Tacos
Samantha W.

I'm a huge supporter of local/hole-in-the-wall places and so I think this is a food truck worth supporting. I can't say much about the ambiance because I have only gotten delivery but the food is SO good: some of the meats (e.g. chicken) is not the most tender but the sauces they pair it with are immaculate. I am especially a huge fan of the chimichurri and jalapeno cilantro salsa avocado for their tacos. I get it every time. The wings are also a must. And you definitely get what you pay: the portions are very large. Maybe I'll drop by in-person to see what service is like but I never had any delays with my orders. I hope to see this place grow!

Grilled Chicken Wings with Fries

I ordered from Gormandize through Uber Eats, and overall, it was a good experience! The food arrived fresh, well-packaged, and still warm which is always a good sign with delivery. I got the white sauce with my grilled wings meal, and let me just say as a sauce connoisseur... fire. Creamy, flavorful, and the perfect balance to the spice. It really pulled everything together. The lamb taco was on point as well, the avocado gave it a nice creaminess to the rich taste of the lamb. Portion size was solid, and the ingredients tasted fresh.

The smells coming from this food truck are tantalizingly irresistible. Food was made fresh to order. Good portion sizes. They definitely could add more seasoning to the meat and the rice. Overall good food for price point.

Easy ordering!

10/10 Again! Second time coming in 1 week. Food is freakin good! Flavorful and authentic, plentiful portions and that oh so good garlic sauce! Excellent customer service and easy to find locations! Love the late hours !

I decided to try this place after seeing it on social media. It was definitely worth the hype!! I stopped by for a late night dinner and was very impressed by the portions. Each meat was smoked to perfection and the white sauce paired very nicely with all of it. I just wished I lived or worked nearby because this place would take all of my money! Highly recommend!!

Merguez Taco, Lamb Shish Kabob, Rice Bowl

Finally visited the famous galleria food truck park that I've been seeing on Instagram. Parking was a bit tough as there are not many spots and cars are going in every direction. Be prepared to eat in your car or on your trunk because there is no where to sit. Gourmandize had a bit of a line compared to the other food trucks, but we surprisingly only waited 10-15 minutes for our food to be ready! I ordered the merguez taco, shish lamb taco, and a rice bowl. Can I just say that the merguez taco was absolutely amazing. The charcoal grilled spicy lamb and beef sausage with salsas, jalapeño, cilantro, and avocado were the perfect mix of Mediterranean and Mexican. PS I would bring extra napkins and utensils as they had a limited supply.

I seem to be coming here weekly unintentionally,... I just somehow end up here. And the lamb chops over rice and wings (please cook them a little slower, last order was a bit burnt) over rice just somehow end up in my tummy. Idk what's going on. Flavors are so good! I can't stop.

Merguez Wrap

Tried this halal truck for the first time, and it was hyped up to me by several friends. As the rating suggests, I was not amazed, and as an avid supporter of halal/Mediterranean trucks, this one disappointed me, especially after such high praise. The portion size of the Merguez wrap was very small, especially for the price. The flavor was not bad, but it was not amazing nor worth coming back for. Not sure if there are other items that people really like, but the Merguez was one that I was recommended several times and I was not satisfied. Also, in comparison to the other food trucks in the park, this one was exceptionally slow, despite all having the same amount of traffic. My friends had their orders within 5-10 min, and mine took well over 20 min. Needless to say, but if I'm back in the area, I would go to the other food trucks over this one.

Beef Chicken Shawarma

Shawarma became a slim Jim. Seems the owners changed the shawarma has gotten slimmer and shorter with it being the same price. They used to also toast the bread which they no longer do.

Gourmandize is freaking amazing! 5 out of 5! I don't know the words to speak more highly of this food truck. Every thing on the menu is amazing! My favorite thing here are their charcoal wings. OMG these wings are so damn good! I can not speak more highly of their wing. I have to say they have to be my most favorite wings. For the most part I usually only order from them off of DoorDash but the times I have been there to order in person the staff has always been nice. The chicken shawarma taco is another stand out to me. However the kabobs, wraps, and humus are all so good. Everything here is made to order so expect a little bit of a wait on orders, so I recommend calling an order in, in advance but it's worth the wait. So again, this is one of the best food trucks in Houston. I can't recommend more highly.

Chicken Wings over Rice

I've ordered from this place like 6x already. Always been delivered but the food came perfectly heated. The wings are sooooo good! Like not even lying. Dip it in that white garlic sauce and omg it's heaven. The rice is so good. Pairs so well with the chicken and rice with the sauces. Also, the salad is so delicious. I recommend this spot.

Really good food and it's Halal. I visited this food truck one late night when I was out with a friend who had a dietary restriction to eat Halal. This place did not disappoint. We got their Lamb Shawarma Sandwich. It was juicy and seasoned quite well. It did take a little bit for our food to be prepared, but it might be because they prepare lamb on order only after a certain time in the evening. There are a few other food trucks around here, making it a good location for eating out with friends that want to eat different cuisines.

Marquez not that great imo
Thanh T.

Wow I couldn't have been more disappointed. I was so stoked to try this place after seeing the social media photos. After waiting 25 minutes for my order, the food was very underwhelming. I ordered the Marquez and the lamb taco. Both lacked flavor. There needed to be a sauce or something. It just tasted like grilled meat inside a tortilla poorly seasoned. You can try it for yourself, but I've had way better even from gyro hut or franchises like that. I'm got cat phished lol

Started to enjoy this first each time I come. It is that delicious, but why can't I find fruit like that anywhere at a grocery store? Give this place a try. Yummy. Officially the authentic Greek restaurant without going overboard. Wait- the homemade 3 layer chocolate cake and the lemon cake! Actually bought a whole one for a large birthday party and everyone wanted to know the bakery name- just Athena's homemade cake! Remember, Greek food is fresh with best ingredients. Service is above that notch and family atmosphere with Greek music- always. But I do find I'm stopping in there solo all the time; others too! It just never comes close to this. It's not often I find restaurants where the vegetarian options don't feel like an afterthought, but Kasra absolutely gets it right. Established back in 1977, this Greek café has grown from a humble walk‑up window into a full‑fledged neighborhood institution, beloved for its hearty Mediterranean comfort food and lively, come‑as‑you‑are atmosphere. The Montrose location stays bustling from lunch through late night, drawing in everyone from families to night‑owls to longtime regulars who've been coming here for decades. What keeps people returning is simple: the food hits. Diners consistently praise the authentic Greek flavors, especially the gyro plates -- a blend of beef and lamb shaved from the spit, tucked into warm, fresh pita, and finished with cool, garlicky tzatziki. Portions are generous without being sloppy, and the pricing stays reasonable, making it one of the best value spots in the neighborhood. Your gyro arrives stacked, your fries come hot, and your plate feels like it was built by someone who actually wants you to leave full. The menu is huge, but the classics shine brightest. The Greek salad is crisp and refreshing, loaded with feta, olives, tomatoes, and their famous dressing. Service here is fast, friendly, and efficient -- the kind of counter‑style operation where the staff keeps things moving without losing the warmth that makes the place feel welcoming. Guests frequently mention how upbeat and helpful the team is, even during rush hours. The vibe is lively but never chaotic: families grabbing dinner, couples sharing mezze plates, and regulars chatting with staff like old friends. It's casual, energetic, and unmistakably Montrose. One thing that sets Niko Niko's apart is its deep Houston history. The Fetokakis family has run the restaurant for nearly half a century, maintaining a strong work ethic and a commitment to quality that helped the café earn multiple Houston Press awards over the years -- from Best Pork Chops to Best Family‑Owned Restaurant. Even as the city has changed around it, Niko Niko's has stayed true to its roots: hearty food, Greek hospitality, and a community‑driven spirit. Whether you're grabbing a quick gyro, sitting down for a full spread, or stopping by for dessert after a night out, Niko Niko's delivers exactly what a neighborhood staple should: great food, great value, and a welcoming atmosphere. The flavors are bold, the portions are generous, and the experience feels like Houston -- diverse, warm, and full of character. If you're in Montrose and craving Greek comfort done right, this spot remains one of the city's most reliable pleasures.

Landlords are often real pos scumbags to begin with, which is why several great, popular restaurants close as time goes by. Cafe Red Onion on Kirby had that same problem years ago. I went here last night ordering the # 74 Lamb Adana with rice n salad, plus an extra skewer. I also got another # 74 togo to share with family, bc that's it. Will they open another establishment similar in the future is completely unknown. Istanbul Grill will be missed and was the oldest Turkish restaurant still standing. The lamb kebab skewers were so delicious, well-seasoned, juicy, not gamy and had that charcoal / charbroiled aroma to them, which all kabobs are really supposed to have like TX Bbq is to smokiness taste. The rice was really fresh like the meat in its own right with a buttery flavor to it. The salad was tangy and refreshing. Some other Turkish restaurants might make some dishes good, but never execute the lamb adana entree right, due to heat source n lack of seasoning. The service was very welcoming, friendly and efficient. Some places tend to not give a damn about many customers when they're about to close, but this place was always on point. Best of luck to the people running it and their staff.
