My son and I attended his cousin's birthday party recently. I completely forget that this family center is here. I was bummed we got here later than expected and weren't able to do the carousel. It's been years since I visited! We were given a preloaded card and got to play for a consecutive two hours. I just wish I would have known that the kids don't acrrue tickets on the birthday packages. We did however enjoy ourselves and look forward to coming back. There were a few games that should have been marked, " out of order". The party room was a decent size with plenty of seating for everyone to sit and eat pizza and enjoy cake. We had a great time and the staff was awesome. I spent a lot of time growing up nearby as my best friends lived in Verdi and I grew up in NW Reno. I can't believe the last time I was in was with a group of friends while we were still in school. I'm glad to see this place is still here. We'll have to make more trips out this way in the future. The fun center is the best bang for your buck for a birthday party! Booking is super simple and online. It lays out all the packages and pricing. Then you pick your day and time and book. The party room is huge!!! Plenty of room for guests, gifts, and food! They provide table cloths, plates, and utensils and try to match whatever your theme is. We got the biggest package which included 6 pizzas, 25 wings, and 25 chicken tenders with unlimited drinks. I thought that was a great deal!! Our party host was Dawson and he was the best!!! Any issue we had, he took care of immediately. He brought out the food when we wanted it out & kept the beverage pitchers full. We loved Dawson!! What a great place in West Reno. My family was staying in Truckee and wanted something to do after hours that wasn't too far away. This place was only about a 25-minute drive. Located in Boomtown and connected to a casino and restaurant, this was a great place to kill some time, both for adults and kids alike. There are tons of arcade games to choose from as well as rides you can go on. You can purchase a preloaded game card with some options that will give you extra credits for free. You can also purchase a pass that will give you unlimited rides, or you can purchase the rides a la carte. Some of the rides have a height requirement so be aware of that. The digital menu that lists all the different options switches back and forth between different views super quickly so it was a little hard to figure out exactly what was offered - it would have been better if they had a static menu to look at. My family had a good time playing for tickets that we could exchange for prizes afterward. If you need a snack halfway through, they sell hot popcorn at the concession stand. There was only 1-2 staff members available which means that if you do want to go on any of the rides, you have to go find someone to come over to operate the ride for you which can take a little bit of time. read more

We had our son's 6th birthday party here and it was a blast. The packages are pretty reasonable for what they offer and the party rooms are a great touch, and it doesn't hurt the food isn't awful by adult standards either. My four stars are based on the fun center itself and how much the kids got from the experience, but if I'm honest, the service on day of was mediocre at best and pretty disappointing. The fun center is clean, offers a lot of variety, and even includes several attractions and VR experiences too. With the birthday package the guests got 90 minutes of unlimited play (some limitations) and attractions, as well as mini golf, and they loved every minute. Seeing the kids safely playing independently, enjoying the rides, and having a blast made me smile from ear to ear, especially when they asked me to join in. Lots of fun was had. The party room we had was very large with big tables for gifts, party favors and cake, and another just for the food and drinks. The room was Boomtown themed too, which added to the fun. Pizzas and wings were much better than you'd expect and it looked like everyone enjoyed it quite a bit. The service - Booking the party was a breeze and the communication up to the day of was good, but the morning of the party we realized no one asked how we wanted to structure the party, so with a 1pm start we discussed and decided we'd like to have lunch and cake first, then unleash the kids on the arcade. There were lots of reasons for this timing, but the biggest was allowing them to play uninterrupted and avoid the hassle of wrangling them back in. So we arrived 30 minutes early to talk to our party host about this and initially she said there was no way to adjust at this point. I pointed out the time and then she got me the manager, Kyle I believe, who told me it wasn't possible because he didn't have a way to communicate with the kitchen. I pointed out the time to him and asked if he could walk over to the kitchen and ask them, and he actually said that was a great idea and begrudgingly went to ask about moving our order up. When he came back he said they were able to do it but couldn't guarantee it would arrive right at 1pm when the party started, and I said that was fine and added I'd appreciate if he could try to be as close to 1pm as possible. He snapped back with "it'll depend how many food runners are available" and I said I'd happily be an extra hand to carry back the pizza boxes. He didn't like that offer much but eventually he made it happen. Lastly, the party host knew the timeline had changed but didn't get the drinks ready to match up with it, so when the food arrived, we had kids looking for drinks and they all had to wait. Saying "let me see what I can do" goes a long way and all we heard was no, which was very upsetting and not what I expected. The requests made were reasonable and easily accommodated, so there shouldn't have been any issues, and the entire situation is also easily avoidable simply by asking the parents when they'd like to serve food. All in all, I'd still host another party here. It was a great time for everyone. read more

We stayed at the KOA across the street and were happy to try out this place for our teens. There were many different video games available to play, and most of them seemed to be working correctly. The mini golf was fun, but kind of dilapidated. It looked like there was a water feature in it that they just drained and kept that way, and some of the decorations were kind of falling apart and looked old. The carousel was very pretty, and although my kids didn't want to go on it, I did see some little kids enjoy it. Compared to our video game place back home, most of these games seemed rigged because they hardly gave out any tickets, and it was probably impossible to win them. One example was the duck machine where the claw didn't close until it was way up above where any of the ducks were. This was very disappointing for my son because we have one near our house that lets you play until you win. I didn't see any people win in any of the other claw machines either which leads me to think that they are all rigged and probably impossible to win. The prices for the food at this place were OK, and we got a big bucket of popcorn for six dollars. The prizes were really cheap ones like from a dollar store and it seemed like you would have to get a lot of tickets to get anything that was even remotely useful or worth anything. All in all it was a fun place for my kids to go for a few hours, but wouldn't be worth the price to go here more often. My teens spent $40 with $10 free each in a few hours with only around 900 tickets won total. read more

It was an affordable, fun evening with laughs and my only suggestion for them is to replace the burnt out lights on the mini golf course. Most games were $1.00, $1.25, $1.50, some even 25¢ per play. I recently booked a party for my kids here at the Fun Center, and they had a blast, I bought the Max Package which as advertised includes, Unlimited one day use of the Max Flight, carousel, Mini golf, bounce house and rodeo rider, and a $5.00 game card. Comes with 4 pizzas, drinks, themed place settings a party coach, 60 seconds in the wind machine and party bags for each kids. PROS: Kids had a lot of fun, pizza was decent, and party coach was nice. We had the party room to ourselves which was nice. The place wasn't too crowded and it was pretty clean. CONS: The Carousel was broken, so they gave us an extra $5 bucks on the game card, not a bad trade off. We didn't receive Party Bags for each kid, and the wind machine was broken. My oldest son was told he had to use his game card to ride the Max flight witch was wrong because I bought the unlimited package. There seems to be a lot of disorganization and confusion from the staff on what we pay for in our package. I booked my son's birthday party here. The place is a blast for kids! There are fun rides like the carousel, Ferris wheel, and 4D motion picture rides for the bigger kids. There are plenty of arcade games to play as well. The party room was located by the motion picture ride and fairly private with the exception of tweens waiting to enter the ride in front of the room. It was large enough for our party guests and we loved the fact that they provide the plates, table cloths and utensils. Included in our package were pizzas, sodas, and game cards for 2 hours of free play. They also got wrist bands for unlimited rides. Our host was very sweet, made sure our pitchers were always refilled and checked on us periodically during the party to see if we needed anything. Made things easier for me to have a point person. The pizza was ok, the chicken tenders were over cooked and the wings weren't anything special. But the food was fine for a kids party and everyone left with full bellies. I have great respect for all the staff working here, especially dealing with kids all day and back-to-back kids' parties. My son met some really nice boys who were having a birthday party and offered him a wristband to join them on the rides (unlimited). The staff managed to keep this place super clean and kept the snack bar running efficiently. Staff were upbeat and friendly while operating the rides. Their manager Travis D. is a great boss, as he leads by example. He came out to assist his staff with the register and cleanup. Kudos to Management for empowering their employees and recognizing their efforts. It's a "thankless" job working in this kind of environment, and most of the time, teenagers working at amusements parks or fun centers show their lack of enthusiasm. This place isn't what it used to be. My daughter won a price on the giant claw machine, but it got stuck. I asked 2 attendants on two separate occasions to help us. No one helped us they just pretended they were getting someone. After 20 Minutes I decided to ask again, Carlos didn't hesitate to help us. I'm glad at least one person cares about his job. Carousel, ferris wheeler, bounce house, mini golf, and an abundance of arcade games makes this place a strong contender to be favorite outing for most kids. Throw in an unlimited ride wrist band for just $10, reasonable prices on the arcade games, and friendly staff, and this Mom & Dad jump on the "this place is AWESOME" bandwagon quite happily. The Family Fun Center at Boomtown has become a favorite in our family for both one-on-one outings with The Boy and a few hours of budge friendly silly, old-fashioned fun for the whole family. The one thing that brings my rating down to 4 stars is that there is sometimes a long wait for rides. Not because of lines, but because there isn't sufficient staff available for all o the rides. It's not uncommon to have to track someone down to ask them to come to the ride. That said, we intentionally visit on evenings and weekdays when the place isn't busy with birthday parties, so that may be different on weekends. read more

Either one last place for the kids to play at before the trek home or the first spot to stop and en route up to Reno. You get a bonus for buying the game cards when you spend $20. $20 for $25 Or $50 for $60 play credit It was not too crowded the last two times I was there. The indoor bowling game is fun. Their claw games range from 50c to $3. Those are mostly hit or miss with more misses. The video game selection is decent and there's enough "ticket" games to keep the kids entertained. There is an indoor miniature golf for a few bucks. It was a good way to burn 20 minutes. One hand sanitizer dispenser located near the prize booth. If empty, ask an attendant to refill it. They replaced it with a new pouch within 5 minutes of me asking. Overall the staff were friendly and helpful. The place is relatively clean. We no longer go to Circus Circus because we enjoy the Boomtown Fun Center so much more! One negative: The basketballs in the toddler section are deflated and difficult to grab. In the "older kid" challenge basketball game, the balls are so worn that they are slippery. read more

This place has sadly went SO downhill and continues on that path. Back in the late 90s and early 00s, guests were greeted by a larger than life wild west animatronic lady at the entrance who told jokes and made us laugh. Waddles Steak and Dinner House offered up some of the BEST steaks and prime rib in the west, and people traveled miles to dine there. And the Silver Screen Smorgasbord, surrounded by large rock formations, a wild west fence and style with its all you can eat seafood on weekends, not the teeny tiny overcooked lobsters that the plain 'Buffet' offers now. They also had a state of the art motion theatre in the fun center for the kids with five rotating offering that would keep them busy for hours. All of that is GONE in the name of corporate greed and profit. I remember kids having a blast in the fun center here years ago, and not having to spend an arm and a leg since the wristbands included all the rides. And they loved the wild west atmosphere throughout, not the boring 'modern' facility this place has become. When the truckers had to use their provided shower token and show a receipt before they could hop on the complimentary Boomtown Stagecoach to get to the casino... those were the days! And there was another ole' Stagecoach that would give you a ride every hour to the National Bowling Stadium in downtown Reno. What happened to the wild west theme? And the employees dressed in cowboy boots and wide brimmed hats? This place is trying to be everything the other casinos are now but just falls flat, and falls short, much like the glorified motel 6 'Best Western' brand they adopted to take over their hotel. We haven't been to Boomtown in years. We went this weekend for a kids birthday party and had a great time. The rides and games were petty neat. It would have been nice to see less of the games "temporarily unavailable" or out of service, and have attendants at the rides so they didn't look closed. But my 1 and 3 year old had a great time. We will probably consider coming here for birthday parties in the future. They have a few party rooms and they are great for getting everyone together and enjoying the birthday festivities. The staff was really nice accommodating. There's a bounce house, Ferris wheel, carousel, and a little mini golf course, and a ride. Then arcade games for all ages. The wrist bands you get for the birthday party are good for the kids for the whole day, so you don't have to leave right away after the party is over. The kids played until they were worn out. Had my kid's birthday party here. Out of all the places we have had birthday's, so far this place is really the best bang for your buck! For $125 we got 6 pizzas, unlimited soda, a $5 game card for each child, a wristband for each child for unlimited rides, a giant party room that we had all to ourselves for an hour and a half, and an awesome party host named Estrella! Our host make sure that everything was 100% completely taken care of from the time we walked in until the time we left. She went above and beyond and displayed excellent customer service skills. It was because of her that our party went smoothly. We definitely didn't spend much time in the party room because most of the time the kids wanted to go and play. But the time we did spend in there went smoothly. We had so much fun, that since it was my daughter's birthday that we decided to stay and hang out for a couple of hours after the party and let her play more games and ride more rides. I am very very very disappointed in Boomtown's Family Fun Center. We had my son's Harry Potter Themed birthday party there this weekend. This is not the first birthday party we have had with you but I can easily say it will be the last! First off we purchased the higher priced party package. The party "coordinator" person is obviously an underpaid teenager with no skills or training to coordinate a party. From the moment she introduced herself it was a very uncontrolled mess. Our previous party coordinator told us right off the bat how everything would go as far as pizza, cake, wristbands and just timing of the party. This time I kept having to go and find the coordinator and ask her questions. We were told when booking the party it would be 2 hours. Found out 9 minutes before his time ended that it was only an hour and a half. The coordinator told us we had five minutes to get all of our things out of the room because there's another party starting. As I rushed to begin to pack the presents to take to the car, she said you can take home the pizza and the unused water bottles. I then noticed things she told me to take home with me were thrown away. I even asked her what happened to all the water bottles you just told me to take? My son left his Interactive Universal Studios Harry Potter wand sitting at his table while they were playing. When I came back from taking presents to the car, the whole room had already been cleaned up and a new party was being set up for. His wand was gone. I searched all over the fun center for it. I asked almost every teenage person that worked there if they had seen it. I asked our party coordinator if she had thrown it away when she threw away the table coverings. I asked her to check in the trash. So one of two things happened the teenage worker throw it away or the next party coming in took it. As I had seen it sitting on the table. Her response to me was maybe I already took it to the car. The cheap cardboard pizza that taste worse than Little Caesars and the 1500 point towards a prize were worth 1/3 of what I paid for the wand. This is not the first time the teenage employees have been less then helpful. We have this happen almost every time we come in to play at the Fun Center. Your service is getting very disappointing. When I tried to look under the tables or on the pushed and chairs the customer that was there for the next party rudely told me I needed to get out and that my party was over. Moral of the story Boomtown. Maybe be more concerned with customer service and providing a good experience for kids then your bottom line and jamming in as many parties as you can into one day. So you have decided to head out to the BoomTown casino but you have a couple of rugrats with you... You need your gambling fix but the kids man... they cant be around the tables or the slots... what can you do? Well being we are not going to encourage good proper behavior around here you roll out to the casino... Ok now what to do with the kids... ohhhhh heres the solution the family fun center...YAY! Is this a win win? Not quite but it will work for now. This place has a ton of video games, hell it reminds me of an arcade from my childhood. They have like 100 video games, a merry go round, and a bunch of whack-a-mole/skeeball games. Wait is this place chuck e cheeses? No we are at a casino... but this place is for the kids to get down and have fun Woo woo so please be the responsible parent and not the one en route to jail and stay with the kids here playing games instead of looking for a couple of slots or tables kinda near the area while your lil ones roam solo. At least this spot for kids is one that they will like. It is kinda like a mini version of the circus circus midway with a ton of video games. We all know this kinda place. It's a wonderful thing. So let the kids have some fun, and stay here with them. Its what I would do and have done once. Heck my daughter had me her grandpa and grandma all here watching her play games and go on rides. She was in heaven! So while this place is a bit out of the way, it's a great stop if you have a rugrat and are up in Reno or on your way to/through the area. read more

They put a limit on games that have large prizes and doesn't let you play them once your card is registered into the game system. Your card is still charged but unable to play the game. Their game/card system is cannot be trusted, it robbed my family $20. The game workers don't even know know what they're doing due to their corrupt system. My oldest kiddo is 14. Which means I have had 14 different parties. I know alot about birthday party venues. Funny thing though - I never thought of Boomtown. I know about Boomtown, I've been to Boomtown, heck - I used to work at Boomtown and in the Fun Center no less. But I just never thought of having a party at Boomtown. Leaving my daughter to her own devices as to where to find a party place, she picked Boomtown! I cannot for the life of me remember our Party Hostess' name but she was very sweet. She served all the kids and had thier preference of SODAs and passed out the cupcakes like a champ. She did not rush us and had a smile on her face the whole time. What I really liked about Boomtown that set it apart from other places is that they include an "adult" pizza and let you pick what you want and they include goodie bags for the kids. No one else does this. The kids played for 6 hours straight - this without Max Flight passes and only $2.00 each on a game card - they all had a blast. My ONLY complaint would be that once I got my receipt I noticed that I could have added Max Flight for each kid for less than $10.00 (not per kid - just less than $10.00) I would have done that in a second if I were told that was an option. This place has a great fun center to let the kids loose and burn some energy. They have plenty of games for amusement for all ages. They have multiple rides as well as a bouncy house and miniature golf. They have wrist bands available for purchase at a fair price, for unlimited rides which is a huge savings when you bring multiple children, when the tokens run low there is diversion... Hence, spend less money rather than refilling the play card. During our visit we spent half of what we would normally spend at Circus Circus and the kids were able to do alot more. We notices several personnel roaming the fun center santizing games and surfaces after children run from games to games... A huge relief. We get tired of running after the kids with sanitizer wherever we go that aren't the best with household upkeep. The downside was the Merry-go-round was down due to covid-19... Totally understand. But, when fully operational it can be a very helpfully, time consuming item that parent with multiple children really appreciate. The pricing also werent the greatest but they have a decent selection to satisfy the kids. We come here everytime we bring the kids to Reno and recommend Boomtowns fun center to family and friends over any other fun center in reno/ sparks. Gets your time and moneys worth!!! read more

Worst experience ever. Apparently, even the workers don't even know how much their prizes are. How about instead of assuming it's x amount, you actually go read the sheet and provide the correct information about how much a prize costs before the customer decides to spend more money trying to win that prize. Had to speak to the manager (TJ) who was the coolest of them all. He couldn't do anything so we asked to speak to his manager who was a lady and was so RUDE! How about instead of admitting to being at fault for false information, you just hand over the $10 lava lamp. She tried finessing us saying we can pay for it which will be $21 or she could lower the amount to 2000 tickets. Then we decided we were fed up with her bullshit so we asked to speak to the guy who "lied" to me about how much a prize was worth and the lady said she is not going to bring him out here so I could "yell" at him. Honestly I'm really disappointed with how bad this place has become. My family would vacation to Reno every year, and one of the places we would visit would be Boomtown. To paint the picture there once was a laughing animatronic lady who would greet you! Since she left this place has become lifeless. Upon walking into the Family Fun Center you can tell they tried to upgrade some thing but missed the mark. They still have the rides, but many of them are out of service or possibly don't have enough staff to operate. The games have upgraded to using card readers. To many this is a plus if you plan on being there with children for awhile. But if you just want to play a few games like air hockey, bowling, etc a card seems unnecessary. The mini golf area is really small. The turf looks really messed up so it may be difficult to play a good round, but for $3 can't really complain. In all honesty I probably won't be coming back until they fully renovate this arcade. Lots of the attractions are old and need to be fixed/need a coat of paint. My sister suggested GSR and I told her to look at this place. I then read reviews and now figured she is on point with Grand Sierra. I should have known better since we have already written off the buffet at Boomtown for their horrible service. We kept giving that place more "tries" when they didn't deserve it. My Mom, Daughter, and I stopped here on the way to Reno. I've been here many times, but my first as a mother. As soon as they walked in we saw a Pooh bouncy house. My 3 yr. old was so excited, so we promptly got a card with money on it and started to make our way through the Fun Center. She wanted me to try to win her some stuffed animals though Mommy wasn't successful. She wanted me to try to win her some jewelry, Mommy wasn't successful. She wanted me to try to win her a rubber ducky, YAY! Mommy won a rockstar one with a mic in it's hand. She got to go in the bouncy house as long as she wanted, no time limit since it was just her and a little boy. She also road the stagecoach ferris wheel with my Mom, which she loved and rode it a couple of times, since there weren't that many kids around. All in all we had a good time, only spent about $15 to play games and enjoy watching my daughter have a good time. read more

Celebrated our daughters 7th b-day yesterday and lets just say I WILL BE BACK!!!! We had Arielle! She was absolutely WONDERFUL!! We had picky kids and even pickier adults! She handled all of the dumb requests like a pro even when she saw me start to get frustrated she was able to deflect my attitude better then my husband! "A" for her!!! Can't give that girl enough praise!! Ask for Arielle if possible!! The party was cheaper too. She explained that for some reason they changed up the way the food is done but when you book on line it doesnt come up that way. Could the guy that called me explain that NO! But Arielle made up for him lack of communication! The ham and cheese sandwhiches were good and the pastarmi was just nasty at least I think thats what it was! Kids had an awesome time! I thought this was a "new" addition but most of the games are pretty run down or out of order. Only the carousel is working today none of the other rides. One employee (extremely nice) behind the counter to purchase game cards and concession items. Definitely room for improvement, kids seemed to have a good time. We just celebrated my daughter Hannah's 2nd birthday there yesterday and have to boast about our experience with our party hostess "Julie!" This was our first time having our party here and can easily say "we'll be back" for other birthdays! She did such wonderful job making it such a special day for my family and friends I just wonder if I can request her in the future! She's definitely in the right business! She supplied us with 2 candles which if forgot to bring and did a great job matching the party supplies with my daughter's theme, Minnie Mouse, (finding extra mickey and Minnie plates for us), just helping out with the kids in any way possible and just having the most pleasant disposition!!!! Yes, the kids loved all the activities in the fun zone center, but if it weren't for our hostess, the time we had wouldn't be half as great! Thank you Julie! read more

Came in here and on my first try on a game i won the prize. I was too excited and didn't even think of taking a picture. As I was waiting for the headphones to fall down I noticed that there was something blocking it from spinning and dropping down the prize so I informed the supervisor, Jordan. She said she could not do anything about it. Are you freaking kidding me?! She said she has no proof and I told her to look at the cameras then she indicated that the camera only points to the snack bar when clearly there is about 10 cameras all around. I asked to speak to the manager and she said she's the only one and the manager wouldn't be able to do anything either. What a freaking lie! I also told her they need to fix the machine before it happens to someone else and she didn't say anything. She said she could only put the credit back onto my card. I said no they need to look at the cameras because that's not right. I'm sure they rip a bunch of little kids off. I'm never going back to this crappy place. I walked off since I was upset and went back to get my credit and asked to speak to her but instead the other girl up front just put the credit on without having her come back to speak to me. Make sure you take a picture if you win a jackpot or any prizes or else this will happen to you too. Expensive games and crappy customer service. Definitely isn't the same as it was before. read more
