As always love the atmosphere. Service was attentive but not intrusive. Brussels sprouts were good as long as you squeeze all of the oil/grease off of them. The brunch tostadas are nothing to rave about. The flavors are amazing, but the pork is tough, not tender. The Bloody Mary is good and the house margarita with Black Sea salt is amazing.

My friends and I visited before a stand up night at the Rino Theater next door and it was a perfect stop! Plan to wait a little for drinks due to a solo bartender, but it's worth the wait. My drink, the Hola Hola Back Girl- was very unique- Jamaican Rum (1 1/2 oz) + Overproof Rum (¾ oz) + Mango Liqueur (¾ oz) + Pandan Liqueur (1 oz) + Ube Cream Liqueur (1 oz) + Lime Juice ( 1/2 oz)- I could taste the notes of all! Producing great tasting, low fluff, minimal garnish drinks is their speciality and the bartender was incredibly knowledgeable. A great stop to upgrade your liquor/cocktail knowledge and try something completely new!

The ambience is clean neat and not over crowded considering it is a bar in a liquor store. When I say liquor store I mean they carry mid to high end liquor with the unique ingredients that make your cocktail a tasteful event. You definitely will not find anything basic here. If you are a big mixology fan this is your place to taste something unique and different and the best part is the ingredients are on their shelf to buy. We sampled the fall menu with our group of 4 each ordering two different drinks each and sharing to taste. The bartender (so sorry I forgot his name) was very friendly, knowledgeable and engaging with us. Just a side note- they don't serve food however two tables bright food in so that is a great option. If you are looking for a different option and experience this is definitely a place to check out. Note- they will be changing to their winter cocktail menu soon. They will be featuring "warm drinks ". If warm drinks are not your thing there is always the basic drink options as well. I love tasting so I and absolutely coming back to try the Winter menu. For those interested in Amaro liquor the serve flights so you can truly get the scope and find your preferred flavor profiles. They are not on the menu but you only need to ask the bartender and they will help set you on your journey. Last note- the prices are mid range better than most for a great cocktail. Cheers!

The owners Shriti and Paul were most welcoming, while spending a lot of time with our small group guiding us through the menu, offering suggestions and giving us a lesson on the their business, their challenges and goals. Their customer service skills and passion for their craft was impressive and addictive. I enjoyed a white wine Sangria, Pineaapple Mimosa and a pour of their Golden Rum. The former Mockingbird (aka The View for us "old-timers") has been reimagined into one of the highest quality tiki bars I have ever experienced. Roxy was delighful and crafted fabulous drinks and stories. The seasonal menu changes every few months and current highlights include the "Better to Sea You With" and "Chai and Mighty". The "Zombie " was potent and "Morning Wench" with rum creme, spiced rum, black coffee liquor and cinnamon is the BEST "espresso" without espresso martini I have ever had! I stopped in here for a springtime patio meet up with friends and was not let down. The cocktails are some of the best tiki inspired drinks in town, and they have a great happy hour to boot. I ordered a $4 "mystery beer" and received the best bargain of the week -a 20 oz can of Kolsch from Grandview's Transparent Brewery. I then had a perfect little margarita. Staff - I interacted with 2 bartenders - one was above average, and the main one was nailing the customer service! Pleasant, informational and proud of his workspace and product line. Activities - EVERY type of old school bar game is here - pool, foosball, air hockey, shuffleboard, cornhole, pop-a-shot, darts, skeeball, and plenty of tabletop games...and they are all free! With a nod to the National Parks in decor and actually donating a small part of the profits to assist our nation's treasures in this new era of asinine budget cuts and selling off of public lands - I'm proud to support local, have fun and assist the cause. Our group of 5 had a blast. Five stars on every single measurable category.

When we arrived, it was a little quiet, so we sat at the bar. The two bartenders working were welcoming. One of them asked if we were there to eat, handed us menus, and then let us know what wasn't in stock. It was a little weird that they were out of chicken quarters, pasta salad (or was it potato?), burgers (maybe that's a testament to their popularity), and bacon... Thankfully, the mac & cheese was available, so the mission wasn't a fail. The plus was that it came with a side of fries, and not just any-- they were seasoned sidewinder fries, for those of you who are fans of thicker potatoes. I had the Italian po-boy, which I really enjoyed. I thought they constructed it well, and the spicy relish wasn't too much heat if you're worried about that. It was definitely the right amount of food, too. I was able to clean the plate and not regret the last bite. At this point, they've been open for 8 months, so I think they've worked out the kinks, but we also showed up on a Wednesday night, so service was great and attentive. It might be different on weekends, but I'd come back to try more things on the food menu.

Sort of an odd vibe the day I was there but could've been just that day. I was with a larger group so it was probably complicated but any time someone would order a drink a new bartender would come over looking around confused like no one could communicate to them who ordered what. They have a lot of different cocktails but no gin ones? Thought this was weird. The beer isn't listed on a menu. You have to go look at the wall behind the bar. Maybe the beers are all rotating? I wasn't sure. The food was the unfortunate downfall. I got the fish and chips. The fries were fine but the fish was a... shape. As in it was for sure frozen and flavorless. I think maybe just skip serving stuff like this and do more of a beer hall thing. I'm sure they're trying to appeal to a lot of people but because it's very much a bar vibe maybe just stick to burgers and wings? I'm also wondering if it just wasn't my vibe. So much like this already exists and there's nothing unique bringing me here.

So I'll say that the Double Smash Burger is a three out of five from a standpoint of how much food you get. Definitely gives you the quantity of food, but from a quality standpoint, the bun didn't really speak to me. The seasoning of the burger didn't really speak to me, nor did the sauce on it. It was okay, it was just okay from that standpoint. So when you talk about the fries, I also say that it's a three out of five. The sauce is good. The crunch of the waffle fry is there. They're not overcooked or undercooked or anything like that, but they just don't give, oh my God, if you will. The chopped up smash burger isn't really chopped up as much as you would think. It's more of a patty with a couple chops where it needed to be more thoroughly chopped and spread across, if you will. It's definitely filling. They do not skimp you when it comes down to the quantity of food, but the quality of the flavor just doesn't make me say, "Heck yeah, I want to order that again." The experience, the area, the seating, the atmosphere, the live music, all of that is absolutely there. You can't take that away from the location. From a standpoint, if I have to run and tell everybody to try this food, that just wasn't there, and the prices weren't ridiculous either. I'm not going to say that they knock you over the head for the amount of food or for the food itself, but that's my experience. If you've never been here, you should definitely go check out the live music and check out the space. It's definitely a fun place to be out in the open, breathing clean air. Give it a try.
