The dressing has a light peanut + ginger like taste and compliments the salad very well. Solid spot to grab a burger and salad. It's located in the shopping area of Walnut Creek, great downtown area. I love how there were ample outdoor seating for a nice Saturday that's also dog friendly! Our little fur baby was able to join us during the lunch. We got the jalapeno burger, Vietnamese salad, an a pint of Pliny (yes they have pliny!). Total came out to a little less than $50. Standard pricing across the bay area unfortunately. We got our food in 10 minutes around 430pm on a Saturday. Lines started building up by the time we left though! The burger had really good quality beef, but other than that, the burger tasted pretty standard. The Vietnamese salad came with pieces of fried chicken meat on top, I loved it! Even though it's not truly authentic Vietnamese flavors, I still loved the salad. Flavorful, light, and the fried chicken strips on top were wonderful. Wish I can eat this salad everyday! Not too happy with my Cobb salad. I asked for cheddar instead of blue cheese which I have done in many restaurants and I have never been charged for this change except at Gott's. I've been to Gott's a few times and I didn't realize I had pics from several years ago. I've been so horrible in following up with a review (after my snapshots), you're probably wondering, "Why is this dude, an Elitist? After my most recent visit (two weeks ago), I simply had to give positive feedback on their Seasonal Specials : the Cubano Sandwich and the Caramelized Pineapple Shake!!! The Cubano is described as: "Niman Ranch applewood smoked ham and house-roasted pork topped with pepperoncini, dill pickles, Swiss cheese, mayo & Sir Kensington's spicy brown mustard on a buttered roll pressed until golden brown. (14.99)" As you could see, it's a typical Cuban sandwich with the absence of any fusion gimmicks or sauces (though, I do recommend their hot sauce!). However, the Cubano really changed my perspective on Gott's. I'm not a pork dude (I prefer chicken and/beef), but something told me to give the Cubano another try here. And I'm glad I did! Gott's Cubano really captured the heart of what this Cuban sandwich is supposed to taste like. I highly recommend the Cubano for its luscious and flavorful, porky goodness. The quality of the crisp bread, fresh veggies and tender meats won me over. I've had my share of "bad" Cubanos which tasted a little "too simple". However, Gott's interpretation of the Cubano tasted as if they reinvented the wheel! The quality ingredients and temperature of my food made all the difference. When I first learned that the Caramelized Pineapple Shake was another special, I knew I had to pair this with my Cubano. You would think that this shake was a simple, sweet vanilla milkshake swirled in Torani Caramel and Dole Pineapple chunks...Wrong!!!! The Caramelized Pineapple Shake had a more complex combination of caramelized pineapple purée. I did value how their creamy shake incorporated the miniscule bits of ice, promoting a blend of cold, breathtaking sweetness with each sip. As for my other pics (in 2018), I don't know what to tell you. It's been so long, it would be unfair for me to discuss this in my review. All I know, is that I didn't have a noteworthy experience back then. Definitely try the Cubano and Caramelized Pineapple Shake. It may also change the way you look at Gott's. read more

Imagine a school cafeteria with all of the wee ones hopped up on hella sugar with noisemakers in their hands and ice water in their veins. And then bring it up a decibel. Now, you've achieved Gott's level audio. (-2 points) - The food can be inconsistent. Those fried avo tacos are delicious but I will never forget the day that Gott's served me tortillas so stale that I literally sliced the roof of my mouth. Y'all can do better. And if you want my lovin' and grubbin', you will. (-3 points) - Their wine selection ain't it. (-1 point) Try Gott's out and see what they've got to offer. I can't believe we have never been to Gott's until now! We have our usual dining establishments we frequent when in Walnut Creek but since one of our usuals was closed for the day, we decided to give Gott's a try. For those who have never been there before, allow me to enlighten you. As you enter, there is a large (and I do mean large) menu with all of the offerings displayed. You make your way to the counter to place your order and are given a buzzer which will alert you when your food is ready to pick up at a different counter. Easy and efficient! The style of the restaurant reminds me of a cafeteria in a way with lots of tables in a bare no frills environment. I must say I was very impressed with the menu as there really was something for everyone! Lots of burgers (beef, turkey, or vegetarian), sammies, salads, and even tacos! My husband ordered a double cheeseburger and I ordered the Impossible burger. We shared an order of fries, which was a wise move as the burgers were so filling! Our food was definitely made to order which I love, but the wait time was very reasonable. Everything was so yummy and well prepared. Prices are high and there is usually a wait during peak hours. $43 for two people with only one drink seemed like a lot for what we got but it would have been more if I had gotten the $18.99 calamari special or the $24.99 soft shell crab sandwich. Gotts is a staple for me so i was excited to go back. The large open space of the dining area (converted garage), ample selection of food, and casual style makes this a great place for hanging out with friends or family. I had the Kimchi burger with Garlic Fries. While i was at the restaurant for this visit, both the men's and women's bathrooms were out of commission for the entire hour i was there. This is crazy and kind of unacceptable. Furthermore, the filtered water tap was extremely slow and i would wait several minutes just to get water. Aside from that, let's get to the food. The cashier gives you a buzzer after you order; once it rings you go to the counter to grab your meal. It only took a few minutes for our order to come out. I thought the kimchi burger was great, though it could have done with sweeter kimchi, maybe a bit more of it as well. The gochujang mayo was also minimal so I couldn't taste it much. The taste of the beef patty and bacon was overpowering. The creamy egg in it is a great choice though. It's like an Americans first baby step into Asian food. I wouldn't get it again, my usual order is a Wisconsin burger, as it really plays to Gotts strengths. The garlic fries were underwhelming. The fries were green and bitter with excessive oil and parsley. I didn't get much garlic from them, more so an overwhelming amount of salt and grease. Skip these and go for the classic fries instead. Overall, a typical burger joint in an expensive area, overpriced is not a surprise. read more

Husband and I decided to try out Gott's after walking around downtown Walnut Creek. It's located a little off the side of the shopping area. It has plenty of both indoor and outdoor seating, which is great. Once you get here, you stand in line to order your meal then find yourself a table to sit at. You're given one of those buzzer things and then you go to the pick up area to get your food. It's pretty much self-serve I guess. The line moves super slow. We ordered a California Burger and a Kimchi Burger. The California burger (Fried egg, Cowgirl Creamery's Wagon Wheel cheese, Zoe's bacon, arugula, balsamic onions & mayo on a toasted sesame brioche bun.) was average. It tasted pretty Smokey too, so if that's not your thing I wouldn't get it. I would say that the Kimchi burger (Fried egg, kimchi, American cheese, Zoe's bacon & spicy gochujang mayo on a toasted egg bun.) was the standout, but that's probably because I love me some kimchi. All of the ingredients just worked so well together. The downside is the cost. Each burger was $16 and that doesn't even include the fries, which can range from $4 to $6. We spent $47 for just the two of us which is a lot for burgers and fries. Overall, I liked the kimchi burger, but I just can't justify the cost of eating here. read more

There was a line out the door to order, and I can see why. The line never died down, even after we left and walked around. Hours later, there was still a long line. It is all a positive sign that Gott's has good food! Menu is vast, they have options for gluten-sensitive peeps, pescatarians, vegetarians, and complete carnivores. Food tasted fresh, and it hit the spot! We all left stuffed and satisfied! Tables were clean, and I always saw employees walking around to pick things up and wipe tables. The ambience was friendly. It is a spacious room with an industrial, warehouse feel. The decor is modern. The biggest surprises: - There was a separate counter to get soft serve ice cream. - Customer Service was excellent! Even with a long line, the person who took our order was so friendly and took her time explaining how long she thinks our food will take, etc. And as we were heading out, someone else went out of their way to say goodbye. Gott's is probably a 4-star restaurant, I need to give it another try. So far, all I've had there is chicken (their autumn special sandwich and chicken tenders) and both things were just okay IMO. The tenders had more of a panko style breading, which isn't my favorite (I prefer more of a traditional batter). The chicken torta just had too much going on: the breaded chicken was very heavy, there were picked onions, some sort of slaw, I think an aioli, there bread was very thick.... It was just too much for my taste. I will say the French fries were EXCELLENT! 10/10 I highly recommend. I also didn't really like the soft serve ice cream. I will say I was pleasantly surprised with the menu; they have a wide variety of items, not just burgers. I'm not a seafood eater, but they have quite a few seafood options if that's your thing (tacos and sandwiches). I also really liked the restraint layout & décor; it felt huge! There's lots of outdoor seating. It's conveniently located in downtown Walnut Creek. Parking was easy. I've always enjoyed Gott's when I've at it at the SF Ferry building so I was looking forward to it when I happened to be in downtown Walnut Creek for lunch one day with my dad. The Walnut Creek location has a nice setup- feels very open with nice natural light. They've got a bar area too with some TVs so it could be a fun place to hang out on a game day! I think of burgers when I go to Gott's but they've got other stuff as well- salads, other sandwiches, tacos, etc, not to mention different kind fries/sides. This time I opted for a Wisconsin Burger. As usual it was nice and juicy- a little messy to eat but shouldn't a good burger be a little messy to eat? I also got a chocolate shake. The shakes are wonderful- hard to go wrong when using Straus Family Creamery for your ice cream! All in all, an enjoyable experience. A little pricey but you get what you pay for in terms of quality. We saw a Gott's in Napa but after being full off wine and charcuterie we decided to hit up Gott's on our way back. I'm a huge fan of pickled jalapeños so the Texas avocado burger subbed with an impossible patty hit the spot. I asked for a bunch of sauces on the side which I dipped my burger into all really delicious. My favorite sauces on the side also paired well with the crispy chicken tenders we got and garlic fries.
