    Party room
    Michael T.

We had our son's 6th birthday party here and it was a blast. The packages are pretty reasonable for what they offer and the party rooms are a great touch, and it doesn't hurt the food isn't awful by adult standards either. My four stars are based on the fun center itself and how much the kids got from the experience, but if I'm honest, the service on day of was mediocre at best and pretty disappointing. The fun center is clean, offers a lot of variety, and even includes several attractions and VR experiences too. With the birthday package the guests got 90 minutes of unlimited play (some limitations) and attractions, as well as mini golf, and they loved every minute. Seeing the kids safely playing independently, enjoying the rides, and having a blast made me smile from ear to ear, especially when they asked me to join in. Lots of fun was had. The party room we had was very large with big tables for gifts, party favors and cake, and another just for the food and drinks. The room was Boomtown themed too, which added to the fun. Pizzas and wings were much better than you'd expect and it looked like everyone enjoyed it quite a bit. The service - Booking the party was a breeze and the communication up to the day of was good, but the morning of the party we realized no one asked how we wanted to structure the party, so with a 1pm start we discussed and decided we'd like to have lunch and cake first, then unleash the kids on the arcade. There were lots of reasons for this timing, but the biggest was allowing them to play uninterrupted and avoid the hassle of wrangling them back in. So we arrived 30 minutes early to talk to our party host about this and initially she said there was no way to adjust at this point. I pointed out the time and then she got me the manager, Kyle I believe, who told me it wasn't possible because he didn't have a way to communicate with the kitchen. I pointed out the time to him and asked if he could walk over to the kitchen and ask them, and he actually said that was a great idea and begrudgingly went to ask about moving our order up. When he came back he said they were able to do it but couldn't guarantee it would arrive right at 1pm when the party started, and I said that was fine and added I'd appreciate if he could try to be as close to 1pm as possible. He snapped back with "it'll depend how many food runners are available" and I said I'd happily be an extra hand to carry back the pizza boxes. He didn't like that offer much but eventually he made it happen. Lastly, the party host knew the timeline had changed but didn't get the drinks ready to match up with it, so when the food arrived, we had kids looking for drinks and they all had to wait. Saying "let me see what I can do" goes a long way and all we heard was no, which was very upsetting and not what I expected. The requests made were reasonable and easily accommodated, so there shouldn't have been any issues, and the entire situation is also easily avoidable simply by asking the parents when they'd like to serve food. All in all, I'd still host another party here. It was a great time for everyone.

Not including the green bear, this was around 600 tickets of prizes

We stayed at the KOA across the street and were happy to try out this place for our teens. There were many different video games available to play, and most of them seemed to be working correctly. The mini golf was fun, but kind of dilapidated. It looked like there was a water feature in it that they just drained and kept that way, and some of the decorations were kind of falling apart and looked old. The carousel was very pretty, and although my kids didn't want to go on it, I did see some little kids enjoy it. Compared to our video game place back home, most of these games seemed rigged because they hardly gave out any tickets, and it was probably impossible to win them. One example was the duck machine where the claw didn't close until it was way up above where any of the ducks were. This was very disappointing for my son because we have one near our house that lets you play until you win. I didn't see any people win in any of the other claw machines either which leads me to think that they are all rigged and probably impossible to win. The prices for the food at this place were OK, and we got a big bucket of popcorn for six dollars. The prizes were really cheap ones like from a dollar store and it seemed like you would have to get a lot of tickets to get anything that was even remotely useful or worth anything. All in all it was a fun place for my kids to go for a few hours, but wouldn't be worth the price to go here more often. My teens spent $40 with $10 free each in a few hours with only around 900 tickets won total.

A well maintained playzone for kids and adults, who want an arcade and carousel and ferris wheel experience, but all indoors. My child loves this place, and wants to come back often. The magnetic swipe cards they use in place of quarters also double as a collection point the sort of prize tickets that USED to print out of things like skee ball machines.... it seems like that should save ten thousand trees each year!

I recently booked a party for my kids here at the Fun Center, and they had a blast, I bought the Max Package which as advertised includes, Unlimited one day use of the Max Flight, carousel, Mini golf, bounce house and rodeo rider, and a $5.00 game card. Comes with 4 pizzas, drinks, themed place settings a party coach, 60 seconds in the wind machine and party bags for each kids. PROS: Kids had a lot of fun, pizza was decent, and party coach was nice. We had the party room to ourselves which was nice. The place wasn't too crowded and it was pretty clean. CONS: The Carousel was broken, so they gave us an extra $5 bucks on the game card, not a bad trade off. We didn't receive Party Bags for each kid, and the wind machine was broken. My oldest son was told he had to use his game card to ride the Max flight witch was wrong because I bought the unlimited package. There seems to be a lot of disorganization and confusion from the staff on what we pay for in our package. In all it wasn't too bad, my kids had a blast with their friends and that's all that matters.

I booked my son's birthday party here. The place is a blast for kids! There are fun rides like the carousel, Ferris wheel, and 4D motion picture rides for the bigger kids. There are plenty of arcade games to play as well. The party room was located by the motion picture ride and fairly private with the exception of tweens waiting to enter the ride in front of the room. It was large enough for our party guests and we loved the fact that they provide the plates, table cloths and utensils. Included in our package were pizzas, sodas, and game cards for 2 hours of free play. They also got wrist bands for unlimited rides. Our host was very sweet, made sure our pitchers were always refilled and checked on us periodically during the party to see if we needed anything. Made things easier for me to have a point person. The pizza was ok, the chicken tenders were over cooked and the wings weren't anything special. But the food was fine for a kids party and everyone left with full bellies. Overall, this is a great place for a kid's birthday party.

I have great respect for all the staff working here, especially dealing with kids all day and back-to-back kids' parties. My son met some really nice boys who were having a birthday party and offered him a wristband to join them on the rides (unlimited). The staff managed to keep this place super clean and kept the snack bar running efficiently. Staff were upbeat and friendly while operating the rides. Their manager Travis D. is a great boss, as he leads by example. He came out to assist his staff with the register and cleanup. Kudos to Management for empowering their employees and recognizing their efforts. It's a "thankless" job working in this kind of environment, and most of the time, teenagers working at amusements parks or fun centers show their lack of enthusiasm. Not this place, they work hard and enjoy working with each other. Customers like myself can tell just by observing them. Keep up the great job and positive attitude!!!

Carousel, ferris wheeler, bounce house, mini golf, and an abundance of arcade games makes this place a strong contender to be favorite outing for most kids. Throw in an unlimited ride wrist band for just $10, reasonable prices on the arcade games, and friendly staff, and this Mom & Dad jump on the "this place is AWESOME" bandwagon quite happily. The Family Fun Center at Boomtown has become a favorite in our family for both one-on-one outings with The Boy and a few hours of budge friendly silly, old-fashioned fun for the whole family. The one thing that brings my rating down to 4 stars is that there is sometimes a long wait for rides. Not because of lines, but because there isn't sufficient staff available for all o the rides. It's not uncommon to have to track someone down to ask them to come to the ride. That said, we intentionally visit on evenings and weekdays when the place isn't busy with birthday parties, so that may be different on weekends.

    Happy Birthday Nicholas!!
    Tarryn B.

We haven't been to Boomtown in years. We went this weekend for a kids birthday party and had a great time. The rides and games were petty neat. It would have been nice to see less of the games "temporarily unavailable" or out of service, and have attendants at the rides so they didn't look closed. But my 1 and 3 year old had a great time. We will probably consider coming here for birthday parties in the future. They have a few party rooms and they are great for getting everyone together and enjoying the birthday festivities. The staff was really nice accommodating. There's a bounce house, Ferris wheel, carousel, and a little mini golf course, and a ride. Then arcade games for all ages. The wrist bands you get for the birthday party are good for the kids for the whole day, so you don't have to leave right away after the party is over. The kids played until they were worn out. It was worth the drive out.

This arcade was alright. It's small and some of the game was not working. There was no worker to ask about mini golf pricing.

As far as the games go, they're all working but the place just feels tired a bit old and rundown. They don't offer a system where they're unlimited play cards include ticket games, but do not reward tickets so the selection of games available to the kids at the party was fairly limited as a result which bothered me, but of course didn't bother the kids who were just happy to continue swiping and playing. That said they do offer some games here that are not typically included in other arcades in town like the Minecraft game which spits out super cool cards and certainly captivated the kids for quite some time. The party room was large but parsley appointed in terms of decorations and really didn't offer much in terms of seeming or decor. There's truly a DIY situation and thankfully, we came with a couple of decorations to put up to make it feel more festive. One of the pizzas included in the party arrived squished in one corner and the supervisor was quick with the solution. Unfortunately, they couldn't remake the pizza which I'm not really sure why, but instead he offered additional cards that the kids could use to play the Midway games downstairs, which ended up being a huge hit. The birthday party deal is a great value to be honest. Works out to around 25 bucks a kid minimum of 10 and it includes pizza and unlimited soda plus a two hour arcade card and $15 to use on the midway or the games with redemption prizes. We ended up adding a $100 card to our party so that we could have the kids play some additional Midway games and that really did extend the fun quite a bit. Midway games are about to six dollars per play, so it does actually go a little ways. If you're staying at Circus Circus, the XP arcade is a fun stop over but if you're from the area, I personally wouldn't say this is the one to come to. That said if you wanna play the midway, you really can't do that anywhere else and it is super fun, especially rewarding when you win a prize. We'll certainly recommend this birthday party option to friends.

The offer card specials and we opted for the $60 one to give us an additional $15 as a bonus. The game area was clean and well lit up. They have video games on the top floor and some more ticket games on the bottom floor. I feel like we lost some credits on the machines because we would swipe and it wouldn't work, but I noticed that my money was going down. There wasn't an attendant to help. We spent like an hour there using up the card. The kids racked up about 1,000 tickets on their card. They use a self serve prize machine to redeem your tickets, which is pretty cool. Overall, we had a great time.

Haven't stayed or patronized the property here in decades. And the primary aim with this stay was getting back into the Caesar's Rewards program as quickly and as economically as possible. Sure, it's an older property with it's proverbial warts, but the stay held appeal for me. And it didn't hurt that I upgraded to a Spa King Suite, located in the Casino Tower. Check-in supervisor Asialene was a sweetheart who set the tone for my 1 night stay. Spa Suites have either an oversized soaking tub or one with jet nozzles (basically a mini whirlpool-jacuzzi). Really relaxing and is always a highlight of any stay, no matter the property. These rooms are huge! Around 680 sq. ft. Like an apartment almost. Easily accommodates multiple adults or a family with the non-king, 2 bed set up. Wet bar, Keurig machine, mini fridge, 42" big screen, a 2nd smaller screen in the master room, two separate toilets in each suite. The climate A/C system works great; no nonsense old-school horsepower blowing from 2 separate units in the suite. Unlike at some of the fancier resorts around town that skimp on the room HVAC output. In short and overall, there's quite a bit of value for what you get here at Circus, comparatively speaking. It serves well a niche for folks not wishing to break the bank for a simple night's stay while in Reno. Sure, other resorts are fancier no doubt, but, you're also shelling out more cash to get that in most cases. My normal go-to resort in Reno is usually Peppermill for example. Stay there several times a year. Which defies comparison to Circus on many levels. But, one thing I actually appreciated about Circus was being about to get where I wanted with a lot fewer steps than at most other fancier resorts. For the same time + distance it takes you to weave from 1 side of Peppermill to the other towers and parking areas for example, you could cover about the same distance between all 3 resorts under The Row (Circus Circus, Silver Legacy & El Dorado) it seems. Setbacks here at Circus like hot & stuffy hallways and lobbies, slow & inoperable escalators & elevators, a dystopian parking garage, closed rewards center & cashier cage (only at Circus, not at Silver Legacy & El Dorado) turned out to be minor inconveniences that were fairly easily overlooked & remedied during the stay. I mean, who really judges a resort by the parking garage for example? Was here for Monday overnight, so most of the shops and some restaurants within the Circus side were closed, owing to the idea that Monday's are typically one of the slowest days of the week. They've also swung the axe on table games here at Circus, a bummer from the heyday where lively floor crowds were the norm. Bartender blamed this on Covid when I inquired. But again, a short walk to either Silver Legacy or El Dorado casinos via the indoor connected walkways solves that riddle. I wasn't on the property long enough to relive the still-active midway-arcade, free circus acts (if they even still have those?), restaurants, etc, so can't comment there. But, it would be a sad day if this property ever closes. And I definitely wouldn't hesitate lodging here again at any of the other properties at The Row.
