I have waited 16 years to finally get married and was given the green light from my fiance to have the wedding of my dreams. I searched forest wedding and Twenty Mile House was the very first one that came up. I loved that it wasn't too far of a drive away, the all inclusive packages and the accomodation option to stay on site for me and 53 of our guests. We had compared prices to similar venues but found it ridiculous that for the same price, we would only have the venue, tables and chairs at the other places. So with that, Twenty Mile House became the winner. We absolutely loved the vintage cozy look of the homes, the miles and miles of forestation leading up to and within the venue, and the most amazing staff i have ever experienced with. Both Rachel and Ashliegh were absolutely amazing! They both listened and made all of my requests come true. Some had to be compromised, but it didn't change much of my vision. Our bartender Jasper was absolutely amazing and so kind. The lights, the vibe, the music, all of the vendors... they all worked together like a well oiled machine and made every wedding planning moment up to the wedding day absolutely perfect. I'm a chill bride and solely trusted the vendors and Ashliegh on their skills and talent. I'd be lying if I wasn't nervous at times, but said yes when they said "trust us". They absolutely delivered! The cake was exactly how I'd envisioned it and was so delicious, the food was a huge hit for my husband and I and our guests (I wanted to takr home the meatballs and freeze them), the DJ was perfection, the florals were immaculate (more than what i had expected), and the photographer Rachelle was sooo kind and made our little awkward selves so comfortable. We had hired a non preferred videographer for our day but both Rachelle and Ashliegh worked well with them. Thank you Twenty Mile House for making our dream wedding a reality! Super friendly and helpful service from Ashley at the front desk upon check-in. She gave me a quick but thorough lay of the extensive land and I was off. Checked out my comfortable upstairs standard king room. The Inn is just two floors, two wings, accessible via an elevator and a single tall flight of stairs from a lovely, light lounge area just off the front desk in the main lobby (and end-of-wing stairways). My room was clean, properly appointed and icy cold upon arrival. The bed was comfortable with plentiful covers and a variety of pillows, although the towels could use a refresh. I headed away from the Inn and up the hill to the two other main buildings: Altitude, the recreation center housing Middle Fork Bistro + Bar, and the Frank Lloyd Wright Lodge, hosting FIFTY44 Restaurant & Bar, spa, pro shop and nice view at the top of the mountain (5,044' elevation). While these are all connected by walking trails, I simply didn't have the time to walk there and back from the Inn, so opted to drive up the hill. Maybe my least favorite part about the property, is having to leave the premises of the Inn to take in the majority of the amenities. But they are quite nice and worth the effort of a quick drive (or maybe the longer uphill walk to reach, time permitting). After taking in the view at the top, I spent most of my time at the rec center, Altitude. This place rocks! So many fun things packed into a single wonderful space. Notably, perhaps the best stream room I've ever enjoyed, tucked into the back bath/locker/shower room. Don't miss it! Also a nice fitness room, 20-seat theater, children's room, and game room with foosball, billiards and shuffleboard, assorted Wii games and large TVs, and hang space. Board games to check out at the building's front desk. I would happily return whenever I'm in the general vicinity!

Nakoma Resort is a beautiful property, and this was not my first stay here. The setting,…read morefacilities, and overall atmosphere are wonderful, which is why my recent experience was so disappointing. We arrived at night during a power outage. There were no lights available in the building, including no visible emergency lighting, and the elevators were not working. Our room was originally on the second floor, but because I have knee problems and cannot easily use stairs, the night staff member was very kind and helped us by finding a room on the ground floor. I truly appreciated her professionalism and willingness to help during a difficult situation. What left a negative impression was the interaction at checkout the next morning. Instead of acknowledging the inconvenience caused by the power outage, I felt as though we were expected to be grateful for being placed in a different room because it happened to be one of the resort's nicer accommodations. To be clear, the room change was necessary because of the resort's power issue, not a special favor. While the property itself remains beautiful, the lack of emergency lighting and the response from the front desk the following morning raise concerns about both guest safety and customer service. Unfortunately, after this experience, I'm not sure I would choose to stay here again. If this was other hotel chain I will be even refunded because the inconveniences!!

The room had a good working AC that helped with the 80+ degree weather. There was a mini fridge and 2 twin beds upstairs along with a quiet fan. The pillows were comfortable and didn't leave me with an earache like most hotel pillows do. The blankets were cozy and clean. I was happy to see the grounds maintained so I didn't worry too much about my dog getting foxtails in his paws. The pool area is pretty dope with lots of options to sunbathe or hide in the shade. I was skeptical about noise because our room was facing the street but it was really quiet. They have a brewery with decent snack options and a pool table. Prices were reasonable and food was good! I hope to return during a cooler time of year. So beautiful and peaceful with the option of a couple of small friendly towns to explore.

We had no choice but to travel north since the freeway was closed into Reno and traffic in the north valleys was catastrophic gridlock. We had to travel north on Red Rock to 395. Through cell phone tower failure when my wife got a brief bar of reception she reached out to River Pines and Jess was amazing and was able to get us a room. We arrived there around 10:45 pm and Jess was waiting for us. The hospitality, empathy and kindness demonstrated by the owner and staff at the resort was so genuine and truly appreciated. We stayed 3 nights until we could return home once the evacuation was downgraded. Despite our circumstances the staff made our stay as pleasant as possible. My wife and I can't thank River Pines enough for being so accommodating to us. We spend a lot of time in Graeagle and the kindness shown by everyone we had contact with in the area just truly demonstrates why Graeagle is a special place.
