My family and I ate lunch here the other day and we absolutely loved it! The Brussels appetizer special was fantastic, and we all devoured our entrées: my dad got the smoked trout sandwich and my grandmother and I each got the Downtowner. We shared a piece of cheesecake with bananas foster for dessert and were scraping every little bit we could get off the plate by the end; beyond delicious (my dad said that he'd only ever had bananas foster over ice cream and never would've thought to pair it with cheesecake but that it was an absolutely perfect combination). Food was outstanding. The "rebel chicken" I think it was called was top notch, crispy like a duck, tender inside, great. All the food was fantastic at our table. Being from Plant City, Florida, Winter strawberry capital for those who did not know. I thought I had every contortion of the strawberry in confection or cake. I was wrong. Food was amazing. I had the Brasstown ribeye and lamb meatballs They were just like I wanted. The meatballs were a must try. The steak was delicious. Great location. The ambiance was great. Clean and enjoyable. I dropped one star for service. We spend a lot of money. I shouldn't have to ask for more water or anything else. They were not even busy. They should be all over us. Maybe it was just that server. She made a very easy mistake on my order. It was easily fixed but if she had checked it. It wouldn't have been a problem in the first place. My wife and I went here for date night a few months back. I ordered the steak and she had the salmon. The server was attentive but the food was lackluster. The portions were very small. We each had 3 sticks of asparagus and my potatoes and my wife's rice were like a small ramekin. I would be willing to give it another shot but it was also kind of pricy for the food. Stopped here off the highway for brunch while on a road trip. Nice atmosphere, friendly wait staff. The food was really well prepared using fresh ingredients. Stopped for lunch while passing through on our way back to Athens. We parked a couple of blocks away, and enjoyed stretching our legs through the cute downtown. The staff were friendly...but the FOOD. There were 4 in our party, and everybody loved their meals. None of us were drinking, but there's a decent selection of that, as well. He questioned the waitress saying it didn't look like a ribeye sandwich. She said it was. It looked like a Philly cheese. Our third time eating at Gracious plates was last night and just like the first two times, it did not disappoint! On our first visit, we had Meredith's pork tenderloin with blue cheese mashed potatoes and fried Brussels sprouts (their veggie of the day). The pork was cooked perfectly and tasty as were the sides. We also had the Tellico valley salad with shrimp. The lime vinaigrette was superb. Our second visit, I had the Righteous Rebel half chicken dinner and my wife again had the Tellico salad with shrimp. Last night, my wife went for the Ribeye and said it was cooked to perfection (rare to mid rare). I had the Gracious sampler which was a super fun dinner with shoestring fries on the side. Well I was super excited to see a new restaurant in Franklin with an inventive vibe and a creative menu. The staff was lovely and knowledgeable. The atmosphere was a huge disappointment. I was so taken by how weird the layout was how strange the wallpaper and colors were and how it lacked any vibe at all. It had the vibe of a cheap diner. We had the fondue appetizer which was good....the vegetable assortment was disappointing as was the pork tenderloin....The glass of wine I was served looked like it was about 2 oz. of liquid.....also strange. Anyway - I hope With a little more time this place will step up to what it wants to be. I will surely be back. I like to be supportive of New endeavors!! read more

Made reservations and the table was ready shortly after arrival. The girl who waited on us was young but very attentive. She kept us in drinks without being asked. The food selection was good but could have used a little more seasoning. The presentation was pleasant. The portions were large. In todays times restaurants are trying to hold prices by reducing portion size. These portions were quite large. No booze due to no license yet but that's not a deal breaker. The owner came by to chat and check on us. That's a sign of a good restaurant. The cheesecake was great. Overall a good experience. We will be back! read more

The service was abysmal from the start with the exception of a very friendly hostess. When I ordered a harvest salad, our server, brought out the wrong one and had the audacity to blame me for the mistake and said they ran out of the Harvest salad and brought something entirely different without telling us. We requested a well-done salmon, but it arrived completely rare. Upon sending it back, hoping for a proper cooking, it returned to the table chopped into pieces in a tiny bowl- I wouldn't feed to my cat.
