There's not a lot in Goshen. Trees, sure, bears, a fairgrounds empty most of the year, and two restaurants (one which is only open for brunch). Then came Goshen Pizza. They're central, they have a good menu, and they deliver. It's like having a piece of the real world. The fact the food is very good certainly doesn't hurt either, and helps them stand apart. I have yet to have something I didn't enjoy - although I am partial to the bacon, ranch, and chicken pizza. The serving sizes are generous, and the prices are fair. They're my #1 recommendation to anyone who comes to Goshen to eat.

Stopped in after a day skiing on Mohawk and this really hit the spot! Great appetizers and a fantastic couple of pizzas - we got the meat lovers and a double pepperoni. Perfectly prepared and delicious. We'll be back!

Large Pizza: eggplant, artichoke, and garlic

Just opened in the same plaza as the Goshenette. Pizza is pretty neutral in flavor. Cheese pulls nicely as opposed to the really horrible processed kind. The eggplant is lightly breaded and cut longitudinal. It's not greasy and has a thin crust as we like. I think having it cooked a little longer or at a hotter temp would give a nice crunch to the bottom and a little more charred blisters on the top. That's obviously our preference as comparing it to New Haven pizza. Wings were "meh". Standard pre-made sauce that's all sugar and not much flavor. Held up pretty well as take out, so I'm sure dine-in would yield crispier wings. They should definitely "vent" the wing container though to cut down on the condensation. Grinder looked hearty. They didn't skimp on anything here. It's a typical crispy chicken grinder which I was looking for to bring to work tomorrow (haven't eaten it so no comment on the flavor).I know it will taste delicious tomorrow and hit the spot. Overall, the pizza is not bad. We are pretty critical about food so please take this review as our personal opinion and you should try it for yourself. They have just opened so I'm sure they are working out some kinks and perhaps my review may change. I have my favorite Pizza place in this area and this place is definitely #2 in my books. BTW, we are local people who live in this community and have lived here for over 20 years, if you know what I'm getting at...

Cute little spot in the heart of Goshen, just past the rotary. Would be a great place to grab a quick bite when visiting the local animal attractions in the warmer months. The garlic knots were fresh and flavorful. Our cheese pizza was thin and yummy. Not the biggest fan of this type of sausage but otherwise it hit the spot and kept everyone happy.

    Hero on a diet.

Took a solid ten minutes to get noticed, but no real waitstaff. Bartender was running all over, back and forth, serving tables and tending the bar. Felt really bad for her. But then long periods of nothing happening. Took about 20 minutes to get our burgers. Food was served, but no silverware on the table, had to get up and ask for them at the bar. The food: not sure I love the herbs on the fries. It said truffle fries but I didn't get any truffle flavor whatsoever. Burger was a little too well done for a medium, but the quality of the meat was good. The burger bun on top felt cold, while the insides were toasty. That was odd. Bacon felt like it was prepped much earlier in the day, so it was more like beef jerky, and didn't have a soft freshly cooked texture. Overall, good experience, but I was hoping that this was the "IT" burger place for me, when I get the hankering for a burger. My buddy had a Salmon burger. He said it was excellent, but also complained the "truffle fries' were not truffle fries at all. Next time I will try something different. I really like the vibe here and the doors being open wide gave it a very NYC/Brooklyn small neighborhood vibe.

I'm pretty divided with this review. First I'll start with the highs: when you eat-in the food and…read morethe service is great! Between the many things to look at (including the giant fish tank) there's always something to talk about. The food was good, we both ordered tacos. They were fresh, tasty and beautifully made- it makes you wish there was 3rd taco! The fried green beans with wasabi sauce was delicious as well, and something you never see on a menu. With all of that said, there were a couple of things that threw me off. First off being that you can see right into the men's bathroom if you're looking through the fish tank. Granted it's only the hand wash area but definitely a little odd. My husband was actually able to wave at me through it. I noticed they put a tapestry up for the woman's restroom so you couldn't see through the other tank they have, so it's weird they wouldn't do the same for the men's. But mostly what was disappointing was we had gone back the next weekend for takeout, we ordered the same exact tacos and upon receiving them they weren't the same as what was ordered. Ingredients and toppings were missing and stuff was added that wasn't on the menu. I will say the pizza was great though! But we came back for the tacos and they fell very short. I'm sure we will be back, but takeout won't be an option for us unfortunately.

I love all the wood too. It did take some time to get waters and menus, but the staff was very nice about the wait. I got a cheese pizza and it was so good! I love a good bubble and there were a few on the crust of the pizza. So good! One of the coolest things was the to go pizza box comes inside out. EXPERIENCE; What did come as a surprise to me was the popularity of this rural tavern on a fall Friday evening and the quality of food and service experienced. Jason P. had reported excellent fish and chips, noteworthy wings, and selection of local beers at the tavern in his review. I ordered the fish and chips alongside the server's suggested Norbrook Farm-brewed Mount Pisgah IPA. The fish and chips dish ($20) was as Jason had described -- "TOP TIER". I look forward to exploring the menu further (although it will be hard to pull me away from the fish and chips). Kudos to the tavern's Head Chef Austin Ouelette and his crew! AMBIANCE: There are three dining areas -- an outdoor patio, a newly renovated, modern dining room, and the original dining room filled with colonial-inspired furniture. TIP: Parking lot size was insufficient the Friday evening I visited, necessitating parking on the shoulder of State Route 20 . This possibility may be circumvented via a visit on an earlier weekday. With that said, seating is fairly limited on a busy Friday/Saturday night or if they are having a special for dinner, so definitely make reservations! We live around the area kept saying to ourselves throughout the night "why haven't we been here before? We've been missing out on such good food" There seems to be a lot of seating both inside and outside so that's a plus since we were able to get seated right away without a reservation on a Friday night. (they were already pretty busy) Our waitress was so friendly and super attentive even with all the tables she had. Now on to the food! Everything was cooked to perfection and beautifully plated. You could tell that whoever is cooking genuinely cares about the food that is coming out of that kitchen. To start we ordered the Spinach Artichoke Dip w/ Garlic Parm Crostini and the Antipasto Salad. (Not pictured) Everything came out in great portions to share and even the crostinis were packed full of flavor which brought the dip up another notch. The salad was fresh, colorful and absolutely delicious. For our entree we both ordered the Steak Frites-cooked medium. Both of our steaks were cooked to perfection and the chimichurri was herby, savory and even had a little bite to it-it was phenomenal. To add to the mix the frites had parm & garlic to make them even tastier To finish, after a very long day- we knew that an affogato would just finish this meal off perfectly and we were right. It was delicious and the candied walnuts were such a nice touch to add for texture. (My husband now has a new favorite dessert) Needless to say we will absolutely be back, and more than likely bringing many others in tow to share an absolutely wonderful meal!

My limited interactions with the staff were all good. I tried a couple slices before I drove the rest of the pizza home to share with my family. Loved the thin crust. Good crisp, but still good chewy too. Some char. The toppings were good. They smartly packed the arugula on the side without me even asking.
