Graeter's is Classic yet creative ice cream. I love that they expanded to Indiana to share the Cincy tradition. It's one of my favorite ice cream shops in the whole country and now it's in my backyard. The black raspberry chocolate chip is their signature flavor which is a must try but they are always coming out with new seasonal flavors that are equally delicious. I recently had the maple cinnamon crunch and it tasted like captain crunch cereal and with extra sweetness. It was magical and I didn't share with my husband because it was that good! They have also ice cream sandwiches and chocolate candy but haven't had the chance to try those yet. Graeter's is THE BEST ice cream in Indy, no competition. I grew up in Cincinnati eating Graeter's for a treat when we were good. Their signature black raspberry chocolate chip is to die for. But any of the chocolate chip flavors are amazing. I get coconut chip or coffee chip.l occasionally. Calling it a chocolate chip is an understatement though, these flavors have CHUNKS of dark chocolate. One knock is that I got the black raspberry chip cake to try with some friends, and it was ok. Not great. Especially for the price (it was quite expensive). Maybe will try the pie instead next time. Some of the Ohio locations started putting in bakeries. Wish we had those here! read more

It's on the rich side, so I would recommend getting one scope of ice cream if you are getting it for one. -Black raspberry chocolate chip - very unique flavor, taste good alone and with a sundae. -chocolate brownie ice cream - rich, not too sweet and soft brownie pieces. -Birthday cake - this was my favorite to get it scoped, not from a pint. It has actual cake pieces, which was great! Customer Service: -Nice staff, they give you recommendations if you don't know what to get. Ambience: -Decent size shop with plenty of seating inside. There are a few tables and benches outside. The fountain is a nice touch. The store is in midtown/Carmel city center, so is plenty of places to walk to after you grab some ice cream. Graeter's is almost too good. Ruins all other ice creams ... so much better. Any flavor is great. Anything with chocolate 'chips' (chunks) in it is amazing, but even their vanilla is outstanding. I like Buckeye (peanut butter & choc) or raspberry choc chip (Oprah's fav). Service is always good. It's nice you can just grab a pint & pay or have a cupful or cone. They also sell pints in Kroger & other groceries but my family thinks it tastes better from the ice cream parlor :) Gift cards from Graeter's are a good gift to anyone of any age. Based out of Ohio, Graeter's used to be such a special treat if we were traveling through Ohio. Now that it's easily accessible to us locally it's still just as special. Definitely worth the stop. The perfect spot to grab some ice cream in the summertime. It's near a lot of stuff in the Carmel City Center. They always have a great selection of unique flavors such as the Bourbon Pecan Chocolate Chip, my favorite. You can also choose from sugar cones, waffle cones, chocolate dipped cones and even sprinkle-covered-chocolate-dipped cones! Their ice cream is VERY creamy, and it's made from fresh local eggs. Great quality ice cream! I got the mint cookies and cream and my friend tried the strawberry ice cream. We both enjoyed our ice creams. We got a single scoop, and the portion size was pretty generous. It's kind of pricey but I think it's worth it. Also the service wasn't the best, but could be because I showed up near closing time. The goodness of Graeter's in Carmel - yeah! I feel like we don't have many ice cream shops in this neck of the woods. Once I discovered it was National Ice Cream Day (July 17), I made a beeline to Graeter's. I had never had a banana split in my entire life (talk about missing out) so this trip, my family and I split one (ha). A fresh cut banana with your choice of two ice cream flavors (salted caramel and chocolate chip for us) and two toppings (hot fudge and butterscotch) with nuts, whipped cream and a cherry on top. Even though we were splitting it three ways, it still felt gluttonous. Bring a pal or two if you're going for a big sundae! Service was friendly, but I needed to repeat my custom options a few times to the young lady working. Also, the layout of this store is more awkward and less charming than the 56/Illinois location. It seems there is more seating, but it's extra cramped by the counter. I was unclear where the line started and which register we were to pay at. read more

This is a spot we've been to before over the summer. We got the Cookie Monster sundae and it was really good! This time though we each got our own separate scoops. Dalton got the buckeye chocolate chip which he really enjoyed! I had a bite and I really liked the peanut butter and chocolate flavor as well. I had the bourbon chocolate chip ice cream, and I definitely liked it. I've never had bourbon, but the ice cream had a strong flavor of what I'm guessing was the bourbon! It took me a few bites to get used to it, but once I did I enjoyed it. The actual shop is really nice inside, with cartons of ice cream you can buy. There is also souvenirs to buy inside as well. They have so many different flavors that it was hard to choose, but luckily we were able to try a few before deciding. Their seasonal flavors were really good (pumpkin and cinnamon)! This is definitely a spot we enjoy and will probably try again sometime. read more

Delicious ice cream! It's always good and everyone working is always friendly! They have some pretty late hours in the summer, which is great for late night ice cream needs! My favorite is still the coconut chocolate chip. It's just like an Almond Joy. The bourbon was also really good! I also like they have seasonal flavors. The peach was amazing! It was perfect for summer. Make sure you get a rewards card and use it, or give your phone number to stack up points. You also get a free dessert on your birthday! We were so happy to see Graeter's in Carmel. This store is much closer to us than the others. I had the cherry chocolate ice cream, my boyfriend had a scoop of chocolate chip coconut and a scoop of their signature raspberry chocolate. I think Graeter's has THE best ice cream. My summers as a child were always filled with taking trips to Ohio, and the trip east was never complete without stopping at Graeter's. But even with the nostalgia aside Graeter's is my favorite place to get ice cream. They're known for the black raspberry chocolate chip but you can't go wrong with any of the flavors. They are all so creamy and the flavors are real, not too artificially sweet. My favorite part is the chocolate chunks, I'm pretty sure they're made by pouring liquid dark chocolate into a cooler milk and then broken up, because no two pieces are the same and some chunks are huge. It's definitely on the pricier side but I think everybody should try the ice cream Oprah used to have flown to Chicago from Ohio at least once! read more

Well. This place is GREAT (yes I had to go there). This Ohio based ice cream shop sure does well in the Butler Tarkington area. No matter what during the summer this place is packed. I've gone a handful of times (as i live dangerously close) and every time I am full and happy and pleased with the freshness and quality of the ice cream. They have many "chip" options which I enjoy, handmade cones (the chocolate and sprinkle dipped one is my favorite), a case full of cakes (tip: you can call ahead and reserve!) and ever pup cups. My little guy devoured his! It's a small amount of seating inside and out but nothing too bad. They also have other retail available (random candy and ice cream by the pint). All in all, I'm glad I live close and also I have to toe a fine line to not over do it! read more

Service was rude and bad. I've always loved Graeters and have had experiences each time with the most amazing and welcoming guys each time I've come (busy or not). It is Saturday and my family and I were the only ones in line. We went to the register browsing the menu only to get stared at by employee Hannah and her friend. A guy, already in the process of helping someone else was kind enough to walk over and ask what we would like and if we needed help meanwhile the girls our pointing at my dad whispering that he hasn't made up his mind yet. I'm not against Graeters but if you're going to hire high school employees, maybe teach them how to be welcoming and act professional or at least teach them how to whisper in secret. The shop itself is really cute inside and clean. The staff was also kind and very quick. Was slightly disappointed with the amount of ice cream one scoop is compared to the price. So after my family and I enjoyed having dinner at Bub's burgers and ice cream we weren't able to try the ice cream as they closed before we finished our dinner. So I got on the yelp app and looked up to see what other ice cream places were around the area, I DID NOT know there was a Graeter's here in Indy!!!! I love Graeter's, I almost always have to have it when going to Cincinnati for a Reds game! I ordered a dish double scoop of S'mores it was awesome, I like how Graeter's will give you a tiny sample to try to see if you like it or not. My son got the dark chocolate brownie, he loved it and my daughter got cotton candy, she ate it up quickly! The staff were all very nice, didn't rush us at all, I really like that because there's so many flavors to choose from, you don't need some teenager rushing you like they hate their job and trying to get you out of there. As I said, they all were great! Even kept up on the cleanliness of the ice cream parlor as it looked nice in there. If you love Graeter's as much as I do and didn't know we had one here in Indy, well I highly recommend getting your butt up there in the Carmel area and get you some great tasty ice cream! read more

Good ice cream, suuuupppeeerrr busy! I went here for the first time this week and was in shock of how crazy busy it was. The line wrapped through the store all the way up to the back entrance. They also have a freezer with ice cream you can buy and people were going there and then cutting the line. It was just a bit chaotic for my taste and on a Wednesday evening too. But the workers were very nice and tried to be as speedy as possible so props to them! The ice cream itself was awesome! One scoop is like the same as a large I feel like. I was in shock when I got my waffle cone and was like woaah, soo definitely worth the money. I tried the peach ice cream Which is seasonal but it was real peaches in it and was very fresh. So I would recommend this place for ice cream but just go prepared for a possible crowd but it is worth the wait! read more
