which was delicious. Loved this spot immediately! The awning could be way to miss and unassuming but when you walk in, you realize the spot is bright, happy and fairly big. Seating is on the main floor, upstairs and on the patio. They love their neighborhood dogs and display their pics. My London Fog tea latte was delicious! I'm not sure I've had a better one. My lemon blueberry scone was amazing too, almost light for a scone and not overcooked. We indulged in muffins and goat toast as well. Goshen was such a vibe! I stopped in with a friend for the first time and love love loved it! The space is homey, well-decorated, and had plenty of space (upstairs) to study or hang out. Full disclosure: I was already a Goshen fan. I'm a latte queen, I don't really love black coffee, but if I'm going to drink black coffee, it's going to be Goshen. I'm not sure what kind of witchcraft it is, but it's the most flavorful, delicious coffee bean I have ever had the pleasure of drinking. So I already came into their brick and mortar biased. We loved this location when the previous business was here, so we were already familiar with the layout. Goshen made it better and the layout more friendly for workers and patrons. They did a fantastic job with the space, and we love that they kept the character of the outdoor patio! A sweet little secret garden in the middle of Soulard. They had some awesome latte options and I loved their unique seasonal options. I knew I loved their coffee so it was no surprise that their lattes were fantastic. If I worked from home, I would probably be in here every day. Such a great spot and great coffee, a great addition to the Soulard neighborhood. read more

Goshen is my new favorite coffee shop in the city! I recommend ordering ahead of time if you don't plan to eat/drink there. The lattes are great, and their food is surprisingly good too! I've had the caramel and vanilla iced lattes, the burritos, and the toast special which was roasted tomatoes, on toast with an avocado spread topped with salt, olive oil, and a balsamic glaze. That was AMAZING and needs to be on the menu just like that full time. The service is great, but they do sometimes get bogged down by the rush. Please only visit if you can be patient :) The atmosphere is one of my favorite parts too! After hearing so many great things about this place, I finally decided to check it out! I had such a memorable experience, and I totally see why everyone loves it! My boyfriend ordered one of their seasonal iced latte flavors, and I order an iced lavender latte with almond milk. This is definitely one of my new favorite iced lavender lattes! After taking a glance at their menu, I realized that I definitely want to come back and try some of their food items next time. Everything looked and sounded delicious! All of the employees were super friendly, especially the employee who took our order. She was very enthusiastic and went above and beyond to make our experience even more enjoyable. I found out about this place from an article on places serving holiday coffee drinks. I'm always on the lookout for places that have any gingerbread based lattes. This place has a drink called "Everything but the gumdrop buttons," which has gingerbread syrup in it. It's not your usual GBL, and the best way I would describe it is Christmas in a cup. Cute setup in Soulard - apparently they've been open for a little less than a year. Friendly staff.
