Every time I'd drive by (or walk by) Gott's it looked packed; bustling with families, and folks having a bite. They have a well-designed and well-lit sign. The vibe is very welcoming and enticing. I finally gave it a try. It was very casual, with counter service, which was quite slow. It was a Wednesday evening, and the person taking orders was going back and forth towards the kitchen for some reason. I had the Cobb salad. As Cobb salads go, it was a very good one. Not too much dressing, just the right amount. The bowl was cardboard/disposable. I would've preferred an actual bowl, and silverware as opposed to plastic forks. I may have to go back and try more selections, because they had some interesting-looking options, such as a schnitzel sandwich. Also, I think they are more of a burger place. I overheard a kid telling his mom that the burger was amazing. They have a gourmet brand of ketchup, Sir Kensington's. Also, a wine bar and beer on tap. I didn't partake on this particular evening. All in all, it seems like basically a burger and sandwich place where you can grab a drink. I wasn't blown away, but I enjoyed the Cobb salad in the cardboard bowl. read more

I just realized today that the review I intended for Gott's in Napa back in September, I posted to the Walnut Creek location. Any who, here is my review of the Walnut Creek location. Saturday night around 6:30pm, we decided to grab dinner here. We passed by the restaurant in the afternoon and the place had a long line out the door. Dinner time, the line was equally as long. Seating: Tons of outdoor seating available. There are booths outside with heating lamps above the tables and counter top seating. Indoors, there is a lot of communal seating in the middle of the dining area. Similar to a high school cafeteria with the long tables and either a bench or regular chair. Seating booths are also available if you're lucky to grab a spot. Food Ahi Tuna Burger 5/5. $16.99. It did not disappoint. The fish and vegetables are very refreshing. Garlic Fries 5/5. $3.99. Your typical garlic fries, but still delicious. California Burger 2/5. $14.99. Comes with a fried egg, which I thought was an interesting ingredient, but unfortunately this didn't do it for my palette. After taking a bite of the Ahi Tuna Burger, the California Burger was sub-par and didn't have that great of a flavor. Service: We received our order in 30 minutes, but it was expected because there were tons of people in line. The cashier name on my receipt reads "Emily", and she was super nice. read more

We love Gott's! Stopped in for father's day to the Walnut Creek location and it didn't disappoint. Order, find a table to sit and wait for some excellent food. I'll say it seems like lines start to form out the door after 12/12:30pm. We arrived around 11:15am, walked right up to order and waited maybe 10 minutes for our food. However, I've stood in 45+ minute Gott's lines and it is worth it! This location is huge and offers great indoor and outdoor seating. Given it was father's day there were many families with young kids including us. We love bringing our 9 month old out with us and appreciate Gott's being accessible and family friendly. I'm happy they're being more health conscious about their burgers because they've supersize them in the small direction. There is definitely a reduction of the burger size. The chicken was breaded just right, nice tasting marinara sauce, and the bread the right texture and doesn't get too soggy. Super good. Garlic fries tasted good by my goodness they are greasy. Ordered pick up for Father's Day and I finally understand what all the hype is about. Their blueberry shake is scrumptious !!! Very smooth, creamy, and delicious. Also tried the mint one--a childhood favorite flavor. My ahi burger was yummy. Perfectly seared, perfectly paired with slaw. I loved it. Out of the sweet potato, chili cheese, and garlic fries the garlic fries were my favorite. Although, they were almost all perfectly tied. My brother-in-law tried the lobster sandwich which was apparently "crispy and light, but filling." The street corn was well seasoned and a nice addition to the meal, as well. My sister got the Wisconsin burger with a gluten free bun, and my mom got the same thing with a normal bun. It was hard to tell the difference at first, but we figured it out. Would have been nice if it was labeled, but the tastiness makes up for it. Dad got the Texas burger which was eaten and enjoyed with no complaints. Will definitely be returning even if there is a long line (like there always is). Thank you food gods for giving us Doordash! I have ordered the following (for myself) from Gott's in the last 6 weeks: Vietnamese Chicken Salad - Refreshing and crisp! I love the fresno peppers as I'm a big of "hot and spicy". The chicken is fried perfectly and travels well.... As the chicken is still quite crunchy even after being in a sealed container with greens. This has become my favorite salad. I highly suggest this salad. NOTE - this salad has peanuts (for those who have nut allergies) Fries (of course!) - My colleagues and I are impressed at how the fries remain crispy and crunchy. We always add a few orders of their fries. Impossible Chorizo Dip - This was just okay.... But I think it's because it doesn't travel well as we had to heat it up in the microwave after it was delivered. I'll definitely give it another go when we dine in at Gott's. Cheese Fries - Just like the impossible chorizo dip, the cheese didn't travel well and needed to get warmed up in the microwave as well. Mahi Tacos (grilled) - Another favorite dish of mine here! Whenever I'm not craving the Vietnamese Chicken Salad... I order the grilled mahi tacos with extra jalapenos. The spicy crema sauce and fresh orange segments adds great flavor. I've been wanting to try this place out for a while. Thankfully there is a location in Walnut Creek. I really enjoyed their bacon cheeseburger. Although, they didn't put much bacon, I still liked it. We thought their Western Bacon Blue Ring had a bit too much blue cheese for our taste but was good nonetheless. The egg buns are great along with the fresh meat patties. Fries are served in a small plate but it is enough if you stretch it out. The garlic fries are delicious and reminds me of SF Giants garlic fries from the stadium. I also love their cheese dip! It reminds me of a smoky Fritos chip bag. To top it off, a sweet cone of ice cream is perfect. Their Strauss ice cream is creamy, sweet, and fluffy. My family and I decided to eat here for dinner around 7pm and we sat outside (dining room was insanely busy) but we got lucky cause the outside seating had heaters all to ourselves. We ordered about 5-6 items off the menu. They have a lot on the menu to try but my husband and I are afraid to try something new because what we always get taste so good!!! Lunch 10/31/21 Our first time at Gott's Roadside and it was just as we had expected. We ordered the Wisconsin Burger without cheese, the Bacon Cheeseburger and garlic fries. The burgers were both on the well done side and we prefer ours cooked medium rare, hence the 3 stars. Regardless the burgers were both fresh and tasty. We really loved the garlic fries...they were bomb! This was also the first restaurant we've eaten at that they asked for proof of vaccination for indoor dining. I worked in Napa years ago and would occasionally enjoy Gott's unique upscale California take on fast casual food. They have added a few additional locations over the years and I was pleased when they opened in downtown Walnut Creek. Besides quality food, I greatly appreciate the many ways in which Gott's strives to be sustainable and environmentally friendly relative to local ingredients, food packaging, and site operations. It is often a seasonal special that bring us to Gott's. This time is was the Soft Shell Crab sandwich. It is $24.99 which is of course a high price for a "fast food" sandwich, but we are talking fresh highly seasonal soft shell crab. The sandwich was amazing, which the crab featuring a light, well-seasoned buttermilk breading. It was served on an egg bun topped with slaw and lemon mayo. We both had the crab sandwich and shared an order of their fried brussels sprouts with a lime and jalapeño mayo. We always enjoy Gott's execution of brussels sprouts. They do a nice job on many of their sides - sweet potato fries, garlic fries, and onion rings. These sides reasonably priced for the quality and unique execution, especially if you compare to the price of standard fast food fries these days. It was a very hot day - perfect for a cold Dogfish Head IPA draft and Frosé which is a blend of rosé wine and strawberry and citrus puree. The dining room was A/C cooled and fan blown, great place to be on a hot day. Based on my visits across the years, not all of the menu items and beverages are a good value for the price, and sometimes the wait can be long to order and receive food due to Gott's freshly prepared to order approach and operational execution. I rate Gott's 4 stars as a result. One does need to understand Gott's approach to unique, fresh, local, and sustainable food and operations and the impact pricing of executing with quality in those areas. People looking for $5 value meals should not expect to find that type of pricing at Gott's. read more

They offer 4 ways to serve your burger: on a filone bun (French baguette), lettuce-wrapped, wheat bread, or no bread. The burgers were cooked just right, the fries were crispy, and our bellies were round and happy. The only thing I would change is my choice of bread - I opted for the wheat bread, which got a little soggy toward the end ... next time I'm going with the filone. I've tried Gott's Roadside in St. Helena but once I found out i had a location right in my backyard, I had to stop by with no hesitation. Typically there's a line that extends on to the sidewalk since they have their social distancing protocols in place and that's cool because they also have several sign posts with menus attached to them so you can ponder what you want to eat while waiting. I didn't see anyone sitting down inside but I did see folks eating outside. Now you can either eat on the south Main Street side in front of the restaurant or on the Botelho Dr side where you'll find an artificial grass area with tons of tabled benches. All of our food was great. The garlic fries and cheese fried we received we're, meh, a little on the cold side but whatever. Everything else was enjoyable! read more

I first discovered Gott's Roadside when I noticed that the former Sweet Tomato/Fresh Choice restaurant was going out of business. It's a convenient location that's a bit off of the main Broadway plaza area. You have easy access to parking within the same lot, shared by Ross, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Sunrise Bistro, etc., and public lot adjacent to Zara and Crate and Barrel (free up to 3 hours... but make sure you check your time, cause parking goes up exponentially). They always have a long line, and from a first glance, the prices for a regular burger, or a regular sandwich, or some ice cream or lemonade doesn't seem worth it. I never got the appeal and never thought about going. Then my friend suggested we go to the Gott's Roadside when we went to Napa. Since then, I understood the appeal. The burgers, sides, and shakes are undoubtedly tasty. It's not so much the price that gets me, but rather the long wait. For the value of what you're ordering and the wait, it doesn't seem very worth it. Even though downtown Walnut Creek is going to be pricey regardless of where you go, I feel like this establishment is just okay for what you're signing up for. read more

Oh. My. Gotts! I LOVE this place! One of the perks of working in healthcare is that we often have medical device reps bring us lunch. I've heard of Gotts for years thanks to Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives, but hadn't tried them until I moved to the area. I love that there are a lot of veggie and seafood options. I've had the CA burger with a veggie patty and no bacon, but still enjoy the egg and caramelized onions. The sweet potato fries and Brussels sprouts are great. Not impressed. Their system for food is unorganized. 25% of orders got mixed up or missing orders which delayed everybody with customers. Customers were also given other peoples orders which we were returned after going to their table and sent back out to waiting customers. They were trying to keep up with the flow and they were rushing so much that side orders and salads were half filled. People are around us felt shorted for the amount of money they spent. DoorDash backed up everything. I'm wondering how many DoorDash orders got messed up. Glad we dined in to check our order. Can't say we will return. Place is made for little kids. I like the menu. About a dozen burgers, fish tacos, chicken sandwiches, salads, chili, salad, fries/onion rings, shakes, beer, and wine. I got their priciest burger, CALIFORNIA BURGER [$14.99, 3.0 stars] -- Fried egg, Cowgirl Creamery's Wagon Wheel cheese, bacon, arugula, balsamic onions & mayo on a toasted sesame brioche bun. I liked everything about it, including a phenomenal bun, but the burger patty was near awful. Big grind meant fatty gristle, what do they use, 80/20%? The patty is perfectly round and thick, too thick, and I prefer a hand-formed patty that's thinner around the edges. If fact, make it larger than the bun, just thinner. In the end, it was the quality of the patty that just ruined it for me. Plus, it was unseasoned. On the fries, they did right for me, allowing me to do a half fry / half onion ring [$3.89, 4.0 stars]. I'll come back, but for other things, not a burger. read more
