Chicken wings over rice
Lauren C.

Ordered this on DoorDash so I can't speak for the service. However the food was pretty good. I really enjoyed the taste of the chicken.

I'm a huge supporter of local/hole-in-the-wall places and so I think this is a food truck worth supporting. I can't say much about the ambiance because I have only gotten delivery but the food is SO good: some of the meats (e.g. chicken) is not the most tender but the sauces they pair it with are immaculate. I am especially a huge fan of the chimichurri and jalapeno cilantro salsa avocado for their tacos. I get it every time. The wings are also a must. And you definitely get what you pay: the portions are very large. Maybe I'll drop by in-person to see what service is like but I never had any delays with my orders. I hope to see this place grow!

Grilled Chicken Wings with Fries

I ordered from Gormandize through Uber Eats, and overall, it was a good experience! The food arrived fresh, well-packaged, and still warm which is always a good sign with delivery. I got the white sauce with my grilled wings meal, and let me just say as a sauce connoisseur... fire. Creamy, flavorful, and the perfect balance to the spice. It really pulled everything together. The lamb taco was on point as well, the avocado gave it a nice creaminess to the rich taste of the lamb. Portion size was solid, and the ingredients tasted fresh.

Lamb chops over rice.

The smells coming from this food truck are tantalizingly irresistible. Food was made fresh to order. Good portion sizes. They definitely could add more seasoning to the meat and the rice. Overall good food for price point.

Easy ordering!

10/10 Again! Second time coming in 1 week. Food is freakin good! Flavorful and authentic, plentiful portions and that oh so good garlic sauce! Excellent customer service and easy to find locations! Love the late hours !

I decided to try this place after seeing it on social media. It was definitely worth the hype!! I stopped by for a late night dinner and was very impressed by the portions. Each meat was smoked to perfection and the white sauce paired very nicely with all of it. I just wished I lived or worked nearby because this place would take all of my money! Highly recommend!!

Merguez Taco, Lamb Shish Kabob, Rice Bowl

Finally visited the famous galleria food truck park that I've been seeing on Instagram. Parking was a bit tough as there are not many spots and cars are going in every direction. Be prepared to eat in your car or on your trunk because there is no where to sit. Gourmandize had a bit of a line compared to the other food trucks, but we surprisingly only waited 10-15 minutes for our food to be ready! I ordered the merguez taco, shish lamb taco, and a rice bowl. Can I just say that the merguez taco was absolutely amazing. The charcoal grilled spicy lamb and beef sausage with salsas, jalapeño, cilantro, and avocado were the perfect mix of Mediterranean and Mexican. PS I would bring extra napkins and utensils as they had a limited supply.

I seem to be coming here weekly unintentionally,... I just somehow end up here. And the lamb chops over rice and wings (please cook them a little slower, last order was a bit burnt) over rice just somehow end up in my tummy. Idk what's going on. Flavors are so good! I can't stop.

Merguez Wrap

Tried this halal truck for the first time, and it was hyped up to me by several friends. As the rating suggests, I was not amazed, and as an avid supporter of halal/Mediterranean trucks, this one disappointed me, especially after such high praise. The portion size of the Merguez wrap was very small, especially for the price. The flavor was not bad, but it was not amazing nor worth coming back for. Not sure if there are other items that people really like, but the Merguez was one that I was recommended several times and I was not satisfied. Also, in comparison to the other food trucks in the park, this one was exceptionally slow, despite all having the same amount of traffic. My friends had their orders within 5-10 min, and mine took well over 20 min. Needless to say, but if I'm back in the area, I would go to the other food trucks over this one.

Beef Chicken Shawarma
Theresa B.

Shawarma became a slim Jim. Seems the owners changed the shawarma has gotten slimmer and shorter with it being the same price. They used to also toast the bread which they no longer do.

Gourmandize is freaking amazing! 5 out of 5! I don't know the words to speak more highly of this food truck. Every thing on the menu is amazing! My favorite thing here are their charcoal wings. OMG these wings are so damn good! I can not speak more highly of their wing. I have to say they have to be my most favorite wings. For the most part I usually only order from them off of DoorDash but the times I have been there to order in person the staff has always been nice. The chicken shawarma taco is another stand out to me. However the kabobs, wraps, and humus are all so good. Everything here is made to order so expect a little bit of a wait on orders, so I recommend calling an order in, in advance but it's worth the wait. So again, this is one of the best food trucks in Houston. I can't recommend more highly.

Chicken Wings over Rice

I've ordered from this place like 6x already. Always been delivered but the food came perfectly heated. The wings are sooooo good! Like not even lying. Dip it in that white garlic sauce and omg it's heaven. The rice is so good. Pairs so well with the chicken and rice with the sauces. Also, the salad is so delicious. I recommend this spot.

Really good food and it's Halal. I visited this food truck one late night when I was out with a friend who had a dietary restriction to eat Halal. This place did not disappoint. We got their Lamb Shawarma Sandwich. It was juicy and seasoned quite well. It did take a little bit for our food to be prepared, but it might be because they prepare lamb on order only after a certain time in the evening. There are a few other food trucks around here, making it a good location for eating out with friends that want to eat different cuisines.

Marquez not that great imo

As busy as they were, we had 3 managers stop by to ask how we were doing. - Food was awesome. I don't even know what we ordered since we had a native Persian friend that ordered for us. All I can say that the kebab, soltani, lamb ribs, and Persian ice cream, were amazing. - Modern, clean ambiance. Bad: - Gets crowded during busy the weekends. The place is new but not recently new, so I was impress that they were still attracting a crowd. The place was packed and busy but the host was still able to seat us immediately. With reservation, of course. Our seat was a banquet seating and when the host directed us to our table, we notice the party seated next to our table had placed all their personal belongings on our seats. We had to ask the host to ask them to remove their personals so that we can sit down. I felt that the host should have done that and not upon our request. Our server was Keamogetswe and she jumped right into explaining the menu since it was our first time. I am used to ordering drinks first and while waiting for our drinks, explore the food menu. That way, we can ask questions about any item we were unfamiliar with on the menu. Anyways, we ordered our food and they came out very fast. For starters, we had the grilled shrimp which was just two shrimps. They were not prawns so the size of the two shrimps for $18 was not worth it to me. We also tried the Rumi's wings. They were average to me. Nothing to brag about. For the main course, we wanted to try several dishes and settle for a family style meal. We had the braised lamb shank, chicken kabob and the Koobideh Kabob. Since all plates came with rice, Keamogetswe suggest we try different rice options which was a great suggestion. So for the rice, we had the Adas, the Baghali and the Shirin. I have to admit that the braised lamb was amazing. The stew it sat in was very flavorful and the meat melted off the bone it came with. The Koobideh was also another favorite of mine. Both, I highly recommend everyone to try. And my favorite rice was the Shirin. As we moved on to dessert, we had the burnt honey & pistachio cake and the persian ice cream sandwich. Both taste great but the persian ice cream sandwich itself was vanilla wafer. Different but it made it easier to eat with your fingers. The weird thing was when the dessert was served to us, so was the check. I am used to us eating dessert or just starting to enjoy dessert before being handed the check. And when they do hand me the check, they would mention that it was no rush and when I am ready to take care of it. But that didn't happen and I decided to get it out of the way so I can just enjoy the dessert. As we were conversing and finishing our drinks, they started to clear our table and even picked up the signed check or tab. It felt like they were hinting us to get up. I feel that if there was a time frame to dine with them, they should have made us aware of it before dinner or when we made reservation like how Toca Madera does. So that made me feel uncomfortable. But this could just be me.

Only one other table was occupied, and someone who seemed to be the owner warmly greeted my group of 5 with some menus and an offer for Turkish coffee and tea. The lunch special is quite generous, and includes a wide array of starters and entrees. With 5 people, we tried 5 different appetizers and 5 different entrees and got a good sampling of their menu. The chicken shish kebab, falafel, lamb kebab, and menemen were all well seasoned and paired nicely with the many dishes of rice, salad, and flatbread they all came with. The lentil soup was also delicious. I was with my parents, who really only have a desire to eat East and Southeast Asian food, but they still enjoyed our meal here, which is saying a lot.
