We reserve easily for our girls catch up dinner. Great menu selection. Soft shell crab fried rice, curries, mango sticky pudding, assorted appetizers. Yummy!!!

Sabai Thai was okay, I got to sample a few dishes during restaurant week and had a pleasant enough experience. The som tam papaya salad starter was good, though maybe a bit too sweet and not as spicy or balanced as I've had at other Thai restaurants. My main, the Thai style udon noodles, was very ordinary. Neither the flavors nor the heat really stood out much, unfortunately. Service was mixed; staff was friendly, but it was quite some time before anyone came by to refill water between starters and entrees, even during a Tuesday evening that wasn't especially busy. All in all, a decent spot, but don't expect to be blown away.

I stopped into Saban Thai for dinner on Tuesday night. Even on a Tuesday there was a crowd. Without a reservation, i took a seat at the bar. The bartender was kind and efficient. I ordered the mezcal cocktail and was not disappointed! For dinner, i had the crab fried rice. It was pretty good, not amazing, but good. I don't know that i would go back, since there are so many options in NYC, but i don't regret choosing Saban for a close to my hotel dinner before turning in.

Overall: I went here on a friday night with my wife. Reservations were easy to get and the restaurant seated us immediately. The food was outstanding, especially the shrimp cake appetizer. So many things looked great, I'm eager to go try more. Its a little expensive and the tables are kind of close so it gets loud, but overall the food was well worth it. Food: 5 Drinks: 4 Service: 4 Value: 3 Atmosphere: 3 Food: We were blown away by our food. We got the shrimp cake appetizer, beef pad see ew, and chicken gang daang (red curry). The shrimp cake was amazing, highly recommend. The noodles and curry were also delicious, with the one complaint that there could have been slightly more rice with the curry. But overall, everything was wonderful. Drinks: We each got a cocktail. The drink menus were generally on theme for the restaurant and were generally very tasty. Service: Servers were friendly and generally attentive. They did a good job helping to guide us around the menu and navigating spice levels. Very helpful. Value: Appetizers are around $15 each, entrees are $25-35, and cocktails are generally in the $15-20 range. On its face that isn't terrible, but it should probably have been a lot cheaper considering how much of the meal was rice and noodles. Atmosphere: Its a cool restaurant with authentic decorations. Its a little bit loud and the tables are pushed quite close. We heard just about everything the table next to us had to say.

Mediocre restaurant week experience. Massaman curry with flank steak was subpar. Potatoes weren't cooked through. I will say the flatbread was tasty, but I wish I'd been served a small side of rice with the curry. I regret not ordering the Chicken with the udon noodles as that looked much more interesting. Chicken dumplings and mochi didn't add anything special to the meal. Lychee Cocktail too sweet per friends.

I LOVE THIS PLACE! Amazing service, lovely atmosphere, and the food was great! Hostess, bartender, and server were all so welcoming and greeted us with a smile. The lighting was so just so romantic and done right in every single way. The best part was the food--everything was great! Chicken Satay Skewers 10/10 Crispy Basil Duck 8.5/10 Chicken and Rice 8/10 So, so, so good. Would 100% go out of my way to come back here if I was craving Thai again. Mwah! Chefs kiss.

We came here for Restaurant Week as it fortunately was a restaurant with ample amount of availability on a Thursday evening. Similar to the other dinner offerings around town, this was a 3 course offering. For the appetizers, we settled for the satay skewers with tofu & the spring rolls. It was great that each of the appetizers had a veggie option to it. That was really helpful. Nice presentation too. We did get cocktails to enjoy with our food. Mine was a mezcal-based cocktail (I forget the name), but it was really good. My girl had an off-the-menu gin based cocktail especially recommended for Restaurant Week and she had no complaints either. As for the main course, I went with the eggplant basil. This was quite yummy and also not super heavy. The eggplant portion was quite generous. For the dessert, I got the mango mochi. Couldn't go wrong with that choice in the summer. Great restaurant and even better vibes for Restaurant Week.

It's my first time in New York and I was looking for something in walking distance, I stumbled upon this restaurant which worked because I love Thai food. It was around 3pm on Sunday and the restaurant wasn't busy so we were able to be immediately seated. The staff were very friendly and checked on us at the right time. The pad Thai was a 10/10 and I loved the spring rolls, those were 1000/10. It was my first time trying the mango sundae but it was so delicious, not too sweet. The vibe of the restaurant was very nice. I loved the dim light. I recommend this place to anyone!

Came here on a weekend for a late dinner. The interior was nice, low lit, and intimate, but casual enough to come not dressed up. After browsing the menu for a bit, I ordered the drunken noodles, while my dining partner ordered the pad thai. I asked if they could cook the beef more medium, but they could not honour that request because the meat is precooked. Bummer. It was fine though, because the meat ended up being nice and tender already. The flavours were also spot on as was the texture of the noodles. This was definitely a great rendition to this classic. I tasted the pad Thai, and wow! It was also very delicious and a great balance of sweet, sour, and spicy. The few negatives were they charge you per glass of soda, and the glass is pretty small.... as in gone in three or four sips. The lighting was also very harsh in the section we were sitting at. Service was also not very attentive, and we had to finally flag down the waitress. Still, the execution of the food was definitely top tier and spectacular. Definitely left my tastebuds happy.

Overall: B // 4 stars Returned to this upscale Thai restaurant after a reasonable first visit; they offer an intriguing menu with reasonable quality food on the more pricier side, but their reservations are readily available even on a last minute Friday night, which is the biggest plus. (Cantaloop: A) - Very subtle, yet pretty cocktail that is cantaloupe-first, with background notes of citrus and other fruits. Pleasant and easy to palette drink. (Sabai Sampler: B) - The selection of sampling items is not the best choice as everything is monotone and fried; that being said, the flavors and cook on everything was impressive -- the chicken satay was tender and the peanut sauce was addictive; the fried dumplings were moist on the inside and paired nicely with all three sauces. (Pad Thai Hor Kai: C) - Every time I see their menu, their special Pad Thai has a downgrade from Lobster to Spot Prawn to Marinated Chicken. While the chicken was incredibly tender and the Pad Thai exhibited nice flavor, it is quite hard to justify the $29 price point for this dish. The egg omelette looks nice, but the hacked cutting of the chicken and it not staying put kind of ruins what would've been otherwise a neat presentation. (Mango Sticky Rice: A) - One of the most beautiful takes on this dish I've had in NYC; smart choice of using small portion of forbidden rice to add that purple tint; the mango rose is beautiful and tender with precision; the coconut sauce also adds immense flavor. Food: +1 Presentation: E Price: E Atmosphere: E Service: E Menu: +1 Overall: 4 stars Insta/Yelp/Beli/TikTok: @amei_eats

The food: overall we really enjoyed everything that we had at Sabai. The pad see ew was great with wonderful flavor and perfectly cooked. I really have zero complaints about anything that we had. The Service: service was great. The wait staff was attentive and friendly, and we weren't left waiting for our food for too long at all. The ambiance: while the ambience is nothing special and isn't the coolest restaurant you've ever been to it's still very nice and very good for a casual dinner. Overall, I will definitely come back to Sabai Thai for decent Thai food and have zero complaints about our experience whatsoever.

Great location. Beautiful decorations, which provides a unique vibe. Service was great, even though it was a busy Friday evening, our waitstaff took our orders quickly, and checked on us to make sure we were good with everything. The best part of course is the food. The appetizer we picked, pork belly, was a pleasant surprise. And I loved the rich and creamy flavor of my Massaman curry, my friend loved her Pad Thai as well.

Gorgeous restaurant with staff that went above and beyond. My partner enjoyed the eggplant basil (vegan-though he's not!). I got the vegetarian pad Thai (note that the pad Thai comes with a fish sauce but they can make it without) which was good. For dessert, we split the banana cake with homemade vanilla ice cream. The ice cream was very yummy but the cake could've been sweeter. It tasted healthy! LOL. Restaurant was accessible, but they had to move tables for me to enter and exit my table with my rollator (a fancy walker). Gluten-free and vegan options are clearly marked on the menu.

For drinks, we ordered the Smoke Show and the King Tusk. The Smoke Show was beautifully balanced.
