Had the pleasure of dining at Frankie's last night for dinner. Was not planning on Italian but not disappointed that we did. We were able to get a 7p reservation which was about an hour after we started looking. The restaurant is not big but they have ample seating. They have an outdoor seating option but on this night it was too hot to sit outside. While we waited for our table I had a nice sangria on the outside patio. Once inside you can tell this place has been around for a while and has catered to valleys favorite folks for that same time. Most people in the restaurant seemed like they are regulars. I ended up seeing someone I knew there and they said they had been going there for more than thirty years. The service was great and Richard was awesome. Whatever you need the guy will get it for you and make it happen. The food was the star of the show. If you like garlic you will love this place. They give you garlic knots to wet your palette. Delicious. Followed that with a nice salad with a balsamic dressing. The table shared a small pizza that was cheesy and garlicky. What else could you want. I was stuffed but managed to get down half my entree and took the other half home. I had the chicken parm with penne instead of spaghetti. Chicken was crispy the sauce was flavorful. My friend had the clams and linguine and absolutely could not stop talking about his dish. His wife had the lasagna and was very happy with the choice. But with all of the appetizers we were all full. However, there's always room to taste dessert. Probably the least favorite of the night. The cheesecake was good not great. The tiramisu had a chocolate drizzle on top which made it overly sweet. Nonetheless this will be a new place to go to for Italian in the valley. read more

Nice local Italian restaurant which is a good spot for lunch. Inside has an old school feel. There is an outdoor patio as well. No reservation was required and we were seated right away. Service was good and food came out quickly. The garlic knots they brought out were actually really good! Mozzarella and zucchini sticks were 3/5. Zucchini lacked flavor and was cut way too thick. Mozzarella was ok when dipped in the sauce. My order came with soup or side salad. I opted for the minestrone soup which was good but wished it was warmer. I ordered the drunken chicken but unfortunately our dishes were switched and my friend and I had already taken a bite so we didn't switch back. So I had her dish which was similar to a bolognese. We came here today since our favorite in the neighborhood was closed because of a power outtage. So Frankie's was chosen to fill our Italian cravings. Cute old school place, atmosphere, music & nice people even with an outdoor patio that would've been nice if it was a bit warmer this day. We had a smple lunch Minestrone Soup, some Chianti & an antipasto salad. The soup, small portion & very bland & thin, however the garlic knots & salad made up for it. My family and I were at Frankies with 12 people for my Brother-in-Laws 79th Birthday party. Everybody was so nice, and "on the ball." We had Lupita as our server, she was wonderful!! This was our first time dining in at this restaurant. I found it on Yelp and seemed like an awesome Italian restaurant to try. The atmosphere was great. The restaurant is a bit cozy but the decor gave it a warm feeling. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. We were recommended drunken chicken as one of there most popular dishes so we went ahead and ordered that and the Shrimp Scampi. Both were very delicious dishes! Their dinner rolls were amazing, probably one of the best I've ever had. The only thing preventing me from leaving this place a 5 star rating is the comment I overheard from one of the waitresses when a group of people that was dining outside the in the patio area asked her to take a picture of them and she smiled but made a rude comment to her colleague. read more

Every time we have been to Frankie's the food has been delicious. It has been awhile since we stopped in. I really like the new brighter decor. The garlic rolls are always amazing. I tried the Liz's Special, which is fussili pasta in a wine sauce with grilled chicken, sun-dried tomatoes, artichoke and pine nuts. My husband had his tried a true chicken parmigiana. Oh my god.. i've been here at least 4 times. The food is amazing. Just perfect. The angel hair pasta with chicken piccata is perfect! Great texture, good identity and lemon sauce. It is very filling and I order it every time I go! Mozzarella sticks with sauce are great! I know, fried food is unhealthy, but these? I could live off of them. Service sometimes is a bit slow, but it is understandable because everything is so fresh and yummy. Ambiance is great. Terrible excuse for Italian. Seems to be a locals type place. Service was friendly but inept. The calamari came out soggy and smelled incredibly fishy. Can't believe they sent it out of the kitchen. A better restaurant would have said "we're out of calamari tonight" instead of serving what we got. It took forever to get a waiter to take the plate away. The smell was rough. The Chicken Marsala is hands down the WORST recipe I've had in my life. You could smell the soy sauce they must have used from a foot away from the plate. The sauce was thin and salty with a heavy soy sauce taste. The pasta it came with was overcooked and lacking in flavor. The chicken Parmesan was similarly underwhelming. The tiramisu was decent. We came for dinner around 6PM. Parking is easy peasy as it's a shared lot with plenty of spaces around. Frankie's Italian Kitchen is surprisingly spacious both inside and under their covered patio out front. We opted to sit inside but they do have heaters in the patio if it gets too cold outside. Having never been here before and unsure of what to get, we kept it simple - 3 meatballs in marinara sauce for an appetizer and 14" medium pizza with pepperoni & pineapple. They served complimentary garlic rolls while we waited. The garlic bread was nice and soft. The meatballs were a good size and tasty. The pizza was pretty good so all the food we tried hit the spot! The servers were all very nice and attentive. They were Johnny-on-the-spot to refill waters and clear the tables from unused plates/utensils. While they were always around to provide anything you needed, they weren't hovering or rushing you in any way which was nice. Good service goes a long way! The only minor complaint is that the front of the restaurant kinda had a weird/strong smell from the kitchen, so if you eat inside try not to sit at the first few tables. Other than that, Frankie's is pretty good casual Italian dining! It seems to attract an older crowd. The men and women's restrooms in the back are single-person and well maintained. read more

This place had really great food with really great portions! We started off with the complimentary garlic bread, 7/10 it was VERY rich with garlic and had a hint of a fishy taste. The bread was super soft on the inside with a nice crispy outside. For appetizers we had the cajun calamari and the fried mozzarella. The calamari was good, the cajun adding a nice subtle flavor, texture was good; lightly crisp batter. The fried mozzarella was amazing! Great cheese to breading ratio. The breading was crisp and dipped in the sauce the combination was great! For my main, my partner and I shared a small pizza with cheese, jalapeños, bacon, and pepperoni. The crust of the pizza was perfectly crisp and there was a good amount of cheese. No ranch needed! My mom and her husband had the Drunken pasta as well as the spaghetti with stuffed eggplant. I'm going to start with " I wish I could do 3.5 stars " I work around that area and it's pretty busy in that entire vicinity so driving out to lunch uses up a lot of my lunch time. My co worker and I decided to walk to Frankie's for lunch. I've ordered the oily pesto and it's Ok, tried their drunken pasta it was Ok and their manager let me try their "creamy" pesto. I loved it!!! Their lunch comes with a soup or salad. The first time i tried the minestrone soup and it was delish, the second time it was meh so I've had their house salad. I think IMO the creamy pesto is their best and the bread rolls are AMAZING! The servers are friendly and their manager Lionel is awesome! Everything is riddled with white wine. For someone with ale third this place is a night mare The Jan's moustacholi is good some days. The chicken dishes are good some days. They are very inconsistent. There pizza is terrible. The portion size seems to change like the taste and the way it is made. I will go one night with family and we enjoy the jan' s mostachacholi and the next day when ordered it is a third the size and is terrible. It has happened with the chicken too. One bus man is excellent and the wAitresses think you are doing them a favor. Skip it. Not missing anything. Good tools sometimes but even those change daily minutely. Nothing consistent. read more

First and last time dinning here. Waiter was friendly. This is the only reason why I'm leaving two stars. The pasta was basic and so was the sauce. It left a lot to be desired. The meatballs seemed boiled and gelatinous. I felt a bit nauseated after a few bites and I sent it back. I paid $20 for two bites of pasta and half a meatball. Never again. This was probably the most unpleasant dining experience I've ever had. Honestly, save your money and get a cheeseburger from McDonald's. You would have a better experience. read more

Fantastic Italian food at a reasonable price. Independently owned by an owner who takes pride in both his service and food. The waiters and waitresses are super friendly and know their menu well. We have eaten here so many times over the years, sometimes the food is great sometimes not so much. The last few times it has not been great and the last time we went- was very disappointing. Although our bus boy was great, service... Not so much. As far as the food goes, if this was our first visit we would not have come back a second time. Thankfully the dinner rolls (Which are one of the big draws for us) -with butter and garlic, were their standard delicious! My husband ordered the sea bass (which was described as "lightly breaded"). It was so over battered, and fried it was pretty almost inedible. I'm actually not even sure it was Seabass. As a non meat eater, I always ask yes something is vegan or vegetarian. So when I asked about the minestrone soup and she said "yes it is" I was going to order it... And then I asked her what the soup base was made out of- she said "beef stock". Ummm... So I had her confirm that the lentils were made strictly with vegetables and ordered those-and those lentils were delicious. Totally hoping they didn't taste that good because they were actually made with beef stock The grilled salmon was ok. Not something I would order a second time. And it came with a sauce that tasted and looked like Russian dressing(??!!) The pasta that came with it was awful. Not cooked enough overly saturated in oil.
