    Parked on Sawtelle.

I know some rave about this place, I'm... indifferent. To be fair, the star is definitely the JFC Bowl. It's chunks of fried chicken, too big to be bite-sized, but it goes well with the quantity of rice-- which is enough to be a pretty decent meal. And the fried chicken is nicely juicy and flavorful. The other items I haven't been impressed with, or they weren't as expected. Gyoza on the menu photo looked pan fried, but what I got was deep fried-- and while I looove deep fried, I had really been looking forward to pan fried. So that was... eh. Fluffy dog was kind of fun, the hot dog itself was surprisingly tasty, but the fluffy of the folded bun just resulted in a sloppy mess to eat. It even felt and tasted fluffy but sure didn't look fluffy. Hard to say this was worth the mess. And the roast beef bowl, if you're hoping this will fill the place of the recently-dearly-departed-Red-Rock-Sawtelle... well, it definitely doesn't. It's quite meh, entirely forgettable, and can't hide the fact that the rice they use is definitely not top-shelf.

The lines can get pretty long at this food truck located in Sawtelle but I stopped by on a Saturday early afternoon and there was no wait! The cashier lady was so sweet and helped me out with what was popular. I ordered the rice Benito, and karaage with rice. YUM! All super delicious! They even have this fun little spin the wheel when you pick up your food to win small prizes :)

I had gotten the charcoal chicken ramen when they had first opened and it was so overwhelming tasting of charcoal and soot - I could not finish my ramen or taste anything other than the smokiness. This time, I got the rich chicken ramen- it came out very fresh and hot. Note that they ask if you'd like regular vs large for the same price (large has more noodles). The broth is very rich and on the thicker side. The noodles had a good texture and the fixings were done well. I appreciate the option to add some yuzu kosho albeit the paste was a bit salty. It was quite good 3.75/5 - one of the better options in Sawtelle! I do prefer lighter ramens so my rating is biased. I'd come back if my friends wanted to try it. Parking can be a bit tough. Service is quick and friendly.

The dipping broth is thick, rich, and flavorful - each bite literally packs a punch to your taste buds in the best way possible, and I'm also a sucker for the seasoned egg that comes with it because it's cooked perfectly. I like to squeeze the lime to cut some of the fattiness, and because I'm literally drowning those noodles in the broth to soak it all up, I typically never have any leftover lol... BUT if you do finish your noodles, you can request to add soup wari to the rest of the broth so that you can sip it~

First of all, there were so many flies around us. We were constantly shooing them away which was very disruptive and honestly pretty gross for a restaurant. Secondly I ordered the spicy tsukemen and he ordered the garlic collab tsukemen. He enjoyed his but said it was literally the same as the regular tsukemen but with squid ink so nothing special. For the spicy tsukemen, it was not that good. The flavor was mid. The temperature was lukewarm at best which was weird because it came with literal smoke but when I actually tasted the soup and noodles, it was lukewarm. The only redeeming factor was the eggs. The eggs were actually so good. Otherwise the entire dish was a miss.

The spicy GOAM with crispy noodles as the base was great, definitely not as much of a spicy flavor as I thought, as it seemed the main source was pickled jalapeños tucked into the layers. I personally am not a fan of a concentrated spicy jalapeño bite so I ended up not getting much spice. However the rest of the pancake was very good! The loaded Kaisen was indeed piled high with seafood, but I thought the flavor was a bit light in the pancake itself. The seafood did seem fresh and tender though! The hamburg omurice was absolutely delicious. Something about their demiglace sauce here was special, I'm usually not a fan but this time I ate every drop! The steak was also tender and juicy, a perfect combination with the dish as a whole. At a late lunch time (2PMish) it wasn't too busy, and service was pretty quick! The interior is casual and you can even see the chefs working. I'd definitely come back to Chinchikurin, I can't wait to try more!

This is the same restaurant group my college bestie and I last dined at (in Gardena) that she recommended. Sadly she's no longer with us and I'd chase her memory by visiting places we've been together... Shin-Sen-Gumi Chanko was her last recommendation, and she was Japanese so I feel like she would know what legit Japanese food is. :) All the skewers were delicious, the ramen broth we requested to be not too salty and they were able to accommodate. We love the chicken heart so much we ordered seconds. The gizzard skin was the only one I felt like we could have skipped, too chewy for me. The sushi taco were yummy too, highly recommend those, I love the pork belly eggplant and ordered 2 sets of those too, have yet to try something similar elsewhere... so happy we were able to pay them a visit. Street parking wasn't too difficult either. Thanks for the good times!

My favorite items were the chicken meatballs, they were juicy and flavorful. The spice tuna on crispy rice was ok, the rice was a bit too hard. The cucumber salad was good too, nice was to add some acidity to the menu. Overall good place and I would come back again.
