Very good service and food! We tried the chickpea salad sandwich, hand pie, and a pecan square pastry - all were delicious and tasted fresh!

Had an amazing breakfast here: egg sandwich on a biscuit with bacon and pepper jack cheese. The biscuit is rectangular for maximum surface area. Great coffee too and great vibes!

This is a wonderfully chocolate petit four.

I enjoyed the baked items from here. The Petit Four was a good size and very chocolatey. Dark chocolate on the outside with layers of chocolate cake and cream. I also had the sweet cruffin and the Parmesan cruffin. Both were enjoyable. The service was friendly and helpful.

Ok, best scone I've had in a long time but it could be because I was in Germany for the last 6 months where they don't really have scones. This one was uniquely good though because it was the perfect texture and sweetness without tasting like a cupcake or biscuit. I had one two days in a row and even as a day old it was amazing. I had the cold brew and the London smog with vanilla instead of lavender due to the barista's on point recommendation. It was amazing! I love the cute corner store front on St. Charles and I will come back here again and again. The service was really genuine and helpful. Highly recommend, favorite coffee shop I've had in New Orleans so far! Update: downgraded to 4 star. I came in before work hoping to relax and have a cappuccino in a big ceramic mug with an encouraging heart on it.. nope, not here. I didn't express the expectation because when I said for here and not to go, I thought it was a known outcome. This is not your place if you're looking for that. Still a good place but I can't say it's better than all the other ones that give the full cafe experience.

    Smoked turkey pesto sandwich

Popped in here around 1pm on a Thursday. There were only a handful of other people here. I got the smoked turkey sandwich with a hibiscus iced tea. The girl taking orders didn't seem to really be paying much attention. She asked me my order twice and then still got my drink wrong (ordered elderberry but got hibiscus). Don't get me wrong the drink was still good, so I wasn't too upset. They had ample seating inside and a few places to sit outside. The sandwich was great! Perfect for a light lunch.

    A little pricey

A little pricey for what you get. Conveniently located. Not too much charm. Won't return

    Avocado toast
    Rose S.

Gracious bakery has a very generic feel w/a few tables, the display cases of goodies and the counter service. Don't let that fool you! The avocado toast is a nice little nosh. As with most avocado toast, I wish it would be a little bit less char/toast in the bread base so it's not like cutting into it and fearing it's going to jump off the plate and attack the person on the other side of the table. The croissants are what one loves buttery, flaky, crumbs all over you if you're not careful. Kept a couple in my purse for snacks during the day when I wandered about the Quarter. Pricing is fantastically what I would call cheap for New Orleans for excellent quality.

Thank you Yelpers for helping us find this cute spot for breakfast. I had the avocado toast and he had the salmon bagel. We shared a few pastries... all were delicious.

    Breakfast sandwich on a bagel

Chose this place when searching for a quick breakfast place, and happy that we did! Easy walk from our Airbnb, on the corner of scenic St Charles in the garden district. Ordered two coffees a morning bun and breakfast sandwich. Perfect quick breakfast on the go. Pleasant service, nice little breakfast stop... and quick!

Quiche and salad with creamy herb
    Kristina A.

Convenient little spot in the garden district. Service was mediocre. Food was ok. The bagel was borderline burnt. We couldn't cut it with a knife. Quiche lacked flavor. The creamy herb dressing on my salad was delicious. The warm cinnamon roll was a little crunchy from the heat up. Overall served its purpose for a quick bite while in the garden district.

Lemon Tart: is a bit more crust than lemon filling.
    Charles H.

"OK!" 1. Food: not really a place to get an outstanding creation like O'Delice, Bittersweet, or the old Sucre. Nothing here is bad, just not special (see pic). 2. Atmosphere: here's the real problem. Back when it was a po'boy shop concrete floors and a dark eating space were common - like Matassa's or the Nelly Deli. But for a high end bakery it's kind of creepy. 3. Regardless: it's good to have in the neighborhood for a sugar rush.

The executive chef is definitely cooking very very well!!! We loved the Blue Crab Ragoon App as well as the Crab Cakes. There was nothing left on the plates. For entrées we had Banana Foster Pain Perdu, Side of Duck Bacon, Hashbrown, 100% Seafood Gumbo and Fried Catfish. Everything was seasoned to perfection and hot!!! Last but definitely not least are the Cocktails which were very good. Try the Cold Brew Martini if you like iced coffee type drinks and also try the Strawberry Lemon drop for a sweet treat. Both taste great and have a nice amount of spirits in them. This is a must try in NOLA. Will definitely return!!

Both were outstanding. The Bananas Foster French Toast was rich, indulgent, and packed with flavor without being overwhelmingly sweet. The bananas and sauce were the perfect complement to the French toast, making it feel like a New Orleans dessert and breakfast all in one. The Boudin Breakfast Biscuit was equally impressive. The biscuit was fresh and flaky, and the boudin added a delicious Cajun flavor that set it apart from a typical breakfast sausage. Every bite was savory, satisfying, and uniquely Louisiana. The food was excellent, the atmosphere was welcoming, and it's easy to see why Surrey's has such a loyal following. If you're visiting New Orleans and looking for a memorable breakfast, put this place on your list. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in town.

It has retro vibes, and I loved how the outside looked. The inside was just as cute, with 80s toys lining the walls. There was ample seating. The staff was very friendly and helped me pick out what I would like to order. I went with the spicy chicken biscuit and a side of hashbrowns. The hashbrowns were very crispy and seasoned well, so I loved them, as soggy hashbrowns are a major pet peeve of mine. The chicken biscuit was good, but I'm not 100% sure it was to my taste. It was massive and very hard to eat, and there was a lot of fried chicken skin. The mayo on the sandwich was definitely homemade and had a very strong egg flavor, so I would go without that next time. The biscuit was probably the best biscuit I've ever had. As a California girl, I think the flavors might have just been a little too strong for me, but still a great spot to stop by.

We checked into our nearby hotel a bit early in the day and was looking to hit the streets for a spot to get a chill/light breakfast, a coffee and maybe a cocktail. We found all the things at Luzianne Cafe. Whether you belly up to the bar or grab a table, both of which are first come first serve, you start at the counter where you order, pay and grab your table number. It appears that during busy times they allow you to sit first and order from the QR at your table, this is an assumption given the code to order at the table, but the sign at the entry directed folks to the counter to order before sitting. For breakfast, we got the breakfast biscuit which came with eggs, bacon and cheese, and sided it with grits. The breakfast sandwich was solid, eggs were a bit soft and grits were more mealy than we are used to, but I think that may be authenticity of the area more than anything. I opted for the three option omelet with onion, sausage and gouda plus a side of sausage links. The omelet, though odd sounding combination turned out to be solid. Maybe it was my options, but it was decently "one note" in flavor. I tossed a little hot sauce on and that helped. However, while the sausage links were not much to look at, they were tasty, with a nice snap to the casing and meaty inside. To go with our breakfast, I got a cold brew with a splash of almond milk while my partner embraced NOLA and started his day with a bourbon sour. Both of us enjoyed our choices! Service was friendly and helpful at the counter/bar. The food runner was nice and then another member, assuming the Manager, that stopped by to check on us mid meal. She was super friendly and nice. We were a party of 3 adults and 2 children (one being only 2 years old), and because of that they changed our table type from a 4-top to a 5-top and made us wait an additional 30 minutes. Meanwhile, multiple tables became available that easily could have accommodated us, but the hostess was determined to keep telling us we had to wait. To make matters worse, there was open bench seating in the back where customers ordering to-go could sit. I offered to order food to-go so we could at least sit down and get started while waiting, and she told me if I did that they would remove our name from the waitlist because "you have to pick one or the other." No willingness to problem solve whatsoever. She repeatedly said she was "sorry," but her actions showed the opposite. I was simply trying to work together to find some reasonable solution instead of continuing to watch everyone else get seated while our family, including small children, kept waiting. Absolutely horrible customer service experience.
