This is easily the best pizza we've had in San Antonio -- better than Lovers, Florio's, Cabo's, Sofia, and the rest. We ordered the Margherita, Supreme, Meat, and Cheese pizzas, all with a perfectly crisp crust and zero flop. Fresh, flavorful ingredients and great balance on every pie. The garlic knots and meatballs were excellent starters, and the cannolis and Italian ice were a great finish. Service was friendly and attentive, the owner came out to chat with us (a great personal touch), and the dining area is spacious with plenty of booths. Came in one evening with the family to try out Grampies. We ordered the Bacon Cheeseburger pizza, half with tomato sauce and have with mustard. Staff was friendly and provided us the recommendation on the sauce. The pizza took a bit to come out but it was prepared fresh. The pizza was quite large and reminded us of NY Pizza. We drive by this place often when visiting our friends and decided to give it a try. We were stunned to see how big the restaurant was inside. They put out a coupon at HEB and then dont ever answer the phone. You cant use it online and they wont do a credit. So its not really s coupon but advertising. Last time we vist them. Glad this town is growing. The pizza was burnt and greasy. New york should have char and little black spots crispy, not burnt and hard. First time dining in here. Normally we grab and go. I'm so glad we chose to dine in. Such an awesome place, from the food to the amazing people who own it, the service was exceptional. So my husband got the 14 inch (BCB) Bacon Cheeseburger pizza. It was definitely a new way to eat a pie. The base was mustard, and it had jack and cheddar cheese, beef crumble, bacon and pickles. It absolutely SLAPS! I had a calzone with ricotta cheese and mozzarella with fresh cut mushrooms. We also had a side cheese bread. All of our food hit the spot, followed by a nap afterward. All the food was good and fresh. We got the Pepperoni Rolls, Garlic Butter Breadsticks, and a 20" 1/2 Pepperoni 1/2 Cheese Pizza. All good food, we had no leftovers! Pizza is thin (New York Style), so if you have a big appetite order more! Cashier was nice and friendly, and the food came out pretty quick. The ice there is chewable ice (just another thing to like about this place). It was pretty busy the night we came, because there was a fundraiser, so we were lucky to be able to get a seat. Ordered a plain cheese 20" early afternoon. When I picked it up the gentleman opened the box and asked how it looked. It looked fine on top but I should have looked at the bottom. It was scorched. Hate to think they took one of the by the slice pies and reheated it but that seems to be a real possibility. Took a bite and it didn't taste fresh either. Had to toss it. This is more true when you get delivery. I chose Grampie's as they appeared to offer a chance of a decent pie and I like thin crust. I was pleasantly surprised to receive very good pizza and salad. The pizza was proper thin crust with a distinctive sauce and generous cheese. The family salad is large and I love they include 4 different dressings. We've been hearing good things and decided to see if the place lived up to the hype - it does! We tried the pepperoni rolls and they were spot on. The dough is a true New York dough and the inside was great. We decided to try two pizzas - eat some in and take the rest home. We tried the BCB - bacon cheeseburger - it was great. When it came out with sliced hamburger dill pickles on it I was a bit skeptical - but the flavors are superb together. Great pizza. There was no sauce but there was something on the crust - whatever it was - worked! We also ordered my tried and true - pepperoni, black olives and jalapeño pizza. Everything was great. The New York style crust takes a really good pizza and makes it great! They have a pretty big menu - calzones, salads, a million varieties of pizza from simple to gourmet - can't wait to come back and try. We've had a 'favorite' pizza joint that we've gone to for years - and they've just been replaced. The fact that they have cannolis - big bonus! The cannolis were by far the best I've had outside of NYC or Boston. Great texture - a hint of cinnamon and nutmeg and the filling uses marscapone cheese instead of ricotta - and it's perfect. The staff was plentiful and friendly and the wait for the pizza was not bad at all - actually considering it was at 6:00 pm on a Friday night, it came out really quickly. Another nice perk - they give a military discount. Oh, and one of the owners stopped at our table to see how the food was. Rarely does the restaurant live up to the hype - this place does! read more

Ordered a pizza online for my family's Pizza Fridays. We've heard a lot of buzz about Grampie's on Facebook and had to try it. Grampie's is priced pretty well compared to other local pizza places and the pizza taste so much better than most pizza places as well. I was able to order my pizza with toppings on only half the pizza differently from the other half so that everyone got what they wanted. Also, so random, but this is one of very few pizza places that actually had red onions as a topping! So hard to find and very appreciated. When I walked up to the counter, my pizza was ready to go right on time and I was able to walk right out with no issue. Got home to a warm pizza with red crushed pepper and Parmesan on the side and my family loved it. Had the opportunity to come here for their grand opening. The place is spacious and clean. The main menu is on a split screen but the pizza menu is displayed on the front counter, separately from the screen, which I found odd since, I stared at the big screen looking for the pizza choices. I ordered a cauliflower Hawaiian pizza. As I waited for about 10 to 15 minutes, I could hear the young employees and the manager talking and figuring out what order was to go and which one was to be consumed inside. My pizza was placed in a dine-in big plate but then realized that it was to go and placed it in a box and handed it to. I was very excited to try their cauliflower Hawaiian pizza. When I got home and open the box, I saw onions in my pizza! And then I also noticed that the pineapples were cut super big and only one piece of big pineapple per slice. Instead of taking it back, I removed the onions and the big cut pineapples. I ended up basically eating a pepperoni pizza. I gave them 3 of 4 stars because it was their opening and first day (things can always go wrong on a grand opening). I will try them again but after a few months have passed! read more

Great food and service! We have only been here twice, and there was a good amount of time between the two visits. The first time, the woman at the counter was very helpful with answering questions about the pizzas and patient while we decided what we wanted. The second time, she remembered us and what we had ordered the last time! We have tried the Grande Capo pizza, the Grampie's salad, the Caprese salad, and the breadsticks. We have ordered here twice for our pizza night and I have to say the pizza is delicious! Thin New York style crust with plenty of cheese and toppings. The first time we got a half margarita and half with all the meats. This time we got the grande capo and it comes with pineapples and Italian meats. Service is always great and inviting! They even gave my husband a free drink because the order wasn't ready when he got there and had to wait a few minutes which they obviously didn't have to do but they did and it was a positive note in his book. I read about this place on Yelp. The website says they use "NY" water. I had to try a slice for myself. The first bite immediately took me back to my favorite pizza joint in Brooklyn where I grew up. The crust is thin and airy with a bit of crunch you look for in NY pizza. The sauce and cheese were just right and rounded off with flavorful pepperoni. I ordered a whole pie after that to share. The staff is is friendly and accommodating. I loved talking to one of the owners, Aaron, about his story. Co-owner Kristen popped out for a second and took the time to say," Hello", although she was super busy. Her cannoli recipe is awesome. Wasn't sure what to expect, but it tastes just like a burger and much more. We were served quickly and by a very professional staff. The owner came out and greeted us and spoke to us, which was very much appreciated. This is where that personal touch comes into play. This is definitely a place you can either come by yourself or family and friends. Order a slice to go...sit in and enjoy the whole pie with music in the background or watch some TV. Very happy with Grampie's Pizzeria in Cibolo, TX. The specials (which you can get all day, even on weekends) are very reasonable. The two slice special and calzone special are both delicious and come with a drink. The pizza is crispy on the bottom, not too thick, not too thin. They DO have anchovies! The calzone was a bit different as it had mozzarella, but not ricotta, but lots of meat and very good overall. We also got the homemade meatballs for an appetizer and those were mouth-watering. Got some of their homemade cannoli to go also and watched them make them fresh for us (those will be eaten tonight). Altogether, an excellent neighborhood pizzeria with high quality, reasonable prices, and friendly staff (and the owner came over and welcomed us and chatted with us). Fiance and I wanted to try this place out as we're tired of the usual Dominos/Papa John's pizza variety. This place is new and looked really good based on the few pictures/reviews available at the time. The menu looked good, seems like a good variety of pizza, salads, calzones and starters to choose from. Sit down or take out options available. Pizzas come in 14" or 20" inch sizes so they are not small by any means. We decided to get the pepperoni rolls for a starter and for pizza we got a 14" of the Grampie's Favorite and Mama Mia. To be honest the starter was really tasty but disappointing that you only got 4 little pieces, especially considering it was over $6 for them. We expected them to be much bigger for that price. Would be nice it they either made them bigger, like a bread roll size, or increased the amount you get for that price up to 6 rolls maybe. The pizzas themselves were really good, especially the crust, which was crunchy and flakey at the edges. The toppings were really fresh, very flavorful and there was lots of them! Prices felt a liiiitle bit high; the 2 pizzas, 2 drinks and 1 starter cost us about $70 after tax. Definitely more expensive than the usual options so be prepared for that if you're going in with a large group. But the pizzas are pretty large and one 14" could probably feed a family of 4 anyway. We left with almost another whole pizzas worth of leftovers! But just as a tip for the owners to consider, you're only 15 minutes away from a Costco where ppl can get an 18" pizza for $10. Something to think about if you decide to reconsider your prices a bit . Otherwise it was a great experience and we'll probably be back in the future! read more
