These might be my favorite pierogies in all of Pittsburgh which is saying something. I regularly look for them at farmers markets, and have recently noticed they are also for sale through online delivery service Market Wagon. At their stand, you can get your pierogies already prepared to eat on the spot. Potato and cheese, the most popular pierogi, is usually what is available here. It's $7 for four and $9 for six. They have a much larger number of varieties that you can get for take home. Those are frozen and include options like sweet potato or cottage cheese and chives, to name a couple of my favorites. If you see a line, don't worry because these are efficient professionals who will move you through quickly. You may be used to boiling your pierogies and then sautéing them. These are best defrosted, no boiling and sautéing with butter and onions. Quick and simple preparation and they are so delicious. read more

Absolutely beyond fantastic. I have been eating pierogies for 65 years and I still can't believe how good they taste!

I want to try more of their flavors but the classics were not the best I've had, and just decent. I tried the potato pierogies. I found them at the Giant Eagle in Fox Chapel, and decided to try them out. It's possible that the food stand version in better. But, these were just okay. The dough was adequately thick, bordering on a bit too much. The potato on the inside didn't have a very creamy texture or flavor like some other places offer. Instead, it was dry. Flavor-wise, I wasn't too impressed. It did the trick and is certainly much better than frozen pierogies, but it doesn't compare to the many other pierogies I've had. There is an onion aftertaste when I eat these as well. All in all, these could be good depending on your preference, and I'm sure the food stand is much better than the Giant Eagle frozen version. But, I just wasn't too wowed by these. Next time, I will try a flavor like cottage cheese since it's a bit more unique. read more

The pierogies have great flavor with homemade dough and the filling is just as good. My favorite pierogie is filled with potato and cheddar. Hands down the best pierogies you will ever eat, unless you're a Polish grandma and make your own. Seriously, these are authentic and the real deal. I've been eating these since their first appearance at the Ligonier Country Market 20 years ago. So happy for their success in launching their new facility on June 22nd to give more people the chance to experience these delicious comfort foods. My favorite is the standard cheese and potato filled pierogies, but I also have tried the feta, the cottage cheese, the jalapeño and the sauerkraut varieties. All were really good. Besides local farmers markets, you can find them online and order them directly to be shipped to your door, or if you are local, pick them up at the factory. At markets, you can take home frozen packages for later or eat them hot off the skillet with onions and butter as you stroll the other vendor's. Be sure to try these. Once you do, you'll be a customer for life like I am. read more

My Granddaughter and I attended the Pierogi Festival at Kennywood, this past weekend. She and I both loved Gosia's Pierogis. Gosia's booth was by far the best price and best tasting. The potato and cheese pierogi tasted exactly as a homemade Pierogi should taste .. delicious. I can't make them as well as some of my older family members can, but I love to eat them with fried onions. Great Festival! I will look for Gosia's again. read more

Stopped by to get some Pierogies for lunch from the farmers market! They were good, typical Pierogies. I love that they finish them with grilled onions! The workers are really friendly, and the prices are reasonable at $5 for 6, as well as other options. You do have to pay an extra $1 for a little tube of sour cream, certainly not the end of the world though. The Pierogies did feel a bit heavy and didn't sit great in my stomach, but also it's potato's in a fried shell, what did I expect? Definitely a cool find. read more

While waiting to get our lunch, we watched the owner/operator argue with a customer (who sadly was not arguing back, it would have been a great show). She then continued to toss verbal jabs at this couple when they passed later on while we ate. I'm not sure what the conflict was, but the manner in which the owner acted will prevent us from stopping here. Should we have a comment or negative issue to address with her... would we be next on the shout-fest? The pierogies were fair. Not bad, but nothing to write home about. With a Ukrainian grandmother and Polish slew of folks in my family, perhaps I'm spoiled... but we've had better fare from the local church. Maybe it is because all of her pierogies are frozen; who knows who/when/how they were made. Won't be going back, but will sit in the nearby seating next time to see who the next "victim" is. read more

First, the pierogies are excellent. I prefer them to Pierogies Plus for sure. The feta cheese ones are amazing. Second, I've only had great experiences with the staff both here and at the Farmer's Market in Market Square booth. The owner is a friendly guy. When I saw that he was signing with his worker, I decided to pratice my ASL. I must have done an okay job because the owner insisted upon giving me an extra dozen pierogies for free. In case you don't sign, the owner seemed to read lips just fine and his worker was hearing. P.S. I'm not sure what Ryan D is talking about (not saying it didn't happen), but like I said, the owner is a man and he speaks with his hands. read more

We loved the pierogi's at the PGH festival!! And the fact that they communicate via ASL was the greatest treat for our lil 7-yr old that just got her cochlear implants! Truly made our visit! read more
