After being placed on a waitlist and waiting for 20 min, we were then directed to a table (identified by a number), you're then required to get back in another line to place your order. The pastry case has no prices or descriptions, which is especially frustrating given how unique some of the items are. The food was equally disappointing. The Joe's Special was bland and forgettable. I ordered a morning bun and specifically asked for it to be heated; it wasn't. When I asked again, it was microwaved instead of toasted, resulting in a SOGGY, inedible mess. The only bright spot was the power scone, which was decent and on the healthier side--but even then, ingredients weren't listed, and I had to ask to find out it contained no sugar or refined flour, with blueberries and oat flour.The staff was also very nice. The wait times can be on the longer side during peak times, but it's worth the wait. It's a small room near the restrooms which wasn't my favorite but my fiance was starving so we took what was first available. You order at the counter and they bring your food to you. I ordered the brisket hash and he had the breakfast burrito. The hash was great and hit the spot- I wouldn't say it's something I'll crave but it was good. I love how this diner bakes their own baked goods! From the biscotti given with their coffee, biscuits on sandwiches, breads, croissants, muffins, cookies etc- all made in house and are so delicious. I really appreciate restaurants that have a homemade vibe vs using processed/packaged ingredients. We went on a Friday late morning and there was a 5-10 minute wait for a table. My sister and I shared a scramble for breakfast before going to the hospital down the street. Yummy perfectly cooked eggs. Highlight for me was the roasted sweet potatoes. A great alternative to the typical potato hash, slightly sweet and feels lighter than regular potatoes. Also enjoyed my cappuccino. The large cup was awesome for curling both hands around to warm them. The next day, Mom was upgraded to eating regular food. Ordered fried eggs and pancakes for her. I came at 12:00 to meet my college roommate for lunch. Large parking area near Marshall's and near Broadway Plaza. The convenient location and large salad menu makes it a great choice. We walked in and it took us 15 mins for a table. *Once you're seated lol get up and go to "Order Here" to place your orders. They were very fast, maybe 10 minutes to deliver 2 salads. I had the Thai Chicken Salad and my roommate had the Caesar Goddess Salad with chicken. She loved her salad. My salad was presented beautifully. I thought the dressing was a little too sweet and my chicken was the texture of fried tofu and a bit dry. The greens were fresh and with no lettuce butts. You know where there is a big clump down at the end. They gave us complimentary whole wheat bread which had a fresh baked flavor. I would definitely come back to try one of the other 7 salads. Oh. The new layout/set-up is chaotic and makes for unpleasant breakfast. They have a large waiting area placed directly in front on the check in counter and register. So you have to navigate through a sea of people just standing around to get up to the counter to put your name in. Then, since they have no waiters now, after waiting to be seated you then have to get up and navigate back through the sea of people to order at the counter. However other tables are doing the same thing so there is a 10 min lineto order. And if you are unlucky and get sat toward the front of the restaurant, that large sea of people waiting are standing right around table , and the rest of the tables are constantly walking by to go order their food up at he counter; so your chair gets bumped a dozen times. Not to mention the parents that were letting their coughing children run all around your table. Very poor design/flow. Will never go back and wouldn't recommend. read more

Upon entering, you'll see two areas to order / check-in -- you'll most likely have to wait in a line or just wait your turn after giving your name and how many are in your party for a table to open up. People usually wait around the front until their name is called. You'll place your order at the counter and then a number will be given to you to bring to your assigned table - so grab a menu and be sure you know what you want to have beforehand. Pastries are in the front. I have usually gotten something to go before and they've given it to me on the house which I thought was a really nice gesture. To eat, I've been here only twice and have liked both meals I've tried thus far! - Carnitas & Eggs *one of their popular dishes* - Morning Bun - Ty's Omelet *w/ a slice of toast cut diagonally - 2 pcs - Coffee Cake - Coffee Everything has been delicious and the service is great! Front desk is a delight and the servers are attentive. The Sunrise Bistro continues to delight! Along with my great omelette, I had the blueberry power scone which has now become a favorite. All their baked goods are made there fresh daily. They offer 2 side choices with their breakfast meals beyond basic bread or fruit: oatmeal, baked yams, and/or a chopped broccolini mixture with kale and garlic. Sunrise Bistro is a notch above the average Denny's but can't hold a finger to the myriad of great Bay Area brunch spots. The food is mediocre but will get the job done if you're looking for a place to catch up with friends. I came here on a Sunday afternoon requesting a table of 5. Around 30 minutes later, the hostess notified us of an open table. My friends and I then ordered through the kiosk at the front and were seated immediately. Our table was surprisingly already set with the drinks we requested, despite only ordering just a short while before. So far so great! The disappointment soon ensued when our meals arrived. I ordered the quiche with a side of fruit. Though a side of fruit typically incurs an extra surcharge (especially in the Bay), it was refreshing to see no extra fee at Sunrise Bistro. But, even the decently priced side just couldn't save the otherwise flavor-lacking meal. The quiche, though listed as having cheese, had a measly amount and the overwhelming amount of spinach couldn't even impart any noticeable flavor. Like the other dishes my friends ordered, the food was simply bland. I love quiches for their crusts, but Sunrise's crust was incredibly plain and lacked any crispiness quintessential to this eggy breakfast dish. I appreciate the fact that they allegedly make everything (included their breads) in-house but, unfortunately, house-made food can still lack flavor. My friend ordered the cheese blintzes, a Jewish godsend, which I happily shared with her. However, these also were incredibly plain. The blintzes were incredibly spongy; so much so that the curdled cream cheese sopped into the blintzes making for a soggy mess. Even the tartness of the blueberries couldn't cut the unappetizing heaviness of the dish. When executed well, blintzes shouldn't be THAT absorbent. Rather, it should be decently porous to soak up the sweet interior while still adding a neutral contrast blanketing the heavy filling. One bite in and I was tapped out. Overall, the food is barely there for me, but if you're willing to look past that and just need a cozy spot for conversations with friends, then this might be for you. read more
