I am so jealous of the people living in this complex to have such an amazing deli right downstairs. Came up from San Diego to attend a live taping of a show at the Los Angeles studios down the street and found this place on yelp. I have to say I felt 100% welcomed the moment I walked in with my party. Grace (I'm assuming it's her) was so gracious and helpful, explained the whole menu, pushed tables together for us and tried her best to make us feel at home. Had a picky eater with us and Grace gave him a free glass of milk and even brought out some chocolate syrup. I have tried a handful of items from their menu and I can honestly say that they were all amazing. It gets crazy packed during lunch, ( because it's that good ) but surprisingly the wait has never been more than 5 min. Another option is calling ahead, which I often do. This is seriously one of the most quaint cafes that always has me leaving a smile. Had their famous chicken Acapulco wrap which had wholesome pieces of grilled chicken, fresh avocado, sliced raw onions, cilantro, and lettuce with a creamy Caesar dressing. Wraps are wraps yes but what made this one so addicting and good (literally it felt good for your health to eat) was the freshness and wholesomeness of the ingredients. It was prepared fresh and I could literally pick out all the separate ingredients placed in and see how fresh they were. Also comes with a side of chips or small salad! I come here almost every single morning. And, sometimes I see Grace or some of her workers. Grace and the workers are really nice and hospitable. I always grab the egg, cheese, and bacon croissant. $5.50 for the house special turkey pesto panini with a can soda. With tax and all, it comes out to be a whole $6.00 :) You can't beat this price in downtown area for lunch. They haven't raise the price yet, but even if they do it's pretty affordable. This place is mainly run by the owner herself so service may be slow when she's the only one there, but the food is fresh and delicious. This is a small place with BIG SERVICE! Ms. Grace sees to it that you get what you want and how you want it. So shocked that this place barely has any reviews, but then again, The Visconti doesn't seem to be filled with Yelpers since even the main Visconti Yelp page barely has any reviews in comparison to other apartment complexes (or even its sister properties). I moved in this week and was freaking out that my only food options within the building were vending machines, but one day I drove by and noticed an ice cream sign outside Grace Cafe. Intrigued, I googled "Visconti Cafe" and this came up. I've been meaning to try it all week but they actually close relatively early. ANYWAYS... Finally tried it yesterday-- on my way there I remembered they closed on the weekends and was really sad but decided to press my luck anyways... turns out they extended their hours to 7am-2pm on Saturday and I got there right in the nick of time. The Asian couple who owns this place is SO ADORABLE so automatically you feel 10x happier. And then you look at the prices and you're like WHOAH, so cheap. They have tons of options in terms of sandwiches/wraps/salads, and most are 5-6 bucks. The wrap I got (Chicken Acapulco... HIGHLY recommend) was not only delicious, but HUGE and lasted me 2 meals. It came with two pickles and salad or "baked" chips (no they aren't baked... they're regular Cheetos/Doritos/Lay's but sometimes it feels good to be gluttonous so YOLO). I got a diet root beer can for $1, and after conversing with the lady for a few minutes, she gave me some free bananas! Soooo cute and adorable, they're closed on Sundays and were about to close for Saturday so I guess there were no more customers to buy the bananas and they didn't want them to go to waste. While there, a man came in to buy some coffee but the lady was busy making my sandwich-- she told him just to leave a dollar near the cash register even though coffee is over a dollar on the menu. So trusting and shows she cares more about her customers (especially ones who live at the Visconti and are back on a regular basis) than the money. I will definitely be back, and I am so excited to try the rest of their options! The food is great, the people are so friendly, and the prices are cheaper than what you would find in my hometown of Lexington, South Carolina-- which is really saying something since Grace Cafe is located blocks away from the heart of DTLA. Cute little mom and pop shop. The Korean lady that works there is the owner! This place is truly a hidden gem. Prices are insanely cheap and the portions are HUGE. I really don't understand how they get any profit with how great of a deal everything is. My go-tos here are the Acapulco wrap and the chicken pesto panini. Each order comes with your choice of chips or salad. The place itself is tiny and not a place to actually eat at - just call in your order and pick up and go. This place has different specials of the day. Everything I've had here has never been bad. Avoid the mornings before 8AM since all of the kids from the school nearby grab breakfast here. They're not stingy about extra sauces and are more than happy to make any modifications to your order. They also have a stamp card where you get a free meal every 10 meals. This place is great - I really do wish that there were more places like this! They serve wraps, paninis, salads and their daily specials range from Asian to Mexican and more. Took the advice of local Yelpers and gave this cafe a chance and it was fantastic. I walked in not knowing what to order... prepping myself for a simple salad or a sandwich... nothing too special... BUT to my surprise, the special of the day was Bi-Bim-Bap (Korean Veggie/Meat bowl) and they even had the Korean hot sauce (Go Chi Jang). The veggies were stir fried and they added the pefect amount of sesame seed oil. The portion was also great... I had for 2 lunches! It turns out the owners are Korean so their version of the bowl was awesome. I'm looking forward to trying their other entrees... I found this place because it's at the base of my apartment complex. It's owned by a nice family. I'd have to say that I'm a sucker for their breakfast sandwiches. I recommend getting a croissant sandwich with turkey, cheddar cheese, and egg. I'm also a big fan of their beef bowl. Such a versatile store and the older Asian woman who works as the cashier is absolutely wonderful.
