Red curry
Cin C.

Review is for takeout. We got a red curry beef with a side of roti, spicy eggplant, pad thai and the basil minced pork chili rice. Each dish was absolutely delicious, even with the takeout lag and containers. The dishes are a nice fusion of thai and hong kong items. I liked that we could get both from the same place! Looking forward to eating in the restaurant next time.

Really enjoyed this place! Super cute restaurant and great portion sizes. Service was really fast, you place your order on your QR code and they come with your food. Pad Thai was good and flavourful. A very safe choice and definitely one of my comfort foods!

We unexpectedly ending up trying this Hong Kong Thai fusion spot while in the Yonge and Finch area. I ordered the laksa, while my friend got a baked rice. The service was decent, and the restaurant wasn't too busy. While I didn't really get the sense that anything was particularly super authentic or fusion, the food still tasted good, and the decor inside reflected the fusion theme!

Love have dinner at this place as the atmosphere n service was great. Ordered my usualy favourites mango salad, pad thai, thai teas... ordered a new spring roll ( shrimp meat), lettuce wrap, coconut ice cream pineapple bun and mango sticky rice

Been meaning to check out Grandpa Thai for some time now and was pleasantly surprised at this lil gem. With a great Thai menu, and selection of various items, it's worth a try. Food - ordered the Laksa seafood and subbed out the shrimp for more tofu (just a preference), and it was amazing! Loved the soup base, rice noodles and toppings were fresh, and flavourful! Service - attentive, and was able to confirm with them our order prior to it being processed to the kitchen. Helpful with any menu questions. Overall would def check out other Thai menu items. Super excited and happy I found such a great spot!

Seafood Risotto

I have been told the fried rice here is fried very well, but I haven't personally tried it. My friend had the seafood risotto which was basically rice in curry sauce. The pad thai is more ketchup-based and very sweet, which is not bad, but definitely not "authentic" tasting. That being said, it is a fusion restaurant so that's to be expected. I enjoyed the banana and condensed milk roti as the roti was very flaky. I would probably try one of their savoury rotis in the future. The table next to us had durian puffs which smelled very strongly of durian so I might give those a go next time too. The decor is cute but simple (the tables have nice artwork on them and they put little flags in your food with their logo). The restaurant itself is small (typical Yonge St sizing) so it got full during lunch hour but no one seemed to have to wait long for a table. Overall the food was decent and priced accordingly. I would come back to try other dishes.

Pretty good fusion thai hong kong cafe. Stopped by for dinner and got: - Tom Yum Seafood Rice: Creamy and strong tom yum taste. Would have liked a bit more seafood. - Lemongrass Grilled Fish: Tasty and huge serving size! - Deep Fried Durian Ball: A bit oily but loved the durian filling. - Coconut Milk Pudding: Soothing end after all the heat in the meal. Service is quick and perfunctory. Place is colorfully decorated. Prices are ok-ish, with a discount if you pay with cash. Grandpa seems very popular as it was packed when we were there.

If you're looking for authentic that food, you will be disappointed. However if you're down try something new, this place is great. Even though the food isn't traditional, it's also not the typical Americanized Asian food either. This venue offers a nice fusion twist to their dishes. Pro: 10% cash discount!

A good spot for HK x Thai fusion food. Here's what we ordered: * D03 TomYum Seafood Risotto Rice - 9/10 * D11 Thai Style Crispy Pork Belly - 6.5/10 (had a couple bites where the chili was too concentrated and intense for my liking) * J01 Thai Iced Milk Red Tea - 7/10 * J13 House Special Cafe - 8/10 Total came to about $58. Pro tip: 10% off if you pay in cash!! Servers are friendly and quick. Diner-style tables, good for small groups (2-6 people) Modern interior with LED signs inside, very instagrammable. Green P parking close by.

I saw a lot of online content creators review this place. Therefore, I decided to give it a try. - This place is busy and far away from the Green P parking lot, unless you choose to park on the street. - Excellent staff service for a café / diner-style restaurant. - Most of the food I ordered did not taste like Thai food except for the green mango salad and Thai iced milk tea. - I am not sure does the Thai coconut chicken hot pot is Thai or Chinese food, as it does not taste like either. - All the food does not taste bad at all but it does not look too appetizing, maybe it is due to the colour of their restaurant lighting. If you are near this area and want something new, then it may be worth a try.

Did you know Toronto has a Thai HK cafe? Yep - HK cafe dishes with a Thai twist to them! I've never seen this type of fusion before so I was definitely intrigued. We tried: - Fried Chicken Cutlet sizzling plate with Thai red curry sauce - Laksa noodles - Deep Fried Seafood (Crab, Shrimp, Taro) Net Spring Rolls - these were phenomenal, texture is similar to the taro ball dimsum where it's coated by a flaky and fragile net of crispiness. Definitely my favourite! - Thai Soy House Special - Jelly, dessert tofu, sago and mochi balls with a pot of cold thai iced milk tea to pour on top! A light Asian dessert soup, definitely recommend sharing this - Taro Ice Cream Pineapple bun - perfect combination of cold taro ice cream enveloped by a warm pineapple bun

Grandpa Thai is your unique place to get some HK food and Thai fusion food. This concept works surprisingly well and I enjoyed the dishes I ordered. I ordered the Thai Green Curry with Rice and I also tried the Laksa seafood soup. The green curry was delicious! I loved it and finished the whole thing! The laksa was good too but the curry rice was better. The service interaction was minimal but prompt. I didn't have to wait too long to get anything but it's also a small place. The ambiance is cool. The decor reminded me of a cool and hip Thai restaurant. Overall, an interesting place to check out!

This restaurant is very popular in the weekend. The shop opened at noon by 12:30pm it is full on Sat. As it is fusion Thai , yes, it is cushion and food is pretty good. I like pad Thai (fried noodle) and pig neck stir fried. The coconut seafood in noodle is average. I got a free cushion Thai - milk tea when I post the restaurant picture in IG . Also on a Sat, they provide shrimp chip for free! It's a casual restaurant and average dish is $15-24. The waiter / waitress are very nice and polite.

It was a huge appetizer and the sauce was great to dip the crispy fritters in. For our main, we got Shrimp Pad Thai and Tofu & Veggies Pad See Ew. Both were equally just as good. All the flavors were great and nothing was over seasoned; it was all just perfect. The bartenders were really friendly and personal. We ordered 2 cocktails to start with the tapioca dumplings and green papaya fritters. The drinks came out immediately. I had the Tincture Perfect, which was outstanding. It was the perfect mix of sweet, sour, floral and bitter. I loved it! My husband had the Unit 75 which he really enjoyed. The grapfruit bitters rounded out the sweetness of the Chambord and the sourness of the lemon. We decided to order another cocktail each just as our food arrived. I had the I Have a Lychee Secret. It was a little on the sweet side, but was very yummy. I loved the black pepper on top but didn't really taste much cilantro. My husband had La Passionista which was great. It was so well-balanced and flavourful. The dumplings were AMAZING! The butterly pea infused tapioca gave the perfect bouncy, chewy texture to the outside and the mushroom and radish centres were so tasty. Our waitress explained that they should be eaten in a lettuce cup with cilantro, mint and peanuts. YUM! Such a flavour bomb. The only thing I would have changed would be to add some sort of a spicy, salty, sour dipping sauce like a nuoc cham. The green papaya fritters were also just fantastic. They were crispy, crunchy and the dipping sauce was a little spicy and sweet. All in all, we really enjoyed our meal and would 100% return. I have already reccomended them to others.

The soft shell crab pad Thai exemplifies the kitchen's willingness to honor tradition while exploring thoughtful variation. The dining environment presents an aesthetically refined space, though observations regarding atmospheric density suggest opportunities for enhanced comfort optimization.
