This location is now Hotspot, possibly due to change in ownership. Fiery was our favorite hot pot in the area before the change. After trying it recently, it seems like overall meat selection and quality has gone down. It's one of the few (only?) places in SF with AYCE under $30 but you get what you pay for. The meat selection so much reduced compared to before (best beef was flat iron?!) and the slices were much thicker than before making the meat tougher to eat. Overall sad that our old Fiery has turned into this. We'll likely go to other spots next time (Grand Hot Pot in Pacifica or Sea Pot). read more

5/19/22 Zach and I were in the mood for hotpot and we drove into the city to try out Fiery Hot Pot. It's located in the Outer sunset along Taraval Street. Parking wasn't too difficult when we got there. When we got there, all the tables were full except for one, and we didn't have wait long to be seated. There are two kinds of menus: there's a set menu option or you can do the All you can eat and drink option. They give you a physical menu, but you can also scan the QR code and order there. While you wait for the meats and side dishes, they already have a bowl of delicious taro chips for you to munch on. The food didn't even take that long to come out honestly. The meat is good quality so you pay for what you get. The service was also good quality because the staff are attentive and they are quick to remove the empty plates so your table doesn't get cluttered. Dessert is included. At the time, I believe I got a watermelon slush, but that might have changed since the last time I was there. I would definitely return for more delicious hot pot! read more

I've heard of this legendary hot pot in the Inner Sunset, and I'm glad I finally went! It has the best selection of quality meat at any hot pot that I've been to. We definitely had our belly full of Wagyu beef. Worth the visit on a foggy day in the bay. Props to our server, Lin for teaching us how to order and for check in often to make sure we had everything. All the staff were so friendly! We both got the AYCE hot pot for dinner. The servings were a lot larger than I thought, so I'd recommend ordering a little of each before adding in more. The house broth tasted so good! My friend has the spicy one and he underestimated how spicy it'd be. Anyway, all the veggies like the bok choy and spinach were so fresh and the ramen/udon noodles tasted so good after we cooked it. The lychee ice cream at the end with coconut inside was the perfect way to end dinner. Highly recommend! Decent hotpot place. We got the value set at about $25 pp rather than the AYCE, and it was surprisingly enough food for everybody. You get two generous plates of meat of your choice (including 3 types of wagyu), one carb (ramen, udon, rice, vermicelli etc.), and 5 small dishes. We had a selection of fish balls, mushrooms, veggies, shrimp - pretty standard selection and the ingredients were fresh. The tomato broth we got was delicious but the spicy soup base lacked flavor. Also this is not a big deal but just a side note - Their soda is refillable, but if you do the free soda that comes with the Yelp checkin it is not refillable :P It doesn't match up to some of the other hotpot places in South SF but overall pretty good I'd you're looking for a fun dinner out with friends. You get to choose 6 tappas which would be your veges, 1 noodles, fish balls, etc. There will be 1 pot in the middle of your party and you get to choose 2 soups. We were able to put our name down on Yelp and the table was ready quickly after. They check vaccination cards even kids. The service was attentive. We got the AYCE for $35.99. Concern is kids 11 and up pay the same price. My daughter eats a lot, but how much can a skinny 12 year old eat? We also got the $14 AYC drink. (Entire table needs to order, however they had to ask the manager to let our 12 year old out of that. Thought it was stance they had to ask. She's 12. She can't legally drink. Lol We were able order 2 different broths at each table. We ordered: - Rich Pork broth - so good. First time trying this place with a friend. They will check your vaccine card with your ID as some places only look at the vaccine card and not the ID to verify it's truly you. AYCE $37.99 with good quality meat, or $24.99 set menu option for the less hungry. (2 proteins, 1 noodle, 5 sides, dessert ea person). Unless you come here on a non-peak hour, definitely join the Yelp Waitlist ahead before you head over! I joined for a for a party of 4 (later turned 2 ppl) around 6:30pm with an estimated 1-1.5hr wait on Sat night. Ended up eating around 8:10 (about 10-15min past the outer limit of the range wait time). Restaurant isn't too big, so tables are limited. They are pretty good at turning over tables once people leave though! Once seated, the servers are quick and attentive. Order the soup through them in person and then order the rest (meats, sides, drinks) via QR code at the table. Rounds of food come pretty quick, and there's a well-kept sauce bar on the side. You can request service and the check via the QR too, but honestly the service was good enough that they would clear our plates, refill our sodas, and refill soup base without asking. Tomato soup base was great. Highlights were the different beef cuts (mostly different types of Wagyu) and pork belly. I liked the portion size of the rest of the sides, so you could try a bit of everything (e.g. baby corn, CHEESE fish tofu--a favorite of mine not all hot pot places have, fried bean curd rolls to soak up all the soup). Pot stickers were also nice and crispy! Dessert was lychee ice cream that reminded me of the huge jar of the little jellies I used to scarf down as a kid. We had a reservation for 9 people on a Saturday at 7:30pm. Fiery wasn't too busy, but it was still good to have the reservation, which my friend made about a month in advance. The service is good - there were many staff available and they always seemed to be around, available, and eager to help. We got the all-you-can-eat and I thought all the meat, noodles, and veggie options were good and fresh. The meat was sliced very thin so it always came out nice and soft. There were also sweet options like red bean sesame balls (these were a little stale, probably the only item that wasn't fresh), and everyone gets either a scoop of matcha ice cream or coconut jelly. Came here with my husband for his Birthday on 26th January, it was a Thursday night. This was my first experiencing having a hot pot, and it was a mind-blowing experience to be honest. The place was clean and it was very easy making a reservation on the Yelp waitlist. We both opted for the 25$ hot pot set menu and it didn't disappoint. This was more than enough for two people for sure. We opted for a rich pork broth and fiery spice beef. The fiery spice beef broth was amazing and so spicy. I do love spicy food so it was perfect for me. We got the premium pork and American Wagyu house cut for the proteins. Personally I really liked the pork one over the beef, it was very flavourful. The shrimp dumpling and shiitake mushroom were few of the tapas I really enjoyed. They even gave us a free coke which went perfectly with the spicy food. There is a yelp check-in so you can add yourself before you arrive. There's an AYCE option but I went with the $24.99 set menu where you can pick a soup base, 2 meats, 5 sides, and a carb and this was PERFECT for me. I hate the feeling of being disgustingly full after AYCE, but after this meal I felt just right and could still eat ice cream for dessert. Can't ask for more! My friend got the rich pork broth and it was really good! Very hearty. I got the fiery spice beef at medium spice and for me it was a good level where the enjoyment was greater than the pain of spice. We tried two of the wagyu meats, the ribeye, and the lamb and it was all pretty good quality meat and not too fatty. It's a good portion size for a person to eat. The sides were fine as well. The restaurant was pretty busy but the servers were attentive, I never had to ask to get my water refilled. Overall a great spot to get hot pot, with good quality soup and meats. I am quite surprised I haven't passed by Fiery Hot Pot, but glad I finally did. Fiery Hot Pot has become one of my go to spots in The City for Chinese Style Hot Pot. They start you off with their Taro Chips and they were fresh, crispy, and a nice appetizer before your hot pot meal. There is a self serve sauce bar/station where you can make your own sauces to your liking. Personally, I love the self serve station so I can whip of different sauces to go along with my meat, veggies, and sides. Their meats such as their pork, beef, and lamb were all VERY FRESH, FLAVORFUL, and HAD A GOOD MARBLING ON THE MEATS. Their presentation when the food comes out is one of the best compared to other hot pot places in the area. They are way more organized and the veggies/selection is fresher compared to other hot pot places. Oo0o0o0 I just remembered their Soju Drinks! The lychee and strawberry ones were so delicious and definitely my fave. Fall is coming soon so I definitely need to come back to this spot to get my hot pot fix. Additionally, the service was great/on point and staff was VERY ACCOMMODATING --PAYING ATTENTION TO DETAIL. I would like to add that we came on a weekday so please be more patient on the weekends when the restaurant is at FULL CAPACITY. Really enjoyed this AYCE place! Came here twice- once on a Saturday right at 5pm when they opened for a group of six people and got seated right away. Was able to get street parking right in front at this hour. Second time, we had a reservation for around 13 people on Sunday at 6:30pm and they were able to accommodate us. Parking was a little tougher this time, but was still able to get street parking right around the corner after making a lap. Not sure how long they're doing this for or if it's permanent, but each person in your party can get a plate of American Wagyu Ribeye if they check-in on Yelp, so our party got a few plates of that! You order all your noodles, sides, veggies, and meats from a QR code, which I personally prefer, and everything is brought out pretty quickly. The hot pot comes in split pots (aka 1 pot is divided in 2) and our table got 4 types of broths our first time- beef, 2 porks (mild and medium), and miso. I really liked that you could customize the spice levels for each since I love spicy and the rest of my table doesn't. For meats, I'd recommend getting the pork belly and ribeye, as those were my favorites. They also have a sauce bar where you can customize your dipping sauce. Service here is up to par- never had to wait long for anything and our broth was always refilled without us needing to ask. Dessert is also included in the price you pay and you have the option of either ice cream or grass jelly (I think they change up what ice cream flavor you get from time to time). I've always love this restaurant and claim it is my favorite in the Sunset. We always come with a party of 7 or more so they usually sit us in the back by the sauce bar and we love it cause of our young kids. Couple of things I love about this hot pot restaurant: 1. Sauces, veggies, and noodles are at an open bar that is self-serve. Everything is nicely presented and the items are always fully stocked. This place definitely exceeded my expectations. This was my first time visiting Fiery Hot Pot. I was part of a 4-top party going in just after 6pm on a Sunday evening, without a reservation. We were promptly seated within 5-minutes upon arriving! The ambience is pleasant and modern, the layout with open seating tables and booths provide an option for guests to have either more intimate or informal dining scenarios. Considering you are likely to be sharing hot pot entrees, you may want to be secluded with your party or share in the delight of creating your very own version of hot pot soup making. As one of my party guests remarked, it is analogous to a "choose your own adventure game"! Which I believe is both an appropriate comparison and worthy of a chuckle. The service was prompt and courteous. We were given options to choose either the 2-meat option with 6-a la carte tapas to choose from (each), or the unlimited option. We went the route of each ordering our own 2-meats. We each chose a variation of Wagyu beef cuts, chicken breast, pork belly, and premium pork options for our respective 2-meat orders. We chose the roasted tomato and pork broth options for the soup, mild and non-spicy respectively for the spice options. As we waited for the soups to arrive, we proceeded to select our tapas to add to or adjoin our hot pot entree. The tapas offered are extensive and include a variety of greens including kale, purple sweet potato, assortments of mushrooms, vermicelli, udon, ramen, iterations of tofu, aromatics including chives, ginger, garlic, and plenty of sauces. The choices left me feeling resplendent! The tapas were chosen, artfully and dutifully. We were ready for our sumptuous soup slurping! It was delicious! We all enjoyed our meat selections and the tapas provided many twists and turns to our hunger-inspired adventure. The story evolving with each passing minute, as the soup and its story revealed its ever increasing rich flavor, the water evaporating slowly as the intensity of our added characters of meats and sides created tension and release for our main characters, our taste buds! It sure was a grand story. The meal's adventure came to an enchanting ending as we were given the option of either vanilla ice cream or a small glass of coconut Jell-O.
