Took our soup pots, plates, and then came to our table and told us "If you want to finish your ice cream you need to stop talking. You didn't come here to talk. You need to eat so we can go home." Then he proceeded to go to other tables and harass them as well. I've worked in hospitality for over 10 years and have never had such a disrespectful server. They have many different types of food options, its really nice. For drinks, theres an open fridge where people can grab the drinks they want throughout eating. They have a lot of different kinds of drinks. On the menu they also so have unlimited, beer, sake, and wine for you to drink as well. They also have a sauce bar with lots of different kinds of sauce for you to mix. They also have ice cream, mango pudding etc for dessert. Finally coming out of my shell and trying a new hot pot place out! First off, $20.99 (lunch) for AYCE and DRINK is a such great deal, especially for people like me who don't eat a lot, but still wants to stuff my face with a little bit of everything. Came here on a Tuesday afternoon around 12:30pm. I was worried that there would be a lot of people during lunch time, but there were only 3 parties. By then, the tables slowly started to fill in. I can imagine it being more packed during the weekends. *VERDICT: Ordered their House Original and White Pepper Chicken & Pork Stomach soup base. Really enjoyed the little kick to it. Some of my favorite items were the daikon slices, mixed tempura, lamb shoulder slices, and xlb. Saw lots of people ordering their crab rangoons and green onion pancake. What really lit up my eyes were their AYCDrink fridge. Most places charge extra for drinks so I usually skip out on it. But today, I truly felt like the happiest little kid walking up to the fridge and grabbing whatever I wanted at no extra cost. Some things that I do have to point out.. sometimes the employees forget your order so you have to kindly remind them. That's understandable. / Some portions of the items are bigger than others. I ordered a udon and they gave me a huge bowl of it which I had to stuff my stomach with towards the end. / Also, I remember ordering a Homemade Fish Paste, but only to find out that they gave us the Shrimp Paste after putting it in the broth. Both fish and shrimp paste look awfully similar when they're uncooked. This became a problem because the people I was eating with were allergic to shrimp so we had to change out the broth. AYCE AND AYCD?! Yes please. Family and I went here a few weeks ago to celebrate both mom and dad's birthdays. We had 8 people and were seated at a round table with 2 pots each having 2 kinds of soup. We made reservations about a week in advance but it wasn't too busy when we got there at 5pm. This hot pot restaurant is great because it includes all you drink with the all you can eat hot pot as well as many cooked items and dessert! They had quite a variety of canned drinks including sodas, Hawaiian juice drinks, iced coffee, canned milk tea, yogurt drinks and some other canned teas as well. They have a fridge that you can help yourself to get the drinks. Everything is single cans in the fridge so it's safe. For dinner they also offer wine, beer and sake. The alcohol they serve to you. On to the food, there was so much! They give portions according to how many people you have in your group. So since we had 8 people, portions were really big! We didn't know there was going to be such big plates, since many places don't give you more meat even when you have more people. For the cooked items we tried the XLB, orange chicken, mandarin beef, onion pancakes, spring rolls, tempura, and honey glazed shrimp. Just these items alone was like eating a 5 course Chinese dinner, the plates were huge! Even the honey glazed shrimp which was walnut prawns without the walnuts had 12-15 shrimp on the plate. The fried items were nice and crispy, I loved the tempura! The tempura was mixed veggies and shrimp as well. The XLB were also nice and juicy. For the hot pot items we tried the beef, fish, chicken, pork belly, shrimp and a variety of veggies, noodles. They also gave very generous portions for the hot pot items too. The meat quality was good and everything tasted fresh. For dessert they had ice cream, cheesecake at dinner time and mango pudding. The mango pudding was a bit watered down and not a lot of flavor. Cheesecake was matcha flavor but didn't say that on the menu. The lychee ice cream was really yummy and had bits of lychee jelly in it. The mango ice cream wasn't bad, but I liked the lychee better. Knocked off a star because after they brought our first round of items, if you wanted anything else you had to wave a server down. They did bring out more items if you asked, but didn't come over to ask if we wanted anything else. Although one round of food was already a lot and we only ordered a few more items after and asked for smaller portions. Prices for adults are reasonable for the Bay Area. $21 for lunch and $30 for dinner. Lunch price does not include the alcohol, shrimp items, cheesecake and some higher cuts of meat. They do have a senior price that saves $2. However they charge for all kids even those under 5. It's a lower price under 5 years old but still $9 for dinner. $18 for kids 5-12 for dinner. Kids price is on the high side but we only had 1 child in our group. Most places don't charge for kids under 4 or 5 but they do here so keep that in mind. Overall a great meal and would go back, but would ask for smaller portions if we have a big group next time! read more

We got seated right away, and we had a menu where we could choose what items we wanted (types of broth, meat, seafood, veggies) by putting a checkmark in designated boxes. Then once the waitress comes to collect it, you can go up to their sauce station where you can make your own dipping sauces and collect your steamed rice. They also have separate fridges offering varieties of beverages as well as a separate station to get water and another station to get ice cream. 3-6 months to try this place again when we first tried it in 2019 turned into 4 years! We ended up at Grand HotPot for our new year dinner by chance. We were planning on trying Top Pot nearby, but the wait was an hour for Top Pot so we went over to Grand HotPot. They were already pretty busy, but we were able to get seated right away. One disadvantage of Grand Hotpot compared to other hot pot restaurants is that each table has to share the broth. Since there were three of us, we got up to two broths to share. Cost for dinner is $34.99 per person including most drinks, like Sapporo, sake and soda. The restaurant is quite spacious so noise level when full is high. Service was also not very good. We marked up our menu and the server never brought one of the appetizer dishes we ordered. They also don't bring back a menu for you to order more even though it's AYCE. You are just supposed to verbally let them know what else you want. A particular beef we reordered came out differently sliced than the first time. Our beef also tasted a bit gamey like lamb (probably from the same meat slicer used to cut both meats). The steamed rice, which is self-serve was out when we went to get some. A new batch didn't come out for another 20 minutes. Service was pretty much non-existent unless you flag one of the servers down. Overall, not a horrible experience, but giving Grand HotPot three stars is quite generous. Came in on that stormy Sunday night with reservations for the vip room. We had a good time , nice place to hang with a group of friends. It's your average experience at a hot pot restaurant. One of the servers actually spilled broth on my friends phone but it was easily washable. Food was delicious, good amount meat and veggie options. This is my all time favorite all-you-can-eat hot pot place in the Bay Area. Perfect for big groups and the price is very fair. There was minimal wait for a table and when I called ahead they said to just come right in. If you like dining outside there are several tables available. It's going to take longer for them to get to you though so keep that in mind. We were seated inside right by the kitchen for the best and speediest service. Hot pot is a good business model right now as it requires minimal interaction with the staff and they can bring out the items for you to cook. The AYCE option here is a good deal as it includes drinks too! There is no shortage of meats and broths to choose from and you'll leave stuffed, I guarantee it. We had several cuts of lamb, beef (fatty wagyu!!!), hot appetizers, veggies, noodles and rice. If you're here for dinner you can also get unlimited sake, beer, and wine. We had reservations for VIP rooms, which each included two large round tables as well as a wall-mounted TV for karaoke. The all-you-can-eat hotpot was delicious, with a wide assortment of options for both veggies and meat. In the back of the restaurant, they have a quite comprehensive sauce station, and a variety of canned drinks in the fridges. Water is in the front, next to the ice cream station by the entrance. Update 2024 Review: I went there a few more times after my last review in 2023, and they were all pretty good. However, my first time back here in 2024, it was absolutely disappointing. At first I thought I went on a busy day and they were too busy to keep up their quality, but I checked with my family members that went there a few weeks before I did on a slow weekday, and they said it was also utterly disappointing. We went back in mid February on a Saturday, and we booked a private karaoke. It was extremely busy that night, all their rooms were all booked, and their tables outside were filled; lines for the sauce bar and a herd of people were outside waiting for a table. We did all you can eat. While some of their food were still fairly good (cooked food), but what disappointed me the most was their meat quality and broth quality. For the meat, it was either super lean or super fatty. I am 100% positive that they changed their meat supplier to a cheaper supplier since the last time we went in 2023. Their other food such as beef ball and fish ball, are probably the poorest quality as well; definitely different from 2023. Their broth was so bad that I would prefer to hot pot with salt water. Their broth tasted super diluted. Service wise, it was very slow that day, because I would assume they were busy, so it is normal. Now to the so called "VIP" karaoke room, it was the room all the way in the back of the restaurant; felt a little sketch, and smelled pretty bad back there. On top of that, the karaoke machine broke after 2 song, and we didn't even get to sing; and no, it wasn't because of our poor vocals. Basically the screen was no longer touchable and was lagging super bad. We asked like 3 staff, and each staff kept asking others and at the end, no one knew how to fix it. Overall, I am really disappointed at this place. They use to have quality meat, good tasting broth and good selections. Now, I guess they became super popular, they tried to reduce cost for a higher profit; or they try to reduce cost to maintain same profit due to the rise of expense. We went for AYCE dinner during happy hour (9pm-12am). For the price, really good hot pot spot! Service was relatively quick when they came out with all of our ingredients. I was surprised by the ice cream flavors (red bean, black sesame, green tea) but definitely in a good way. We were a table of 3, and we shared one big pot with 2 divisions, so we were allowed 2 soup bases. Place seemed like a family restaurant, really cozy. Only drawbacks was that it cost more to replace/change the soup base, and enoki mushrooms among other ingredients cost the full dinner price. They have a small seating area, otherwise you have to wait outside. They are located in a big shopping center with a ton of parking. The service was okay. They were on top of things initially, but once the restaurant got busier, it was a little harder to flag down your server to order more food. They have a sauce bar in the front, drink fridge in the front, and ice cream in the back. Everything was all you can eat. We also had hot sake as part of the unlimited drink. A hidden gem in the heart of the California coastal city of Pacifica, the food options and drinks are quite grand at Grand HotPot! Located in the Pacific Manor Shopping Center, Grand HotPot replaced a pet shop and dry cleaners when it arrived a couple of years ago and is bringing all-you-can-eat dining to the suburban masses. Hot Pot dining originated in China where a boiling pot of soup base is the star of the show as it continuously simmers throughout your dining experience and a variety of traditional Chinese foods and ingredients, all of which are served raw and are placed beside the pot for the diners to put into the hot stock and cook to their liking. What sets Grand HotPot from so many of the other hot pot dining establishments that have opened across the Bay Area is their basic affordability, as I cannot find many places where hot pot is sold at $21.99 per adult for lunch and $19.99 for seniors over 65 years old. Plus, even a bigger rarity for all-you-can-eat dining is that Grand HotPot also offers complimentary drinks and ice cream along with all of the raw and boiled foods you can eat, so dining here is truly gluttony on a budget. What brought a group of friends and I here on a recent Friday afternoon for lunch was the fact that one of said friends lived not too far away in the southern part of San Francisco, and as a fellow foodie who is always looking for a good deal suggested that we that try Grand HotPot for lunch, after they enjoyed them during a previous meal and shared the affordable cost. We were sold and driving from Interstate 280 to Highway 1 was a real plus as it gets visitors a real view of the area, and a simple exit off of the Manor Drive off ramp and then you're here, with plenty of parking to spare. Upon entry, one will notice the plethora of tables both large sizes that fit as many as six to eight diners and smaller booths that can accommodate up to four diners. As we sat in our booth for four people, we were asked to fill out their menu with a pencil, and since our meal is served family-style, we filled out their menu as a group. We first had to decide on our soup base, and since there were four people in our party we had the option to select two flavors. One half opted for their Chinese Herb Chicken Feet hot soup base, while a fellow diner and I opted for their Spicy Miso hot soup base. The remainder of their menu is broken up into sections such as Meats, Meat Balls, Appetizers, Dinner Only Items, Vegetables, Noodle & Rice, Tofu & Mushrooms, Seafood, in addition to their Beverages and Dessert, which diners can grab on their own. For our ingredients that we opted to order, we opted for their Supreme Lamb Shoulder Slices, Supreme Beef Slices, Beef Tripe, Frog Legs, four fresh Eggs, Chicken Dumplings, A Choy, DaiKon Slices, Corn, Udon Noodles, Onion & Cilantro, Fresh Tofu, Fried Tofu, Bean Curd Stick, King Oyster Mushrooms, Fresh Black Fungus, Fish Fillet, and Clams (Precooked). And of course this was just round one! Ordering this way, gave us a chance to see what we did and did not like to eat and what we wanted more of. Of these initial dishes, the Udon noodles were very fresh, and the slices of lamb and beef, although frozen, as they should be, were truly wonderful when boiled in the flavored soup. The freshly sliced mushrooms, quartered corn on the cob, fried tofu, frog legs, and tripe were all interesting combinations when boiled in spicy miso. Another surprise were their chicken dumplings that tasted so freshly hand prepared that we instantly had to order more of them once we finished our first set of ingredients. Plus all of the soft drinks, all of which were canned and featured in a refrigerator with a sliding door, along with some unique options only found in Asian supermarkets, made for the most remarkable experience. A fun and unique dining experience is the best way to describe our dining experience at Grand HotPot, on top of being affordable, as our total bill was less than 92 dollars, which for all-you-can-eat is a really decent price, and made more decent as they give a discount when you pay with cash! Disclaimer: this is a retroactive post, so be considerate of the unreliability of memory. I've been here a couple of times with family, and I've left satisfied and uncomfortably full each time! For big parties, they have a private room that also doubles as a karaoke room (we never tried the karaoke, though). Otherwise, the tables in the main dining area are also large and spacious (can seat up to 10, I believe). There is a huge parking lot outside that is shared with all the stores on the strip. There's also a coast nearby to do some post-meal strolling. I've only gone for the lunch buffet and they are usually not that busy and service is quick. Last time I went was March 2021: Lunch AYCE is about $20-23/person (it has gone up these couple of years, it is currently $23.99). This price also includes unlimited Asian drinks (ie, chrysanthemum tea, herbal jelly, Wang Lao Ji, etc.). There is no sauce station, but each table has a caddy with three different sauces for you to mix. In terms of food quality, the meat is pretty solid and veggies are fresh. The meat selection is a little less wide than other AYCE places, but they have the staple selections. They also have a wide variety yummy appetizers (ie, crab rangoon, potstickers), but I usually don't order too many of these (save room for the meats!!). The soup bases are also very yummy. You get to choose two per pot, and my favorite is the tomato broth. Tomato bases are hard to get right, and they did make it too watery once. The last time I dined here though, the tomato soup base was very savory, thick, and tangy. Overall, this is a great place to bring a large party to for lunch. Decent hot pot place. A little understaffed but they work hard. Really think they need 2 more people to be more efficient. It would help get people in and out faster. Food was good. Came out fast and order was correct. The water station looked like it could use a little cleaning as I noticed some staining on the lever on all three stations. One of my favorite hot pot spots in NorCal this place is also one of my favorite late night eats spots also. Located in pacifica there's plenty of parking unlike SF. It is fairly popular so there can be long lines during the weekend and at prime dinner time (5-7pm) so be aware. In terms of the food their selection is solid. Meat quality is better then most as well as their ingredient options. The hotpot they have here is the more traditional shared large pot, so if your looking for the individual look else where. They have a fairly diy service model here: you order you meat, soup, and ingredients but get you own water/drinks, sauces, and dessert. The meat and ingredients are fresh and they usually give a generous portion, fyi it is all you can eat here but be mindful not to waste food. Depending on how busy it is service can be hit or miss but for an Asian spot I'd say it's better then most. It's a popular spot so it gets loud here, they have private rooms for hotpot and karaoke and usually on the weekends it's banging . Last thing to know they have a late night happy hour hot pot special deal for $25 from 9pm till they close compared to the usual $35-40 rate. FYI while the happy hour rate is an excellent value it is a more limited menu in terms of what you can order but I think it's still well worth it. Also cause of the happy hour special they do get busy after 9pm. Overall this place in one of my favorite all you can eat hot pot places in NorCal. read more

Reservations made here for a Saturday at noon for my sister's birthday. Reservations are highly recommended as they open at noon and it was already packed when we arrived for our reservation. We were seated at a round table for 10. Note - they wouldn't take our order until the whole party was present. As others noted, there are 4 burners at the table, but for our party we were allowed 2 burners and the other 2 were covered. Not sure why. One of the orders was the half and half soup (original and spicy) - the spicy one really hits the back of the throat. Pros - the different appetizers available. Liked the cucumbers and dumplings. Kids really liked the variety of drinks available, and helped themselves to many. Meat portions were generous. Liked the help yourself ice cream station. Also, free meal when it's your actual birthday and discounts offered for seniors and children under 12 years. Cons - as mentioned, we only got to use 2 burners so some really had to reach to get food from the pot. There were limited sauces available on the table (no sauce station), but the jars were not marked so unclear what some of the sauces were. Also, none of the other desserts were available other than the ice cream during our visit. Otherwise, it was a pleasant experience. Servers didn't necessarily come to the table to see if anything else is needed unless they're flagged down. However, I'd consider returning again. read more

Food and service was horrible. The karaoke system sucks. Kept freezing and won't even play any of our songs from YouTube or connect to phone. Food was blank and tasteless. The servers didn't even check up on us. We self serve drinks, sauce, and desserts but there's is a REQUIRED 18% gratuity? RIDICULOUS! I'm usually good on tipping but I do not want to tip if the service is trash. read more
