    Grandi Deluxe sandwich

The staff are very friendly and welcoming, not to mention that the food is delicious! Love their shrimp scampi and Grandi Deluxe sandwich. They've also got cheesecake, pudding and tiramisu as well as a selection of soft drinks. The decor and music give off a warm vibe. I like to bring my family here.

Main dining area. Far back is where you walk to order.

The entrance is on the corner to the restaurant. Since this location used to be a buffet, it's still arranged this way. As you enter, you must continue to walk all the way towards the wall on the left side, then make a right to the end. There is no table service. It's set up like an old school diner where you grab a tray, napkins, and utensils. The set up is a like a cafeteria style. You then are able to place your order. First time there, we informed the lady. The lady who helped us was very informative and giving the detail description of the food items. In addition, she even mentioned that it could be combined or choose a different add. I loved that (A+). Once you finish placing your orders, you push your tray around, self grab your choice of drinks. Behind there, there they have an ice and water machine (free of charge). As you continue to push through, they will serve your food. They also provide additional plates for sharing, if needed. The chef was making pizzas. At the end, you pay. Once done, the dining area is sectioned into 3 seating areas. You choose where to sit. In the end, the chef came out and see how everything was.

We arrived here apparently before the dinner rush, which didn't matter because we still stood there waiting in the cafeteria style line to order for about 20 minutes. Just to order. Then we had to go sit at a table to wait to get our food for another 20 minutes. I had the half spaghetti and half ravioli dish. The ravioli dough was tough and didn't seem fully cooked and the sauce had almost no flavor until I put Parmesan cheese all over it. The prices were okay I guess. The premises is large but they don't bus their tables often. There were at least 7 tables with dirty dishes and again, it wasn't busy yet. This isn't somewhere that I'll be going back to. I love Italian food but I think the flavor gets lost in the fact they try to do it all so fast. Also, the markup on their bread must be high because they were pushing it on all of us like crack and it was annoying.

I love coming here! The owner is absolutely the sweetest man ever! All the workers are lovely as well. You can tell they love working there. I always order a small margarita pizza. It is made to order and it is very delicious. I chose to dine in house this day. It was nice and quiet. But as I was leaving, people started to trickle in. I haven't had the pleasure of trying their other dishes. All I can say is the pizza is delicious. Please give this place a try if you are ever in the Canoga Park area

Went back to Grandis with my family. This time I tried the Chicken Parmesan with a side of ravioli and meat sauce it was really good! A classic good Italian spot. Aron the owner is always so sweet and remembers us. I also recommend the spaghetti, salad, and rice pudding.

The line moves pretty quickly at Grandi.

The absolute best of the best and at prices that are amazingly affordable. If this restaurant was in the heart of Hollywood, you could expect to pay wild prices. The owner purposely located here so he could offer gourmet food at reasonable prices. I've been dining there since Aron opened and have never been disappointed ever! I've gone through practically the entire menu and everything that the restaurant offers is the best I've ever had. All the sauces are homemade and come from generations of time honored recipes that you can't get out of a can. Aron now has gluten free pizza which is a tasty as the non gluten kind and also offers gluten free spaghetti so you can be assured that if you have a gluten allergy, you are in great hands. This place is spectacular so do yourself a favor and have a great lunch or dinner at Grandi Italiani.

From the moment we walked in, I knew this place was different, mainly because we were greeted by Aaron the owner like long-lost family and not just another carb-hungry stranger. We kicked things off with the Spaghetti Bolognese. It looked unassuming. But, after one bite I instantly started speaking fluent Italian (or maybe just started speaking with a heavy NY Italian accent from Brooklyn moaning "Fuggedaboutit" through mouthfuls of pasta--same difference). The Pepperoni Pizza was made by a very talented chef named Giuseppe (probably... or more like Jose). Thin crust, crispy, cheesy, with just the right amount of the ingredients that makes you wanna say "che bello... sono contento". I tried to share a slice but ended up fake-coughing on it so I wouldn't have to. Zero regrets. My wife had the salmon salad. It's for when you want to pretend you're eating healthy while actually enjoying buttery, flaky salmon on a bed of greens that probably do yoga. So fresh, my wife almost apologized to the lettuce. Also, special shoutout to the head chef and owner Aaron who brought a free cream of carrot soup for my one-year-old son. My son stared at it suspiciously, took a tiny bite, then he slurped it down like he was in witness protection and had to eat in a hurry. Toddler-approved! We topped it off with a Tiramisu. Fuggedaboutit again. If desserts could whack your tastebuds (in the nicest way), this was it. But here's the kicker: THE PRICE. For food this good, I was expecting my bill to come with a side of heartbreak--but nope. Totally affordable. Like, suspiciously affordable. Let's just say... I checked the bill twice to make sure there wasn't a shakedown. Are they secretly a front to the Italian mob? Is there a Nonna in the back working magic for free? In short: I came in for dinner, left feeling like a made man. If you're not eating at this unpretentious hole in the wall family owned Italian restaurant, you're missing out on a life-changing pasta epiphany--and possibly free soup. Photo below: The dude in the middle is me. The breathtaking bombshell with the baby is my wife. The tiny mobster in her arms? That's my mini-me, future don of juice boxes and playroom turf wars. The distinguished gentleman next to me is Aaron--owner, head chef, and culinary capo di tutti capi.

Please phone us at (747) 230-8081 and ask for Aron. He will provide you with the information you're looking for.

How much is a 32 ounce jar of the meat sauce?

As of May 2024: Jar $13.50, plastic container $12.00.

Is there pork in the meat sauce?

No pork! Just lean ground beef.

Also cash only like the one in 3rd and Fairfax?

No, this one actually does take credit cards.

Do you serve any low sodium items?

Hello Christi. We use a very light hand with salt. That being said, some dishes have more salt than others. However, we can prepare the following dishes without any salt at all: Pasta with olive oil and garlic (alio e olio), steamed veggies,… Read more

Why did they change the name from Andre's Italian Restaraunt?

Grandi Italiani has all of the same food and recipes, but is owned by someone else. Aaron (the owner) i believe was a former employee at Andres and decided to open his own.

    Is the mushroom sauce vegetarian?

No, we use chicken broth/stock in it.

Do they have side of bread without garlic spread?

They must have plain rolls for their sandwiches, and they've probably been asked this before. The entire staff is so accommodating that I'm sure they would be able to fulfill your request.

    Is the ravioli vegetarian?

Hi Letty! The Spinach and Cheese Ravioli has eggs inside and is cooked in a chicken broth. If you like, simply request that your Ravioli be cooked in vegetable broth instead. Many thanks!

Do they have any vegan-friendly dishes?

Yes! I go there weekly and have discussed the ingredients with Aron the owner. The spaghetti and marinara sauce are vegan. Earth balance is used on the spaghetti.… Read more

Location 4 stars: Northeast corner of Roscoe and Topanga Canyon Boulevards in Canoga Park,…read moreCalifornia. Plenty of free self-parking. Venue 3 stars: Unpretentious, basic mom and pop shop. Indoor tables and booths and takeout. No outdoor seating. Tables can be tight and cramped for the huge plates and the many side dishes typical to Korean comfort food. Billing 1 stars: I was disappointed that on the check they recommend the tip amount based on the total after tax, which is not correct. Tipping is customarily calculated based on the total before tax. Some restaurants have attempted doing this recently which I find misleading and I will be calling them out on it. I have posted a picture of the check. Now, this may have been done by the terminal vendor and not the restaurant management but nevertheless I would recommend that the restaurant addresses this to avoid having confused and unhappy customers. Service 3 stars: Again, unpretentious and basic but efficient. Food 5 stars: Korean comfort food, using the recipes from "the real" Grandma Kim. I have been coming to Grandma Kim's for many many years now. I was sad to see that during and after COVID their food quality had dropped noticeably. I am glad to report that THEY ARE BACK! During my last visit the food was excellent! My favorites are the savory pancakes (Seafood, Kimchi, etc.), the Korean Ramens, and the Spicy Pork Bulgogi. Drinks 4 stars: Bottled Beer, Korean Soju and soft drinks. The Bottom Line 3.5 stars: Great destination for Korean comfort food in a comfortable setting. I do humbly recommend that they correct their tipping recommendation ASAP to avoid confusing their loyal customers (see above). Otherwise, highly recommended!
