I was traveling with a friend to Asheville in July and stopped by here after reading the reviews. Loved the atmosphere, very cozy and inviting. We were seated right away at a booth. It was hard to decide what to drink because there were so many creative cocktails. I ended up getting the Pickletini and it was delicious. Again, when ordering food, hard to decide and opted for a bunch of small plates to share. We got the scallops, tuna bites, tempura shrimp, crab bites and stuffed portabello. The food came out quickly, presentation was gorgeous and everything was cooked perfectly. I found the prices to be very reasonable and the quality of food similar to nice restaurants in a big city. I try to get out this way every year and gracious plates will be a mainstay every time. read more

My family and I ate lunch here the other day and we absolutely loved it! The Brussels appetizer special was fantastic, and we all devoured our entrées: my dad got the smoked trout sandwich and my grandmother and I each got the Downtowner. We shared a piece of cheesecake with bananas foster for dessert and were scraping every little bit we could get off the plate by the end; beyond delicious (my dad said that he'd only ever had bananas foster over ice cream and never would've thought to pair it with cheesecake but that it was an absolutely perfect combination). Food was amazing. I had the Brasstown ribeye and lamb meatballs They were just like I wanted. The meatballs were a must try. The steak was delicious. Great location. The ambiance was great. Clean and enjoyable. I dropped one star for service. We spend a lot of money. I shouldn't have to ask for more water or anything else. They were not even busy. They should be all over us. Maybe it was just that server. She made a very easy mistake on my order. It was easily fixed but if she had checked it. It wouldn't have been a problem in the first place. My wife and I went here for date night a few months back. I ordered the steak and she had the salmon. The server was attentive but the food was lackluster. The portions were very small. We each had 3 sticks of asparagus and my potatoes and my wife's rice were like a small ramekin. I would be willing to give it another shot but it was also kind of pricy for the food. Stopped here off the highway for brunch while on a road trip. Nice atmosphere, friendly wait staff. The food was really well prepared using fresh ingredients. Really enjoyed the smothered, stuffed portobello was excellent. Kids has Belgian waffles and flank steak and eggs. Everything was really good. Worth the stop. read more

Our third time eating at Gracious plates was last night and just like the first two times, it did not disappoint! On our first visit, we had Meredith's pork tenderloin with blue cheese mashed potatoes and fried Brussels sprouts (their veggie of the day). The pork was cooked perfectly and tasty as were the sides. We also had the Tellico valley salad with shrimp. The lime vinaigrette was superb. Our second visit, I had the Righteous Rebel half chicken dinner and my wife again had the Tellico salad with shrimp. Last night, my wife went for the Ribeye and said it was cooked to perfection (rare to mid rare). I had the Gracious sampler which was a super fun dinner with shoestring fries on the side. This is such a great restaurant and we are happy to be able to have them in Franklin! Shout out to Mama Deb and Niji as our fabulous servers! read more

Made reservations and the table was ready shortly after arrival. The girl who waited on us was young but very attentive. She kept us in drinks without being asked. The food selection was good but could have used a little more seasoning. The presentation was pleasant. The portions were large. In todays times restaurants are trying to hold prices by reducing portion size. These portions were quite large. No booze due to no license yet but that's not a deal breaker. The owner came by to chat and check on us. That's a sign of a good restaurant. The cheesecake was great. Overall a good experience. We will be back! read more

Well I was super excited to see a new restaurant in Franklin with an inventive vibe and a creative menu. The staff was lovely and knowledgeable. The atmosphere was a huge disappointment. I was so taken by how weird the layout was how strange the wallpaper and colors were and how it lacked any vibe at all. It had the vibe of a cheap diner. We had the fondue appetizer which was good....the vegetable assortment was disappointing as was the pork tenderloin....The glass of wine I was served looked like it was about 2 oz. of liquid.....also strange. Anyway - I hope With a little more time this place will step up to what it wants to be. I will surely be back. I like to be supportive of New endeavors!! read more
