Wildlife technician David came to our house and performed an assessment to determine possible entry points that needed to be repaired. I completed assessments with multiple companies and decided on Critter Control because David was so kind, knowledgeable, and incredibly thorough with his work (kudos to you David!) He was happy to answer all my questions and it really put me and my family at ease. His assessment report was so detailed and we were quoted such a great price compared to other companies. Their process is straight forward, they are transparent with their costs and don't try to push additional services that you don't need. We finished our repairs a couple of weeks ago and we went from hearing movement in the attic every single day to pure silence. As someone with a severe phobia of rodents, thank you David and the front office team for your help! I can finally sleep peacefully at night. P.S. I hope we never have pest issues again but if we do, we 100% will be using Critter Control

I couldn't make the appointment, but they came the next day and evaluated the area, noting where the raccoons were likely coming from. They set up a trap in the most affected area. We caught a poor local cat the first time and they released it. Then caught three raccoons. They're responsive, professional, and do a great job. Highly recommended! PSA: don't mess around with raccoons. I'm a biologist and discovered that a lot of raccoons in the area have a parasitic roundworm. Eggs can live in the soil for two years. Resistant to bleach, ethanol, cleaners, etc. Almost the only way to kill the eggs is to heat them to 143ºF/63ºC. A weed torch (being careful around any flammable structures) or boiling water can be helpful.

One day, there was an extremely loud noise coming from the water heater closet. When we checked, we found that the insulation board covering the attic access above the water heater had been broken through. The instruction manual attached to the water heater had been chewed into pieces, with shredded paper scattered all over the floor. It looked pretty alarming, so we immediately called Rodent Control Inc. When they arrived, they told us the damage had been caused by rats. They explained that there are two types of rats--small rats and large rats. After spending quite a bit of time inspecting the attic and taking several photos, they told us there was a large amount of rat droppings and rated the infestation as a 9 out of 10 in severity. They said it needed immediate attention. Their proposed solution was to seal all possible entry points around the crawl space and roof, remove the contaminated insulation, disinfect the attic, and charge us more than $5,700. Replacing the insulation would cost even more. The next day, we contacted another company, Ratting on Rodents, for a second opinion. They told us that the type of damage we described was much more consistent with squirrels than rats. Sure enough, they found a dying squirrel in the corner of the water heater closet and removed it. They then inspected the roof and discovered that the metal chimney cap had fallen off. They explained that the squirrel had most likely entered through the chimney. That same day, they replaced the chimney cap, sealed the opening above the water heater closet, and repaired six damaged crawl space vents around the exterior of the house. They also noted that the droppings in the attic did not appear to be fresh, but set traps in both the attic and the crawl space as a precaution. They returned one to two weeks later to inspect the traps and also provided a one-year warranty, promising to come back if any rodent issues reappeared. The total cost for everything was only $1,150. I have never heard anything since then. The problem is gone! Based on my experience, Rodent Control Inc. seems to excel at sales and customer service, but they were unable to accurately identify the root cause or recommend the appropriate solution. I would strongly encourage homeowners to get a second opinion before committing to an expensive proposal. In our case, another company solved the actual problem for about one-fifth of the cost. Good service is important, but accurate diagnosis and effective solutions are what ultimately matter.

We call Creature Catchers (CC) as we'd used them in the past to catch a 35pound raccoon in our backyard! CC is a family owned business- husband-wife team, Andy and Sandra. Andy came out and did a complete attic check. He found a raccoon mother & baby(s) had made their home in our attic. Instead of setting up traps, he chose to do an "eviction," which means he banged around with a stick to disrupt/scare the mother (he couldnt actually reach them due to home insulation etc.). That night the mom and babies left!! I HEARD them go:))) No Harm- all good:))! Andy later re-did our vent screens to make sure no more entry points were available. CC KNOWS what they are doing. They are humane, professional, and very communictive. We're honestly telling you- don't search around for another company. It turned out to be a small pocket gopher who was half the size of a normal gopher. Her price for all the time she spent trying to capture my elusive gopher was more than reasonable. He set up two traps-first night we caught a skunk. Second night he re baited the trap with marshmallows and that did the trick. We caught another skunk and then the raccoon with the second trap.
