Incompetence or fraud? My wife visited Dr. Pham and had a pleasant experience addressing an emergency. She was asked to pay an amount at the time of service before it was processed by the insurance company. Which, while unusual, isn't unheard of. We generally like to see the see the Explanation of Benefits from the insurance company before paying but we paid anyway and it has led to nothing but problems. In fact, they overcharged us at the time by $28.00, which is we like to see the EOB first. They continue to bill us for incorrect amounts, one time it's forty something, the next time it's fifty something we owe them. So we got on a call with our insurance company and called the hostile billing manager. Who took the call but quite literally had to be schooled by the insurance staffer because she clearly did not know or understand the billing process. And all for that, the confrontational and rude billing manager ended the phone by hanging up on both may wife and the insurance company. Do you want to be trapped in endless calls simply because an office manager doesn't know what they are doing? Or do they know and just want to squeeze money out of you? No matter what you need. No matter how nice Dr. Pham, it's not worth this grief or damage to your credit score. Avoid Grand Island Dental and all the doctors there. It's not worth what you'll have to go through afterwards. read more

I was initially really happy with this office but after leaving my 5 star review, they immediately went downhill. Let's start with my most recent appointment. I was getting the lower left quadrant of my teeth worked on when I felt a huge rip in the corner of my mouth. My face was wet, so I brushed my hand on my cheek and realized I was bleeding, BAD. The gal working on my mouth blamed it on the metal ring they put around your tooth when they do a filling but I couldn't tell her that she cut me with something because I had a large block in my mouth preventing me from talking. She handed me a mirror and goes "look, its just your gums," meanwhile the corner of my mouth is gushing dark purple blood everywhere. She finally notices and tells me to hold on while she goes to get the dentist. He comes back and crams Vaseline and gauze into the hole and tells her to finish working on mouth. I'm having a full blown panic attack the whole time they finish working on my mouth. As soon as they finish up, I leave the place and drive straight to urgent care because I can't open my mouth without it ripping open and pouring blood all over again. The staff at the dentist gave me a needle and syringe full of some type of liquid, unmarked, in a Ziplock bag. I have no idea what it was and the urgent care couldn't figure it out either. The urgent care told me that they believe that I needed stitches, but because of the location, it is was a high risk of infection so just to try to eat soft foods until it healed up. Now, let's flash forward to today - my daughter was seen here on August 27, 2024. I had scheduled her a 6 month follow up on March 6, 2025, but they dropped my insurance before that, so I had to cancel the appointment. I am currently trying to enroll my child for the next school year and they need the dental form filled out showing that she has seen the dentist within the last 12 months. The form indicates 12 months right on it. When my husband tried to get the form filled out, the front desk gal refused saying that because my daughter had missed her 6 month check up, she would not be filling out the information. After reviewing the form again to make sure it said 12 months, not 6 months, my husband went back to ask them again to just confirm that she had been there in the last 12 months. Rather than just filling out the form, the gal wrote all over it and made a big deal about my daughter not having been seen in the last 6 months and 13 days. Luckily, we presented the document to the school and they still accepted it because the gals notes clearly showed that she had been seen within the last 12 months. Annoying and petty. This dental office is the one of the best dental offices I have ever visited. I'm big on dental health/hygiene so for me visiting a dentist is important. After not having insurance for a few years I had to make sure I choose wisely and research offices and read different reviews and weigh out my pros and cons on a facility that wasn't too far from home. My insurance gave me listings of several dental offices within the same vicinity and this one seemed to have really great ratings. On my first visit, my youngest son and I came together. Funny, but we were actually scheduled on his birthday. We were one of the last patients scheduled because I don't like to pull my son out of class if I can help it, so I usually schedule late in the day. You would think at the end of the day, most medical or dental offices are already done and not so friendly towards the end of the day. Not these guys. I have never ever in my whole life felt and was ever treated as nice at any dental offices til I came here. Again.... Dental hygiene is important to me so I have visited several dentists for years and this one was one of the most nicest offices I have ever visited. From the front desk Virginia to the dentist and the dental hygienist they were very professional and were courteous. They gave us cute little welcome gifts for being a new patient here and the dental hygienist removed the gunk from my sons teeth. His teeth looked "Brand New" and I'm not exaggerating. I loved his cleaning and I was impressed how comfortable they made him feel and even made him feel special for coming in on his birthday. When it came time to my cleaning it was less than 30min and the dental hygienist did a great job. I feel happy I finally found a dental office that made us feel welcomed. Love this dentist clinic! Just had my 1st appointment. Purpose: to have routine teeth cleaning. Dr T spent plenty of time educating me on costs and benefits, causes and effects. E.g., I now understand how genetics affects tooth decay, how fees are reasonable, not inflated, whether paying with cash or insurance. X-rays I brought in from my previous dentist were low rez, so Dr T needed to make new X-rays. They appear to have hi quality, up to date equipment. X-ray tech Fatima was thorough, precise, and efficient, not to mention friendly, concerned for my mouth to be comfortable. Hygienist Sonia was excellent, informing me every step about gum recession, scaling, brush technique, and how laser treatment can restore ligaments, but not bone loss. The periodontist work is referred out to another dental practice. One step I really appreciate: being asked if I wanted anesthesia (crowns, fillings, lazer treatments, etc). Because I get headaches for days afterward, I prefer not to have lidocaine/xylocaine/arcticaine or whatever they are using. And it worked out in the end, b/c I can handle a little discomfort in short term, in exchange for long term gains. So that was a bonus improvement for me. Also they do CEREC crown molds here at Grand Island, and send them out for production. Everything was well done, timely and efficient. Karina in the front office took care of phones and insurance paperwork. Really credit her with communicating with me the pre-authorized insurance ceilings, so I could make informed decision about how and what work I could afford to do. read more

It has been a good while since I felt the urge to write a review. Today struck the nerve since we are at the dentist for my son. I have visited here once, the time they took resulted with the need to reschedule and only having the consultation done. I was told by the dentist they would prescribe me antibiotics and pain medicine however they never did. I followed up with their office more than once and no one could provide an answer if I would still be prescribed the medicine. I was also told I would be called with a quote on the work needed however no one did. I had to call more than once to get an answer and the scheduling avail didn't work anymore for me. Today my son had an appointment at 9:00a, they took him back about 9:45a and numbed him about 10:15a. It's currently 11:01am and they have taken back 5 patients and those patients have left. My son is still sitting here waiting. I cannot understand how the management of time is neglected. While we made this appointment, people's time is valuable also. It's a two way street for respect. This office seems unorganized and overbooked for the one dentist. They need to fix their structure of their workflow. An incredible amount of wasted time. read more

Admittedly I am one of the worst when it comes to maintaining a good, ongoing relationship with the dentist office. I first started seeing Dr. Pham at his Eastside office, however after moving from that area to right down the street from this office, I again started to slack off on regular dental visits. I have resumed regular visits with this office and still couldn't be happier with the doctor, the hygienist, and everybody else that I come into contact with. Dr. Pham is personable, always asks something personal without being nosey.. if that makes sense.. Wait times are generally pretty short if any at all. The hours are fantastic and I always seem to be able to get an appointment that fits my schedule. My entire family (wife and kids) have started going to this office and we are all very happy which makes it a lot easier to stay committed to good oral hygiene. read more

This was my first time at Grand Island Dental and it was an amazing experience! The office is super clean and the staff is very nice. I was greeted with a warm welcome from Olivia. Dr. Truong is so knowledgeable and through by explaining in details of my X-rays and what she would recommend. She came up with a plan that would best fit my needs. I was so comfortable knowing my options and what to expect. I was introduced to Maria, the hygienist that did my teeth cleaning. I explained to her and the doctor that I have very sensitive gums and she was very cautious of my sensitivity during cleaning. Even gave me the option of numbing my gums but I chose not to. Needed to get a new dentist last year and Grand island had an open appt, so I decided to give them a try. So far so good. I've been in for routine cleanings, deep cleaning, crown placement and a dental emergency. Each time, the staff and doctors have been professional and accommodating. When I had my dental emergency, they got me in right away, same day. They go above and beyond for their patients. I had a cleaning with Sonia today. She was super sweet, gentle and very personable. She recommended some products that would be beneficial for my oral health. What I appreciated was that they weren't just the high dollar treatments and products sold by their office. She gave me some more affordable options as well as the treatments done at the office. I've had a great experience so far at Grand Island. The staff and doctors are awesome! read more

Waste of time, had me sitting there for over 40 minutes because they could not figure out insurance information. Tried to do the work without telling me the copayment only to later find out it was tripple from what I was originally estimated, $600 is a big difference from $200. After they had me waiting they pushed me to a later time only to find out they gave it so someone else ao dentist said I would have to wait longer. MING LOCATION Wow where to begin.. My appointment was booked on July 20th with a very sweet and attentive person whom scheduled my new patient appointment. I wish I caught her name as this was the only good experience I had. As I walked into the dentist office on the day of my appointment a full lobby was present looking rather bothered and an absence of a welcome greeting upon entering. Huge red flag for me! There was a new staff member being trained with the longest acrylic fingernails, I have no clue how she will type on the keyboard when she could hardly hold the phone.. but major props if she can type appointments into the calendar with those things. I have had the pleasure of working front desk for many years and you should always train your staff that the person in front of you is the most important, the person on the phone can be placed on hold or offered a call back. They were on the phone booking a reservation for another patient and the new staff member was repeating the information to her colleague while she was checking the schedule and neglecting to give me a warm welcome or addressing I just walked in. This is my first time being here! A warm hello goes a long way. After announcing my presence i was asked my last name three times (not by the new girl but the one training the new girl) and my appointment was not on their books. She asked me when I scheduled and I told her the date and she mumbled something as whomever booked the appointment doesn't know about their office hours. I was fuming but ignored to see how they handled the situation. I decided to stick it out and book the appointment once again and answer all the tedious questions because I took the afternoon off of work for this appointment. In the lobby there was a woman who was very frustrated because she had been waiting 90 minutes to be seen. Another red flag! I asked the front desk team if they were going to be delayed because my appointment wasn't on the books, I offered to come back if that was the case as I had things to do an hour from original appointment time. They assured me that I would be seen shortly. A new patient appointment includes exam, X-rays and a cleaning. The X-ray machine was not working yet at least three clients prior to me were needing X-rays. I left 50 minutes after my appointment was supposed to begin as I realized I was not going to be getting the service promised. I arrived 15 minutes prior to the appointment because I figured I would have papers to look over! Fun fact, two other people left prior to me and decided to call back to reschedule. That's three appointments they easily let go, so they clearly don't value your time or business. The general feeling from this office is very messy and disorganized. read more

the most ridiculous dental place i and my family have been at. first they start drilling on my husband's wrong tooth. he had to tell the dentist he's drilling the wrong tooth. then they refer me out to a oral surgeon, the oral surgeon place calls to get my referral but they said they have never referred me. how do you not have this information on the patients file! anything that has to do with a patient should be in the patient file!! the xrays are blurry and show little to no root so now i have to pay $70 out of pocket because grand island dental didn't do their job right. and they're still not doing their job right. labeling the xrays wrong when given to the oral surgeon. i will never go back to this place. they need to be professional and it seems like they need a lot of training. I found Grand Island Dental after relocating from Northern California. I had been with my previous dentist for over a decade and was worried I would not find someone I liked as much. The office was close to my home so it was very convenient. The front office staff was wonderful. They immediately set up an appointment and worked with my insurance. Everything was explained in detail from treatment plans to billing. The dentist is wonderful. He is soft spoken and relatable. He is up to date on all of the newest techniques. The hygiene team has been excellent. It has been four years since I stumbled upon this gem of a practice. I have since referred my entire family. I have to say how extremely disrespected I felt yesterday. I went in for my appointment. There were a few other patients there as well. I was chosen to be the Guinea pig for the new staff to train on. I know I was specifically targeted, because I am a young female. I was the "safer" patient to go with versus the male patients or older female patients. I told them I needed to be out within an hour to get to work on time. That was not respected and I was late to work. I was there somewhere from an hour and 15 min to 90 min. I understand new staff needs patients to train on, however, It took 3 times longer. I had a trainee doing x rays which took an exceptionally long time and a trainee helping with a fill in which he ended up hurting me. I literally said I needed to be out by a certain time. That should have 100% been respected and they should have trained on another patient. But, again, I was the "safer" pick. One of the males in training accidentally really hurt me with the suction a few times. I feel like once they are hurting a patient, they should be stopped. Everyone was pleasant, but again with the disrespect of making me the Guinea pig simply because I am a young woman regardless of my time constraint and being physically hurt by a new guy in training, I will never be back. I can not recommend this dentist office after the disrespect they showed me and also the cancer sores I now have in my mouth from being hurt multiple times by training staff. read more
