I have been coming to Graeagle my entire life. I have to say vey little has changed (and that's a great thing)! I love that my kids get to experience the same thing I have. The Graeagle Restaurant is run by 2 fabulous owners, and the wait staff is very good. The food is really good home cooking and the portions are huge!! I love the atmosphere as patrons are known by name and the drinks are already prepared before they sit down! They KNOW their customers, they love the campers and golfers, and I've never heard a negative word from any of them. Also, a perk, is that they give young people an opportunity to work in a restaurant with no experience and have the patience to train them. This seems like a local favorite. The service is very nice. I got the Denver omelette- it was 95% egg and 5% other (veggies, ham). I prefer 50% egg and 50% other. My fiancé got the Spanish omelette - the ratio was 70% egg and 30% other. It was better/more tasty than mine as a result. They also pre-butter your toast, which I'm not a fan of bc sometimes you don't want butter! The hash browns were very good. read more

This mainstay restaurant of downtown "old town" Graeagle is Okay but nothing special. I have come here for lunch and breakfast, but would not come for dinner. There are several other better choices for a dinner in the Graeagle-Blairsden-Plumas Pines area. From it's exterior the restaurant does have some "curb appeal" as it is in a historical log cabin style building. However, despite the log cabin exterior, the inside of the restaurant has very minimal ambiance. In fact, it is looking quite old, tired, and run down inside. The menu is fairly basic. Selections are acceptable for soup, salad or sandwich for lunch, and breakfasts are traditional. However, there are some selections that I would simply choose to avoid. 3 stars . . . A-ok . . . but leaning more towards a 2 than a 4. read more

Dear visitors: You need to know this: beware, please! The owner of this restaurant is abusive to his staff and his culinary skills are lacking. Your food will be greasy! And as a group of folks that enjoy a good time and enjoy good food at many great restaurants, his behavior on our visit was abysmal and shocking. We just want to enjoy ourselves! On our visit, the owner acting as the head cook, was shouting displeasure loud enough for us to hear in the restaurant. He was angry about having to put a "sauce on the side". His generally abusive and domineering behavior continued and could easily be heard. When I expressed displeasure with his shouting he became abusive to our group too. Wow, what a creep. I wanted to walk out but out of respect to my group and the waitress, I did not. In hindsight, I should have just left! When my meal finally came (it took a long time!) the sauce on the side was clumpy. I'm sure glad I asked that it be put on the side. The rest of the plate was a mess as the fruit juice mingled with the English muffin. The eggs were well done. The bacon was fatty and chewy. The hash browns were a plop of ... Not sure what. Cute mountain interior but horrific food and completely overpriced. So yer driving in beautiful Greagle and need some flap jacks and side o bacon to keep going. Graeagle Restaurant appears to be just the ticket - cute place nestled into the red wooden buildings, wooden porch, friendly bikers sittin on the porch - adorable. And it's breakfast for Pete's sake so what could go wrong? Plenty. The food is terrible. Which is a feat in and of itself since it's hard to screw up breakfast. But this is lousy food. My son bit into a biscuit and immediately put it back on the plate. The omelette's had the consistency of rolled up bicycle tires and my Huevos Rancheros looked bad and tasted even worse. Think I'm being mean? I love diner breakfasts and have happily eaten at many Denny's in my day. And the price? Four adults and a kid - $81 before tip. My husband and I stopped here for brunch while helping my parents move into their new vacation home in Graeagle . This was our first time eating at the Graeagle Restaurant and it DEFINITELY won't be our last! The food was excellent (albeit a tad pricey...$24 for 2 people pre-tip), and the service was great. First I have to say my waitress was very polite and nice she was busting her butt but the service was horrible due to the lack of management, they obviously need about two more workers. I never got my water and only got a refill on my coffee when I was done with my meal. The chicken fried steak was not very good, Bland and tough! read more

We went here for the wifi, but I had the chicken wings which were good. They are not spicy at all and cannot be classified as buffalo wings. They are closer to fried chicken wings with the slightest hint of spice. The service was great! One waitress, but she was super attentive and we had small water glasses, but they never went empty! She was on the ball. I enjoyed my food quite a bit, but my wife had a burger and there was a little raw meat on the outside, like it fell on the burger after it was taken off the grill. She had the chili burger which she said was ok other than the raw meet part. Also, my brother-in-law had an omelette with avocado which he said the avocado had gone bad. They were busy, but more on that later. On arrival there were no tables available. We were told to go outside and wait for a table to open up. We went out and waited all the while watching other folks walking in and never coming back out. So we looked in and saw all these folks seating and in some cases eating. So we went back in for a table and mentioned that they left us sitting out waiting for a table and the response was a look as if we were crazy. Finally a sorry I forgot was said. So we are seated and order. An omelet, a hot turkey sand and a reuben. Omelet was ok. Turkey; the actual turkey was fine, the gravy tasted like chalk which made the meal inedable; thank goodness they did not put the gravy on the French fries as requested. Reuben, once again they decided to cut the meat with the grain rendering it so tough I could not get my teeth through it. How can a person work in a kitchen in a restaurant and not know one does not cut meat with the grain? So I took a couple of bites of bread cheese and sauerkraut. The cole slaw that came with it was to bland it was not worth the effort it takes to eat it. I said nothing at the time as I was in a real pissy mood by then and I know to keep my mouth shut. Now it has been suggested that the fact it was busy was reason for forgiving. No sorry not this time. This restaurant knows it is going to be busy when they have their events in town and this particular event happens twice a year. They should have the people in place to give decent service and decent food. Being busy has nothing to do with a fool who can not cut against the grain and serve and edible sandwich or make gravy one can actually eat. One of two places open on a Tuesday. If you have a big appetite this is not the place to go. Very little hash browns and small portion of eggs also only one slice of toast. Potatoes were not good at all. Eggs and ham tasted ok but the ham dice's were tiny. My wife's bacon that she shared tasted good and was of good size but her breakfast was small and her country potatoes were very plain. They need help in cooking a descent breakfast menu. We tried for breakfast again. The menu says breakfast all day. That is a lie. The cook stops serving breakfast when he wants. Today we stopped for breakfast and we're told the cook wasn't making it. Only lunch. Since we were looking for eggs and such, we complained to the server (not her fault). They need to change the menu to reflect that breakfast is not served until they close at 2:00 Pm, when they close. We are local but will not be returning. If I could give no stars I would. I got food poisoning from this restaurant. Turkey club with fries. When I called the health inspector on them, he told me that he was good friends with the owner, and that there was no way that "those good people" would do anything negligent with their food. Basically he told me I was making it up. The head of the Washoe County ER has a different opinion, and said that my symptoms were definitely food poisoning, and from that restaurant (given that I hadn't eaten anywhere else). Another older couple came in (locals) and were immediately greeted, told the daily special ( we were not) and ordered. Needless to say, they got their food immediately, and were done by the time we got our food. They also were offered coffee several times while our coffee cups sat empty. Went to this place thinking yay, small town must have some pretty good eats. Boy were we disappointed! My husband ordered the Miners 3 egg omelette ($12.85) ham, potatoes green onions and cheddar cheese and I had the cinnamon roll, and 2 coffees. The omelette was awful. All you could taste was unseasoned egg and the diced ham was obviously processed. The miniscule amount of meat was diced very fine. I've eaten Tic Tacs that are bigger. The potatoes were shredded hash browns. All of this was put together in a fritatta style which is fine, and a piece if toast. Cinnamon roll was ok. Grand total $24.94. Way overpriced and cheap food. Absolutely terrible quality food for the price. My husband and I ordered the club, and a tuna sandwich, each came with a side of fries. The tuna sandwich was horrible. Straight from the can onto the sandwich, no seasonings etc.. had to send it back because it didn't come with any of the lettuce, tomato, cheese even MAYO I asked for when I ordered it. Husbands club was less than average. Very small portions for a 13$ sandwich... the best part of the meal was my toddlers American cheese and sourdough grilled cheese. Server didn't ever ask for our drink order either, and I overheard her complaining about "wedding season" being over and now it needs to end.. 60$!!! For all our food including a small cup of soup. After reading several reviews, we were not sure what to expect at the Graeagle, but decided to ahead and give it a try for breakfast. We were extremely disappointed. The food was overpriced and barely edible. Two of us ordered the Traditional Breakfast with eggs, sausage, hash browns, biscuit (.50 extra- really?) and a side of sausage gravy (a cup for $4.25). All four sausage patties were raw in the center, the biscuit was nothing special and the sausage gravy was the absolute worse we have ever had. The total bill for breakfast was $73 for four people!! The other two in our party had basic omelets. The service was just okay. It is really upsetting when a waitress is in such a hurry she becomes unfriendly and disconnected from the people she is serving. read more

We stopped for first meal at Graeagle Restaurant this morning. We both ordered bacon/cheese/avocado omelettes. I also ordered EXTRA CRISPY hash browns ("almost burned beyond recognition" was my amplifying comment). There was no bacon in either omelette, instead there was diced ham and the hash browns were just lightly browned......clearly no extra cooking time despite my request. Clearly the chef pays no regard to customer requests and even little regard to what's on the menu. On a positive note the waitress was pleasant and apologetic and the place was clean and attractively decorated in local decor. My recommendation "If you can't change the chef.......then change the chef". read more

The food is pretty good, bar style food with burgers sandwiches and salads plus a great breakfast menu. What really sets this place apart is the outstanding service. The 2 gals serving us today were friendly and attentive, even with a full restaurant of patrons. Nice job! read more

stopped here for breakfast on one of those off the beaten path choices, and it was packed so grabbed a seat at the counter. my better half ordered a pancake sandwich, and i ordered a chic fried steak, for her the sausage patty was rare..but the server said oh thats a pink preservative added for flavor? didnt buy that one, got bacon instead.. on my meal the steak was a bit tough and got only a scoop of gravy.. you add a couple of coffee's and your walking out for over 30 mule deers!! and that is for two specials!! read more
