Both boys eagerly awaiting food (another great photo from Deb)

I used Gotham City Cat Care to care for two sets of cats when I lived in NYC. Karin was wonderful to deal with both times! Deb was an absolutely amazing sitter for our two kittens. That they enjoyed their time with her was apparent from the wonderful photos, videos, and narratives she shared! We trusted her with our boys completely, and were very sad that we couldn't take her with us when we moved!

Professional and caring cat sitting service. Gotham provides a great sense of relief knowing our cats are well taken care of. The great service starts with a pre-visit to ensure the Gotham staff understand every detail of your cat's needs...from feeding, favorite toys, treats, quirks, etc. We have had Deb for most visits and she is loving and patient and our two cats love her. She sends daily updates with great photos and videos.

We found Karin through our friend who runs Ready for Rescue, the organization through which we fostered/adopted our cat. She responded quickly and set us up with sitter Brian, who has been wonderful. We've used him twice already and have scheduled him to visit on two more upcoming trips. Our cat is pretty emotionally needy (likes lots of snuggles, attention, and playtime), and Brian keeps him happy. He seems to spend more than the allotted 30 minutes with our cat and sends pictures with his daily updates. While I know our kitty is glad to have us home, he seems much happier with this arrangement than he was when we boarded him in the past. Also, it's nice to be able to pay via PayPal rather than hunting for my checkbook as with lots of other pet-sitting services.

Arlo, the doodle, needed a pretty close cut, but it still looked awesome. Arlo and Willa will be back soon.

THEY CUT A TINY CHUNK OF MY DOGS EAR OFF!…read more I got my dog home and noticed a tiny notch in his ear. I reached out immediately to them, and they let me know that they would investigate and get back to me. I was called back the same day to be told that what I saw on his ear was an old scab that fell off, that they should have let me know when they found it, and apologized that they didn't do that and offered me a free wash for the next time I came in. Also frustrated because I specifically said "i like to keep the little wisp of hair on his ears" basically don't touch the ears. I could literally see where the clippers left stroke marks right at the position of the injury, but I had no proof that it was a new wound until the next day. It happened to be raining pretty heavily, I walked my dog just for a quick pee and come back upstairs, and I noticed blood on the top of his head on the side of his face and realize that his ear is bleeding because the water re-opened the fresh wound they did. Of course I would not be OK with my dog getting hurt in anyway, but I think this situation would've been less infuriating if they took accountability for hurting my dog and not even mentioning it to me when I picked him up, and offering me a free bath as compensation, which I thought was strange if they had done nothing wrong. This place is already ridiculously expensive. They raised their prices and for the $125 that I spent I am extremely upset. I would also like to note: if you go through the photos you'll see quite a few other dogs get nicked or badly cut as well. I wish I looked more closely before. Sad because I've been going there for over a year and a half, I trusted them.

BEWARE!!!!! STAY FAR AWAY FROM TANIA AND CHRIS!!!…read more If I could give zero stars I would! Let me sum my experience up in three words: LIARS, CHEATS, & THIEVES. For months my doormen watched them walk my dogs for X amount of time and brought it to my attention through casual conversation. I told the doorman that they were supposed to be walked for Y amount of time! He assured me that this was not the case and that my dogs were not and that I was being takin advantage of!!! I always kept a log so they must sign in and sign out and leave brief description about the day. Routinely they logged in at the same time and check out at the same time for the X amount of time. I couldn't believe what i was hearing because they seem so nice to my face. So i then put into place a recon mission with my doormen. They began tracking times in and out for months. These times matched my buildings dog walker key log!! They were lying on my log by falsifying the time of day and also the length of the walk. They were paid for double the amount of time they were spending with my dogs! They were basically giving my poor dogs a relief walk when they should have been exercising the dogs for the amount being paid for! THIS WENT ON FOR MONTHS ! I DON'T KNOW HOW MICH LONGER IT WENT ON PREVIOUS TO MY RECON MISSION AND HOW LONG IT WOULD HAVE CONTINUED IF MY DOORMAN HADNT BROUGHT IT TO MY ATTENTION!!!!!!!! SO TO CONCLUDE THEY MAY SEEM NICE TO YOUR FACE BUT WHEN YOUR NOT HOME THEY CAN BE LIARS CHEATS AND THIEVES! BEWARE IF THEY WALK YOUR DOG THEY COULD BE NEGLECTING YOUR PETS AND TAKING ADVANTAGE OF YOU!! BEWARE!!!!!!

After I paid in full, I was contacted in a belittling and condescending tone no greeting, just "didn't I tell you." I decided not to board my bunny with her after that interaction. You would think I hadn't paid, based on how I was spoken to, but I had paid in full. Professionalism and basic customer service are the simplest things a business can offer, and they make all the difference in how clients feel. It's not always what you say, but how you say it. That's all. God bless. Adding on since she responded: I'm honestly shocked by this owners response. None of what she's claiming about me threatening her or mentioning ICE ever happened and the fact that she would post something so inflammatory publicly says a lot about her professionalism. I paid in full and simply expected clear communication and respect, which I did not receive. The moment I was spoken to in a condescending tone, I decided not to move forward and that's it. Anyone reading can see that I've kept my review factual and respectful. I have the messages, emails, and payment receipts to back up everything stated. I wish her well, but this is exactly why I chose not to entrust my pet to her care.

Unfortunately, because my dog has trauma from having had his dewclaws removed (I didn't do it to him - he's a rescue) he would not allow the groomer to clip his toenails. They asked us to come in and help but our dog was just so stressed out at that point that we couldn't touch his paws without him going into a panic. This is unfortunate because the main reason I was paying a groomer was to get help with clipping his claws. I just can't do it myself. I guess next time we can try giving him some anti-anxiety medication and see if that works. The groomer did take a little off the price because of not being able to cut his nails. I would recommend this groomer to anyone who has a well-behaved dog who is amenable to being groomed. I would not recommend them if you have an anxious or fearful dog. The haircut itself was really perfect and beautiful. I will probably try another groomer just because I need my dog's claws cut short, but if my dog was better behaved I would go back to this place because they give good haircuts.

According to their online description, they may charge extra for "aggressive breeds," and would provide an "assessment" to determine if they can help board them. Well I can tell you that an assessment is a straight up dog breed discrimination. Just mentioning that you would need to house your sweet, friendly pitties and they immediately drop you like a hot potato. No "assessment" provided whatsoever. Just mentioned that the dogs are pit bulls and was given an immediate no. Didn't even see or meet the dogs. Highly unprofessional and irresponsible. Why put up a note that they would seemingly provide service for all kinds of dogs when they clearly don't? Also a quick cursory scroll of the 5star reviews show that they skew towards smaller, "cute" dogs. Further evidence that they are falsely advertising their services. If you can only handle small dogs, please just make that clear so that nobody can waste their time here again. In conclusion: Parents of pitties beware of this place!! And other pet parents-- please make an effort to support pet daycares that will provide service to all dogs, especially if they have done nothing wrong, and have always been good dogs. Will be telling all my dog parents to stay away from this place. See also attached the goodest beans that are looking for quality daycare services that this place clearly does not provide.
