Ughhh...this review is strictly for lunch. $10 pick your poison with one drink you must drink there or else they charge you for taking it to go. You do get what you pay for. Came here and none of us liked our dishes. Before you say we'll it's $10, I just wanted something halfway decent. I'm not asking for 5 star japanese food at their prices. Beef curry: full of fatty non-edible pieces in salty packet like sauce. Just weird and gross like something they'd serve you in High School. Slop. Sushi bowl with cold rice and shrimp with fake crab, one piece of unagi, tomato, and seaweed salad. Also gross. The fake crab mix was awful. No one wanted to eat it. The one piece of unagi was cold, the tamago was store bought and the overall bowl was yuck. The ramen was super salty and small. Probably decent if it wasn't so salty. The spicy tuna roll was good, 4 stars at an additional charge of $5 (add on). So for $10 a dish with one drink it is what it is. I just want it to be edible. Best thing was the drink fridge.

The whole fam has been wanting to try this place so 12 of us made our way to Shoryuken on a Friday night. My niece was able to make a ressie for 7:30. We were seated right away. On top of the paper menu, a note indicating 'max of 10 items per round'. We asked the server if that applied to us and he said for 12 people, we could do 20 items per round. We ordered a bunch of sushi rolls, nigiri (including a few premium items with $1 or $2 up-charge per order), meat for shabu and some yakitori skewers. There was also a small area for grab your own dim sum, veggies and some other stuff. I'd say get veggies here for the shabu pot but don't waste your time or appetite on the other items. The food started trickling out pretty quickly. Everything was pretty good. I didn't have the shabu but those who did in my party enjoyed the meats. For 12 of us, we were given two pots/burners to share. The sushi was fresh and hearty. The premium items were definitely better than the ones included in the AYCE but expected. Drinks (non-alcoholic and some alcoholic) are included. The non-alcoholic ones are grab your own from the fridge. There are lots of options to choose from. The alcoholic ones that are included are limited to beer, cold and hot sake. Even though we marked these items on the menu, we had to remind the server that we ordered some. The restaurant itself is pretty small. There are quite a few servers but the process was a bit disorganized and chaotic. All the servers worked all the tables. Once they take your order menu, they don't bring it back. We didn't get about half of what we ordered so had to keep reordering in subsequent rounds. At the end of dinner, we estimated we didn't get 1/3 of what we originally ordered. Dessert is also included, lots of variety of ice-cream bars to choose from (Fat Boy, Melona, Haagen Daz, etc.) Overall a decent meal that left us quite full. The tab came out to $54 pp with tax and tip. Try Shoryuken for the variety of options. Skip if you don't have the patience to handle a disorganized wait staff and having to reorder your food and drinks over and over again.

    A5 wagyu for hotpot
    Golden H.

They updated their menu and are only offering one tier of AYCE for both hotpot and sushi. All of the premium options are now $1-$5 add-ons per order to your ayce price, which isn't a terrible model considering the price used to be nearly 2x the ayce price, so you have some leeway there. What I'm really disappointed about is the drop in quality in the sushi options. Salmon looked a bit strange visually. It was a bit too orange, but not the Norwegian salmon orange, more neon orange? And flavor honestly felt a bit off as well. Skewers and hotpot were still very solid and the meat quality is still consistent. Buffet, snacks, and drink options were also still consistent and abundant. If you're coming here, don't expect anything premium for ayce, unless you're opting to shell out for the add-ons!

    Blue fin and Omakase

Have been here twice for AYCE and am never disappointed! The sushi was incredible (the blue fin, the salmon, and the scallop) were incredible. We loved the hot pot as well (the wagyu beef and shrimp were delicious) Omakase platter had a great variety. The fish was fresh and our party of 10+ had a great time. It takes a while to order and get the food. The dessert at the end and the drinks were definitely a plus!

Good value! I just want to include a disclaimer that my husband LOVED this place and definitely wants to go back. He would give this place 4.5 stars based on the prices and value: - Value / ROI: $40 for AYCE sushi/sashimi *and* hot pot? Also includes unlimited beer, sake and kid friendly dumplings, popsicles, etc.? - Quality: The sashimi and sushi was not low grade - no one got sick! - We mainly ordered sashimi. My take (3.5-4 stars): - I would come back if close by - I think the value is there - $40 for the amount of sashimi we ate was worth it - I found that this wasn't truly "unlimited" as it took a *long* time for our sashimi orders to come out - I personally would have enjoyed my meal more if I diversified and got less of the sashimi and more of the cooked food (including the hot pot / noodles) - Very friendly service - Bonus points for the kid-friendly food. Kids ate the shrimp dumplings, some of the noodles and cooked meats. They were very happy with the juices and popsicles

I came here from an IG reel I saw, and it looked good, so I wanted to try it. For the sushi part - there were nigiris (one per person), rolls, hand rolls, and sashimi plates. These were actually pretty tasty and good quality for an AYCE restaurant with multiple cuisines! And the selection was great. The tuna in the roll and sashimi were tender and soft. The hot pot was solid too, which some good veggie and meat options. My favorite was the brisket meat. Out of all of these I loved the skewers the most! The char was perfect. There weren't any dim sum options at the self-serve. The tea drinks you can grab in the fridge were refreshing; I liked the variety. Initially, the sushi came out pretty slow but because they are arranging all the duplicate orders on shared plates. There were a lot of tables inside!

    Violet Y.

I've only been here for the sushi bc I think it's the best bang for your buck for the premium options that they have. I normally start with the omakase nigiri and then just add a few additional pieces of nigiri. The A5 wagyu nigiri is a must each time I have been here! Perfectly melts in your mouth. Definitely skip the omakase sashimi, I think the omakase nigiri has a better range of options. The steamed scallops come with a lot of noodle, so maybe skip to avoid filling up on carbs. The servers are nice but the wait for food can be kinda long. If you're willing to wait a little for food, the premium options they have are worth the price imo!

$40 for all you can eat sushi and hotpot? Yes please. The place was clean and organized. Their buffet area had really good food from delicious chicken wings to braised pork to dumplings and crab legs. The waitresses were sweet and very kind. They even thanked us for stacking our plates. Would definitely come back again. Worth the money 1000%.

Awesome little AYCE restaurant in South SF. Quite an interesting fine and this place can be really overwhelming when you first visit but honestly an awesome place to try out when everyone wants to try everything different. Not surprisingly the good stuff is hidden behind a paper and is not easily accessible but once you get the hang of the things it's a great place for trying out lots of different items. Hot pot and sushi need to ordered by paper and it's the part I didn't really like as getting another menu and waiting for items to come can be quite a long wait. Filling out the paper and getting it to your server quick is a must. Regardless the service was great and when we called over our server she was always friendly and helpful. They have an open buffet type area where you can pick up various drinks, snacks, goods and other goodies. Finally they have a selection of alcoholic beverages that are included as part of your ACYE. Definitely worth a try!

Solid new AYCE spot in downtown South San Francisco. Would recommend making a reservation ahead if you can - we made a reservation for a party of 5 on 6pm on a Saturday and we were quickly seated even though there were many parties waiting outside. Upon entering, I was immediately impressed by the drink selection in the fridge. They had the boxed coconut milk which is a childhood fav (!!). Their Choya NA yuzu sparkling drink was also very tasty. A lot of people also opted for the fresh coconut. AYCE Sushi - I thought the quality was decent. Some of the nigiri pieces were huuuge though, so we didn't end up eating that many pieces. I liked how the premium nigiri sampler (limit 1 per person) was included in the base price. AYCE hot pot - for some reason, it took over 30 mins for our pot to arrive (isn't it just pouring soup into a pot lol)? We had to ask a few times. I didn't dock tooo many points off for this because I felt like they were a little bit lenient with the 90 mins. Otherwise I would've been a bit annoyed. In addition to the AYCE menu, they have some prepped food, including XLB, shumai, crab legs, nigiri and duck breast salad. It's a pretty random combo lol. They also have a solid dessert selection - yuzu sorbet and black sesame ice cream yum, other basic ice cream, drumstick, matcha cheesecake and a few others. Overall, I think this is a decent place for the price.

**Yelp/Google/TripAdvisor Review:** If you're looking for an AYCE sushi and hotpot spot, Shoryuken is the place to be! The food quality is above average, portions are generous, and you can even add premium fish for an extra cost. During our visit, they also had shrimp and crab cocktails, which were a great bonus. The pricing is very reasonable considering the quality and quantity of food, and drinks are included (except for premium options). Service is friendly and efficient, the place is spacious, and there's plenty of parking. Perfect for a feast with friends--come hungry!

    Fancy oysters
    Anh T.

This place went viral on social media so I just had to come here for my birthday in January. since then, i have returned 2 more times and unfortunately i've noticed the quality of the sushi going downhill by the 3rd visit. For the first two visits, the Omakase sashimi and nigiri were to die for, as well as the fancy oysters. The portion of uni they would give you definitely surpasses the $49.55/pp AYCE price. The fish was super fresh and the wagyu was wagyuing. By the third visit, i've noticed the same dishes had gotten cheap. The uni was brown and tasted fishy, and the fish looked like it was dyed a certain food coloring. I had a feeling this place was a little too good to be true but I'm glad i got to experience two really good dinners here. hopefully the quality of the food will be up to par again once they figure out how they want to move forward with their business.

Came in for dinner on a Monday night. Not too busy in the restaurant but busy on the street. A bit hard to find parking at the peak of dinner time. If you haven't been here yet but know the area, I believe this used to be fil-am bbq. They offer AYCE & drink. It's hot pot & sushi & appetizers! There is a lot of food. Appetizers & drinks are self serve. Be careful to not eat too much while you wait for your hot pot or sushi because they do mention charging for leftover food. The apps are good and can definitely fill you up. The sushi rolls are whole rolls, 5-6 pieces but they are big. Side orders (i.e. fried oysters, takoyaki, etc) are 4 pieces so be mindful if you are the only one planning on eating it because it can fill you up before the actual food comes out. My advice - come in with a plan and come in ready to eat. The price is good for the amount and options of food they offer. I came in hungry and left extra full! I'm ready for another visit with a better game plan. Definitely have to be mindful of how much appetizers I'm eating!

They will open our lunch service back starting from 4/1

Are the really not opened for lunch anymore?

    Yup

    Does the restaurant take reservation?

I have done reservations before. Not sure how it is on a busy night like Friday

The menu states 1 dozen of oysters per table. Does it matter if it's 2 people or 6 people at a table? Or did they fix it to give a certain number of oysters per person?

Good question, we trying to give everyone unlimited oysters, but there is only certain amount of oysters we have available per day, so we come up with this term just to be fair so everyone can at least get some oysters, just ask the server nicely if…

Do you have gluten free soy sauce?

There's no such thing. Tamari is similar and is Gluten Free but I don't know if they have it.

Is the $15 lunch special available on weekends?

I'd talked about it so much…read morethat this time, instead of just dragging my husband, I brought the kids and my son's friend too. I was basically forming a fan club. But right before we left, my husband looked up the hours and said, "Wait... it's called Taste of Four Seasons now?" Uh, what? Did Earl Spicy close? Yelp still showed it alive and well, so we decided to go check it out anyway. My heart was already committed. We got there around 7 PM on a Friday. A few tables were filled -- seemed like a good sign. Plenty of servers, but no sign of the old owner. I started feeling a little nervous. We looked through the menu... no spicy grilled fish. Cue quiet panic. I pulled out my phone and showed the server a picture from our last visit. She said they still have it -- it's just made differently now and it's really good. Also, they now use a fresh fish called 多寶魚 instead of the frozen fish Earl Spicy used. Now, my husband and I thought we had decent Chinese, but we had no idea what 多寶魚 was. We stared at the tank she pointed to, still clueless. And honestly, if Earl Spicy really used frozen fish, they fooled us -- it never tasted frozen. I asked how much it was, since it wasn't on the menu. She said $42 per pound, usually around 1.5 pounds. I figured maybe $65-70. More than Earl Spicy's $48 XL version, but hey -- I am here for it. We ordered a few other dishes too. First came the "New Style Sweet and Sour Pork & Shrimp." The menu said pork and chicken, but the server said it was a typo -- it's actually pork cheek and shrimp. It ended up being the best dish of the night. The shrimp was excellent, 5/5. The pork cheek was good too, just a little fatty -- maybe 4/5 for me. My husband wanted Szechuan pepper chicken. The server said the kitchen could make it, even though only a tea-flavored version was listed. What we got was stir-fried chicken with jalapeños. Not deep-fried, not spicy, just... dry. It didn't really land. My son's friend loves fried rice, so we got the $19.95 special fried rice. It came out shaped like a fish -- super cute. First bite though? "Why is this so hard and dry?" the kids asked. I tried it -- yup, same. Crunchy in a weird way, like it had been sitting on the heat too long. I asked the server, and she apologized and had the kitchen remake it. The second version was slightly better, but still dry. Maybe that's just how they do it. Next came the salted fish eggplant casserole. It was only $9.85, but no one really touched it. Just not great. And finally, the main event: the fish I'd been dreaming about. It arrived in the same tray as before, but no tea light underneath. Not a big deal. They'd added a mountain of flat noodles (河粉) underneath, but the fish itself? Dry. Bland. Not the spicy grilled fish I remembered. The sauce was thin, almost like gravy, and the noodles were just soaked sadly in it. A friendly lady (maybe the new owner?) came by and explained that the restaurant now serves southern Chinese-style food, which is different from Earl Spicy's. I smiled politely, but inside I was crying, Why didn't you say that before we ordered? She brought out complimentary glass jelly for dessert -- nice touch. I liked it, but the kids thought it was too bitter. Then came the bill. The fish? $111.77. I did a double take. How was that 2.6 pounds?! I thought about asking, but my husband gave me the look: "Let's just go." So we paid. With tax and tip, the total came out to nearly $240. Final verdict: RIP Earl Spicy. You were loved. You are missed. As for Taste of Four Seasons? Once was enough.

Here's how everything ranked: $22.95 Salted egg prawns $21.95 Spicy fried fish $21.95 Garlic pea sprouts $13.95 Beef scallion pancake rolls I think these are pretty standard Chongqing province dishes. Our The salted prawns were definitely flavorful with umami goodness -- you can really taste a good amount of quality salted egg, the prawns were huge without too much batter and the dish was a good size. I also enjoyed the little corn crunchies. Second best was the fried fish. Their standard level is not very spicy even though it comes with a ton of red peppers so if you like it hot, then don't hesitate to let them know. I appreciate that they don't heavily batter their fish. Our dishes arrived surprisingly quickly, almost too quickly and I felt the dishes could've been hotter so I'm not sure if they were already premade and just kept on a warmer or what. All in all the meal was satisfying and Earl Spicy would probably hit the mark for a lot of people.

Grill and Tofu House is an excellent, family run establishment that serves up delicious food. The space is very nice and the service is very friendly. I ordered a Dolsot bibimbop because I love food that comes to your table and it's still cooking! I also love that your entree is served with several Banchan (appetizer) dishes. One thing I love about any dining experience is getting a lot of different flavors and textures in one meal. The banchan here had seven different dishes! Of course you get your kimchee, bean sprouts, fish cakes and then some other pickled fruits and veggies. They also gave me what seemed like a roasted sardine? In any case, it was delicious! The Dolsot Bibimbap was a hit! Crispy rice, vegetables, beef and a fried egg on top. Plus, some gochujang sauce to go on it! So yummy! I feel like the prices here are pretty standard for the area, but I do think it's 100% worth the money. Check them out if you're in the area!

The tofu stone pot is delicious with quite a lot of tofu. The grilled chicken is so-so. The stir-fried glass noodle dish is good. Note there is no free parking and you'll have to pay for parking on the street.

Yummy SzeChuan, 1661 El Camino Real,…read moreMillbrae, CA94030. This was recommended by our son and daughter-in-law and is one of their favourite restaurant. It says in the restaurant's site that Chef Hu Wen Jun opened Yummy SzeChuan in Millbrae in July 2015. It got the Michelin Guide Recommendations in 2017, 2018 and 2019. 6/19/2026 was my 2nd visit there and I can see why the restaurant won many culinary accolades and special honorable mentions. All the dishes we tried were very good and flavorful. The Toothpick Lamb With Cumin and Lotus Root With Chili Pepper were some of my personal favourites. Will go again if/when I'm in the neighbourhood.

Total disappointment…read more The service was rude, dismissive, and very unwelcoming. It felt like the staff had little interest in helping customers. The online menu is also outdated and lists items that the restaurant no longer offers. The server recommended a replacement dish and said it was similar to what I originally requested, but it was not comparable and the taste was very poor. There were also multiple issues with the food. We ordered sweet and sour chicken but were served sesame chicken instead. The potstickers were soggy and tasted old, and the xiaolongbao had an unpleasant taste. Out of courtesy we took the leftovers with us, but the food was so unappealing that we threw it away shortly after leaving.

UGHHH yes bro fried rice is GOOD i haven't stuffed that in my mouth since like 5 yrs of age. i love the little salty pieces and also the yummy rice and all the oily fish. wonton mein is delicious. super tender beef, bouncy firm noodles, msg laden soup. wontons are too small but cooked well and very flavorful. sugar ball is COLD and sugary and fried. idk it wasn't my thing. it has a custardy dough center that tastes nasty to me also everything is lowkey overpriced but i would say it's generally worth it. HAIL HONG KONG AND GUANGZHOU!!!

The wife wasn't feeling well so in order to heal the soul, porridge is the way to go…read more I was recommended this place by a former colleague who mentioned their porridge was great. I don't eat porridge often, usually when really under the weather so I'm fortunate to not gone to get some in a while. I called my pickup order since I didn't see an online option. The store front is Ichi Ramen so it's confusing in case you get lost in the busy plaza. I ordered shrimp, fish and plain porridge (congee) along with beef chow fun. 4 dishes total. Total came out to under $60 and it was a heavy bag! The porridge has a nice thick consistency without being runny. It had flavor to not need seasoning and surprisingly large portions of seafood. The chow fun was decent but I've definitely tasted better. Kinda pricy at $18 though the beef slices were big. I appreciated it wasn't as oily as other chow fun I've had so easy to eat without feeling kinda gross after. Solid value, good food, and worth a rec for porridge. All in all, I'd definitely return. 4.5 stars.
